Chapter One-

The Myth

Once upon a time… that was how it started. The magic in those four little words would have my heart racing as a child. The Wonder and amazement of pirates and people who could fly with the help of a shadow, pixies, and fairies with their magical dust was my favorite when I was a child. The way my father would tell me about the adventures of the lost boys and the magic of the tree house, he would often look off in the distance as if it was a memory more than a story he was recalling. There was one person he never spoke the name of, and he always just referred to him as the leader.

I would often ask him if we could go to this strange but exciting land. I longed to see the lagoon with the mermaids who would brush their long hair, and the flowers he said were vibrant with color, and the scant from the oils would linger on your skin for days. As a child, I wondered how such a place could be so cruel to make almost every member of my family crazy. The older I got, the more I worried that the same thing would happen to me. That someone or something would come and steal me away in the middle of the night when I turned nineteen.

I could always tell he wanted and needed to talk more about his time away. I remember even asking a few times about the scar that curved around his forearm. It looked like it had been made by a hook or some sort of curved blade. He would just shake his head and dismiss me, or on the worst days; he would yell and drag me to my room for even bringing it up, for disturbing his peace, he would say.

"Willa?"

A voice pulled me from my thoughts; I looked down at the boy under me. I had forgotten he was there. This had to be some of the worst sex I had ever had in my life. Still, it didn't matter; he was willing, and so was I.

"Hmm," I reply as I continue to move my hips in a circular motion.

"You like that?" he asked as he planted his feet the best her could in the cramped car and thrust up.

"Oh yes," I called out as I tossed my head back, giving him the best show I could. If I was truthful, he wasn't even a decent lay. I was only here because I needed to get away for a few hours, "Oh yes, ooh," I gave him another bit of a show as he pounded into me fast, chasing his release. It didn't take long for him to finish with a grunt while I clenched my pussy, pretending to finish with him.

I slipped off of him and adjusted my panties as I climbed back into the passenger seat. He tucked himself away, smiling ear to ear as he looked over. He was handsome, in a way. The captain of some team, baseball? Maybe it was basketball, but it didn't matter; I probably wasn't going to be around after tonight anyway. The thought always weighed heavy on me. I was an only child, after all, and if the stories were true and the boogeyman from the beautiful far-off island was going to kidnap me, at least I knew I'd be brought back.

I watched as the trees swayed in the light breeze, sometimes finding comfort in the sound of the rustling leaves. The car ride was quiet all the way to my house. The only sound was the soft music coming from the radio. I pointed to the street where he needed to turn. He pulled up to the curb, put the car into park, and turned to me.

"Hey, umm, there's this party this weekend, and I was wondering if you wanted to go," the boy asked.

"I don't know," I replied; I didn't know if I wanted to go to the party. If anything, I could get lost in free alcohol and drugs and numb myself so I didn't have to deal with my dad, who had become more and more manic the closer it got to my birthday.  I didn't say anything else besides text me as I got out. I closed the door behind me as he said something. It didn't matter; I sighed when I saw the curtain move; my dad was waiting for me, and this was never a good sign.

I slowly walked up the stone steps, careful not to knock over the small rot iron railing that lined the walkway. The thing swayed in the lightest breeze I wondered how it never fell over. The house was a beautiful two-story old Victorian. The paint was peeled, and the trim was nearly gone, but Dad said it gave the place character. The front door was my favorite, with an inlay of stained glass that bounced off the oof-white walls inside during the early morning hours. These were things I liked about this house, things that I knew, like all the other places we had lived, would eventually fade from memory.

When I reached the front door, it didn't take too long for me to hear the click of the deadbolt being undone before my father pulled the door open and gave me a stern look of disappointment.

"Where the fuck have you been?!" my father shouted the second I was through the door.

I took a deep breath and walked past him. "I don't know why it matters; I'm still here," I replied as I made my way into the kitchen. I could hear my father's heavy work boots on the hardwood floor. The sound stopped when I took my bag off my shoulder and tossed it on the counter.

"I told you a thousand times that today of all the fucking days were not the ones to go running off with some boy!" he shouts, the level increasing with each word.

"Whatever," I mumble as I open the fridge door. My stomach groans when I see there's nothing except expired milk. I close the door, knowing I'm more than likely not going to find anything else in the house—another night of going to bed hungry.

