Funtime Foxy felt a rush of happiness as she examined her left hand. Her
hand.
For a while it had simply been a hook, keeping up with the pirate theme that fox model animatronics had been known for ever since...well...ever since the previous Foxy existed. Even though it was nice and it was something the kids enjoyed, it hadn't quite fit Funtime Foxy well. Her voice was very feminine without a hint of rasp to it. That, of course, had more to do with the people who made her than anything else, and she knew it was because she was supposed to be a more approachable animatronic, but it made her feel too out of place to be a pirate. She didn't know much about the Foxy that existed before her, other than that she and the others had been told to stay away from the room the older withered animatronics lived in. They were supposed to be locked inside, unable to move or leave the room. They were functionally dead. They were only to be used for parts. That was all Funtime Foxy knew. That was all the other current animatronics knew as well. One thing Funtime Foxy didn't understand was why she wasn't considered to be a "toy" animatronic like Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica, and Toy Freddy were. She had the same shiny appearance and rosy cheeks as those animatronics. She now had the same feminine body as Toy Chica as well. It was odd that she was set apart so much from the rest. Then again, she also wasn't on stage with the three of them. She wasn't in the band and had her own attraction on a small stage in the corner of Kids Cove. In that way, she supposed she was her own star of the show, not having to share the spotlight with anyone. Not that she would have minded performing with anyone else, of course. It just made her feel a bit special. A bit
unique.
She felt like the most unique animatronic there. Then again there was also Puppet. Or Marionette, as she sometimes referred to herself as. She had two titles, it seemed. She was her own unique being, one that didn't talk much to Funtime Foxy and the toy animatronics. Although she would occasionally exchange pleasantries from time to time, she mostly kept to herself, often heading over to the office that sat empty at night, listening to an odd melody from a music box that echoed eerily through the pizzeria's halls. Nobody bothered her ever.
Funtime Foxy had tried to talk to Puppet quite a few times during that state but it always ended up with her being told to leave her in peace, which she did, respectfully, though she was still extremely curious about her. She had found herself peering into the office from the hallway on many occasions, simply wanting to know why the marionette animatronic behaved the way she did. The toys, along with Balloon Boy and JJ, were far less mysterious than she was.
"Hey, Funtime Foxy!" Toy Bonnie's cheerful voice rang through the air as he walked into Kids Cove, waving his hand. "I heard that you got new upgrades today!"
Funtime Foxy's head snapped around as she stepped off her stage and walked over to greet the blue-and-white bunny. She waved her hand- her
new
hand -as she greeted him. "Yes, I did! They finally switched out my hook for a hand. I love it! It's much more functional now.""Sweet!" Genuine happiness on the fox's behalf shone in the rabbit's green eyes. Although he was very childish and self-centred, he did seem to care a lot about his friends. Well...about his female
friends, anyway. He didn't seem to like Toy Freddy or Balloon Boy very much. Funtime Foxy knew that
he
wanted to be the star of the show and the namesake of the business. Unlike her, who'd be absolutely willing to share the spotlight with other animatronics, Toy Bonnie wanted the opposite. Although his strange complex unnerved her, she still liked him very much and considered him to be an amazing friend to her. He didn't express jealousy toward
her
even though she had her own attraction. He was strange. But he was her friend and she cared about him. She also found his antics, although sometimes annoying, to be endearing in their own way.
"It'll be much easier for me to do things now," Funtime Foxy remarked, flexing the fingers of her new hand. She was more than a little delighted that she wouldn't be hindered by the hook any longer. It made it harder for her to do certain tasks that her friends had no problem doing.
"I can actually play arcade games if I want to.""Ooh, yes! You're right!" Toy Bonnie jumped up and down. "I mean, I'll still beat you at every game but I'm happy to at least be able to play with you." His gaze lingered on her new hand for a few heartbeats. His expression was rather curious. However, his attention quickly turned to something else as a mischievous glint flared in his eyes.
"Oh dear." Funtime Foxy couldn't help but chuckle, though she felt a tiny hint of apprehension. She knew that look too well. "You're up to something right now, aren't you? Or, if you're not, you definitely are thinking of something."Toy Bonnie nodded. He giggled and then smirked. "Yeah. I'm thinking of messing with Balloon Boy.""Oh no." Funtime Foxy chuckled nervously. She took a few steps back, holding her hands up. "I don't want to be any part of this. I...um...I've learned my lesson from the
last
time I helped you with anything."The fox animatronic remembered the one and only time she helped Toy Bonnie prank Balloon Boy rather vividly. It had ended up with Balloon Boy somehow sneaking into Kids Cove during the day, taking out her eyeballs to get back at her for messing with him. He had also stolen and hid Toy Bonnie's guitar. Needless to say, she definitely regretted messing with the smaller animatronic. JJ of course, had been snickering in the background the entire time. Even though she didn't take part in any of the things her male counterpart did, she certainly enjoyed watching him drive the others nuts.
