『GINNY』
Harry was only seven when Aunt Lily and Uncle James died in a car accident. Father said a muggle truck driver, half-drunk, veered off the road and collided with them. The driver didn’t survive either. I can still remember the day at the funeral, the rain pouring relentlessly as if the sky itself mourned their loss. Aunt Lily and Uncle James were laid to rest together, surrounded by friends and families. Harry was there, Of course. He looked utterly shattered. His small frame seemed even smaller under the weight of his grief. His red, puffy eyes stared blankly at his parent's coffins being lowered into the ground. Uncle Remus kept a comforting hand on his shoulders, to let him know that he was there, but I don't think Harry would understand that as he was so lost while Harry, Godfather, Uncle Sirius wept openly into his shoulder.  I was only Six, a year younger than my big brother Ron and Harry but even I couldn't hold back my tears as I clung to Mum’s robes and cried—not just for Aunt Lily who was always kind to me and could teach me little things about potions whenever I visited her with Mum and Uncle James, on the other hand, was more a blur of mischief and laughter in my memories, but there was few moments with him that I’ll never forget but for Harry too. Poor Harry. My heart ached when I saw him like that, so lost and alone even Uncle Remus and Uncle Sirius were right beside him.  The days after the funeral Harry had lost himself. One who had been filled with laughter and mischief was like an empty shell now. Uncle Sirius and Uncle Remus tried their best to comfort him but he did not show any sign to open up. After much deliberation, Uncle Sirius made a decision, that is to take Harry far from here for a while. He feared if Harry stayed like this they would lose him too. Within a few days they were set to leave for France, where one of Uncle Sirius' close relatives resided.   When Ron and I heard about Harry leaving, we were worried and sad. On the day of departure, My parents and Uncle Sirius and Uncle Remus were saying goodbye so were Ron and Harry both sharing a tearful goodbye, holding each other in hug. Through his tears, Ron promised to write, and Harry, his voice quiet and hoarse, vowed to do the same. Then Harry turned to me. He crouched slightly, resting a gentle hand on my head. “Take care of yourself, Ginny.” His tone is soft but distant. “I'll write to you too, I promise.” All I could do was nod, unable to find my voice, and then with a final glance he climbed into the carriage and they were gone.  The moment they were out of our sight, I felt a deep ache settle in my heart. My parents, Ron and I stood in silence, the void Harry had left behind already palpable. I missed him. I missed him terribly.  A few days later, his letter arrived. One for Ron and one for me. The moment mom handed my letter, I snatched it up and eagerly dashed to my room, clutching the letter like it's a treasure. It is. Mom yelled my name but I shut the door behind as my heart raced with excitement. Sitting on the bed, I carefully opened the envelope, a smile already tugging at my lips.  Harry's familiar, messy scrawl filled the page, and as I read, it was as though his voice echoed in my mind. He wrote about France and how strange it felt to be in a new place. He described the house they were staying in, which was much bigger than his house, with a vaste garden perfect for flying. He also mentioned meeting Uncle Sirius’s younger brother, whose name was Regulus black and his Goddaughter, someone I have never heard of until now. He wrote everything, but what struck me most was that he missed it here. He misses England. He misses home. He misses Ron, Fred, George, my other older brother's, dad and mum and me. The simple mention made my cheeks warm, and I couldn't help the blush that spread across my face. I reread that part more times than I'd like to admit, the thought of him missing me filled me with a quiet joy. Later I carefully folded the letter. This wasn't just any letter but it was the first letter Harry had written to me, and it felt special in a way I couldn't quite put into the words. I opened the small wooden box I kept on my bedside table, the one where I store my most treasured things given to me by Harry— dry rose, drawing of mine, a circle shaped stone, locket, sweet wrappers and now, his letter. Gently I put it inside the box and close it.  I went to my desk, grabbing a piece of parchment and my favourite quill, I began to write back to him. When I finished, I reread the letter, making sure everything was correct. Satisfied, I sealed with care and hurried downstairs to Mum. “Can you send this to Harry, please?” I asked, holding the letter close. She smiled softly and nodded. “Of course, dear.”  As I handed her the letter, a sense of anticipation bubbled within me. I couldn't wait for Harry to read the letter and, maybe, to write me back. ------- Harry letters continued to arrive, as they always did, but this time, something in his words caught my attention. Harry mentioned someone— someone being the Goddaughter he had mentioned briefly in his first letter.  Her name was Dracelle. Dracelle Celestina Black but everyone called her Ella. He explained that Dray didn't speak English fluently but knew how to write it well enough. She had a sharp mind and insatiable curiosity when it came to Potions, Magical plants, Medical knowledge and flying. He also wrote that she was rarely seen without a book in her hand, and when she wasn't reading, she was up in the air, flying as though it was second nature to her. She was the same age as him, he said and described her in such vivid detail that I could almost picture her. Her hair, he wrote, was long and platinum-blonde, shimmering like sliver in the sunlight. Her eyes were sharp and grey but if you looked closely, there was a hint of blue within them. Her nose was pointed and her lips pink and full, and her complexion pale, leading her to an ethereal sort of beauty. She was tall and thin, with a presence that seemed to demand attention without effort.  What struck me most was how he described her and her personality. Dray, he wrote, was filled with ambition. She was also determined, with her heart set on working at the L'Asile Saint-Jean de l'Arcane [The Sanctuary of Saint-Jean of the Arcane] someday. Harry's admiration for her was evident in his words and I couldn't help but feel a pang of something I couldn't quite name. As I re-read his letter, I tried to imagine this girl—this Dray he calls—with her books and her broom, her sharp eyes and quiet confidence. She sounded extraordinary, almost too perfect. And for some reasons I couldn't quite explain, her name lingered in my mind long after I folded the letter and tucked it away.  -------- Harry's letter arrived a week later, but this time there was something else with his letter. Tucked inside the envelope was a picture. Beneath the image, Harry had scribbled a single word in his handwriting. Dray. I looked at the picture carefully, my eyes drawn to the girl in the image. She had a striking presence as her long platinum-blonde hair flowed down in her back. The glow of her hair when it hit the sunlight, gave her an almost ethereal quality.  She was dressed in a pale silvery–blue gown. The dress had a ruffled collar and cuffs, with a large bow at the neckline that matched the subtle shimmer of the fabric. The elegance of her attire only added to her aristocratic aura. Her hands were clasped tightly around the skirt of her dress as she stood in a lush green field speckled with tiny white flowers, the scene around her were dreamlike. Her pale figure and the vibrant greenery around her made her appearance even more striking. At first, her head was turned around from the image, as she looked somewhere far as though she was lost in some deep thought. But then, slowly, she turned her head. Her sharp eyes reflected a blend of surprise and warmth. Then a soft, small smile began to form on her lips as with an elegance she raised her hand and gave a gentle wave.  I couldn't tear my eyes from the image, which captured the quiet grace and emotions. Harry's letter was forgotten, as I continued to stare at the image. Suddenly I felt something stir deep inside me— something unfamiliar. It wasn't the same things I felt like before, when I read about her. This time it was something else. A feeling I was too young to feel.  I tucked Harry's letter away with the picture and went downstairs to help mom with the dishes. As hard as I tried to forget about the picture that was inside the drawer, the image of that girl and her name still lingered in my mind. [AN: When I wrote this, I thought about the manga i was reading. I wanted to make Draco the same as the FL but the plot said No.]------- It's been three and a half years since Harry left for France, and now, for the first time, his letter brought news that made my heart soar. He wrote that this week he would be returning to England and that he misses his home and Us. He even mentioned that he had bought presents for each of us. As I read those words, a burst of joy filled me, and I couldn't contain my excitement. Harry was coming back home! I dashed downstairs to mum about this, only to find she already knew from Ron. But that didn't dull my excitement one bit. I was so overjoyed that I even gave Ron my slice of cake without second thought— an offer he accepted without hesitation. At that moment, nothing else mattered except the fact that Harry was returning back! He was finally coming home!!

