“Ordinarily, You would have left it at that.”
“He’s been staring at him for hours now. Has he even eaten?”
Yuichirou can hear the worried voice of Mitsuba say. Her voice is laced with concern, but deep down, he feels she’s a little annoyed as well. He understands that, of course, it’s only a matter of time before he’ll be dragged to the shed. They always send him there for interventions. It was quite ironic, since they’d made themselves at home here first.
The one he is staring at is Mika. He lies motionless in their bed. The sight is unsettling, and the serene face on the blonde does not help in relenting his burning discontent for the situation. The vampire was littered in scars, some that are healing and some that are staining his pristine, pale skin. A gash had opened somewhere around his head, leaking a crimson substance, and having it bleed from his forehead. It dripped down to his cheeks until the frigid air cooled it. Now it soils his face with dried blood. It will heal soon, along with the others, but vampires need to consume blood to do that. Mika hasn’t had any since he stumbled into the house.
His unmoving, rigid, beautiful face flatters the crimson stains. So ethereal in its tranquility. Gorgeously stationary for however long it has been on him. If Yuichirou was a worse man, he would have reached out to touch that feverishly addicting skin. It would be soft against his calloused palm. It would bend and mold to his will, hands in control of how the plump flesh would move. He is a sick, sick man, but he does what he must to rid himself of the selfish desire to force open the vampire’s eyes.
He knows Mitsuba is watching him from the door along with whoever she was talking to before. He pays them no mind and instead reaches out just like he had fantasized. Yuichirou’s hand makes contact with Mika’s left cheek, the body not alert to twitch at the sudden contact, much to Yuichirou’s dismay. He hears clothes shift from behind him, and he assumes those two were trying to peek at his actions.
“He needs to take a break; Yoichi can watch him instead. I don’t get why he’s so insistent on watching him for hours,” a voice only belonging to Shinoa adds to Mitsuba’s earlier comment. He figures that the petite girl knew he was listening, but he didn’t care.
He gets her frustration regardless. Despite having them live here, he knows that they still have some level of care for him, and Mika begrudgingly. Unfortunately, tensions have risen since the discovery of Mika and Yuu’s private life. Poor Shinoa was the unlucky victim that had heard their game beforehand, likely wallowing in self-pity and confusion after the fact. This was shortly after they settled in the two’s makeshift home, no less. In turn, she grew somewhat attached to the idea of separating them, or at least having a healthy distance away from each other.
She had a point. Their minds were cut, but enough flesh attached to be considered whole. Having other people around to spend time with should be healthy for them. But it isn't. It felt horrible. After Yuichirou voiced his undeniable truth, Shinoa agreed to keep her mouth shut, and tactics were thrown out. That didn’t mean she couldn’t complain cryptically.
His mind was solely focused on watching his hand caress the face of his best friend. Thoughts such as those had no place in his head for now.
As the sun passed the sky, he noticed small twitches here and there, and Yuichirou was hoping that right now was one of those times when the form would react. The glee he would feel once the pretty vampire’s muscles twitched would absolve his anxiety entirely. Just one form of movement and he can eat something (or have that stupid intervention).
He sighs in disappointment as not a single muscle had moved from Yuichirou’s touch. He was so delicate too. Maybe he has spoiled Mika so much that his skin barely reacts to physical contact anymore, and now the poor blonde will have to suffer the consequences once the ruse is up. He could feel pity for Mika, but he chooses not to, for he isn’t at fault.
The vampire went into a hideout on his own volition. He was supposed to only scout ahead, but instead, he decided that it would be best if he took a quick peek inside the very suspicious building. Consequently, he was ambushed by some rogue vampire unit and injured badly. Yuichirou was the one who found him limping toward the squad’s resting area, covered in blood, stumbling over his words in a hushed panic. He took the liberty of taking Mika to his own room, shoving him into the bed and ignoring the squad members who confronted him.
He gave the bare bones of what Mika had told him to Shinoa. She was the leader after all; anything that happened to the group must be reported to her. Anyway, she asked him to keep watch for two hours only, and then another member would switch with him so he could eat something or work. It’s been eight hours since, and Yuichirou has not left his spot beside the bed. Every once in a while, Kimizuki or Narumi would berate him into doing some type of labor, but the hardened grip of Yuichirou’s sword was enough to get them off his back. Yoichi hasn’t come, but he’s sure the brunette will soon. As for the girls, well, they’re still hiding behind the bedroom door.
He knows they’re just worried. He knows that there are things that have to be done, and sitting here worrying about Mika is not helping himself nor his mental state. The blonde is fine. He knows this. Yuichirou is painfully aware of how crazy he’s being, but in the midst of the early night, he couldn’t find much reason to stop. After all, the two girls had left moments before.