I grabbed my bag off the counter; my dad was still at the thresh hold of the kitchen, arms crossed over his chest. He was a tall man, over six feet, I would guess; I never asked him; he often told me I looked like his mother, who I never met. She, like him, was taken by the supposed boogeyman, and while he was gone, she had committed suicide. She had left him a note saying that if he did manage to make it back, she was sorry. His bright blue eyes were watching every moment I made; it was making me uneasy. I knew that look, and it was never a good thing for me.

The pain exploded; it came from nowhere, knocking the wind out of me. I tried to inhale, but nothing was happening. It was like all the oxygen had been sucked out of the room, and black spots were forming at the edges of my eyes. I could barely see who was standing over me. A blurry vision, I tired and miserably failed to move away. The pain was blinding; I was still struggling to breathe as I was dragged across the floor, my shoes falling off as I tried to get some traction on the polished floor. I kicked out only to feel my got catch on the door frame. As I pulled, the pain was getting worse; my scalp was on fire, and I was pretty sure I had dislocated two of my toes.

"Daddy, please," I cried hoarsely, the lump in my throat making it hard to get the words out.

The words fell on deaf ears as he hauled me up, tightening his grip on my hair, his fingers now caught in the tangles. I couldn't stop the tears that rolled down my cheeks, dripping off my chin and wetting the front of my dress. I tried to keep up, but I kept stumbling as my father dragged me up the stairs. It was a few more minutes before we were outside the door to my room. He turned me to look at him.

My father's face was full of fury. His eyes were wild and panicked as he opened the door, shoving me inside; I felt the hair rip from my scalp when Dad let go. The shock of landing on my knees vibrated through my whole body and made my ears ring.

"You will stay here," My father said and slammed the door.

I could hear something happening outside of the door; I didn't want to know if I was honest. I knew what was happening deep in my heart. My father was locking me in my room. There was no getting out. I clawed to the pallet of blankets and pillows that were in the corner. My father never bothered with furniture; the one time I had a real bed was when we spent a week in a motel room. I wrapped the blankets around me and silently let the tears roll down my face. This wasn't the first time my father had attacked me; it was often that he would either be having fit yelling that I wasn't his daughter or that my shadow was trying to kill him. He needed to stop it before it devoured him.

When I was little, it would scare me, and I would be as still and quiet as I could be not to set him off. I missed too much school because of the bruises left behind, so when we moved, hiding from the child protective service and the police, he started homeschooling me. My father would make sure we moved to states where they didn't check to make sure he was teaching me anything; he just needed to make sure that I attended.

Now, I didn't care. I knew it was my fault. I should have stayed in as he told me; I should have listened to him, but maybe deep down, I liked it; I craved the attention; I wanted him to see me, to love me. I think that was something else deep down I knew he was incapable of doing; his brain wouldn't allow him; maybe that was the real reason my mother left him. Not because she wanted to start a new life without me and because she didn't love me anymore as my father had told me, but because it was him that she couldn't stand to be around.

BOOM! I shoot up, clutching the raggy blanket to my chest. I pressed myself closer to the wall when I heard the lock click; the squeak of the door knob made my heart rate skyrocket. Was this it? Was he, whoever he was, here to take me away? The thoughts raced through my head.

"You're awake?" my dad asked, standing in the doorway. The dim light behind him obscured his features.

"You scared me," I replied, relaxing a bit.

He nodded, stepping into the room. He looked around before closing the door behind him. The soft glow of the street lamps cast a small amount of light into my room, which I could see as he moved forward. I furrowed my brow, watching him, wondering what that noise was. He was currently barefoot, in his pajama bottoms. My father only wore a shirt to bed when it was cold.

"Your grandmother locked me in a closet on my nineteenth birthday," he said casually as if it was an everyday thing for his mother to lock him in a closet. He sat down on the hard floor, looking up at the ceiling.

"I'm sorry she did that," I replied, unable to think of anything else to say. I already knew this; one time, he told me about it and how it had scared him.

"I hope this helps," he gestured around the room.

I sighed, looking at runes and words written in some dead language that may or may not have been real at some point. I rubbed at the scars. I tried not to remember what happened that night. It was a few months after we moved in. I shuddered at the memory, shoveling it down into the box with all the other stuff I didn't want to deal with, slamming the lid, and locking it away.

"Willa, I promise none of this is to be cruel," My dad looked at me as he spoke, "I don't want you to have his curse," he tapped his temple.

"I know," I replied, unsure of what to say. I was still sore. I'm pretty sure I had bruises along my hips where I slammed into the first few steps, and my scalp was still tender. I reached up and softly touched the spot on the crown of my head. I swallowed hard against the lump in my throat.

