Hope’s Peak Academy is a school equipped with dorms so the students can live there full time. Jin Kirigiri is fortunate that his daughter attends and he can see her at his job, but for the parents of the other students they see their children far less often. So the headmaster decided to have a parents’ day where all his students could have their parents come to the school and look around, something that many of the Ultimates were excited about, many talking about the upcoming event.Such as Makoto, Taka, Toko, and Byakuya who were all studying together in the library.“I’m really excited for parents’ day.” Makoto told his friends. “My mom and dad said they were going to bring my sister Komaru with them.”“You should tell Hina and Hifumi about that.” Taka suggested. “They could ask their parents to bring their siblings too.”“W-what about you master?” Toko turned to Byakuya. “Are y-your parents bringing all your siblings too?”Byakuya rolled his eyes. “I don’t consider those who lost to me and were exiled my siblings. Also my parents are far too busy to come to such a trivial event, my butler may come though.”“M-my moms and dad aren’t c-coming either.” Toko giggled. “I have s-something in common with master.”“You’re parents should make more of an effort to see you!” Taka declared. “My father is very devoted to his job, but he’s still taking the day off work to come see me.”“What is your dad’s job Taka?” Makoto asked trying to change the subject. “You’ve never mentioned it.”“Oh my father is a police officer!” Taka beamed.“He’s w-what?!” Toko screamed. “How c-could you do this to me?! How c-could you bring a cop to this school?!”“Toko why are you so upset?” Taka asked bewildered.“I don’t w-want to go to jail piglet!” Toko yelled before running out of the library.“Uhhh…” Makoto stalled for a moment. “Why would Toko need to worry about being arrested?”Byakuya sighed. “Because she has dissociative identity disorder and her alter is the famed serial killer Genocide Jack.”“Byakuya that’s not funny!” Taka snapped. “You shouldn’t joke about dissociative identity disorder, it would be offensive to people who actually have dissociative identity disorder!”Byakuya rolled his eyes. “You are too stupid for me to continue this conversation.”-Toko had gathered a meeting in her room, a meeting of criminals.Mondo, Hiro, and Celeste stared at her expectantly. “Toko why have you summoned us here?” Celeste asked.“This parents’ day t-there’s going to be a cop b-brought to our class!” Toko yelled. “If we don’t w-want to go to jail then Mondo n-needs to get his motorcycle ready for four so we can all go s-somewhere else for the day!”“Wait, who’s parent is a cop?” Mondo asked.Celeste side eyed him. “Your boyfriend’s father is a police officer, how did you not know this?”“Oh shit.”“Yeah o-oh shit is right Mondo!” Toko yelled. “You’re a gang leader, Celeste is a g-gambler, Hiro’s a conman, and I’m- just a concerned friend t-trying to look after you.”“Hey I’m not a conman!” Hiro protested. “All my fortunes are legit!”Toko glared at him. “Makoto told me a-about how you wanted him to sell his organs b-because you needed money, I don’t know w-what you’re up to but you should be in jail for it.”Hiro winced. “Harsh. True, but harsh.”Celeste twirled her hair. “It is rather peculiar that Hope’s Peak wanted me here as the Ultimate Gambler, when gambling is illegal in Japan.”Mondo sighed. “Fuyuhiko from class 77 is the Ultimate Yakuza, this school is messed up.”“Mondo focus!” Toko yanked on his jacket. “Do you r-really think a police officer would approve of you dating his son?! You’re t-the one he’ll arrest first!”“Toko, I don’t believe he can just arrest us on sight.” Celeste inspected her nails. “As long as none of us do anything illegal in front of him we’ll be fine.”“Yeah… You’re right…” Toko gave a shaky smile. “It’s n-not like I’ll sneeze and suddenly b-become a serial killer.”Celeste narrowed her eyes. “That was oddly specific.”“Whatever!” Toko threw her hands up. “Criminal meeting over! You c-can get out of my room now!”After Toko shoved them all out Mondo turned to Celeste in the hallway.