Y/N parked the SUV outside the bar, the quiet hum of the engine the only sound in the stillness of the street. The dashboard clock blinked 12:47 a.m., and Y/N sighed, her hand rubbing the back of her neck. It had been a long day, and all she wanted now was to go home and collapse into bed. The door to the bar swung open, and JJ stumbled out with a bright laugh, Garcia trailing behind her with a wide grin.“Y/N!” Garcia called, waving her over. “Your drunk blonde awaits.” Y/N climbed out of the car, meeting them halfway as JJ practically fell into her arms. “Peanut Bob! You came for me!” JJ slurred, her arms looping around Y/N’s neck. Y/N raised an eyebrow. “Peanut Bob?” JJ giggled, swaying in her spot. “You’re nutty... and you remind me of SpongeBob. But, like... hotter. And with less... squareness.”Garcia snorted, handing JJ’s purse to Y/N. “She’s been calling you that for the last twenty minutes. You’re a hero for coming to get her.” “She’s my problem now,” Y/N replied with a small smirk, gently steering JJ toward the car. JJ clung to Y/N, her words a nonsensical string of compliments as Y/N helped her into the backseat. “You’re the best, Peanut Bob. Did you know that? The best!”“Yeah, yeah, I know,” Y/N said, buckling her in. “Try not to throw up back here, alright?” JJ gave her a thumbs-up, immediately distracted by the radio as Y/N shut the door and turned back to Garcia. “Thanks for keeping an eye on her.” “Anytime,” Garcia replied with a wink. “Good luck!” The next stop was the gun range to pick up Emily. Y/N pulled into the parking lot, spotting Emily leaning against a bench, her range bag slung over her shoulder. She was scrolling through her phone, and her head lifted as the SUV approached. Emily opened the trunk, tossing her bag inside before climbing into the passenger seat. She paused, glancing back at JJ, who was sprawled out in the backseat, humming a tune under her breath.“Peanut Bob picked me up!” JJ declared with a wide grin. Emily blinked, turning to Y/N with an amused smirk. “Peanut Bob?” “Don’t ask,” Y/N muttered, gripping the steering wheel a little tighter as she pulled back onto the road. Emily leaned back in her seat, her sharp gaze flicking to Y/N’s hands. “You okay?” she asked softly. “Just tired,” Y/N replied, her tone even but clipped.Emily didn’t press further, though her eyes lingered on Y/N’s tense posture. Instead, she turned her attention to JJ, who was rambling about the bar’s karaoke disaster and someone spilling a drink on her. It wasn’t long before JJ’s stories devolved into soft giggles, her head lolling against the window. By the time they got home, JJ was half-asleep, mumbling incoherent words as Y/N helped her out of the car. Emily grabbed her bag from the trunk and followed them inside, her brow furrowing as she watched Y/N’s stiff movements. Y/N guided JJ to the bedroom, sitting her on the edge of the bed. “Arms up,” she instructed gently, pulling off JJ’s shirt and swapping it for one of her soft, oversized t-shirts.JJ grinned sleepily. “I love you, Peanut Bob. You’re the best.” Y/N chuckled softly, tucking her under the blankets. “Go to sleep, Jayje.” JJ was already snoring by the time Y/N shut the door and stepped into the hallway. In the kitchen, Emily was waiting, leaning against the counter with a familiar tin in her hand. Y/N raised an eyebrow as she approached. “Seriously?” Y/N asked, nodding to the tin. Emily smirked, holding up one of Y/N’s pre-rolled joints. “You gave me an escape when I needed it. You gave JJ an escape too. Now I’m returning the favor.”Y/N sighed, running a hand through her hair. “I wasn’t planning on smoking tonight.” Emily lit the joint and handed it to her. “You weren’t planning on being a chauffeur tonight, either.” Y/N hesitated before taking a slow drag, the tension in her shoulders easing almost immediately. She exhaled, a soft smile tugging at her lips. “You’ve got a point.” Emily stepped behind Y/N, her hands gently pressing against her shoulders. “Henry give you a hard time tonight?”Y/N let out a tired laugh, taking another drag. “He was... rowdier than usual. Lots of questions about the stars and planets. You know, the big ones.” Emily chuckled, her thumbs kneading into Y/N’s stiff muscles. “Sounds like a lot.” Y/N sighed, “It was. But he’s a good kid. Just... nonstop.” She recalled. “Which is why you need this,” Emily murmured, her hands working down Y/N’s back, coaxing the tension out of her muscles.Y/N sighed, melting under Emily’s touch as she finished the joint. She turned her head slightly, glancing at Emily. “Thanks, Em.” “Anytime.” Emily pressed a soft kiss to Y/N’s temple before stepping back. “Now, let’s get you to bed.” Emily led Y/N to their bedroom, gently nudging her to sit on the edge of the bed. Y/N huffed a small laugh as Emily crouched down, undoing her boots and sliding them off.“You don’t have to—” “Hush,” Emily interrupted, tugging Y/N’s shirt off and replacing it with one of her softer sleep shirts. She brushed her lips over Y/N’s shoulder. “Just let me take care of you tonight.” Y/N smiled faintly, her eyes already half-closed as Emily guided her under the covers. “You’re too good to me.” Emily climbed in beside her, wrapping an arm around Y/N. “Goodnight, Peanut Bob.” Y/N groaned softly, but the sound was drowned out by Emily’s quiet laughter as the tension of the night finally melted away.