"Get some sleep," he said before he stood.

I laid back down on the old blankets that, even after several washes, still smelled like the inside of great-great, however many great grandma Darling's chests. It was the only thing that Dad kept with him. It was strange he would leave everything else that was special to him; he said when he died, it would be my turn to care for it; I like the idea of having something from the family even if, at times, I wanted nothing to do with the Darling line and all their problems.

I sat back up, now unable to fall back to sleep. I looked out the window, the sky clear and bright, brighter than usual; I furrowed my brow. Maybe it was always like this, and I never paid attention to the beauty. I sighed and looked over my shoulder at the door; I would be able to hear if my father came back. I tossed the blanket off of me. I lifted my pillow and opened the fabric that held its contents. I searched for a few minutes before I found what I was looking for. The small blade I had unscrewed from an old pencil sharpener. I burned the blade, making sure it was clean enough
, I
stretched my leg out, lifting the hem of my dress over my thigh.

It wasn't even a thought anymore as I guided the sharp edge across my skin; I watched as the blood beaded up like tiny little rubies. The red was in stark contrast to my alabaster skin. I wished I could tan even just a little, but the genes I was blessed with made me look like something out of an old Victorian-era film. I sighed and watched as the blood began to crumble over. It wasn't a deep cut, but it was enough to relieve the tension I was feeling. I tucked the blade into my sweater pocket. I didn't even bother getting up to change my dress. Instead, I laid my head back against the wall and looked out the window.

I must have fallen asleep. The sound of scuffling outside my door roused me, and I quickly stood. This was not a normal sound in my house. When my father went to bed, he was screaming and crying. This... this was a fight, a full-fledged fight that, to my surprise, came crashing through my bedroom door. I tried to cover my face, but I was still bombarded with splinters of wood.

"Oh my god! DAD!"

I looked up, and a tall man stood in the doorway, a cigarette hanging out of the corner of his mouth. I took a steadying breath, drinking him in. He was beautiful, I thought to myself as I breathed out. The groan brought me back to my father before I could drink in more of the stranger's appearance.

"You can't take her," my dad coughed, trying to scoot back, "I won't let you," he grunted as the man stepped further into the room. "Stay where you are," he said, turning to look at me.

I wasn't going to move; I didn't know if this man had just broken in thinking no one lived here or if this was the myth that was coming to take me away and bring me back brainbroken.

"Are you Willamina?" his voice husky and rough but soothing.

I nodded, user if that was a smart thing to admit to or not. My father tried to grab onto the stranger. I could tell his arm was hurt badly, if not broken. I pressed myself to the wall hoping that it would give way and suck me in. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. He stepped closer to me; there was nowhere for me to go; the windows were nailed shut. I braced myself as he kicked the pile of blankets out of the way.

"We can do this the easy way or the hard way," the tall man said, taking a drag from his cigarette and flicking the ash off the end before placing the stick back into his mouth.

I cleared my throat, looking down at my dad, who was trying to get up; the man took a deep breath and turned as my father made it to his feet. The man cocked his arm back, letting it go catching my father in the jaw and knocking him clean out; he knelt and cocked his head to the side.

"He will be fine, tough bastard, that one," the man said, removing the cigarette from his mouth and holding it between his first and second knuckles. He took another drag as he stood, lifting his foot and stamping out the glow. "Let's go; I don't have time to wait," he said.

I could have run while he was distracted, but my legs wouldn't move. I couldn't do anything but watch as the man stalked his way back over to me. He grabbed me by the front of my dress, pulling me to him. I trembled; I couldn't stop my body from shaking. The smell of tobacco, the sea breeze, and the night air filled my nose, loading my senses. It was a lovely scent.

"Don't worry, Darling."

Those were the last words I heard before the world went fuzzy.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Chapter Two

The Tree House-

There is this moment between sleep and wake when I enjoy the silence of the morning, which is cut short by the cry of a seagull. I tried to open my eyes, but the sun was too bright. Closing them, I took a deep breath. I slowly opened my eyes when I shifted my weight. I felt and heard the clank of a chain.

"Okay," I sigh out under my breath, inspecting the iron around my wrist. There was no padlock on it, and there wasn't even a keyhole. "Don't panic; it's going to be okay," I whispered to myself and took a deep breath. I had to think about what the last thing I remembered was.