“Do you really think Taka’s dad will flip out about us dating?” He asked.Celeste looked him dead in the eye. “Mondo not only do I think that, I would bet on it.”“Shit.”Hiro slung his arm around Mondo’s shoulder. “If you want a better prediction than Celeste’s betting, you could pay me for a fortune, I’ll even give you a discount.”“Save your money Mondo.” Celeste advised. “You don’t need a fortune to know how screwed you are.”-Hiroko Hagakure was happy when she received an invitation for Hope’s Peaks parents’ day. It was nice to come to her son’s school and gather with him and his classmates and all their families in one place. She was thrilled seeing her son had made friends with his classmates, even if they were all so much younger than him.And when she saw a tall drink of water talking to the Headmaster, she was ecstatic to see he didn’t have a wedding ring.“Psst, Hiro see that tall man over there.” Hiroko whispered to her son and subtly pointed.“Oh you mean Taka’s dad?” He whispered back.“Does your friend Taka ever talk about his mom?” She asked.“Um…” Hiro hesitated for a second. “He never really said anything about her.”“Do your mom a favor and go ask him what’s up.” Hiroko nudged her son a little bit.Hiro looked confused. “Okay?”Hiroko smiled as she watched him walk off. Such a perfect son to do what she asked. She just needed some info, it never hurt to have to more intel before using her womanly power.-Hiro walked over to Taka as he was tugging on Mondo’s arm.“Mondo, once my father is done talking to Headmaster Kirigiri I want to introduce you to him!”“Uhh….” Mondo grimaced glancing around the room full of people. “Are you sure it’s a good idea to have me meet him in front of everybody? What if there’s… a scene.”Taka looked confused. “Why would there be a scene? If you’re worried about him not liking our relationship, my father has always been very supportive of my sexuality.”“I’m less worried about him not liking you having a boyfriend and more worried about him not liking you having me as your boyfriend.”“But Mondo, you’re wonderful!” Taka insisted. “I would show you with physical affection right now if it wasn’t for the pda rules of the classroom.”“Aw that’s so romantic!” At Hiro’s interruption both boys turned to him startled.“Hiro how long have you been listening to our conversation?!” Taka gasped.“Uhhh.” Hiro scratched the side of his head. “A few minutes.”Mondo groaned. “What the hell do you want?”“Oh well, I saw that only Taka’s dad came, so I want to ask where his mom was.”Taka looked a bit uncomfortable. “She’s not here, my parents divorced when I was young and I haven't seen her since.”Hiro patted him on the back. “That’s rough buddy, I can relate. I haven't seen my dad since my parents split cause he burned our house down.”“He what?!” Both Mondo and Taka yelled in unison.“I’m pretty sure it was an accident.” Hiro waved them off. “Anyway I’m gonna go talk to my mom now.”As Hiro walked off Taka turned back to Mondo. “Was that…. A normal social interaction?”“No.”“What were we talking about again?” Taka tried to regain his train of thought. “Oh that’s right, you shouldn’t be nervous about meeting my father.”“Look Taka…” Mondo rubbed that back of his head. “What if you introduced me as your friend, and then if he likes me you tell him we’re dating.”“He already knows though. I told him all about you on the phone and he said he was very interested in meeting you.”“Shit.”-Hiro was on his way back to his mom when he bumped into Toko.“Oops sorry I nudged you a bit there!” Hiro dusted off her shoulder.Toko abruptly grabbed him by the front of his shirt. “Hiro! I n-need you to make a prediction!”“Uhh… Okay?” A business man should never turn down a client. “You get the friends discount but it’ll still be pretty pricey.”“You’re doing it f-for free or I’m telling Taka’s dad a-about you trying to sell organs!” She pointed at where the police officer was still talking to the Headmaster.“Okay! Okay! I’ll give you a prediction on the house!” Hiro would rather avoid getting interrogated by a cop in front of his mom and all his friends.“S-see over there!” Toko pointed to where Byakuya was talking to Makoto… and Makoto’s sister? Hiro heard she was coming.“Yeah, Byakuya’s talking to Makoto and uh I thinks her name’s Komaru?”