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

『HARRY』
It's been three and a half years since I left England. Three and a half years filled with new places, new experiences, and new people. And now it was finally time to return home. As excited as I was to go back to England, to see Ron, Fred, George and rest of the Weasley’s again, a part of me felt a strange heaviness in my chest. The reason for it was standing just a few feet away, at the edge of the garden where I had spent countless hours flying and talking about my dreams.  Dracelle. But I would rather prefer to call her Dray.  She stood with her back to me, her hair catching the sunlight as it swayed gently in the breeze. She was dressed in a simple dress that matched her serene demeanor. As if sensing my gaze on her, she turned around, her sharp grey eyes— always so piercing yet kind— meeting mine. “You are leaving for…your ‘ome?” she asked, her french accent thick but undeniably endearing. She always struggled with her English, but over the years, she had grown more confident.  “Yes,” I replied, trying to keep my voice steady, though my throat felt tight. “It's time I go back to England. I miss my home, my friends.”  She nodded, taking a step closer. “Zis is good. You 'ave much love for your friends. zey must miss you…terribly.” Her words were slow and deliberate, as though she was carefully piecing together each sentence.  “I'll miss you too.” I said, the words slipping out before I could stop them. Her eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, I thought I had said too much.  “Ah… ‘Arry,” she began, her voice softening as she searched for the right words. “ I will…miss you… too. Zis ‘ouse… it will feel…empty…without you.”  Her words hit me harder, as I swallowed the lump in my heart and managed to smile. “It won't be empty, Dray. You've got Uncle Reg, and your books and broom. You'll be fine.”  “Oui,” she agreed, though her smile wavered. “But… I will miss ze…boy who made me laugh ... .when I was sad.”  Her words hung in the air between us, and I didn't know what to say. She had been my constant here in France— a friend, a companion, someone who made me feel less alone. And now, I was leaving her behind.  “Dray.” I said, “I'll write to you. Every week.” She tilted her head, her soft smile returning. “Zat is… a promise?” I nodded, “Promise.” She hesitated for a moment before taking another step closer, holding out a small object wrapped in delicate paper. “For you,” she said. “A… cadeau.” “A gift?” I asked, taking it from her.  “Oui. Open eet… when you are… ‘ome,” she said, her cheeks turning light pink. “Thank you.” I said, tucking it safely into my pocket.  As Sirius called out for me from the house, I realized it was time to leave. I turned back to Dray, my heart heavy but determined not to show it. “Goodbyez Dray.” I said softly but she shook her head.  “Au revoir,” she replied, her voice barely a whisper. “Not… goodbye. Au revoir means… we will meet again.”  I smiled and nodded my head. “Au revoir, then.”  As I walked away, I couldn't help but glance back one last time. She was still standing there, watching me go, her figure framed by the bright sunlight. For a moment, I wondered why leaving her felt so much harder than I expected. But there was no time to dwell on it.  England was calling, and with it, my home, friends and rest of the Weasley's I had missed so dearly.  ***** The train finally pulled into the platform as I took a deep breath and stepped to the door. The familiar sound and sights greeted me but my eyes searched for the familiar figures who I knew very well and it didn't take me long enough to find them. Mr and Mrs. Weasley with Ron and Ginny. My heart swelled at the sight of them as I couldn't help but smile. I waved, stepping off the train with Sirius and Remus behind. As we approached them, I couldn't help but notice that Ron had changed a little and that he had grown a little taller than me.  Before I could say a word, Ron jumped into me, throwing his arms around my shoulders. “Harry!!” he shouted, his voice thick with emotions. I hugged him back, laughing even as I felt tears sting my eyes. “Missed you too, Ron.” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. We broke apart, and I looked at him properly for the first time in years. Yeah, he really grew an inch then me. Then my eyes turned to Ginny. She was standing a little to the side. She wasn't like the little girl I’d seen before. She too had grown up like Ron.  “Nice to meet you, Gin.” I said softly, smiling at her as she gave me a small nod, her gaze darting away as she refused to meet my eyes which was… cute. Mr and Mrs. Weasley were next, pulling me into warm hugs and scolding me for taking so long to return. Sirius and Remus joined the conversation, and for a moment, it was as if no time had passed at all.  Then Mrs. Weasley clapped her hands together, announcing that dinner was already planned at their house. Sirius and Remus agreed immediately, and I found myself grinning at the idea of sitting around the Weasley's table again.  ***** After the dinner at Burrow, we returned to Godric’s Hollow. It was my home after all. Though Sirius had been reluctant to come back here, his voice was tight with emotions when I told him we should go back to my home. “Too many memories, Harry,” he said, but I couldn't let it go. I wanted to live here again, to feel closer to my parents somehow. After talking to him for hours and endless promises to him and Remus, he finally agreed to it. As we walked through the door, the familiar scent of the house filled the air. Everything was just as we'd left it. It was almost eerie how untouched it was, as though the house had been frozen in time, waiting for us to return. “Must be the house-elf,” Remus muttered when he noticed the absence of dust. I could tell he was trying not to look too closely at anything. And how his eyes lingered on a family portrait in the hall for only a moment before turning away.  After saying Good night to them, I climbed the stairs to my old room. As I pushed open the door, a wave of nostalgia hit me. It was as if I'd stepped back into my days. The posters on the red painted wall were still there though the edges were slightly curled. My drawings from when I was much younger were pinned haphazardly alongside them. In one corner of the room, my tiny Quidditch T-shirt hung on a hook beside the small broomstick my dad had given me for my sixth birthday. I moved towards the bed, my fingers brushing against the wall as my gaze fell on the photographs scattered across the desk. There were pictures of my parents, smiling and happy, and one of Ron and me during a summer at the Burrow. My chest tightened as I picked it up, tracing the edges of the frame before setting it back down.  I sat on the bed, letting out a long breath. The house was quiet— too quiet. For the first time in the past three and a half years, I again felt completely alone. Shifting slightly, I felt something in my pocket. Reaching in, I pulled out a small gift Dray had given me. A smile tugged at my lips as I carefully unwrapped it. Inside was a delicate bracelet with a tiny broomstick charm hanging from it. It was beautiful and I could faintly feel the charm hummed in magic. A protective charm, I realised. Must be Uncle Regulus who charmed it. I slipped the bracelet onto my wrist, the cool metal settling against my skin. The charm caught the moonlight filtering through the window, and for a moment, the room didn't feel so empty.  Lying back on the bed, my eyes grew start to heavy, my thoughts turned to Dray’s face when she had given me the gift, her soft smile and the determination in her eyes as though she wanted to say so much but held back.  I closed my eyes, my fingers brushing the charm one last time, and soon, I began to draft. ***** As the days passed, I couldn't help but feel that coming back to England, to home, was the best decision I've ever made. The tension that lingered in the air when we first arrived was gone now, replaced by the laughter and lightning and the warmth that filled every corner of the house.  Ron and I spent most of our days in a state of joyful chaos. We could fly together, race around the garden, or challenge each other to endless games of magical chess. Sometimes we’d visit my parent's graves, sitting beside them as we talked about everything and nothing. Those moments, though bittersweet, were comforting. But more than anything, just spending time with Ron felt like old days. Re-Decorating the house was Sirius' idea, though Remus and I, both immediately agreed to him. We changed the wall paint, picked new curtains, and brought life back into every room. Mrs. Weasley was a huge help, bringing supplies for the kitchen and helping us with the living room. She made sure everything was perfect, even if her excited chatter sometimes drove us all mad. It felt like she was filling in the gaps left by my mother. My room was transformed as well, painted in Gryffindor colours I suggested, with new posters and house flags. My broomstick and tiny Quidditch T-shirt were hung on the side of the wall, surrounded by pictures of my parents, Sirius, Remus and Ron and I, capturing moments that had been lost to time. When it came to my parent's room, we all agreed it should remain untouched as we couldn't bring ourselves to change it. The hallways, however, were redesigned thanks to Sirius. He'd decided to refresh the family portrait arrangement. At the centre, my parents' wedding picture stood proudly, surrounded by photo's of us. The walls were now filled with memories. I wrote to Dray as I promised, and her reply came soon after, accompanied by a new herbology book she had gotten from Uncle Regulus. She also mentioned how she misses us, especially Remus, which made me laugh and how much she had been learning English lately. In her letter, she wrote that she was working hard on her English, saying that the next time we talked, it wouldn't sound so funny. But I don't think her English was funny, rather it was cute to see her find the right pronunciation. But her determination to improve, to be more like those around her, was clear. I set her letter down beside me, and with a smile I picked up a muggle pen that had been given to me by Sirius, of course. The ink felt smooth against the parchment and I began to write to her.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