I took inventory first of myself and then of my surroundings. I was clothed, which was a good sign. The room was a decent size, with not too much furniture. The one thing that stood out was the giant tree in the middle of the room. The hardwood floor had been cut to go around it. A few branches spread out, and small limbs slivered out. A bird, a parrot with its bright-colored feathers, stood out against the green of the leaves and smooth surface of the bark.

The cry of a seagull pulled my attention away from the tree to the windows. The curtains were lacey and off-white, letting in most of the light. This place had a strange feeling to it; it was static and something I couldn't figure out. I carefully scooted to the end of the bed. I looked toward the door, which was open, but no one was there. I thought that it was a bit strange that no one was watching the prisoner. If I could figure out how to get the cuff off, then maybe I could escape.

I pulled my foot up, tumbling back on the bed as the pain shot through my leg; I looked down at a giant purple and red bruise the same shape as the door frame marred the top of my foot, the memory of my father dragging me down the hall and up the stairs came flooding back. I remember the man that took me, a huge ghost of a man. I shook my head like it was going to get rid of the memories. I stood again, this time holding on to the small table next to the bed; the small lamp had the faintest glow of a flame that danced as I made my way to the window, the chain clicking as I moved.

I gasped when I looked out the window. The waves rolled up the sand, not too far away. It was beautiful, and the water was crisp and clear. It was the most perfect thing I had ever seen in my life. I tried to open the window.

"Fuck," I gasped out, trying to steady myself on one foot.

"Those windows don't open," a deep male voice said softly behind me.

"What the hell?!" I yelled, startled at the sound, placing a hand on my chest and trying to slow my heart rate.

"I'm Kas," he introduced himself.

"What is this place? Are you going to kill me?" I asked, trying to press myself as close to the wall as possible, "Why am I chained up?"

"No, we aren't going to kill you," he replied as he stepped into the room, holding his hands up as I scooted to the other side of the room, "come with me, Darling
, I'll
get you some food. The chain was to keep you safe, to keep you from wandering off."

He was handsome, with silky black hair and tawny brown skin. His eyes were soft but still had a hard edge. The black lines tattooed down his chest crept their way down below the waistband of his jean shorts. Kas stopped beside me. He smelled amazing, like the ocean with a hint of lemon grass.

"Good, she's up," another voice similar to Kas' said from the doorway.

I looked up and then at Kas. There were two, but only the one in the doorway had his hair cropped close to his head, the top a bit longer, and flopped in front of his forehead.

"Yes, you are seeing double," he teased.

"Shut up, Bash," Kas replied before I even had a chance to think of a comeback.

I committed their names to memory, Kas and Bash. At least I knew they weren't going to kill me, "So, what makes me insane like my dad and his dad and all the others?" I asked, rubbing my wrist when Kas removed the chain. It was strange that he didn't have a key, but the cuff opened at his light touch.

I watched as Bash moved deeper into the room. He was a copy of his brother. I assumed he had the same tattoos trailing down his chest past his waistband. He wore a light T-shirt that covered him.

"How are you feeling?" Bash asked and stopped next to the bed, "The journey can be rough sometimes."

"I'm okay, for ya know, being kidnapped," I replied with a shrug. What the hell was I going to say? I wasn't even sure if anything was real. Maybe it was a shared madness between the family members. They talk about it and share it, showing so much that it eventually drives us all crazy. The truth was it was real, the pain from all the bruises I could feel all over my body, the cry of the gull, the soft sound of the waves as they rolled in and out, the man standing in front of me, the heat coming from his body told me all this is was extremely real.

"I'll get you some water," Bash said before he turned and headed out the door.

"Are you sure you are, okay?" Kas asks, his eyes softer than they were when he first entered the room.

I nodded and hissed slightly, trying to put my foot down. Kas frowned and looked at my foot; he reached out and gently took my leg; he looked up, and I gave him a slow nod, letting him know it was okay. There was something about him that I was just stupid for thinking it, but something that I could almost trust. I jumped when he poked at the bruise. He made a face, looking up when Bash came back into the room; a glass of water in hand, condensation was already sliding down the side.

"What happened?" Bash asked, handing me the glass the same furrowed borrow as his brother.

"Umm, I," I put the glass of water to my mouth and took a slip. I didn't know if words could describe the taste of the water, but it was magnificent, cold, refreshing, everything you would hear in an ad on TV for water. There weren't enough adjectives in the world. I drained the cup and set it on the table behind me.

"You gonna tell us?" Kas asked, looking up at me.