"Don't worry, I'm not gonna make you prank him," Toy Bonnie assured her. "But I have some plans of my own, that's for sure! And I know they'll work this time! He won't mess with us ever again!"

Funtime Foxy decided to be nice and not point out the fact that he always said that. She knew pretty well by this point that Balloon Boy would never change his ways. He would always be problematic and somewhat chaotic, moving and hiding things that the others needed for their performances. Trying to change him wouldn't work and Funtime Foxy had accepted this. Toy Bonnie, of course, hadn't yet learned this lesson.
"Okay. You...have fun with that." Funtime Foxy chuckled. "Tell me how it goes when you're done. For now, I'm going to go visit the others." The others, of course, were Toy Chica and Toy Freddy.
"They're still on the stage," Toy Bonnie told her. He almost sounded...envious. That, of course, made sense given how he was with them, but he looked as though he was wondering why the fox animatronic would even bother being around them. "They were chattin' away when I left.
I
have. much more important things to do. Anyway, I'll see ya later! I'll let you know how it goes!"With that, he turned and left Kids Cove. Funtime Foxy couldn't help but chuckle as she watched him head off to mess with Balloon Boy. She was sure it wouldn't go as well as the bright blue rabbit expected. She wondered if he would ever learn his lesson. He was so childish sometimes. So much so that it made him seem just as immature as the balloon-holding little bot. It made her worry for him sometimes, given that it caused most of the problems they had to face in their otherwise peaceful pizzeria. He seemed to make things more problematic for himself than he had to.Well, I'm sure he'll learn his lesson eventually. There's no need for me to worry now.
Pushing her concerns to the back of her mind, Funtime Foxy cheerfully went to visit her other friends.
As Toy Bonnie had said, his two bandmates were still talking on stage together. Toy Chica was holding the tray with her cupcake while her free hand stayed on her other hip. It sounded like she was having a debate with Toy Freddy about something. This made Funtime Foxy chuckle to herself. She had forgotten that Toy Freddy could
also
sometimes be a little problematic, given he had a short fuse and a lot of wacky things to say. Usually he lost his temper when someone disagreed with him or when he lost arcade games.
"...I'm telling you, I
swear
I lost our last game because someone rigged the game!" Toy Freddy was saying, standing with his arms crossed over his large chest.
"Yeah, like I'm
totally
going to believe that." Toy Chica shook her head and rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Honestly, I think you're the only one who actually cares about those games enough to even know
how
to rig them!""I am not!" Toy Freddy huffed back. "Toy Bonnie is
always
talking about how he wants to be better than me and how- OH! Hi, Funtime Foxy!"The bear animatronic immediately paused in his conversation- well,
argument
- with the other toy animatronic, waving to the fox as she walked up to the stage and looked up at him. She couldn't help but chuckle, amused with the antics of her silly friends.
"Hi!" She waved her new hand at him cheerfully. "I just came to visit. Toy Bonnie came to Kids Cove and told me that he's messing with Balloon Boy again."Toy Chica giggled, setting her cupcake down before hopping off the stage to join her. "Oh, yeah, at this point I think we need to intervene. That's, like,
all
he does now when he isn't trying to compete with us over everything."Toy Freddy climbed down from the stage to join them. "Hmmph. He just gets himself into trouble doing those things. Serves him right. It's probably
him
who has been rigging the arcade games lately."
"Ugh, I can't believe you're still going on about that." Toy Chica's eyes rolled nearly to the back of her head as she gave her head a half-amused, half-exasperated shake. She chuckled softly as she looked at Funtime Foxy. "He has been trying to convince me he lost an arcade game because it was rigged. He has been talking about it all night already. Honestly, for once I kinda see why Toy Bonnie went to prank Balloon Boy. He's been driving me absolutely bananas all night!" She gave the bear a playful nudge with her elbow.
"I just don't like cheaters," Toy Freddy grumbled, looking a little self-conscious. "Plus the arcade machines have been acting up. That's the only reason why I've been losing more!""Oh, please!" Toy Chica scoffed. "You're just a sore loser."