『GINNY』
This year, we were all going to celebrate Christmas at Harry's house, and I was so excited! Finally, we all would be together again to celebrate the holiday. This morning, we all received handmade socks and sweaters from mum, while dad brought a muggle device. We even got letters from Harry wishing us a Merry Christmas.  The night soon arrived and I looked at myself in the mirror one last time before mum called me downstairs. We soon departed for Harry's house, and when we arrived, we were greeted by the lovely decorations, the delicious smell of cooked foods, the twinkling Christmas tree, and of course, Sirius and Harry. But I noticed Remus was missing. “Where’s Remus?” I heard Mum ask Sirius after exchanging greetings to each other. I sat beside Ron and Harry while Fred and George talked about their prank to them. Percy was sitting beside father and only Bill and Charlie were missing, as they had written in their letters that this Christmas they wouldn't be coming home. Sirius chuckled, “Oh, he's gone to bring a little surprise for our Pup.”  Hearing this, I raised an eyebrow. “A Surprise?” But Sirius winked at me and said, “You'll see soon enough.” I smiled and soon the living room was filled with laughter and stories. The warmth of the room wrapped around me, and for a moment, I felt nothing could ruin this perfect evening. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Sirius jumped up from the couch, practically jumping to open it. We heard muffled voices coming from the hallway, and then the sound of footsteps. Sirius returned with a grin, and behind him was Remus, giving his warm smile to us. Sirius then cleared his throat and looked at Harry who was already looking at them, with a little confusion written in his face.  “Pup, I think your Christmas present has finally arrived!” He said with excitement as he and Remus stepped aside, and we all gasped in union when we saw the Surprise Present Remus was to bring for Harry. Standing in the living room door, it was the same girl I had seen in every picture Harry had sent with his letters. The same girl Harry would talk about in his letters. The same girl Harry had spent the last three and a half years with in France. And the very same girl, he could write every week too. Dracelle Celestina Black. She stood there, poised, with a small smile playing on her lips. She looked just as she did in those photos— her platinum blonde hair cascading around her face, her delicate features glowing in the soft light of the room, but somehow she looked even more stunning in person. She also seemed to have caught everyone's attention.  My breath caught in my chest as Harry, who had been frozen between me and Ron, jumped up from the floor and ran towards her. “Dray!” he exclaimed, a mix of surprise and joy in his voice as we watched him pull her into a tight hug. She stiffened at first but then wrapped her arms around him as well, a genuine warmth in her eyes. “I didn't expect you here, not today.” Harry murmured, pulling back from the hug. She then opened her mouth to speak and when she spoke her soft accent filled the room with a mix of eagerness and nervousness. “I… I wanted… to give …you a surprise!?” she said, her English still a bit shaky. Remus chuckled beside her. “She’s still learning, but she's been working hard, haven't you Ella?”  “Oui! I…I mean Yes.” She replied, a slight blush coloring her pale cheeks. “But…English is… difficult. My words are not…perfect, no?”  Harry smiled warmly at her. “Don't worry Dray. You're doing great,” he said softly. “I guess the Surprise was worth it, as it should be, because we've been planning this for a week's afterall!” Sirius says, his eyes twinkling with mischief beside him, Remus chuckles. “And to add even more Surprise,” Sirius continued, his voice growing a touch more dramatic, “You'll be seeing Ella more often, as she'll soon be moving to England with Reg!” I watched her smile when Harry gasped and looked at her. “You're really coming to live here?” he asked and she nodded her head. She was again crushed into another hug by harry.  He then broke the hug and took a step back as he motions towards us. “Everyone, this is Dracelle.” he said, his voice filled with warmth.  I know. I know her, I wanted to say, as I watched her interact with each member of my family. Her voice was soft but clear as she greeted everyone. Then her eyes met mine.  Dracelle was just slightly taller than me, a couple of inches at most. I reached out my hand for a moment before she extended hers, shaking mine gently but with confidence. “And you…must be Ginny? I ‘ave…heard so much… ‘bout you from ‘Arry.” She said, her accent thick but warm.  I nodded my head, feeling a little bit nervous despite myself. “I've heard a lot about you too.”  She smiled again, her eyes lighting up. “I am…sure you ‘ave,” she replied, her tone light but sincere. She was then led by Harry to the couch, where he gently guided her to sit. Almost, immediately, the lively atmosphere of the room enveloped her as Fred and George wasted no time in peppering her with their usual mischievous questions. Dracelle, with a slight tilt of her head and a small smile, tried to answer each one earnestly. Meanwhile, Mum, Remus and Sirius disappeared into the kitchen, likely to tend to the finishing touches for the feast, while Dad and Percy engaged in what seemed to be deep, animated discussion in the corner. The living room was once again filled with warmth, laughter and the giggling sound of Dracelle. **** It's been four days since Dracelle had been staying at Godric's Hollow with Harry, Sirius and Remus. I had noticed that she spent most of her time with the books she had brought with her from France, reading quietly while the rest of us played games or talked about Hogwarts and Quidditch. But today was different. Today, instead of a book in her hand, she stood beside Harry while holding the broomstick Sirius had brought for her. She was deep in conversation with Harry, but when she saw me and Ron approaching, she smiled— a small, polite gesture that somehow felt warmer.  Harry noticed her gaze and turned to look at us as well. Today, Ron and I had come to bring them to the Burrow for a bit of flying, just as they had planned the night before. The two of them walked over, Harry looking eagerly and animated as he and Ron immediately launched into excited conversation. Dracelle and I, however, remained silent, a comfortable distance between us as we followed them. With Remus' help, we apparated to the Burrow. Stepping out of the floo, we were greeted by mum's delighted voice, her enthusiasm directed equally towards Harry and Darcelle. They returned her warm welcome with smiles and kind words, Darcelle french accents and polite manners adding a touch of novelty to an otherwise familiar scene. Before long, Ron led us all outside. The cold winter air stung my cheeks and made my nose tingle, but Ron and Harry were undeterred. They mounted their broomsticks and shot into the sky, their voices ringing out with excitement as they raced each other. “Aren't… you going…to fly with…us?” she asked, her voice soft yet curious, her gaze fixed on me. I shook my head quickly, tugging my coat tighter around me. “It's too cold for flying today,” I muttered, my breath visible in the frosty air. Her lips quirked into a faint smile as she observed me for a moment. “You’re…‘ow do you say…. trembling like a little bird,” she noted, a playfulness in her tone. Before I could respond, without a word, she began untying the green scarf around her neck.  I blinked in surprise. “What're you doing?” I asked, my voice slightly higher. “You.. will freeze…if ‘ou…stay like this,” she replied simply, stepping closer. Without waiting for my permission, she wrapped the scarf snugly around my neck, her fingers gentle but efficient. “I—I don't need—” I began to protest, but she interrupted with a soft laugh. “You are…‘ow do you say?….yes… stubborn, no? Like ‘Arry,” she teased, adjusting the scarf one last time before stepping back to admire her work. “There. Now you…look warm, and very…cosy.” I stared at her, my cheeks heating despite the cold. “Thank you.” I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper.  Her smile widened slightly as she patted my shoulder. “You’re welcome, Ginny,” she said, her tone warm. Now, I must…join them, or they will think….I am afraid to fly.” With that she mounted her broomstick and kicked off the ground, soaring into the sky with effortless grace. “Show off!” Ron shouted while laughing as she zipped past him. “Attrape–moi, si tu peux!” She yelled back, her laughter ringing out like bells in the crisp winter air. “What does that mean!?” Ron shouted once again as Harry and Dracelle let out a laugh. “She said, ‘Catch me, if you can.’ Ron” Harry translated it for him followed by his own laughter as I watched them from ground, rooted to the spot, as my gaze turned to Ron, then to Harry, and to Dracelle. My fingers unconsciously gripped the scarf around my neck, and I buried my nose in it, the faint scent of rose and something sweet filling my senses. “Are you just going to stand there, Gin?” Harry's voice called for above, his tone teasing. I looked up to see him grinning at me, but I quickly averted my gaze, my face heating up even more. “I'm fine here, thank you very much!” I yelled back, trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably. Dracelle laughter echoed again, and I couldn't help but glance up at her. She looked completely at ease, as though she belonged up there. I finally understand what Harry meant in those letters— flying truly did seem to be her second nature. That night, she and Harry decided to stay at the Burrow. Harry wore Ron clothes, while she wore mine, though it was a bit short for her. She didn't complain, wearing it with ease. We all then sat down at hearty dinner, with mum asking Dracelle about France to which she answered every question politely. Afterwards, we gathered in the living room, sharin stories. Fred and George eagerly recounted their latest pranks, much to Harry and Dracelle’s amusement.  As the hour grew, everyone retreated to their room. Harry with Ron, while Dracelle and I went to my bedroom. As we lay in bed, an awkward silence settled between us, and I couldn't help but feel a little uneasy being alone with her. I stole a glance at her and saw her staring at the ceiling, her expression calm but distant. Gathering courage, I asked softly, “Are you not feeling sleepy? Or… do you feel awkward sharing a bed with someone else?”  She turned her head towards me, and my breath hitched as I caught a close look at her face. In the soft glow of the light she looked even more beautiful, her delicate features framed by her hair. Her grey eyes, I now noticed, had a faint hint of blue in them, almost like the sea before storms. With her charmingly broken English, she spoke softly, “It's not zat… it's just…strange.” She hesitated, her gaze drifting back at the ceiling, which I didn't like, as though searching for the right words. “I ‘ave not… shared a bed… like zis before. It…feels different but not bad. It is…how do you say?... New.” Her accent made her words sound so delicate, and there was something with the way she struggled yet persisted to express herself that made my heart flutter. I wanted to say something reassuring, but my voice caught my throat as she turned her eyes back to me, this time a small smile playing on her lips.  “But…I do not mind.” She added with a faint blush on her cheeks. “You are nice…kind. I feel…” she paused, searching again, then finished, “safe.” The word lingered in the air, and I felt my cheeks heat up as I fumbled with my hands beneath the blanket. “I'm glad,” I whispered, barely able to hold her gaze. She nodded, her expression softening as she whispered, “Merci, Ginny.” With that, she turned her head back to the ceiling, and silence filled the room once again. But this time, it wasn't awkward— it felt warm, comforting. I closed my eyes, a small smile tugging at my lips, her words echoing in my mind.  Safe. **** The next morning, after Harry and Dracelle had left, I made my way back to my room, still thinking about the events from the night before. As I entered, my eyes fell on something that caught my attention. A familiar green scarf resting on the chair. Oh. I thought, stepping over to pick it and running my fingers over the soft fibers. The delicate material reminded me of her, her warmth, and how easily she had wrapped it around my neck to keep me warm. “She must’ve forgotten about it.” I muttered softly with a smile but quickly realised I’d give it back to her next time I visit her. It was the least I could do after everything. I folded the scarf neatly and placed it back in the closet alongside with my other scarves, closing the door gently. My heart felt lighter as I did, thinking of the next time I’d see her.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