I shook my head. I didn't want to tell them, but it was embarrassing. "I didn't really remember," I lied. "Why am I here?"

"How much did your dad tell you?" Bash asked, taking a metal case from his back pocket; he flipped it open, took a cigarette out, and lit it with the lighter he pulled from his other pocket as Kas put my foot down.

"Not that much," I answered.

He always said he would tell me what to expect, but when I brought it up, he would get angry, and I shuddered at that memory.

The twins looked at each other. I knew they were going to be trouble—the worst kind I could get myself into. They kind of reminded me of these twins I went to grade school with. They were horrible children, always getting up to no good, putting worms in my peanut butter and jelly, and smashing my lunch if they could. I didn't take Bash and Kas for the worms in my food kind of trouble; they were something I could put my finger on.

Dad never told me their names; he would always refer to them as the lost boys or the leader. I had no clue if they were the ones who took my father on an adventure or if they were the ones who terrified him. It didn't matter; all that mattered was being careful, which was the most important thing.

The sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the room. The twins stopped their silent conversation and looked from the door back to me. I was always good at reading people. It was a skill I had picked up from my father; knowing the moods kept me safe. When the twin's posture shifted from relaxed to tense, I knew something was about to happen, and I knew deep in my soul that I wasn't going to like whatever it was.

I couldn't breathe when he darkened the doorway. It was like being punched in the stomach. I couldn't inhale. He wasn't as muscular as the twins, but that didn't matter. The parrot that had been quietly chatting in the tree few up higher like it knew something about the person in the doorway. It wasn't going to stick around to fill me in on the secret. His presents took up as much space as he did. The three long scars across a jet-black eye it was like looking at a void or what I imagined a black hole would look like; his other eye was a stark contrast violet, and his eye was beautiful.

"The Darling is awake," this new person stated, with no emotion in his voice. He leaned in the doorway, snatching the rest of Bash's cigarette out of his mouth. He eyed me up and down as he pinched it between his thumb and forefinger, taking a long drag. "She cry yet?" he asked, not exhaling the smoke from his lungs, giving his voice a different pitch.

Kas sighed and folded his arms across his chest. "No, but I don't think she will break that easily," he replied, turning his attention to the man with the two different-colored eyes.

He sighed, taking another drag from the cigarette and turning his attention to me. I looked down at the floor. There was nothing else I could do. The overwhelming feeling of foreboding was filling me, and I sank down to the floor, wishing it would open up and swallow me so the anxiety would leave. Dad had told me that the land was a place of magic, but what the hell was this? This wasn't the magic my father talked about; this, this was not magic. Magic was fun and light; this was dark, like a nightmare brought to life.

I swallowed hard against the lump that was growing in my throat, I tried to take a deep breath, count to ten, and find five things that were real but nothing, none of the tactics were working; it was like it was making it worse, the threat of scream was bubbling at the base of my throat. I could feel the panic; it was like the memories I buried deep in my mind had been brought to the surface, forcing their way out.

"Don't be a dick, Vane," Kas said.

I looked up at the sound of the other voice, which was full of concern. Vane was looking at me as he took the final drag of the cigarette. He narrowed his eyes at me, and this time, I couldn't look away. My heart rate was so fast at this point I was one hundred percent sure that it was going to beat out of my chest. My hands clawed at the hardwood floor, trying to get some sort of grip to help me lunge out of the room. I wasn't even sure of anything besides needing to leave the room; the sensation washed over me like a cold shower. The only way to get everything to stop was to get out.

"VANE!" Bash exclaimed.

I took a breath, letting it out as the hold or magic, whatever the fuck it was, slowly released me from its grasp. My breathing was ragged, and my face was hot and sticky with tears.

"What in the actual fuck?" I asked, looking up at the three men; what the hell were they doing to me? What were they going to do to me?

"Darling?" Kas questioned, his brown eyes filled with... was that care? Worry?

"Hm?" I asked, still unable to catch my breath.

Before Kas could say anything, Vane told them to bring me out and that he could only take me playing dumb for so long. Bash nodded, and Kas tried to help me off the floor. I batted his hand away. I was still reeling from what magic had just done to me. Every single nerve ending was on fire.

"We don't bite," Bash said, standing closer to his twin. "Unless you're into that, then we do." He laughed.

