Chie had known Yukiko for as long as she could remember, nothing pulled them apart, even when Chie dated Yosuke for a little while, Chie would always go back to Yukiko. Through wind and rain, it would always be the two of them, sharing a wired earpiece, listenting to music together in 2012. They were in their final year of school at Yasogami High School.Chie sat at the flood plains, kicking the water. All that was in her mind, was Yukiko and what her shadow said. It was true, that Chie was jealous of Yukiko, everything about Yukiko was perfect. People loved her, confessed to her, most importantly, Yukiko was never treated any differently. Chie always struggled with feelings, pushing them away. Chie's rough brown hair and beautiful dirt coloured eyes, she had taken off her green jacekt to feel the soft wind on her skin.Summer was a beautiful season, Chie and Yukiko hung out daily, they had no reason not to, but they had no reason to be together as well. It would be as pathetic for Chie to say that all she wanted was Yukiko to look as her, when Yukiko already saw all of her. The sunset was golden, the hues shone like Chie's tanned skin. Summer and winter, polar opposites, but they still worked so well. Each time it snowed, Chie would think of Yukiko's pale skin and soft smile, her bright laugh and straight teeth. Chie closed her eyes, sighing, hoping the summer would last forever, so she could be close to Yukiko forever. Just thinking of Yukiko, made Chie frown, grin, cry, blush. It was just teen love, nothing else.The next day, Yukiko and Chie were out at Junes, again. They ate and talked together, Chie was starring at Yukiko's hands and lips the whole time, wishing to hold her close. "Yukiko, everytime I hang out with you...I feel lighter," Chie said quietly, Yukiko only blushed, thanking Chie for the compliment. Yukiko brushed her hair back and giggled slightly. Unfortunately for Chie, Yukiko always thought she was straight, felt nothing for girls. Yukiko was a straight forward girl, we wanted to leave Inaba, Chie knew all of that, but Chie did not care. Chie just wanted to be there for Yukiko. There to hug her, hold her hand, to kiss her one day. Yukiko felt her heart flutter, but she did not know love. She knew nothing of love. Yukiko had only known confessions, she never realized that she was crushing on Chie. As their hang out prolonged, they headed home once sunset arrived, waving goodbye. Yukiko sighed as she walked home, Chie did too. Yet both did it for different reasons.Yukiko texted Kanji, wanting to ask about her feelings."Kanji, may I ask you something?" Yukiko sent the formal message, Kanji and Yukiko had known eachother since young, so maybe Kanji would know how to help her. "What's up?" Kanji texted back promptly."I'm having problems, everytime I talk to Chie, my heart jumps and pumps, and I feel a flutter in my stomach. Chie always glances at me, complimenting me, and I never know how to respond."Yukiko thought of all the times they hung out, Chie was the only one who treated Yukiko like a normal person, Chie was Yukiko's heart. Her phone received the reply. "I don't know either, but I think that's what we call a crush?" After Yukiko read it, she dropped her phone. Yukiko lay in her bed, texting back. "Are you really sure?"Kanji sent an emoji, and that's where Yukiko spiralled, sitting on her bed, her head pacing as she covered her face with her hands. "I'm not into girls..." Yukiko whispered, her heart pounded heavily, thinking of when they met. Yukiko wanted to meet Chie again, to look at her golden brown locks, her round eyes, maybe they could head to the gym together again.As the days went on, summer break did as well, they had to head back to school right after. Chie had barely finished her homework, and of course Yukiko was on top as always, she chuckled when Chie could not come up with an excuse. As class passed by, lunch break came along. The group was eating together as always, Yosuke and Yu shared slight glances as they talked about Chie and Yukiko's friendship. "Yukiko and Chie are really close, aren't they?" Yosuke exclaimed, putting his food down. Yu agreed, nodding his head. Chie smiled and put an arm around Yukiko comfortingly. "Of course we're close!" Yukiko shot them a quick grin before heading back to eating her udon.The four of them hung out, Yosuke stealing glances at Narukami, each of them sat in awkward silence, the other day, Narukami had confessed Yosuke, and everything else was just so,quiet.