Meaning… A certain vampire should be waking up soon.
He stares at the face of his best friend, waiting expectantly for those beautiful, dark, carmine eyes to look up at him with mischief. He would do anything for that look, if only they knew, absolutely anything. The soldier did not have to wait long as Mika’s face twitched. Those long, ashen eyelashes flutter open, revealing the deep red that colored his previously oceanic pupils. The vampire’s face contorts into a playful smile, his eyes never leaving the bitter raven-haired man.
Yuichirou throws the scowl away, replacing it with a soft expression as he looks at the vampire. He smiles lovingly as Mika sits up from his spot on the bed. “You finally gave up, huh?” He asks coyly. “I was beginning to get annoyed, but as soon as I felt ALL their heartbeats leave from the area, I was sure,” Mika sighed in response.
The vampire shakes his head briefly, rattling unknown jumbles of his thoughts into a backspace in his mind. “Never mind that; were you here the whole time?” Mika questions, a frown gracing his lips.
‘Oh, I guess there was no blood from his forehead. Must’ve wiped it some time ago.’
“I was—” Yuichirou smiled, “—had to make sure that stupid vampire didn’t try to escape me once he awoke.”
Mika shivered under Yuichirou’s darkened gaze. “Is that so? What would I have tried to escape from?”
“Don’t play dumb with me.”
“I’m not playing anything, Yuu-chan.”
The soldier’s smile widens, but his eyes lose their glow. “Are ya’ sure?”
“You got hurt without my permission. How can I not think you’re trying to toy with me, Mika? Hmm? Did you feel good knowing someone else was causing you pain?” Yuichirou continues. The vampire sunk deeper into the pillows, looking to his right so his face was covered by fluffy, blonde hair. He avoided Yuichirou’s gaze, but the tips of Mika’s pointed ears were burning red, meaning he was embarrassed. “Answer me, Mika,” he pesters. The vampire said nothing, so instead of playing nice, Yuichirou figures he’ll just weave his threads once more.
It’s a punishment game. It’s a cursed experience they can’t stop indulging in. It’s what lets his heart pump. It’s what kills the ambitions of any man, no matter the state of existence. It’s a cruel, terrible game they play, but it’s addicting. It came out of nowhere, taking what they’d known and molding it into a revolting aura.
Desires were messily strewn around one day, and they were never the same. Mika had hidden it well, albeit with the restraint of a starved lion; nonetheless, he succeeded. Yuichirou, on the other hand, was useless in his imprisonment. He made impulsive decisions hoping to cover up the lust. He was erratic, and the squad noticed. He was manipulated by emotions, caught in a trap made for those who make traps, yet he never yielded to full-on murder. He says, “It’s fine.” But he lies.
They were an enigma. Two souls, conjoined by the vines of trauma and guilt, coiling around the bodies of rotting children. It feeds off the memories. Like a demon, its desires are food for the hungry pair of inhuman, disgusting lovers. It was obvious, but no one dared to comment on it out of fear. What would they think? What would they do as a result of their secret being found out? If their lustful game was exposed?
It meant destruction. Their self-imposed torture would lead to death, and Mikaela knew it so. He planned it, after all, smiling so sweetly as he forced Yuichirou’s blood down his throat. The scene leading to a lewd groan escaping the soldier’s lips as he let the vampire chomp down on his neck.
Their sinful night was only just beginning.
The soldier reaches his hand out, gravitating toward Mika’s hair, and running his fingers through the locks. Mika does not dare to turn his head, but he feels himself lose control due to the power of Yuichirou’s touch, urging him to give up. That’s the beauty of their relationship. No matter how many times Mikaela attempts to escape Yuichirou’s grasp, he’ll run back regardless, lost in the sea of Yuu’s control. His mind is fuzzy, drunk on whatever comforting lies his childhood friend tells him.
A hushed whisper rattles in his ear; it’s sickeningly sweet, and it colors his cheeks pink. “I won’t ask again,” Yuichirou states, stroking the blonde’s curls gently, looking so utterly beautiful with his lust on full display. His voice is hoarse, breaking down the vampire’s stability. It lures him like a siren's song, singing a tune that his sailor heart could not ignore. His fate was sealed the second he flinched at a particular tug.
Yuichirou had won.
Closer. He got closer.Mika’s scent was captivating him.He was lost in the moment, seeking not closure for his sin but indulgence of it.
The pull is sharp, sending a jab to Mika’s scalp, and it drives him mad. He mewls at the pain, it’s thumping near his roots, and sucking in the breath of the dark brunette, who faces him. Yuichirou’s eyes were not angry, nor were they filled with much variety in emotion. All Mika saw was pure, devoted love. It was disgustingly sweet. “You know I was so worried about you…” Yuichirou mumbles, his smile turning upside down.