『HARRY』
I watched Uncle Reg and Dray talking quietly about the room she would be staying in, discussing bedsheets, pillow cases and Curtains. Dray’s voice was calm as she made her preferences clear, and Uncle Reg nodded along, occasionally making suggestions. My attention drifted to the couch, where Remus sat, sipping his tea with a serene expression, while Sirius on the other side, looked like he was about to explode. He leaned back with his arms folded behind his head, a deep scowl etched into his face, glaring nothing in particular. From the hallway, the shrill voice of Sirius and Uncle Reg’s mother's portrait echoed, spewing curses and insults. We could all hear her shouting, but no one acknowledged it. Instead, we chose to pretend it wasn't happening. Eventually, Uncle Reg and Dray entered the living room, their conversation finished, and took their seats. Dray sat beside me, her calm presence settling into the room like she belonged there. Sirius, however, couldn't let things rest. He turned sharply towards his brother, his irritation finally spilling over. “I don't understand why you insist on staying here when you could just live with us at Godric's Hollow!?” Sirius said, his tone sharper than it needed to be. He gestured towards him, Remus and then me, as if to emphasize his point. Uncle Reg didn't reply immediately. He set his teacup down on the table and thanked Remus with a polite nod. “Because I want to,” he finally said, his voice even, as if daring Sirius to argue. “Grimmauld place may not be perfect, but it's still black family house. Besides, Ella needs to be here— this is her home too. I have no reason to leave it behind.” Sirius scoffed, running hand through his hair. “This house is nothing but memories of her— the shouting, the hate. Why would you bring her here, of all places?” Uncle Reg leaned back in his chair, his expression unchanging. “Because it's my decision, Sirius. And perhaps it's time for someone replaced those memories with better ones.” He glanced briefly at Dracelle, who sat quietly beside me, her hands folded neatly in her lap, as though unsure whether to join the conversation. “I don't mind…staying here, Sirius.” Dray said softly, her accent curling around her words like a melody. “Eet feels… how do you say…right. Like eet…belong to me… somehow.” Sirius groaned, throwing his head back against the couch in exasperation. “You've got her speaking like you already, Reg.” Dray smiled faintly, her gaze flickering between them. “Eet not about the… words. Eet is about…roots, no? A place to feel…how do you say…Oui. Connected.” I stayed silent, watching the exchange unfold. There was something calming about the way Dray handled Sirius's intensity, as though she'd already come to understand how to soften his sharp edges. Even Uncle Reg seemed less icy when she is around.  “Fine!” Sirius muttered, waving a dismissive hand. “But don't expect me to come back here for tea and biscuits like nothing's changed.” “Nobody asked you to,” Uncle Reg shot back, but his lips quirked in the faintest of smirks. Dray leaned closer to me, her voice low and almost conspiratorial. “Does…eet always…end this way? ‘Them arguing but with…love hidden…somewhere beneath?” “Pretty much.” I said, chuckling. She smiled at that, her eyes sparkling just a little bit. And as the conversation shifted to lighter topics, I found myself thinking that maybe this house—cold and full of shadows as it was—might just come alive again with her here. ***** The next time I visited Grimmauld place with Ron and Ginny, who insisted on coming along to see Dray, I was shocked to see the transformation of the place which was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Where once the walls were oppressive and dark, they now gleamed in a soft cream hue, catching the light streaming in through pristine white curtains. The heavy, suffocating atmosphere had been replaced by a warm and inviting one. Vases filled with fresh white roses and lilies adorned tables and mantels, their fragrances wafting gently through the air. Even the shrill shouting from the portrait from the hallway was absent, leaving an almost eerie silence in its wake. I couldn't help but marvel at how much had changed. I saw Uncle Reg, descended the stairs, a book tucked under his arms as he noticed our presence. He greeted us with a calm smile, his composure unchanged. “Ah, what a surprise, Harry and his friends. Welcome. Ella must be waiting for you all.” He then called out for Kreacher, who appeared instantly with a scowl. “Inform Ella that her friends are here.” Kreacher muttered something under his breath but obeyed, disappearing with a pop. Uncle Reg then excused himself with a nod and disappeared into what I assumed was the library, leaving us standing in the transformed living room. Moments later, we heard hurried footsteps in the staircase. All of us turned and saw Dray descending quickly, her skirt swishing around her as she moved. The moment she spotted us, her face lit up with a radiant smile, one that made the entire room feel even brighter.  “Ginny!” she exclaimed then pulled Ginny into a warm embrace, laughing softly. Ginny, though caught off guard, returned the hug with a small smile. Dray then turned towards us, her eyes sparkling. “Come. Come! There is something I ‘ave to show you!” She said excitedly, tugging Ginny by the hand and motioning for Ron and me to follow. We followed her up to what she called her little parlour. The room was cosy yet elegant, with comfortable chairs arranged near a pair of floor-to-ceiling windows that bathed the room in natural light, which reminded me of France.  “Kreacher,” she called softly, and the elf appeared once again, begrudgingly awaiting her command. “Tea and biscuits for mes amis.” She gestured to us to sit on the cosy chair. Once we settled, she took her seat beside Ginny, and clasped her hands together and looked at us with a warm smile. “So ‘ow do…you like ze place?” she asked.  “Blimey, Ella! It's nice!” Ron said, glancing around, his eyes sparkling which made her giggle. Her laughter was as light as the fresh lilies in the vaze nearby. “Merci, Ron. Ze ‘ouse needed a… ‘ow do you say… oui, a soul again, not just…. walls.” Ginny leaned closer to her, her face filled with curiosity. “And you did all this by yourself? It's beautiful, Ella.”  Dray waved her hand. “Non, not all by myself. Uncle Reg…and ze elf helped. They…are not as bad…when they listen,” she added with a playful smirk. I couldn't help but chuckle. “And the portrait of Uncle Reg and Sirius' mother? How did you manage to shut her up?” Dray tilted her head and grinned mischievously. “Ah, zat…was simple. I told her, ‘If you…scream one more time…I will paint over you…with bright pink!’ and she believed me.” Ron barked out a laugh, nearly choking on air, while Ginny giggled behind her hand. I shook my head, still amazed at how much life Dray brought wherever she went. I can't wait to tell Sirius and Remus about this. The house elf returned with a silver tray of tea and biscuits, settling it down on the table with a disgruntled huff before disappearing again. Dray thanked him anyway, her tone polite, though the elf didn't respond.  She then starts to pour the tea carefully, her movements elegant.“Here you go.” She said handing us our cup filled with tea, as her smile never wavering. “ I ‘ope you all like …ze tea. Eet is from France….very how do you say…delicate flavour. You will tell me if…eet is not to…your liking, oui?” Ron, always the one for food, took the biscuits from the tray. “It's so tasty!!” He said and took another bite of it. Dray laughed softly, shaking her head. “Eat all you want, Ron. Zere is more in…ze kitchen.”  Then we sipped tea and talked, and I couldn't help but notice how much lighter the atmosphere felt. Dray, her touch was everywhere in the house. From the freshly painted wall to the soft curtains. And the flowers, she must have picked it up by herself and decorated. She had transferred the place into something we could never: a home.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

