Will and Nico looked up at the beautiful night sky as they sat around a crackling fire. They were in the mountains after deciding to take a camping trip together. It was a little chilly, and Will had his arm wrapped around Nico's shoulders."There's Orion's Belt," said Will, pointing out the three stars in the sky. "That's my mom's favorite. She always points it out when we're together."Nico smiled. "I like that one, too. I just love stars in general."Will grinned. "You're my star," he said in a faux sappy voice. Nico groaned, resting his head on Will's shoulder. "Never say that again," He mumbled."Oh come on, you love my sappy nicknames for you," Will said, laughing softly."They're horrible!" Nico exclaimed, but he was laughing, too. Will smiled, pulling him closer. He looked down at the fire, then remembered something. "Hey, I'm gonna go grab the marshmallows real quick."Nico nodded, watching him go into their tent. He came back out with a box of marshmallows and some marshmallow sticks. Nico smiled and took the box, opening it. He grabbed one, handing it to Will, who put it on a stick. They made another stick. Will sat down next to Nico again, and they both started roasting their marshmallow."How do you like your marshmallow, my little ball of darkness?" Will asked teasingly.Nico rolled his eyes, ignoring the nickname. "I like them golden brown, just the perfect balance between the roasted taste and the taste of the marshmallow."Will gasped. "That's blasphemous! The only correct way to roast a marshmallow is to roast it until it had caught on fire and is black."Nico whipped his head around. "You like your marshmallows burnt?! Are you a sociopath?""I'm the sociopath? You're the one who wants them 'golden brown'!" said Will.Nico shook his head, taking his marshmallow out of the fire, now that it was how he desired it. "It's good! What about you eat this one, and I'll eat your burnt one? Then we can decide whose is better."Will nodded. "Deal," he said. A few seconds later, his marshmallow was literally on fire, so he took it from the fire, before blowing it out and handing the stick to Nico. Nico handed his perfect marshmallow to Will."On three," said Will. "One, two, three!"They both ate the marshmallows. Nico made a face of disgust, while Will's face was neutral. "It's ok," said Will. "I still like my burnt one better."Nico, on the other hand, was this close to spitting it out. "It just tastes like ash! How could you eat this?!"Will laughed, wrapping his arm around Nico's shoulders again. "I think we should stick to our own marshmallow preferences.""Agreed," said Nico. They both each made a handful of more marshmallows, until they were clutching their stomachs. "Gods, way too much sugar," groaned Will.Nico nodded in agreement. "Wayyyyy too much sugar."They both looked at each other and laughed. "I'm about to have a sugar crash. We should head into the tent," said Nico. Will stood up, grabbing the marshmallows and sticks. "I'll put these up. Can you stop the fire?"Nico nodded and got up. He threw some water on the fire, and covered it with dirt. Will came out of the tent where he had put the marshmallows up. He took Nico's hand and they both entered the tent. They got cozy in their individual sleeping bags (which were right next to each other). Will shut off the lamp and looked over at Nico."I love you, death boy," he said, smiling.Nico could practically hear Will's smile in his voice. He laughed softly. "I love you, my significant annoyance."Will laughed, moving closer to Nico in his sleeping bag. They both eventually fell into a peaceful sleep under the cool night sky.