Mika looks into his mesmerizing eyes. He was lost in the pool of green, shades shifting from the setting sun, and now it was such a serene sight. Nothing could take away this moment. Absolutely nothing.
His face was tan but plush and soft when the vampire stroked it.His eyes shimmered brightly, and so lovingly, they darkened when night hit.His lips were molded perfectly, thinning when he was in thought and puckering when they kissed. His heartbeat was loud, overwhelming the others, and cursing his hearing to only focus on it when he was around.Mika was cursed to love this man thoroughly and exponentially.
How repulsive was he?
“I saw you talking to Shinoa last night. It made me feel…y’know…that” Mika’s own words fail him, trying to speak his mind but embarrassed by the implications. Yuichirou looked at him curiously, knowingly, soaking in the sight of his flustered best friend. “Feel what? What feeling caused you to get yourself hurt like this?” He asks playfully, but his tone was still laced with concern. Mika murmurs to himself, seeming to scoff at Yuichirou’s coyness.
Oh. He didn’t like that.
Another painful tug dragged the vampire closer, yelping in surprise, bending his torso to accommodate the pull. His face was barely an inch away from Yuu's, and he felt his face heat up from how close they were, although it was mostly because the throbbing pain increased in his head.
Did he have a gash there somewhere? Ah, no matter; it will disappear when Yuichirou feeds him.
“Jealous. You were jealous and decided to make me jealous as revenge,” he says coldly, frowning at Mika’s deteriorating sanity. His crimson eyes were wide, his lips were quivering, and he was on the verge of spilling vile thoughts. It was utterly precious. Such a moment should be ENGRAVED into his head. Yuichirou felt pity, and he could only torture his lover for so long before his own desires were spilling out.
Mika looked at him in pure adoration. They were lost in an ocean of emotions, clinging to whatever object floats by, inching closer to shore. Yuichirou returned the gaze.
Closer. The barrel was sinking, so the vampire reached out behind him.So much closer. He grips a sleeve. It’s smooth to the touch. He tickles Mika’s lips with his breath.
“Yes, Yuu-chan,” Mika sighed as a shy fang poked his bottom lip, “I was just so lonely; I couldn’t help it; it was driving me crazy.”
“Mika—” Yuichirou began.
The vampire brushed his lips against him, teasing the soldier with a nip of his plush flesh. Their eyes were hooded, dark, and so very trained on the sensation of growing desire burning in both their stomachs. Mika’s eyes were pleading for a resurgence of Yuichirou’s insanity. The slits dilated, dazed in what is their life, their sins, and everything else they’ve done wrong.
“I hope you aren’t mad at me…” He said softly.
He grinned. “I can’t stay mad at you, my love.” Yuichirou kissed Mika a second time. “Never.”
Drowning in a sea of pleasure, Yuichirou smashed their lips together in a matter of seconds, drinking the quiet moans Mika let out as a result. Tongues dancing and skin flushed as slowly, but surely, their bodies gravitated toward each other.
The squad had started a bonfire outside. The fire’s brief crackles entered Mika’s ears periodically, but instead of fear of being caught, he gripped Yuichirou’s dress shirt. The soldier joined the vampire in the bed, hovering over him as lips slotted together and music was made. Thoughts were quiet. Love’s shade of red took the form of saliva dripping down Mika’s chin.
Mika was an instrument in Yuichirou’s orchestra. He strummed his strings with a gentle touch, sliding his fingers between the fibers and tugging when the melodies were ceasing. His touch was addicting as he bent and shattered Mika, using him as a tool, a plaything, and the blonde felt ecstatic.
This was bliss. This was true bliss, and nothing could take this away from him. Bones ached, heart unbeaten yet racing nonetheless. Yuichirou knew every curve of his body, every dip of his skeleton, every spot where the poor vampire was abused once more. His marks were gone, so Yuichirou would make more.
More and more and more and more.More.More.More.More.More.More.
It’s silent in the morning. Mitsuba can hear the shuffling of clothes from behind her. She turned around, placing her soda can on the kitchen counter. She spotted a shadow creeping closer from the hall next to the refrigerator.
“Urghh…”The blonde girl looked curiously. Another shadow joined the march. “Ah, Mitsuba! Mika’s all better now, though he’s going to need to drink, so if ya’ don’t mind heading out or something, that would be great!” A joyous voice entered into earshot.
There, in a mess of lazily put-on clothes, were Yuichirou and Mikaela. Yuichirou wore a loose black shirt and dark grey shorts. Mika, on the other hand, wore Yuu’s white dress shirt and black shorts. The sight was almost domestic, if you ignored the obvious bruises, bite marks, and blood staining their skin.
But Mitsuba grew used to the sight and bit her tongue as she gave them privacy.