Toy Freddy opened his mouth to retort but Funtime Foxy decided to interject before they could continue their rather heated debate about why he was losing more arcade games than usual."Hey, speaking of arcade machines, I can finally play more games with you guys now!" Funtime Foxy exclaimed cheerfully, holding up both of her hands. Her metallic tail swished cheerfully behind her. "I don't have a hook for a hand anymore!""Oh, congrats!" Toy Chica's happiness sounded genuine. Her eyes lit up with joy. "Maybe now you can play and show Toy Freddy that we're all capable of winning games and that they're not just 'rigged.'" She shot the bear a somewhat smug look.
"W-well, it'll take me quite a bit to learn how to play those games," Funtime Foxy admitted, not wanting to rekindle the flames of her friends' argument. "I probably won't be truly good at them for a while.""Well, that's part of the point." Toy Chica put her hands on her hips. "It'll show Toy Freddy that anyone can learn to be good at those games eventually. It'll show him he's not the only one who can be good at games."
The toy bear animatronic huffed and looked away. "Whatever. I'll catch whoever's rigging these games eventually!"Toy Chica turned to face Funtime Foxy once again. She paused as she took in her appearance. "Oh, they've changed your model to look more like mine! To look more feminine, I mean. I like it."
The yellow chicken animatronic winked at her. She could feel her red cheeks warm at the praise. She hadn't even considered the fact that her appearance was more like hers now. That it was more feminine than it had been before.
"Oh, wow, you're right." Toy Freddy nodded, looking her up and down, which was the first time he seemed to have taken his mind off the topic of arcade games. "Wow, you look a lot nicer.""I-I do?" Funtime Foxy shifted self-consciously on her feet. Her rosy cheeks were still flushed.
"Yup." Toy Freddy nodded."I think she looked fine before
and
after." Toy Chica shot Toy Freddy a look. Funtime Foxy wasn't quite sure what it meant but it looked stern."Y-yeah, um, you're right." Toy Freddy chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "Uh, sorry. Anyway, um, I think Toy Bonnie would love to see your new look.""He already did, actually," Funtime Foxy told him, shooting him a curious look. "But...um...why him specifically?""O-oh, uh, no reason." The bear animatronic chuckled nervously once again. "A-anyway, um, wanna go play arcade games?"Toy Chica let out a giggle. "Jeez, you're pretty good at making things awkward for yourself. I guess I wouldn't mind playing some games right now...but I swear I'm gonna lose my beak if you keep going on about how games are 'rigged!'"
"I just want to learn how to play them," Funtime Foxy said quickly. "I-I don't feel like competing or anything. I just want to learn things. I mean I know I watch you all the time but I'm sure it'll be different actually taking part in them.""Oh, sure! I'd be happy to teach ya! Come on, friend!" With that, Toy Freddy was already heading over to the prize corner area."Friend? As in, singular?" Toy Chica muttered under her breath, looking amused."Which one of us do you think he's talking about?" Funtime Foxy muttered back with equal amusement in her voice.
"Could be either of us. Probably you, honestly, since he took our little debate about the arcade machines
very seriously."
Toy Chica giggled and rolled her eyes. "Anyway, let's go!"

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Funtime Foxy was tired as she returned to her stage for the rest of the night. She was going to go on sleep mode before she had to perform for the kids in her new body the next day. Her upgrading included instructions on how she'd go forward with her new non-pirate persona as well as pre-programmed actions, songs, and lines that she'd be made to cycle through throughout the day. She was more than happy that she had her own unique personality now, though she was slightly worried about how the children would feel about her differences. Would they still like her or would they miss the strange female pirate they had come to know and love? She could only hope that her programming wasn't in vain and that the children would love her as much as they did before. Or, well, more than they did before. After all, that was what the changes were for.As she stepped onto her stage, she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye. To her surprise, Toy Bonnie had returned and was coming over to talk to her. She had almost forgotten that he had spent the night messing with Balloon Boy. She chuckled to herself as she remembered that he had been planning on updating her and telling her how his little mischievous antics had gone.
"Hey," She greeted him, waving her new hand. "How'd your night go?"She saw that the rabbit animatronic had a grumpy expression. He sniffled. It was clear things hadn't gone his way. Funtime Foxy stifled a giggle, not wanting to show how amused she was that she had predicted that things wouldn't go well for him."Balloon Boy ended up taking my flipping tail!" Toy Bonnie muttered, crossing his arms as he scowled. His ears flicked in agitation. "I can't find it! I've been looking for it
everywhere!"
Funtime Foxy had to stop herself from letting out a snort of laughter. "See? This is why I don't join in on your little...pranks, I guess. It always ends up with something ridiculous happening. Usually, it ends up with something going missing.""Hmph." Toy Bonnie huffed, looking adorably humiliated. "I thought I'd teach him not to mess with
me!