『GINNY』 “Bonjour,” Ella said softly as she stepped out from the swirling smoke of the fireplace, a small smile tugging at her lips. I watched as Harry followed behind her, his own smile wide and bright like the sun. They both greeted my mother, who was already busy in the kitchen. When mother saw them, she greeted them back as Ella handed her a bouquet of stargazing lilies, and my mother took it with a gasp, her eyes wide in admiration. “Oh, Ella darling, These are absolutely beautiful,” Mum exclaimed, her voice filled with surprise and delight. “Thank You so much.” “It's nothing,” Ella replied, her voice soft, and her accent adding an extra layer of charm, like always. “Zey are for you.” Harry then turned to Ron, who had been eagerly waiting for them, as it was his birthday. “Happy Birthday, Ron!” Harry called, handling him a small wrapped gift.  “I ‘ope it's something ‘ou will like.” Ella said, her voice light and teasing, as she handed her gift to him which was neatly wrapped. “Thank you Ella, Harry. Oh and don't you worry, I'll love it.” Ron grinned, clearly excited, and his hands fumbled with the paper. His excitement made Harry and Ella giggle softly.  “Alright, Ron, don't tear it apart too quickly.” Mum scolded gently, her eyes twinkling with affection. But Ron didn't seem to care, already halfway through unwrapping the gift. I laughed before turning back to Ella, only to find her already hurrying towards me. She wrapped me in a warm hug, and I could feel warmth in her embrace. I saw Mum looking at us with fondness as she looked at Ella then me. I suddenly recalled what she had said at dinner one night, after she saw Ella braiding my hair with tiny little flowers— “if you had a sister, she'd treat you just like Ella does. That girl likes you very much, Gin.” I smiled as Ella pulled apart. If Harry was the sun—radiant, bright, blinding in his energy—then Ella was the moon, gentle and luminous, casting warmth in the quiet moments. “You look well, Gin.” Ella said, tilting her head. “ ‘ow ‘ave you been?” “Better now that you're here,” I admitted, nudging her playfully. She laughed and sat beside me, her skirts brushing against mine. Then I told her about Ron’s Hogwarts letter, which had arrived this morning. “Oh! ‘e must be excited, non?” Ella’s eyes sparkled with delight. “Beyond excited,” I replied. “Mum's already planning what to buy for his school things. You should've seen her face—it was as if she got accepted instead of him.” Ella chuckled, “I cannot wait for my own letter to arrive. And ‘Arry’s too. ‘Arry and I talk about it all ze time.” I nodded, feeling a strange mix of excitement and longing. “You, Harry and Ron will all be going together. It's going to be strange without you guys here.” Ella’s expression softened, and she reached for my hand. “Oh, Gin. Zis is true. But next year, you will join us, non? And until zen, I will write to you every day!” I grinned. “You’d better.” “I promise,” she said, squeezing my hand as I giggled, the bittersweet thought of waiting another year fading for the moment. ***** Once we had all eaten our fill, we ran outside to fly. Percy, of course, opted out, muttering something about homework. The rest of us mounted our brooms, soaring into the crisp afternoon air, laughing as we raced one another. Eventually, exhaustion caught up with us, and we collapsed onto the soft grass, our chest rising and falling as we tried to catch our breath. I lay between Ron and Ella, while Harry rested on Ella's other side. Fred and George lounged next to Ron, occasionally teasing him about his clumsy flying. I gazed up at the endless blue sky, I turned my head slightly—and met Ella's gaze. She was already looking at me.  My heart stuttered in my chest.  Before I could say anything, she smiled, slow and soft, her fingers reaching out to gently tuck a loose strand of my hair behind my air. A sudden warmth spread across my face, and I was sure my cheeks were turning red. Ella didn't seem to notice—or maybe she did and chose not to say anything. Instead, she turned her head back towards the sky, her expression peaceful. I, however, couldn't look away. My heart is pounding and my mind is racing. Just as I was about to say something, my eyes drifted towards the side—towards Harry. And my chest tightened. Harry, he was looking. Looking at Ella.  Not in a casual way he looked at most people, but in a way that made my heart feel tight, like I had swallowed something too big. His green eyes held something—something quiet, something deep. Something I didn't want to understand. *****As the evening settled over the Burrow, Harry decided to stay the night, but Ella, much to everyone's disappointment, had to leave. “I would love to stay, truly,” she sighed, adjusting her cloak, “but Reggie friend is coming to teach me a potion lesson tomorrow, and I cannot miss it.” Ron groaned. “Come on, just for tonight! You can learn potions anytime and also it's my birthday!” Ella chuckled softly. “Ah, if only et were so simple. I ‘eard from Reggie, zat his friend does not like when someone is late—or worse, unprepared.” Father patted her head. “You're always welcome here, dear.” Ella smiled warmly. “Merci, Mr. Weasley.”  She turned to me last, her grey–blue eyes meeting mine. “Au revoir, Gin. I shall miss you.” I swallowed, feeling a strange tug at my heart. “Me too,” I mumbled, not trusting my voice. Then, with a final wave to everyone, Ella stepped into the fireplace, tossed in a pinch of Floo powder, and disappeared into the emerald flames. **** I opened the window wide, the crisp morning air is rushing in as I stood there, waiting. Soon enough, a familiar owl with a sleek brown and white coat came swooping towards me, it's wings beating strongly against the wind. I extended my hand out to it, smiling as it flew closer. The owl hovered near my window, it's bright amber eyes staring at me before it lowered it's talon, holding a letter. I reached for the parchment, noticing the distinct seal on the envelope. It was from Ella. I gave the Owl a small treat, which it graciously accepted, nibbling it as I opened the letter.   Ma chère Gin,
Je suis désolée— I am sorry for not writing sooner. These past few days have been so busy! I've spent my time learning about herbs and potions with Reggie's friend. And to my surprise, the friend Reggie was talking about was none other then Severus snape! Yes, the professor, himself! It was quite the expression.

He is just like Fred and George had mentioned, all dark and serious. But, surprisingly, he can be kind in his own way, especially when he talks about his teaching methods at Hogwarts. And you know what? He liked the tea I made! I could hardly believe it, but it made me feel proud.

But, Ma chère, I must confess, I miss you all so much. These past four days without from you and Harry have been difficult. I've been wishing I could come over, but Reggie scolded me and said I've been away from home too much lately, but is it my fault when I've friends who I could spend my whole time with? I don't think so. Then he told me to write you all or call you all here, at Grimmauld Place. But I miss you all so much, especially you, Gin.

So here is my request: Please come visit me, along with Harry and Ron. It would mean so much to me to have you all here. We can sleepover, you know!! So please come, Ma chère, I want to see you. Want to hear your soft giggle and your laughter. Want to hold your hand and feel the warmth of it. I want to count every freckles that has decorated on your face and want to see your lovely cheeks turn red when I tease you. You know you look so beautiful, that I want to tease you more and more until I am satisfied. To be honest, I miss you so dearly, Ma chère. Please come to me, I'll be waiting.

Looking forward to seeing you all here soon.