“It’s Omaru! And I can’t have another girl getting close to Master! I need you to do a prediction of if anything will happen between them!”“Oh this is…. Yikes.” Hiro took a step back cringing. “Toko I don’t think Byakuya getting close to girls is what’s getting in the way of you being together.”“W-what is that s-supposed to mean?”Hiro sighed. “Look Toko, guys… talk. And from what we talk about, Byakuya’s never shown much interest in girls.”“Y-you think Master is gay?”“I didn’t say that!” Hiro wasn’t trying to seriously out anyone he was just making an observation. “This is just an educated guess. Gay? Aromantic? I don’t know, he just doesn’t talk about girls when the other guys are.”“That doesn’t mean anything. T-tons of guys don’t talk about girls and that d-doesn’t mean they’re not into them.”Hiro put his hand on Toko’s shoulder. “The only other guy I’ve ever met who hasn’t talked about girls is Taka.”Toko sighed. “I k-knew which way he swinged w-way before he started dating Mondo. T-that’s why I tried to set him up with Makoto.”“You what?”“I k-kept making plans w-with both of them to study together and then w-wouldn’t show up, so it w-would just be the two of them.”Hiro tried not to let it show on his face how insane he thought that was.“B-but then Makoto invited Master to study with them and w-when he was going, I s-started going too.”Hiro scratched his head. “So uhhh. That’s how you four started your study group?”Toko nodded.“So do you still want a prediction or….” Hiro tried to inch away.Toko grabbed his sleeve. “T-ten years from now… What w-will my last name be?”Hiro pulled out his crystal ball and looked into it.“Uhhh. Naegi?”“I-I don’t w-want to marry Makoto!”Hiro put his hands up. “There’s also his sister!”Toko seemed to consider it. “I guess Omaru is above average in the looks department… just a little bit though.”While Toko was lost in thought Hiro made his escape.Nothing today could possibly be weirder than that conversation right? His mom smiled at him as he walked up to her. “Did you find out what I wanted to know?”“Uh yeah, Taka said his parents got divorced when he was little and he hasn’t seen his mom since. Why do you care about that though?”“Don’t worry about, go have fun with your friends, meet some of their parents.” She patted him on the cheek. “And try to get used to the idea of having a step father and step brother.”“Wait what?”Hiro didn’t get a reply. His mom just walked off towards Taka’s dad.So maybe this day could get weirder.-Takaaki was talking to Headmaster Kirigiri about his… concerns for some of the Ultimates at this school, the Ultimate Yakuza? What’s next an Ultimate Assassin? He didn’t want his son around anyone dangerous. But before they could get past small talk the conversation was cut short when a boy with white hair burst into the room.“Hello! I’m Nagito Komaeda, I’m from another class but I wanted to thank the parents of the Ultimates for bringing such hope into the world, you are all such great stepping stones!”A short blonde boy ran in after him and started trying to drag Nagito out by the back of his shirt.“Nagito! I told you this was fucking weird when you said this in our class! Don’t go saying it to the other classes too!”“Um excuse me, I should go handle that.” Headmaster Kirigiri hurried off, rushing the two boys out of the classroom, closing the door behind him.“Are you disappointed in him?”Takaaki was startled by the purple haired girl that popped up next to him, but gave her a hesitant nod nonetheless.“I am too.”She then abruptly walked away. Before Takaaki could even start to process that a pink haired woman approached him.“So, ya like jazz?”Takaaki blinked.“The strong silent type? I like it.”She pulled a piece of paper out of her pocket and handed it to him.“I know how tough dating can be as a single parent, give me a call if you ever want to talk to someone who understands.”She gave him a wink and a pat on the shoulder before walking off.“Father your face is red, are you feeling sick?”“Taka!” Takaaki tried not to show how startled he was. “How long have you been there?”“I was walking up to you just as Hiro’s mother was leaving, it’s nice that she wants to be friends with you.”