One day he'll learn his lesson."As she looked at the rabbit animatronic, Funtime Foxy debated on whether or not to point out that it seemed like he also needed to learn not to mess with him. It was clear that his pride was making him do some pretty wacky things. He and Balloon Boy were locked in a seemingly endless cycle of pranking each other and just being jerks to each other overall. Balloon Boy, of course, pranked
everyone,
but he only messed with Toy Bonnie as much as he did because he was constantly antagonizing him as well. The blue bunny didn't seem to understand that he was only making things worse for himself. Before she could respond, however, something in Toy Bonnie's gaze changed. His eyes flickered toward her and his arms fell to his sides. His ears twitched and he looked suddenly very interested in her. "O-oh, wow, I just realized your hand isn't the only thing that's different about you now!"
"Huh?" She tilted her head. She then remembered that her physique had been made to look slightly different as well. "O-oh, uh, yeah! That's right! I guess they changed up my looks a bit. I look more like Toy Chica now. More...feminine, as she called it."He nodded. "Y-yeah! I like it! Don't get me wrong, you looked cool before, but now... I dunno, I think it just suits you!"Funtime Foxy felt herself growing warm from his compliments. "You really think so?""Yep!" He nodded enthusiastically. "Trust me, Funtime Foxy, you look totally amazing like this! Stunning, I'd say.""Thanks, Toy Bonnie." She felt like she was practically melting from his compliment. She hadn't ever really thought about how her appearance made others view her before. But if everyone else liked how she was now and even said that her looks
suited
her, she realized that it really was possible that the children would like her changes more after all. She hoped that would be the case."How does it feel?" He asked her. It looked like he was holding himself back from touching her. He looked like a child who saw some juicy fruit candy and was holding himself back from just snatching it. "Do you feel any different? Did they give you any other cool upgrades? Are you more advanced than even
I
am?"She chuckled. "Well, they changed my performance programming a little now. My show performance programming, I mean. Other than that I'm the same fox as I have been for a while now. I'm just...""Just what?" Toy Bonnie's ears twitched as she trailed off.
"N-nevermind." She gave her head a quick shake. "It's nothing to worry about, honestly."
"Well, I wasn't exactly
worried,
but when you put it that way..." His gaze softened. He looked uncharacteristically concerned. "Are you feeling alright? Did it hurt to get the upgrades done?""No, it's nothing like that." She tried to sound reassuring. Due to him pressing the subject, she decided there was no harm in being honest with him. He was her friend after all. "It's just...I'm a little bit worried about how the kids will see me now. I mean, will they even like me now that I've changed so much? What if they don't like me as much anymore?" She found herself spilling out her words, unable to stop herself from voicing her concerns.
"Aww, you don't have to worry about that!" Toy Bonnie's ears pricked up happily. He rested his hand on her shoulder, looking into her eyes with fierce intensity in his green eyes. Intensity and confidence. "The kids will love you! If
I
love how you are, surely they will love you too! I mean, you are absolutely stunning, Funtime Foxy. They'd have to be blind not to like you. Or they'd just have to have really,
really
bad taste. Because
I
think your new look suits you more than ever before."Funtime Foxy hadn't even realized her ears had been drooping until she felt them prick up. His words sent a burst of happiness through her circuitry. Her tail swished in excitement as her eyes widened. "Really? You mean that?""Of course I do! Why would I ever lie to you?" His high-pitched voice was filled with genuine affection. It was clear he meant everything he was saying. "Your upgrades will pay off, I'm sure of it!""Thank you," She murmured, her tail wagging happily through the air behind her. "That means a lot to me. I just hope you're right.""I
know
I'm right." Toy Bonnie winked at her. "Aren't I always?" He then looked up at the clock and let out a sigh. "Well, I'm going to go head back to the stage now. It's almost morning. I couldn't find my tail. I guess the staff are just gonna have to find it for me or get me a new one."He waved as he turned away from her. "I'll see you soon, Funtime Foxy."As he walked away, she had to stifle yet another giggle as she saw that his tail was indeed missing from him, with only its rod attachment remaining in its place. She hoped that, for his sake, there were more replacement tails for him. It looked simple enough for humans to make, given that it was just a round ball of plastic that sat on the end of the rod.
"See you soon, Toy Bonnie."