Kas rolled his eyes, holding his hands out to help me if I needed it. I closed my eyes as I took a step. The pain shot through me, and crumpled back down to the floor. The sound of chimes rang out, but I couldn't focus on the sound. My foot throbbed. That was the only thing on my mind. How would I have helped this person who was a leader if I couldn't walk? That was a weird thought. How did I know I needed to help him? Maybe it was a memory, a story my father had told me.

I held onto the table as I made my way to the bed, holding on to what I could so I didn't have to put too much weight on my foot. Kas sighed and scooped me up into his arms, making me yell with surprise.

"Sorry, Darling, but I want to wrap this foot while Bash makes you some food," he said carefully, carrying me out the door into the hall.

Chapter Three

The Leader

“Oh, she's here?” A bright, cheery female voice said, making all of us turn.

“Hey, Cherry, meet the newest Darling,” Bash said, gesturing to me.

“Hi,” I said with a mouthful of pancakes.

She smiled brightly at me, taking a seat on the other side, leaning on the counter. I tried not to notice how she stuck her chest out when she asked Bash if there was any food left over; Kas replied with a very cold no, like he didn't like the red-headed girl next to me. She pouted a bit.

“You can have some of mine; I don't mind,” I said, scooting the plate and fork towards her and fork toward her.

I watched as she took a bite. She, too, did a happy dance in her seat. She turned her attention to me and smiled as she chewed.

“So, are they being nice to you?” Cherry asked, cutting another bite. Sometimes, they can be rough...” She paused, eating the cake and handing the fork back to me. " Most of the lost boys are, you know, since their mamas abandoned them, and well...”

“Cherry,” Kas and Bash scolded in unison, their faces hard lines.

Her face dropped, the redness creeping in her cheeks, making the freckles that covered her face stand out even more. I could see that she lacked the confidence to stand up to the boys. What harm was she doing? Cherry was just trying to check on me and make sure they were being nice. It was nice to see another woman here. My dad only talked about the lost boys and the leader, so I didn’t know what to expect.

“Hey, give some to Willa,” Kas said, reaching over and sliding the plate back in front of me.

“It's okay, really; there's no way I can eat them all,” I said, pushing the plate back in front of Cherry.

I saw the look of confusion on her face, torn between eating the pancakes and listening to the twins. She smiled and cut another bite, this time a lot smaller. We watched as the twins stepped out of the room to talk. It was strange. I woke up with a tether, but now they are leaving me with my own devices.

“So,” I said, looking at the redhead next to me, “Tell me what I need to know about this place.”

Cherry shook her head, “I can't... It's more complicated than you think,” she whispered, looking towards the door the twins stepped out of, “The lost boys are older than they look; everyone is older than they look, and Pan, whatever happened here well that was way before I came,” she finished visibly shaken she slid the plate of food back to me before I could even ask about Pan the twins came back into the room Bash snapped at Cherry telling her to leave, she gave my had a light squeeze before running off.

“Finish up,” Kas said, taking his seat next to me.

“Pan will be awake soon; he will want to see you,” Bash added, looking out the double doors that lead to the balcony,

“Who is Pan?” I asked; I figured I should know something about him.

“Your dad didn't tell you?” Kas asked, watching my mouth as I placed the bite of food at my lips.

I shook my head and slowly took a bite. Watching him squirm a bit made me smile. “Is he the guy who brought me here?”

“Yes,” Bash said, not giving much else in reply.

I guess
I should have listened to my dad more and
maybe
asked more questions, no matter how mad he got.
That could be why I stopped believing most of what he said and the reaction it created in him. I finished the last of what was on my plate. Bash took it and tossed it in the sink with the rest of the dishes and turned the water on, I offered to do the dishes, but the twins declined, telling me to stay where I was and off my foot. I nodded and looked out the window. In this place, there was no sense of time, no clocks; it was strange; I felt like it should only be the afternoon, and now I was watching the night sky turn a dusky pink and purple, one of the most absolutely beautiful sunsets I had ever seen in my life.

“Come on, let's see if you can walk,” Kas said, tossing a dish towel on the island.

I didn’t even realize that they had finished the cleaning up; I took his hand. They were rough and calloused but strangely soft. I took a deep breath and stood; I smiled. There was no pain. The twins smiled, telling me to follow them to the bar room, where Pan liked to meet. By the time we reached the bar room, it was dark, the lanterns that hung on the walls illuminating the way. I looked around, and it was a decent size. Everything you would expect a bar in someone's home to look like. Bottles lined the mirrored wall; I had a strange thought of watching myself in that mirror; I shook it from my head. It was too soon to be having those kinds of thoughts about the twins
, but if
I wanted to be truly honest with myself, it was their kindness towards me that was the biggest turn on, sure they were attractive and muscular; they could squish me like a bug but something in the way they looked at me, I knew it was different than any other Darling that had been brought to this place. The couch was a soft down velvet, and a wing-backed chair sat opposite the couch. At some point, it was probably a vibrant green but now was reduced to a yellowish green.

