Usagi’s hand fit easily in hers; she fit easily in her arms. He wanted to protect her; she wanted to save her from Galaxia. It wasn’t fair that unlike Kakyuu she could not simply run to safety. Silver Millenium sat at the center of it all.The palace she had heard of, silver and shining across the universe seemed like a prison now. A prison where she reached her hands through the bars, reaching for Usagi, for Sailor Moon. Fate never was a fair judge. It was hard to believe they were one and the same; some might say the same of Seiya and Fighter. They both knew the truth. He wished, sometimes, that Usagi had only known Seiya; when they both danced between smoke and mirrors, her hands in his. When there were no tears; when she clung to him out of fright and not fear. That he might know her. And her, him.He might take her hand, lead her through those courtyard gates, past the guardians that surrounded her, far into the starfields. For all the light of hope had offered, could it not, too, offer her freedom?Freedom from fate; that he was her prince, eyes staring down at the ground below, at the beautiful Earth, that was the way it was to be. That as far as he might take her, she followed. Perhaps that is how their star seeds arrived at those planets. That the universe wished they never met; and yet it wished they had. Chaos brought them together, anyway. That had to be the work of fate more than random chance.“You should visit again.”“Of course, bunhead.”Usagi smiled.Caged birds were like that, singing happily in their gilded cages. Did not he, too, clip her very own wings?“Will you miss Earth?”He scratched his bangs back into place. “I’ll miss everyone.”Seiya wanted to say, "I’ll miss you." Her desire to say it felt suffocating, too close. In the light of her, of reality, it was easy to see the bars around her now. Had she not realized that she, too, was caged?"I'll miss you, too," Usagi smiled. "You should go join them."She looked back at Kakyuu, Healer, Maker. The older Solar Guardians were watching nearby. It was late, the moon low in the sky; it was better to go under the cover of night. At least she got to see the beautiful moon one last time."As you wish, bunhead."