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Funtime Foxy had gone into the next day praying that Toy Bonnie's words had been true. Praying that she would be liked by all the children rather than shunned by them for no longer being a pirate-themed animatronic. Her shows now included basic birthday songs and some nice little stories for some of the youngsters who liked storytime. She was amazed at how right the rabbit animatronic had been. Not only did her looks suit her more, but she
felt
like her new theme was who she had meant to be all along. For the first time, she felt her identity finally made sense to her. She was Funtime Foxy- not the pirate fox, but a friendly storytelling fox. She sometimes wondered why her creators had decided to make her a pirate fox like her predecessor yet make her so, so different than him. It was like they had been trying to cling to his role while also making a completely different animatronic in the process. The children adored her, with some of them even pointing out her changes in a positive light. A handful of boys had muttered about how she was "less cool" without a hook, though most of the kids thought she seemed more approachable and less dangerous. They weren't afraid to come close to her to listen to her stories. Her programming no longer required her to be extremely careful to avoid hurting someone with her hook appendage that she had once swung around in an exaggerated manner during shows.
She felt liberated.
She also found that she was able to approach children now. Before, she'd always stayed on her stage after shows out of worry that someone would accidentally catch themselves on the sharp tip of her hook. But now she felt like she could walk among the human beings without having to worry about it, only making sure she didn't step on their feet or push them over by accident. Or hit someone with her tail. But she was able to keep her tail completely still when she moved about and the tip of it curled inward slightly, meaning that it likely wouldn't hurt someone even if she did accidentally hit or poke them with it.
She was more confident now than ever before. She had the staff to thank for making such amazing changes. She felt better than ever before.
Now, as the day came to a close and the kids left for the day, she went over to join the toy animatronics and tell them about her day. She felt extremely proud knowing that she could just be herself and have kids enjoy being around her without feeling misplaced with an identity that had been forced upon her. One that she felt she hadn't been programmed for, to begin with.
"Hey!" Toy Bonnie noticed her immediately when she walked into the main dining area. He set his guitar down and leaped off the stage. "How did your first day in your new body go?"Before she had a chance to respond, Toy Chica came to stand by his side. "She hasn't been given a
new
body, Toy Bonnie. She's just been given some new upgrades. She still has the same endoskeleton as before.""Tch. Same thing!" Toy Bonnie rolled his eyes and shook his head as if he thought the chicken animatronic was being absolutely delusional. He turned his attention back to Funtime Foxy. "Anyway, how was your day? Did you feel any different?"She nodded, smiling. "Yeah, actually, I did! It was...wonderful. I no longer have to take the same amount of precautions as I did when I had a hook. I...I think the children have decided I'm more approachable now.""I'm glad! See? I told you everything would go well!" Toy Bonnie, while still saying "I told you so", clearly felt genuine happiness for his friend. He put one hand dramatically over his heart. "I bet your performance was astounding! Almost as good as mine!""Of course it was!" Toy Chica took Funtime Foxy's hands in hers and gave them an affectionate squeeze. "I bet it was even better than yours, in fact, Toy Bonnie."He blinked and chuckled. "Well, I wouldn't go
that
far."However, upon looking at the fox animatronic, he seemed to grow flustered. "B-but it was pretty good, I'm sure. Positive! I can't wait till I get to see it for myself. We had a pretty huge load of kids today so I didn't get many breaks where I could roam around and visit you. I guess that's just what happens when you're the star of the show."Toy Chica rolled her eyes and shook her head. Toy Freddy marched over from the stage, sounding highly offended. "Hey! Last time I checked, this place had
my
name in it! Not yours."Funtime Foxy decided to say something unrelated before yet another lengthy debate could ensue. "Anyway, did you get your tail back, Toy Bonnie?"He snorted and shook his head. "Nope. When staff noticed my tail was missing they decided to make 'a mental note to get replacements.' That means that, for some stupid reason, they somehow managed to forget to make replacement pieces of
my
tail! Can you believe it?""Yeah, kinda. I bet they don't exactly have replacements on hand for my beak and head feathers." Toy Chica muttered. This earned her an annoyed grunt from the bunny animatronic. He glared at her.
"Well, I'm sure it'll arrive soon," Funtime Foxy tried to reassure him. "You'll just have to be a little patient. It took a long, long time for them to even get me the upgrades I was given yesterday. I just don't think they have parts on hand."Suddenly, Toy Bonnie became a little more meek. This was in stark contrast to the way he addressed Toy Chica. Or even Toy Freddy, for that matter. "Yeah, uh, you're probably right about that, Funtime Foxy.""I literally just said that." Toy Chica crossed her arms and looked at him in exasperation."You did not! You...uh...said something else." He flicked his ears and looked down at the ground, rather unusually self-conscious for once.
"Well, I basically said what she said but in different words." Toy Chica sighed. She pointed her thumb at Toy Bonnie, chuckling as she faced Funtime Foxy. "Can you believe him? I have a hard time believing we're even the same kind of animatronic sometimes. Then again, Toy Freddy is kinda like that too.""Kinda like what exactly?" Toy Freddy asked, bristling in offense despite obviously not understanding the meaning of her words.