“What are those?’ I asked, pointing to the little bugs that were flying around the tree.

“Never bugs,” Bash replied with a smile, “Your dad didn't tell you much, did he?”

I shook my head and took the cup that Kas was now offering to me, an amber liquid in the bottom. I took a small sip; the liquid burned my throat. “I didn't believe most of what he said,” I admitted, looking into the cup like it had some sort of answer to the reason why I should have believed him. He never really told me about Pan; he just called him the leader,” I added before taking another small sip of the drink.

I wanted to ask what happened and what I was supposed to help them find that so many generations couldn't. I swallowed the rest of my drink, letting the burn wash over me. Heavy boots echoed through the room as the twins tried to lighten the mood, laughing at their own jokes and making me smirk.

“He has risen,” Bash laughed, looking towards the door.

It was him, the man who had broken into my home assaulted my father, kidnapped me, brought me to this beautiful place, and I couldn't look away. He was too pleasing to the eye; it was frustrating. I should have been angry, scared of everything that someone who had been taken against their will, but I wasn't; I was at ease here.

I watched as he walked across the room, his gate grateful for his height. Unlike Vane, he wasn't scary, but he did command attention. I could feel the heat in my cheeks when he caught me looking at him in the mirror. I was curious what his hair would look like in the sun. In this room with the lanterns was a pretty shade of copper.

I can't look at him; the tension in the air is too thick. Maybe it was just me sitting alone on the couch. I set my glass down on the floor next to me and pulled my sweater around me. The need to hide, the need to see the ruby droplets on my skin, is making me more anxious. I look up when he snaps. Bash hurries over a cigarette case open.

I watch as Pan—I'm assuming he is Pan—takes a lighter from his pocket. He flicks it, and a flame bursts to life. The orange and blue light up his face for a second before it goes out again. I wish I could see his eye color. I found myself hoping they were green, a soft jade that would be pretty against the copper of his hair.

“Do you know who I am?” he asked as he took a drag from his cigarette.

I shook my head. “My dad never told me your name,” I replied, and I looked at him.

He sighed, letting the smoke curl out of his nose, “I'm Peter Pan,” he said, letting the cigarette hang out of the corner of his mouth.

“I'm Williamina,” I replied, not sure if that was what I was supposed to say.

Pan shot the twins a glare when they broke out in stifled laughs at me. I frowned at them. They should know that this was nerve-wracking. How many of my family members have they met? They had to know that we were an awkward family, or maybe it was just me.

“Get up,” Pan said before draining the liquid in his cut.

I looked at the twins
, before
I could even say anything, Pan interjected, telling me there was nothing the twins could do to help me. I nodded and stood grateful that the pain in my foot was gone. I felt even more self-conscience standing there, like I was on display and Pan was disappointed with what he was seeing. I couldn't read the look on his face
,
it was frustrating not being able to read his mood.

Vane fell in line next to Pan when he called out his name; the twins gave me a reassuring nod and a reminder not to run. The tone was light, but I didn't miss the warning in Kas’s voice. I followed as Pan and Vane turned towards the large doors that headed out to the balcony. I followed, kind of wishing the twins were coming with us, but they stayed behind; after my first experience with Vane, I didn't want a repeat, but I guess I didn't have a choice.

We walked across the balcony and down the steps. The wood was soft under my feet. The scent of a bonfire filled my nose. The light cracking of the wood burning was soothing in a strange way. The light sound of a party drifted up the steps as we made our way down. The music stopped abruptly, making me stop as I stepped down. I watched as everyone stopped when they were going and bowed to Pan.

I was taken aback by this. Was he a king? My dad left out a lot of details that seem important to my situation now. I didn’t realize that Vane had moved behind me; he shoved me, telling me to walk.

I pulled my sweater around my middle and followed Pan, keeping my head down. This was weird; it was very cult-like in a way; the sound of chatting and music resumed when we moved off the porch onto the packed sand; I looked up,
then
the scent of flowers filled the air; the fragrance was something I had never smelled before. I plucked one of the blooms and rolled it in my fingers. It was a beautiful red and orange similar to hibiscus; I sniffed the oils left behind on my fingers, which I wanted to keep in a bottle; I rubbed the oil on my wrists, hoping the scent would last a while. I was careful as we made our way down the winding path, lined with torches leading us to the beach.