Avec tout mon amour,

Ella
I didn't send her my respond, but the next day, in the afternoon, Ron, Harry, Ella and I were having tea at Grimmauld Place.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

『HARRY』
I don't think I've ever seen Dray this angry before. Her delicate brows were knitting together, her jaw clenched tight, and her gaze sharp as a dragger. I shifted nervously on her bed, the plush mattress dipping slightly beneath my weight. The room smelled like Roses and spring, mingling with the faint smell of potions she had brewed this morning. She stood before me, arms crossed, her entire posture radiating fury. When she opened her mouth, sharp french words tumbled out in a rapid stream, which I couldn't understand half of what she was saying, but the sharp gestures—the shake of her head, the exasperated sigh, the way her hand briefly lifted as if she was about to smack me again—made it clear she was scolding me and was utterly unimpressed with my reckless actions earlier that day. And yet, despite the fact she was disappointed and furious with me, I still found her beautiful. I gave her a sheepish smile, trying to charm my way out of trouble. Bad idea. “Ouch! Dray!” I groaned, rubbing the spot she had just smacked. “Oh, maintenant tu écoutes, hein?” She huffed, folding her arms. “You are insufferable, ‘Arry James Potter!”  I sighed. “It wasn't my fault, Dray! They started it first! They were mocking you, making fun of your accent and the way you talk. I wasn't going to let them do that!” Her expression softened just slightly, but the sharpness in her gaze remained. She turned on her heels and marched to her potion cabinet.  Right. That was probably for punching those boys in the Muggle park—to which I don't regret it at all but I do regret taking her there because if I hadn't then she wouldn't be able to hear those mocking words they were throwing at her. But honestly, it was their fault, they had it coming. They shouldn't have made fun of her or the way she spoke. And really, I wasn't just going to stand there and let them do whatever they want.  They deserve it. I should have punched them more. She returned, holding out a small vial with an expectant look. “Bois-le,” she ordered. “Drink.” I raised a brow at the suspicious-looking liquid. “What is it?” “For your hand and cuts,” she said. I glanced down at my knuckles—red and bruised, a faint sting running up my arm. The other boys had gotten a few good punches too, but I don't regret it. Not one bit. Still, I took the potion from her hands and downed it in one gulp, feeling the warmth spread to my body as the pain dulled and the cuts began to fade. She sat beside me, her demeanor no longer fiery but calm, her eyes watching me with something softer this time—concern. “ ‘Arry…” she began, her voice quieter now, “ I was scared.” I turned my head to look at her. “When I saw you fighting them, I was scared. You were bleeding. Bleeding, ‘Arry! You scared me… watching you all alone fighting them and them hitting you back…It was awful.” I sighed, looking down at my hands. “But they were making fun of you, Dray and I couldn't just stand there and do nothing.” She sighed, shaking her head. She then reached out her hand, her fingers brushing over my knuckles, now smooth thanks to her potion. “Promise me,” she said, her voice barely a whisper. “Promise me you won't do something like that again.” I didn't reply right away. Instead, I lay back on the bed, closing my eyes for a moment, feeling the weight of her worry settle over me. I knew she wanted me to agree, to promise her that I wouldn't get into fights, but I couldn't. Because if anyone dared to hurt her, mock her for the way she speaks, I'm not gonna just stand by and watch.  I can't. I felt the bed shift slightly, and then warmth enveloped me. Dray had lay down beside me, wrapping her arms around my stomach in a gentle, protective hug. Her presence was comforting, grounding me in a way nothing else could. I turned my head to look at her, and there she was—gazing at me with her beautiful eyes, filled with many things. And just like that, I was hooked, completely caught in her spell. Letting out a quiet sigh, I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her closer. “I promise I won't do something like that again,” I murmured, “but if anyone crosses the line of hurting you, don't expect me to hold back, Dray. I won't let them hurt you.”  She let out a soft snort, but the corner of her lips curled up into a smile. “Of course, you could say that, mon cher.” I felt heat rush over my face after hearing her calling me that but before I could say something, she leaned in and pressed a light kiss to my cheek. My eyes fluttered shut at the softness of her lips, the warmth of her touch lingering even after she pulled away. When I opened my eyes, she was smiling at me—genuine, gentle. It made my chest tighten. I smiled back. We lay there talking for a while, her voice growing quieter with each passing moment. I could see her eyelids drooping, her body relaxing against mine. Eventually, she falls asleep, her breaths steady and soft. I watched her for a moment, taking in the peaceful face of her. Carefully, I pulled her closer, burying my nose in her hair, breathing in the comforting scent of Rose. Soon, sleep claimed me too. ***** Drinking the tea Dray had prepared and sitting with her in a quiet conversation always felt comforting. Nice. Warm. And somehow it also reminds me of my first time in France, of my arrival at her grand mansion. The memory is Vivid—how Uncle Reg stood outside the large double doors, waiting for us, and how she stood beside him, her curious eyes wandering over Remus, then Sirius, and finally landing on me. The moment our gazes met, a slow, warm smile spread across her lips, though it faltered when Uncle Reg explained why we had come. I still remember the way she had looked at me then—pity shadowing her grey eyes. I hated it. I hated that look she was giving me, as if I was fragile, broken. I hated the gentle way she tried to smile at me, as if that would somehow erase everything I've been through. I didn't speak to her after Sirius introduced us. For a full week I ignored her, refusing to acknowledge her presence in her own house. But then, one evening, I saw her again. Alone. She was standing in front of the large portrait in one of the mansion’s dimly lit halls. The painting depicted a man with long, platinum-blonde hair, his sharp features accentuated by a fine suit. A silver cane rested in his left hand, while his right hand was placed gently on the shoulder of a woman seated before him. She had soft eyes, a sincere expression, and a gentle smile. And if I looked closely… I realised they looked like her or rather, she looked like them. Perhaps she sensed my presence, for she suddenly turned to face me, her grey eyes locking onto mine. My heart pounded in my chest. I didn't know why or how, but my feet carried me forward. She didn't move nor did she speak. She only watched me, her gaze calm but searching. When I was near, she parted her lips as if to say something, then closed them again. Instead, she turned back to the portrait. I hesitated for a moment, then followed her gaze, standing beside her in silence. Then, softly, she spoke. “Zey are my parents,” she said. Her accent was thick, her words carefully chosen, but there was a heaviness in her voice that made my chest tightened. “My père… my mère… I ‘ave never seen zem.” I turned to look at her, but her gaze remained fixed on the portrait. "I 'ave never seen zem. Not really. When I was born, Maman… she did not make it." Her voice trembled slightly. "Reggie says she lost too much blood during—'ow do you say?—childbirth. I was too small to remember, of course, but… Père, he… he was never ze same after zat. But unlike others, he did not abandon me. He 'eld me, loved me, sang to me.” Her lips twitched as if she wanted to smile, but it didn't quite reach her eyes.   "But zen…" She swallowed hard before continuing, her hands gripping the folds of her dress. "He was working for someone. Someone… dangereux. A man zat others feared. And one day, zis man, 'e gave an order— an order 'e couldn't bear to do it." A shiver ran down my spine. I could already tell where this was going. "Père, he… he was afraid. 'e asked Reggie for help... and Reggie helped 'im. He then gave information and everything 'e knew to ze Ministry. 'E betrayed ze dangereux man and 'e knew he could not protect me on 'is own. So… 'e asked Reggie to look after me." My breath hitched as when I realised who she was talking about. She must have seen the recognition on my face because she let out a soft, bitter laugh. “Yes...'im. With ze 'elp of your parents… and your oncles… ze man and 'is followers were defeated." Her voice was almost a whisper now. "But Père… he was not saved. He was struck by a curse, and… and 'e died in ze battle." She let out a slow, shaky breath before glancing at me again. "After zat… after ze war was over, Reggie found me. I was alone in ze manor, only ze old elf was taking care of me. Reggie took me from zere. 'E brought me to France… and raised me as 'is own.” My stomach twisted. Silence stretched between us, the weight of her words pressing down like the storm brewing outside. The wind howled, rattling the window panes, making the trees outside sway violently. I looked at her, but she only stared at her feet, as if suddenly unsure of herself. For the first time, I truly saw her. Not just as a girl who had smiled at me on the steps of her mansion, not just a girl I had stubbornly ignored. But as someone who understood. As someone who had lost just as much as I had. I reached out, hesitantly, and for the first time since I had arrived in France, I spoke to her. “Dracelle.” I called her but she didn't look up, so I called her again. “...Dray.” She lifted her head, wide eyes staring at me when I called her that. I looked her into the eyes and this time there was no pity. No forced smiles. Just understanding. And I knew one thing for certain that…I no longer hated her. Since that day, we have always been together. Every afternoon, we could sit in her secret room and have Chamomile Tea—her favourite and Peppermint Tea for me. And talk about everything—things we both understood, things that mattered, and sometimes, things that didn't.  She could then speak in her heavily accented English, often switching to France when words failed her, and I would try my best to keep up, smiling at her little huffs of frustration when I tried to correct her.  And then I could laugh—really loud, which she didn't like and that could only make me want to laugh more. Not forced though, or those empty chuckles I gave to Sirius and Remus whenever they tried to cheer me up. No. No, but with her, it was different. It was light and real, like the laughter of someone who had momentarily forgotten the weight they carried. Everything with her was real. Everything. I hadn't felt that way since the day my parents died. And perhaps that is why after that day, I never left her side. And never will.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