"Nevermind." The chicken gave another exasperated head shake before glancing over at Funtime Foxy again. "Anyway, I'm glad you like your new upgrades. You look really pretty with them.""Thanks," She replied, feeling her cheeks flush again. She was still getting used to being complimented for her new form and attributes. "I...I feel pretty in them. Prettier than before, at least.""I think you've always been pretty," Toy Bonnie said, much to her surprise. But he cleared his throat. "B-but, um, yeah. You do look prettier now. N-not that you weren't before."Funtime Foxy felt a little concerned. Toy Bonnie didn't get flustered like that very often. She stared at him, which seemed to make him feel self-conscious because he immediately averted his gaze and looked off to the side. She felt concerned and wondered if it had something to do with the fact he had lost his tail and it still wasn't replaced. Part of her wanted to ask him if he'd had a rough day without it and if the kids had noticed the change. However, she felt that it would make him more embarrassed and decided to keep the question to herself.
"You know, I agree with him," Toy Chica said, her words sincere. "You were pretty before
and
after. I'm just glad you're happier now that you have these upgrades. It must be nice.""It is." She nodded, remembering the relief she'd felt upon first learning that she was going to get upgraded in the first place. "It's very nice. I feel a lot more like my true self. I feel more...authentic. I sometimes wonder why I was programmed to be the way I am even though I was made to act like a pirate. You'd think they'd just program me to fully
feel
like a pirate, you know?""Eh, the company has always been a little dumb," Toy Freddy stated rather bluntly. "I don't think they know what they're doing sometimes. Maybe they screwed up with your programming and didn't know what to do."She nodded thoughtfully. Although Toy Freddy himself wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, every once in a while he made a comment that seemed rather wise. She wondered if he had gone through the same issues as her. She supposed even Toy Bonnie had his own quirks that didn't fully line up with the role he'd been given, such as wanting to be the star of the show so much that it actually caused conflict between him and Toy Freddy.
"Anyway," The bear toy animatronic's wisdom seemed to vanish as fast as it came. "Wanna play some more arcade games with us, Funtime Foxy?
You seem to be a fast learner."Her ears pricked up. She had quite enjoyed playing arcade games with him and Toy Chica the previous night. He had even paced himself so that he wasn't too competitive as she learned how to play games with her new appendage. It had been a blast. It looked like Toy Bonnie would be joining them as well, which made her happy. She liked it when they all hung out together. "Sure! I'd love to play some more arcade games tonight."With that, the four of them headed off to play games for the rest of the night. And, as they did, Funtime Foxy felt even more conviction in her mechanical heart. She felt that she really had a proper place among her friends.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

The next few weeks were wonderful for Funtime Foxy. She was beginning to get very good at both board games and arcade games. She was even able to beat Toy Freddy at certain games now, much to his horror. Even though he still seemed to think they were "rigged against him" things were still light and playful between the group. She no longer just had to sit by and watch or fumble around with one hand, unable to properly play with them. She was free. Her role as an entertainer was also more straightforward than ever. The way her programming made her feel seemed to make it so that fewer glitches occurred. It was as though the flaws with her programming had been connected to her identity in some way. An identity that had been muddled from the day she'd been created. She felt much more at ease in her body and mind now that she was able to be herself rather than a mix between a gentle female fox and a gruff pirate fox. It made the joy she expressed to the children even more genuine. She greatly enjoyed seeing the smiles on their faces, and hearing them talk about how they loved her. Those who hadn't been interested in the whole pirate theme just seemed to think she was pretty. She enjoyed the new form of attention she was being given and vowed to do whatever she could to make sure she kept smiles on the faces of patrons. They were there to see
her
as who she was.
Now, she was roaming around Kids Cove, chatting to children with prerecorded lines. The sentience within the animatronics was somewhat limited during the day. Although they could wander around as much as they wanted, their voices were stuck to their stage mode settings. It made sense. She assumed it would be bad for business if they were forced to witness the arguments the main band got into whenever they were given full accessibility to themselves.
"I hope you are having a Faz-tastic day!" She exclaimed, stopping beside a pair of siblings who looked like they'd be interested in her. She gave them a friendly wave, her tail swishing through the air."I remember when you used to be scared of these things," One of the siblings, an older brother, said somewhat mockingly to the other child, his younger sister. "You used to throw a fit whenever I tried to get you to go near them!"
