The splotch of paint could be heard as a strange figure steps into the cave, filling the silence of the spacious atmosphere with rather disturbing noises.
Fixing his vibrant mushroom cap with a paintbrush as his hand, Lycra, a confident and perhaps a cocky fellow, prepares himself for what could be a turn for the worse.
…
Another step and he stops. Tapping his foot, he waits for something. Could it be a response? Maybe a growl? Maybe something that’ll give him the chance to prove himself worthy?
Seconds pass, and the heavy footsteps of a large creature can be heard. Maybe this was the thing Lycra was waiting for…?
“Who is coming this late?!” The creature let out a deep roar out of anger. Yes, he didn’t want to be interrupted at the time being BECAUSE IT WAS NIGHTTIME, and it’s an obvious fact.
The mushroom fixed his hat yet again as he put the most conceited smile known to vegetable.
“Geez, settle down, I am only here to get ya out your comfort zone.” He laughed haughtily.
“You can’t just stay in caves all day, buddy. I’ve heard it can give you issues~”
“And what gives you the right to force a power beyond your ken onto you?”The creature’s foot stepped out of the red-green tinted fog. Then his whole body. His wings, too. And finally, his face, still looking as brutal as ever, with the scar across his left eye, and a serious expression, looking down at the overly-confident shortie.
“Beyond…your ken…?”
Lycra started laughing it off as if the beast, taller than this baked bean-size of a bastard, made a joke just to shoo off this arrogant being.
“BEYOND YOUR KEN?! Now, that’s not the way to welcome someone like me. Give me a good ol’ welcome, and we’ll get this done with, ok?”
“There is nothing to get done with, especially with your…size.” The dragon observed his height. This imbecile needs to scurry.
Lycra scoffed.
“Don’t make fun of my height!”
“I have not pointed out your-”
“HUSH!”
Lycra stopped the creature and twirled himself around to aim the paint at the creature’s face.
“GRAH!” The creature dodged the attack just in time, surrounding himself with a barricade of shadow hands as defense.
He composed his anger, as he wasn’t very fond of getting angry at simple things.
“So you have come here to fight.” His barricade disappears as the dragon began to speak.
“Indeed, I did. You’ve got skills for a guy…uhh…I forgot your name.”
“Dorago.” The creature replied. “I suppose you have not met an opponent like this, hm?”
“Nope.” Lycra twirled himself again to aim the paint at Dorago’s weak spot.
Another dodge.
“Damn, you’re skilled.”
Enabling the tangible shadows once again, the dragon moved himself behind the short vegetable, waiting for the right moment to attack.
Except…he wasn’t there…?
“Look behind you~”
Whipping his head around, he ducked under the arm of Lycra. Only then did the battle stop for a moment as their eyes made contact.“Very well. You have chosen death, I see.” The black and foggy hands behind him were still there, just in case that bastard attacked him with the paint.
Lycra fixed his hat for the third time and put his left arm on his hip.
“Well then, what are ya waiting for, grandpa? FIGHT ME TO THE DEATH!” He taunted.
Dorago’s heart started pumping harder.

GRANDPA…?

Was he supposed to look like that? He appeared old, yes, but not that old…
And the blood started thumping and rushing in his veins. He snarled, externalizing a confused and furious expression.

“EXCUSE ME??!”

Putting both his brush hands on his hips, Lycra scoffed playfully and smirked.
“Oh no~ Did I get you too mad? Go ahead, take your vengeance on me. I’ve chosen death anyway~”

“WHY YOU SON OF A-!!”

Dorago lunged at the ‘prey’ with his whole body, hoping to kill off the cocky mushroom in an instant.

Shit, he’s still alive.

His heart started pumping even louder like a taiko drum. Every hit felt powerful. And more power was rushing through his veins. It felt like the speed of light as he repeatedly penetrated parts of Lycra's body and hit him with the tangible shadows following his lead.

SLASH!

SWOOP! SPLAT!
GRAB!

The sounds of clashing could be heard from miles away, awakening the birds, the folks of the Floralia Kingdom…basically everyone.
The fighting continued on and on, in a confusing loop.
…
The mushroom couldn’t fight anymore. He was exhausted. Paint ammo was out. And now he was unable to move due to the claws on Dorago’s foot digging in his abdominal area. It hurt so bad.
The stakes were high at this point. Will he survive? Could he survive?
Could he possibly be spared?
Dorago looked at the bastard once again with a stoic expression.
“C-come on, aren’t you gonna finish it off?” Lycra coughed up some blood, revealing his frown rather than his facade.
“Do it now. Do it-”
“That’s enough.”
Dorago stayed silent and moved his foot back onto the rocky ground.
Surprised, Lycra stood himself up, finding his balance and fixing his hat, as well as his cape.
“You must leave.” Dorago turned around and walked into the mysterious wall of fog. He was not seen afterwards.
And so, the vegetable, so confident in himself, and now confused, hurt, scared, and all of the above, limped out of the cave, keeping in mind that there are consequences to his actions.