『GINNY』
I watched Harry talking with Remus, as Sirius hugged him dramatically, tears streaming down his face. The sight could've been funny if it wasn't so heartfelt. Mr. Black, standing nearby, shot Sirius an annoyed look but didn't intervene, his expression tight with something between fondness and exasperation. Ella, standing beside him, softly laughed at the scene, her eyes sparkling with amusement. Her laugh was a soft melody, and for a brief moment, it felt like the platform quieted, just of her. Beside me, Mom was scolding Ron, but he hardly seemed to care, his attention caught by Fred and George who were, as usual, talking about some mischief they will pull this year while Percy was already inside the train.  I glanced around the bustling crowds, taking in the sight of families saying their Goodbyes, students gathered with their trunks and owls, and friends laughing together. All were here—people from every corner of my life, gathered in one place.  My eyes then went back to Harry and Ella who were now talking with each other. They both had been counting down the days since the day they received their Hogwarts letters, their excitement infectious. I still remember how they both dragged me and Ron along to Diagon Alley to buy everything they’d need for the second year. Mr. black and Remus accompanied us, but Sirius wasn't allowed to come—after the prank he pulled the day before, he had been grounded by Remus. Typical. The shopping was exhausting, but it was fun too. I watched Harry and Ella load their trunks with all sorts of supplies—books, robes, cauldrons, and even some magical trinkets. Harry's trunk was packed to the brim and on top of it was Harry's snowy owl, Hedwig, who was wide awake, her ember eyes sharp as she observed the bustling platform. While Ella's had organised chaos about it with her owl, Nux, a stunning black and white barn owl, who had its eyes closed. I glanced down at their trunks now, the weight of what they were about to embark on settling in my heart. “Gin.” I hear Harry’s voice calling my name which made my head jerk up, and I see him looking at me, his brow furrowed with concern. Beside him stands Ron, his hands stuffed into his pockets. “You okay?” Harry asks, coming closer, his gaze searching mine. I can tell that he notices how I'm standing here, quietly observing everything, maybe feeling like a little bit of an outsider. I smile weakly, trying to push the sadness away, but it lingers, a heavy feeling sitting on my chest. “Yeah.” I say, my voice not quite matching the confidence I try to show. Ron, still standing there, pats my head gently, trying to comfort me, “You sure, Gin?” He asked, probably noticing how I must look—sad and alone. I nod, but it's not enough to reassure them. I can feel the weight of their eyes on me. I try to muster a smile, a genuine one, but it feels a bit strained. “It's just…you guys are going to Hogwarts…and I'm still here…” I watch them exchanging glances, their face softening as they look at me. Ron stepped closer as his hand, which was still on top of my head, ruffled it. “You’re not alone, Gin,” he says, his voice low but earnest. “We’ll still be around. We'll send you letters, and we can all talk, okay?”  Harry nods beside him, agreeing to him. “And when we come back during holidays, we'll hang out, just like we always do.” I look at them, their words sinking slowly as I nod my head, a small smile forming on my lips. “Thanks, both of you.” Ron widely grins, “Now, none of that sad face! You'll be fine. We'll write, promise.” I chuckle softly, my heart feeling a little warmer. “I know. I'll miss you both though.” “But what about me? Will ‘ou miss me too?” Harry and Ron, turn around in unison, and there was Ella, a playful smile on her lips as she looks at me. I can see a hint of mischief in her eyes, but there's also something warm, something genuine. I giggled softly, shaking my head, a feeling of warmth washing over me. “Of Course I'll miss you too, Ella” I say, my smile genuine now. “It wouldn't be the same without you.” Ella steps forward, her smile soft. “I ‘ad to make sure,” she teases, crossing her arms, but her eyes hold a touch of affection. “I don't want ‘ou forgetting about me, et will make me sad, Ma chère.” “I won't forget you,” I reply with a grin, feeling more at ease now that she's here. “Bonne,” she says and stepped forward, pulling me into a warm embrace. “I will miss ‘ou and I will write to ‘ou, Ma chère,” she whispered, her breath warm against my ear. “And I will tell you all ze secret I learned. Zen, when you come next year, you will know everything.” I hugged her tighter, blinking back the tears that threatened to spill over. “You better,” I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.  She pulled back, cupping my face gently with her hands. “Promise,” she said firmly, her eyes never leaving mine. Mom came over, brushing a tear from her eyes as she pulled Harry, Ella and Ron into a tight hug. “You all take care of yourself and Ella dear, please do look after Ron and Harry. I'm counting on you.” “I will, Mrs. Weasley,” Ella promised with a small nod she gave to mom. And soon they all began to exchange hugs and farewells. The whistle of the train broke the moment, sharp and urgent. Harry, Ella and Ron exchanged a look—one that filled with shared excitement and the unknown adventure that lay ahead.  “Come on, Ron!” Fred called, already lugging his trunk toward the train's open door. Ron gave me a soft pat on the head before running towards Fred and George while Harry also gave me one last hug, his grip strong and reassuring. “Take care, Gin. We'll be back before you know it.” I nodded my head, swallowing the lump in my throat. “You better be.” As they boarded the train, leaning out of the window to wave. This was it— the start of their Hogwarts journey. They were off to make new friends, learn magic, and discover things. Then the train began to move, a slow crawl that quickly gained speed. Ella leaned out the window, waving with both hands as her laughter rang out, bright and carefree. Harry stood beside her, his grin wide and hopeful.  I kept waving until the train disappeared around the bend, leaving nothing but a trail of steam. Standing there on platform, surrounded by the fading buzz of departing families, I felt both immense pride and a hollow ache in my chest. They were heading off to a world that was still just out of my reach. But next year, I promised myself, I would be right there beside them. ***** The day after tomorrow, three letters arrived for me. One was from Ron, another from Harry and the last one from Ella. As soon as the letters were handed to me, I ran to my room, my heart pounding with excitement, as I quickly tore Ron’s letters first. Messy handwriting as always.
Ginny,

Hogwarts is Amazing! The castle is bigger than I've ever imagined. The ceilings in the Great Hall actually look like the sky as our brothers have mentioned before though I don't understand how it works, but it's wicked. The food here is amazing, even better than at home, don't tell mom about this though. But really it's so delicious I swear! I nearly exploded after dinner.

And Guess what? I got sorted into Gryffindor! So did Harry! And we’re so happy about it! Harry and I are also sharing a dorm with three other boys—Neville, Seamus and Dean. They seem alright, though Neville lost his toad within the first hour of being here.

Oh, and Mum sent me five, FIVE jumpers in my trunk. She must think I'll freeze here or something. Classes start tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. Really.

We all miss you here.
Ron.  I rolled my eyes in his short and straightforward letter before setting it aside and reaching for Harry's. His letter was more detailed than Ron's.
Gin,

You won't believe how massive Hogwarts is. Everything Remus, Sirius and Uncle Reg told us were true. Everything here amazes me, and there are ghosts everywhere! Nearly Headless Nick (yes, that's his actual name.) is the Gryffindor ghost, and he's not bad. But there's this other ghost, Peeves—a menace, we must say.

The sorting was terrifying, Gin! When it was my turn, I sat at the stool, and the Sorting hat start to talk inside my head. It told me I'd do well in Slytherin! Can you believe that!? But I told—okay begged it to put me anywhere! Even Hufflepuff, Don't you dare laugh at this. And in the end, it chose Gryffindor. Thank Merlin! Ron is in Gryffindor too, at least I have him with me.