"I'm not scared anymore!" The girl said huffily, crossing her arms. "I dunno why you always feel the need to bring it up."If Funtime Foxy could have had full access to her voicebox, she likely would've chuckled openly. These particular siblings were in her database and their bickering reminded her a lot of her fellow animatronics. She could recall when the little girl, Alexis, had been terrified of her and the other animatronics. She had refused to get anywhere near the stages and had almost punched her brother out when he'd made her go see Puppet for the first time. But it was clear she wasn't the same trembling girl she was back then. She had grown out of her fear of animatronics, it seemed."Oh, you're not scared of them anymore?" Her brother, Kevin, snorted in disbelief. "Why don't you prove it then?"
"Okay! I will." Alexis stood up and grasped Funtime Foxy's forearm, much to her surprise. "Remember how you told me that the animatronics look like they can be taken apart and put back together?"Kevin raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, what of it?""Well, watch this..." Without warning, she turned her full attention to Funtime Foxy's arm and used both hands to twist it near the joint.A shiver of foreboding ran down her endoskeleton. But there was nothing she could do to stop the girl, not without hurting her. And her program
did
stop her from being able to hurt children in any way. Instead, she was forced to stand motionless as Alexis grunted and managed to rip her arm right out of her socket. Her lower arm, to be precise.
Pain seared through Funtime Foxy's body and she wanted to howl in agony. But she couldn't. She had to sit there and take what was happening to her as her programming forced her to stay in place. The pain only went away once the connected wires in her arm were severed completely.
"H-hey, you can't do that!" Kevin gasped, his eyes widening as he looked at what his sister had done. "You're gonna get us in trouble!""No, I'm not!" Alexis smirked. She then turned to shove the arm right back into place. It took a bit of effort but she was able to join the joints of Funtime Foxy's arm back together. "See? It snaps right back into place!""Error..." That was the only thing Funtime Foxy could say as she stared at the two children, horrified by what had happened. Yes, she had wanted people to feel more comfortable being around her. But she didn't want them to do this!
Kevin didn't seem to care about her error message. Instead, he looked intrigued by what had happened. "Oh, wow! I wasn't wrong, huh? Cool! It looks like its entire body can be taken apart and put back together. Like some sort of puzzle!"The child moved to wrench Funtime Foxy's
entire arm
out of her socket."Error." She couldn't move. She felt helpless, completely at the mercy of whatever these two children wanted to do to her. Anxiety whirred in her circuits and she wished she could just tell them to stop even if she couldn't move. Once again, pain shot through her entire body to warn her that she was being compromised. But that warning did nothing, as she couldn't stop what was happening no matter how badly she wanted to.
"Watch this," Kevin smirked and separated the upper arm from the lower arm. He then placed only the lower arm and hand onto Funtime Foxy's shoulder.
Even though the pain had been severed due to the wires being damaged, Funtime Foxy's arm still felt entirely weird. Her sensors were reminding her that this was not how she was supposed to be. In her error mode, the poor fox animatronic had no choice but to remain still and endure what was happening. As long as she had sentience alongside her stage mode, she still had to endure pain while also being helpless to prevent it from occurring.
"Ooh, what are you guys doing? It looks fun!" Another girl came over to join them. Mischief sparkled in her blue eyes, reminding Funtime Foxy a lot of Balloon Boy and Toy Bonnie whenever they were about to get up to no good. This was a girl who was new to the pizzeria, according to her database. A girl named Belle.
"We found out we can take the robot apart and put it back together!" Alexis replied cheerfully.
"Like a puzzle?" Bella asked, scanning the animatronic up and down."Yeah, exactly!" Alexis replied. She reached out to grab Funtime Foxy but, as she did so, someone called out."Alexis! Kevin! It's time to go home now!" The father of the two siblings was calling out for them from just outside the room.
"Aww, dang it." Alexis pouted. She turned to Bella. "Anyway, yeah, you can play with her like a puzzle! She doesn't have a scary hook anymore, so she seems pretty safe! Have fun!"As she and Kevin left, Funtime Foxy felt a wave of relief wash over her. She was safe from those two siblings. However, Bella turned her attention to her, seemingly unbothered by the fact they had left. It looked like she wanted to play with her as well. She remained completely motionless and helpless as she internally screamed for her not to touch her.Of course, Bella couldn't hear her pleas. She saw her as nothing more than an object. She took Funtime Foxy's upper forearm and looked up at her. She then smirked devilishly before grabbing her remaining hand and wrenching it off. Pain once again shot through her circuits as she stood motionlessly in place. The girl then shoved her upper forearm where her hand should have been, making her have one extra long limb. She then shoved her hand in place on the end of it, grinning mischievously. After that, she took off and left Funtime Foxy there.