“Yeah…” Takaaki was fighting off his blush again. “Friends.”“Anyway father, I would like to introduce you to Mondo!” Taka dragged the nervous boy forward by the arm.“Nice to meet you.” He managed to choke out.Takaaki stared at him for a moment. “I’ve read your criminal record.”Mondo’s pupils shrunk. “That’s…. great.”Takaaki looked around the room. There was a boy with glasses showing off lewd pictures he drew, a redheaded boy with a ton of piercings, and a blonde boy who was acting like an insufferable asshole. He looked back at Mondo. “My son could do better than you but I suppose he could do worse too.”“Uhh, thanks I guess.” Mondo shrugged.“I’m so glad you two are getting along!” Taka beamed.-Makoto was having a nice time, his parents liked his friends and it was actually kinda cool talking to Byakuya’s butler. He was trying not to laugh at how many questions Komaru was asking Aloysius about his profession, comparing it to what she had read in manga, when he was yanked back by someone pulling on his hoodie.“I n-need to borrow Makoto f-for a minute!” Toko stuttered before dragging him off.“Toko what’s going on?” Makoto asked. “Are you still afraid of being arrested?”“No, no, it just…” Toko sighed. “I’m s-smart enough to know when I’m beat, after seeing h-how much time he spends with y-you it’s clear Master- I mean Byakuya has chosen you over me.”Makoto blinked. “What?”“I can’t b-believe you’ve done this to me, I m-mean after I tried to set you up with Taka.” Toko started to ramble. “It’s not my f-fault you fumbled and he started dating Mondo.”“When did I want to date Taka? I never said I wanted to date Taka.”Toko shrugged. “B-but I can’t blame you for stabbing a friend in t-the back to be with Byakuya, I mean I would too. So I’ll forgive you if you s-set me up with your above average sister.”“You want to go out with Komaru now?”Toko started blushing. “I also want you to let me watch if you are ever intimate with Byakuya.”Makoto felt like he was having a stroke. “No! Toko I- Byakya and I aren't- I don’t know where you got all these ideas!”Makoto was cut off when two people came into the classroom. “Taeko? Is Taeko Yasuhiro in this class?”“Uhhh, we have a Yasuhiro Hagekure?” Leon pointed at Hiro. The woman stepped forward. “We got a letter from the Headmaster about parents’ day, our daughter Taeko should be in class 78, she’s the Ultimate Gambler.”Makoto saw that Celeste looked like a deer in the headlights.Hifumi hesitantly put down the drawings he was showing his family. “Miss Ludenberg is the Ultimate Gambler.”“Ludenberg?” The man finally got a good look at Celeste across the room. “Oh Taeko honey, are you still doing this?”“I have no idea who you are!” Celeste shouted. “My name is Celestia Ludenberg and my parents could not attend today because they are busy in Europe!”The couple looked hurt before the woman spoke again. “We brought Grand Bois Chéri, he’s in the car if you want to see him.”Celeste hesitated for a moment. “I’m not Taeko, I have no interest in seeing your cat!”“Celeste.” Kyoko narrowed her eyes. “They never said that Grand Bois Chéri was a cat.”“Ah.” Celeste’s eye twitched. “I see. Well then, goodbye.”Celeste then walked over to the window, opened it, and climbed out to run across the courtyard.“Miss Yasuhiro- I mean Ludenberg! Wait for me!” Hifumi ran after her, but struggled to climb out the window as she did.“Mom, dad, Fujiko!” Hifumi turned back to yell for his family. “Help me go after her!”A moment later Headmaster Kirigiri walked into the room. “I’m sorry I had to leave, but I brought Nagito back to his classroom-”He saw Hifumi’s family trying to help him out the window.“What’s going on?”Kyoko glared at him. “Father, when you sent out invitations for parent’s day, did you ever consider that some students might not want their parents to show up?”Makoto had a sinking feeling this was the last time Hope’s Peak would do this.“Achoo!” Toko sneezed before looking around the room with her her tongue hanging out.She saw Taka’s dad. “Oh shit a cop!”Then she ran over to the windows and jumped out one without opening it, shattering glass everywhere. This was definitely the last time Hope’s Peak was doing this.