The dorms here are cosy, and the beds have curtains. I can hear Ron snoring right now as I write this—seriously, I don't know how Neville and others are sleeping through it. Classes start tomorrow and I don't want to be late so I'll be stopping my pen here.

By the way, we all miss you Gin. Without you, it's boring, Ella words not mine. But really, without you it's really boring and I miss you.

Harry.
I blushed when I read the last part of his letter, smiling fondly I set his letter aside with Ron's and finally picked up Ella's letters, carefully breaking the blue seal. Her handwriting was elegant, just like her. Ma Chère Gin,
Oh, I miss you. I miss so much that I almost turned back at the Station. But Hogwarts, oh, Gin— it's like a dream. No, I think it is something more than a dream. The air here is filled with many stories, magic whispering through each walls, waiting for us to discover it. And I don't think I've stopped smiling since I arrived here.

Oh, on the train, I met this girl, named Hermione Granger. She has the biggest wildest brown curls and eyes that sparkle whenever she talks about books. She knows everything about Hogwarts. Did you know that the staircase move? I thought Ron was exaggerating, but no, they actually do! Hermione also told us that the castle has 142 staircases, and each one has a mind of its own. I like her already! She is like a book come to life. Harry said that I like her because she is smart and all nerd like me, how dare of him! But don't worry I'll take revenge about this. Sadly, Hermione was also sorted into Gryffindor with Harry and Ron.

And me? I got sorted into Ravenclaw! [ I hope Ron and Harry did not tell you yet because I told them not to! ] The Sorting Hat barely hesitated before calling it out, and my house cheered up for me. It felt good. And Gin, I must tell you this that the Ravenclaw Tower is breathtaking! It is high up in the west wing of the castle and from my window, I can see the everything! In night, the stars feels so close, like I could reach them and touch them. And the common room, it's filled with books, Hermione could have loved it, if she wasn't sorted into Gryffindor but anyway, it already feels like home here.

But it is not home without all you. I keep turning to say something, only to remember you are not beside me. Hogwarts is magical, but it would be even more magical if you were here too. I will write often, and when you will arrive next year, we will explore everything together.

Je t’aime toujours

Ella
I held her letter for a moment longer before carefully folding it and placing it with the others. My heart felt warm knowing that, even though they were far away, I wasn't forgotten.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

『HARRY』
Classes are harder than I thought. I knew Hogwarts would be challenging, but this? Merlin! It's like trying to catch a snitch in the middle of a hailstorm—I haven't experienced this—and I won't—but still! And I'm very much thankful that I've Dray and now Hermione. They make everything easier. Hermione as always is the first to answer, her hand shooting up before the professor even finishes speaking. But then, just as she was about to get points, Dray would speak up, either correcting Hermione or adding her theories. And just like that, the professor could award both of them with points. It's unfair, really but no one else stands a chance. Some students were impressed, especially the house ‘Perfect’, while others rolled their eyes and Ron could groan every time two of them start debating. But despite their academic rivalry, they're somehow best friends. At least… when it doesn't involve studies. Other times, they're laughing, chatting and sharing notes as if they haven't fought a few minutes ago in the classroom about books and theories. As if they weren't acting like crazy witches duelling on a battlefield. Yeah… While for me, I come to average. I'm not as brilliant as Hermione, and I don't have Dray's sharp logic. But I know a few things or two—thanks to Remus and Uncle Reg teaching. I could even answer when the professor could ask us a question but I don't. And I won't. Because the last thing I would know is getting dragged by Dray and Hermione into one of their debates and I don't want to. No. Absolutely not. I sigh as I look at my parchment—messy handwriting, too many words being cut, few ink drops— and glance at Dray parchment, who was sitting beside me. Her handwriting was elegant and neat as I expected. Not a single drop of ink was there and shockingly not a word was cut, as she continues to write, her quill barely pausing.  Across from us were Hermione and Ron. Hermione was completely lost in her work, her brows furrowed in concentration as she wrote at an alarming speed. While beside her was Ron and…Ron being Ron was playing with his deck for cards. Shuffling lazily and occasionally glancing at us. He then sighs dramatically and throws his cards onto the table, already getting bored. “Oi, how much longer is it gonna take?”  I looked at him, barely containing a sigh. He's never been one for studying, even back home, when Remus tried to teach us all. Beside him, Hermione let out a scoff. “You know Ron,” she says, finally looking up from her parchment to Ron. “You’re not going to win any house points with your cards and also you haven't even started your work.” He looks at her, a grin tugging his lips. “Maybe not, but at least I'm having fun and also you'll let me copy from you.” “No, I won't!” She said sternly. Dray chuckles at that, as Ron rolls his eyes and goes back to play with cards again while Hermione mutters something about house points and classes. ***** Whole Hogwarts know Theodore Nott and his minions thrive to make life miserable for anyone they consider weak. Normally, we all try to ignore them, but this time… he went too far. Right after breakfast, Hermione, Ron, Dray and I were making our way to class when we spotted them. A group of Slytherins, gathered in a circle, sneering at a Hufflepuff boy, who looked terrified. The boy was trembling, fists clenched in his robes and eyes shining with unshed tears as Nott and his minions, they taunted him more. “What’s wrong? Didn't mummy and Daddy teach you any magic? Oh wait—” he sneered, “they can't, can they?” Nott’s friend howled with laughter, their jeer echoing through the corridor making the boy flinch as other students looked at them. Before I could stop them Dray was the first to move. Without a word, she strode forward with hesitation, her robes flowing slightly behind her. Ron and I exchanged a quick look before following her and Hermione who was already behind her. “Bahck off, Nott” Dray's voice was sharp and cold which I've never heard before and I wish to never hear it again. Not to me. Nott just smirked, crossing his arms and completely unfazed. “Oh? And what’re you going to do about it, Black?” His friends snickered behind him. “Last warning, Nott. Bahck off.” Dray says, her jaw clenched. But Nott, he only smirked as his eyes glinted in cruel amusement.  “Or what?” He says, “Gonna hex me, Black? Didn't thought you'd be the type to care about someone beneath us—a muggleborn, a filthy mudblood—” Suddenly a sharp cry echoed through the crowded corridor as we all watched Nott stagger back, clutching his nose with both hands as blood seeped through his fingers. His smirk vanished, replaced by a look of shock and agony as he looked at Dray, his eyes full with tears.  Dray, she stood still in her place, breathing hard and fists clenched. Her knuckles were red. She just punched Nott straight in the nose. Nott friends stood in stunned silence, their laughter dying in their throats. Ron’s mouth hung open while Hermione's eyes were huge and even I was shocked as everyone else.  Dray's voice was low but steady when she spoke. “Say zat word again, Nott, and see what 'appens.”  Nott didn't dare to open his mouth. He didn't because despite his arrogance, he wasn't all stupid. And he knows—everyone knows that if he dares to say those words again then it won't go well. Hurried footsteps and familiar voices echoed through the corridor as students quickly parted, stepping aside as two towering figures approached. Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape. Professor McGonagall’s sharp eyes immediately landed on Dray, then flickered to Nott, who was still holding his bloody nose. Then a gasp escaped her lips. Professor Snape, on the other hand remains eerily calm as his eyes swept over the scene before he speaks, his voice like ice. “Can anyone explain what happened here?” Few students shifted uncomfortably, so did Nott friends as all cast nervous glances to one another. No one daring to speak up. But Hermione did. She stepped forward, her chin lifted and her voice clear as she told what happened. Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape lips pressed into a thin line as they both turn their gazes towards Nott. “Fifteen points from Slytherin, Mr Nott. And detention too. For now, go to hospital wing.” Professor Snape said, his dark eyes never leaving Nott, who walks away muttering something under his breath, his friends trailing behind him. “And Ten points from Ravenclaw. Violence is not the answer, Miss Black. You too will serve detention as well.” Professor McGonagall added firmly, but Dray said nothing. She just stood and nods her head. *****
—and then Dray punched him! Really hard! And I won't lie Gin, but that git deserve it. Every bit of it. But now, she’s got detention because him. Later, we tried to talked to her, but she didn't say anything… not a single word Gin! And that's worrying us all.

Dray isn't like this. I know her, Gin! She isn't like this at all. Yes, she gets angry—really angry—but never shut herself off like this. And today, she barely reacted to anything we said after the incident and to be honest with you, that's worrying me Gin. Very much. It hurts me to see her like this.

Gin, ple ase write to her as soon as you can. Maybe your letter will help. Please.

Harry