Even though she felt no pain at the moment, the fox animatronic would be paralyzed for an hour without being able to roam free due to her programming. When in stage mode, her body would freeze up and prevent her from roaming if she sustained any damage. This was to prevent her from causing harm to any kids in any way. Even though her stage mode and free roam mode were intertwined, stage mode took priority and forced her body to shut down for at least an hour or until staff fixed the issue. But the free mode aspect of her body that allowed her to think and be somewhat sentient was still very, very much awake in her mind. As a result, she was suffering more greatly than she ever had before. She could only hope that no other children would mess with her during the last hour until the place closed for the night, and that staff would come to her rescue soon.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Thankfully, the staff saw Funtime Foxy's damage and took her to be repaired. This involved shutting her off entirely, making it so that she was unconscious and no longer sentient as she was brought into parts and service. When she woke up, her censors showed that she had been out of commission for two whole days. She supposed it could have been worse. She was just glad that the ordeal was over and that she'd been placed on her stage in the evening rather than during the morning before she had to entertain the children. She remained completely still, sitting slouched on the stage floor with the curtains closed. The darkness seemed to comfort her, reminding her that she wouldn't have to be around children for a while still. Since she had been shut off for days now, her mind hadn't yet been able to come to terms with what had happened to her. She was struggling to comprehend what had happened. Nothing like that had ever occurred during her days as a pirate. So why had Alexis been brazen enough to rip her arm out of her socket? Why had
three
kids done that at the same time? She flexed her fingers and arms, relieved to know that
all
of it had been fixed. Her wires were connected, allowing her to feel pain signals when something went wrong. It was a huge relief. Still, she was still in too much shock to be able to feel fully happy about it. She pulled her knees to her chest and took in a deep mechanical breath, trying to put her mind at ease. She sat on the stage floor for some time, hoping that she wouldn't be seeing those three particular children anytime soon.
At some point, the sound of footsteps made her ears twitch. She lifted her head and tried to figure out who was coming into Kids Cove. Whoever it was was making their way straight over to the stage. She knew it wasn't Puppet, JJ, or Balloon Boy, nor was it a human. It was one of the toy animatronics.
She waited as they approached. They paused in front of the stage before opening the curtain, revealing themselves. It was Toy Bonnie.A look of relief washed over the blue rabbit's face. His green eyes were filled with happiness. "Oh, good, you're all fixed up! How are you feeling, Funtime Foxy?""I'm...feeling better. I mean my body is no longer broken and I feel like I did before." She stretched her arms out in front of her and looked at them, remembering how the children had laughed as they'd disconnected them.
"That's good! I've never had anyone else other than Balloon Boy sometimes take my tail and ears off. That must've sucked!" Toy Bonnie looked down at her as he spoke. However, a look of concern crossed his face. "You...don't look like yourself. I-I mean you look like
you
but you're acting...different. Are you okay, Funtime Foxy? Are you sure you're fixed?"She felt a tiny bit surprised by Toy Bonnie's concern. She had never seen him worried about anyone other than himself before. While he was still a good friend, he often had trouble putting others before himself and was terrible at reading the room. But now it looked like he was being sincere. He was truly checking in on her. That made her curious, though she didn't say her thoughts out loud. She sighed before answering his question. "Yes, I'm fixed. They repaired me entirely and I'm back to running properly. It's just...""Just what?" He asked, cocking his head to the side when she trailed off. "Is something wrong?""Well...it wasn't fun," She admitted softly to him. "Being pulled apart like that with no real way to get away from the situation. My safety protocols wouldn't let me leave... I wouldn't have hurt the kids, I just wanted to get away!""I've never had that happen to me," Toy Bonnie admitted. "But that doesn't sound like fun. Not at all. It's a shame you couldn't just punt the kid for treating you like that!"Funtime Foxy chuckled. "I didn't want to
hurt
them! Though I bet you'd hurt them if you could.""Only if they were treating me like that!" He huffed. "Who the hell do those brats think they are?"There was a long pause. When he spoke, he was unusually quiet. "I wish I could have helped you. If I had known those little stinkers were taking you apart like that I would have come done something. Probably nothing too bad but I would have helped them get away. I know it probably hurt.""Yeah, it did," She admitted with a sigh. "Kind of. When they ripped off my limbs I could feel it before my nervous wires disconnected entirely. It wasn't pleasant...""Well, you're alright now!" Toy Bonnie's brief moment of being soft and quiet dissipated as quickly as it had arrived. "I'm sure none of those brats will ever do something like that to you ever again! Now, come on, why don't you hang out with the band?"Funtime Foxy's ears pricked up and she nodded, feeling a lot better. He was right. They probably wouldn't take her apart like that again. She'd probably be safe. Now, she wanted to wind down and forget about the incident by having fun with her friends. "Sure!"