We stopped walking when Pan did. Vane was standing next to me like a bodyguard, ready to pounce if I tried to run.

“Look around, Darling,” Pan says, arms spread out.

I looked around the miles and miles of beach and ocean, curious if there was a town or any other people who lived on the land.

“This is Neverland,” Pan said when my eyes settled on him again. This place is not in your world,” he added before continuing. You can swim for miles and miles, and you will never get home. Do you understand me?” he finished.

I licked my lips, taking in everything
that
Pan was telling me
,
I should be scared, but I wasn’t
,
“Why am I here?” I asked, taking a brave step forward. I didn’t know what I was thinking, but I was getting tired of not knowing anything. “Why do you keep taking my family members?” I wasn’t going to back down
; I
needed answers, suddenly feeling bol
d,”
When can I go home?"

“Is that what you really want? To go home?” Pan asked, looking me over.

I held my ground. “Why wouldn't I want to go home?” I questioned. Maybe he could tell that I hesitated to ask that particular question, but I didn't want to make sure my dad was okay.

“That's not an answer,” Pan quipped, looking from me to Vane and back again.

I took a deep breath, “I don't want to be a prisoner,” I finally said after a few moments.

I could feel Vane shift next to me. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye. His eyes were just as intense as they were when we were in my room. I looked back to Pan. He was just as intimidating, but I wasn't going to show him that.

“I don't know if I can even help you find whatever the hell you are looking for,” I said, tossing my hands in the air before dropping them to my sides. Balling my hands into fists, I tried to calm myself down. I need to get home, I need to make sure my dad is okay.”

“I saw what he did to you. Do you really wanna go back?” Pan questioned, his eyebrow raised.

“Yes!” I yelled, “I don't care what he did. He is my father, and he will be lost without me,” my voice getting higher with each word. “Take me home...” My words were cut off in my throat.

I could feel that overwhelming feeling when my dad was angry and about to explode for no reason other than he was annoyed or having a bad day. I backed away from Pan, bumping Vane as I backed away; I couldn't help it; the need to flee, the need to find a place to hide, was too strong. It didn't matter Bash’s warning, Vane's warning to not run.

I didn't know I could run that fast; I wasn't usually one to run.

“Oof,” I slammed into something, and I fell back onto the sand.

“Weren't you told that you were to fucking run?” Pan questions as he reaches out, grabs me by the arm, and drags me to my feet.

“How? I...” I couldn't think around the panic that gripped me. I reached into my sweater pocket, clutching the little blade in my hand—that was real. I took in a deep breath, smelling the salty air, the flowers, and Peter Pan. The smell of his cigarette still lingered on him. “I'm sorry, I didn't...” I was still breathing hard. “I was scared.”

I could see Pan’s face soften a bit as if he felt bad for me. " It's Vane, his,’ he thought about the words for a second. His specialty is terror; he can force you to feel it,” he looked at me. " He didn't mean it,” he added, like it was supposed to make me feel better.

“What the fuck?” I asked, pulling my arm from his grip, “I'm going insane like my dad; I knew it; I knew this was going to happen,” I scoffed and wiped a stray tear from my eyes.

Pan sighed. “Come on, back to the house,” he said, pointing in the direction of the tree house.

“No! I wanna go home,” I demanded, folding my arms across my chest.

Pan mirrored me. It was hard not to notice how built he was. His arms were the size of my whole body. “Tell me the real reason you want to go home.”

I looked down, kicking at the sand. I felt the hot tears build at the edge of my eyes. “I...” My voice broke. I sniffed. I don't wanna be like everyone in my family.” I finally answered, my voice thick with tears. I couldn't look at him. It was too much to share with a person I didn't even know. I don't want to be crazy.”

“Look, all I can say is how insane you get is up to you,” Pan told me. The more you fight, the worse it is. " He stepped closer, lifting my chin with his fingers. I couldn’t move
;
the touch was so tender. Now, so help me if you don't head back to the house
.
I will toss you over my shoulder,” he smiled.

The wind started to pick up, and the sound of the waves crashing on the nearby rocks was almost deafening. “When can I go home?” I yelled over the howl of the wind.

Peter let go of my chin and ran a hand through his hair, looking frustrated, “As soon as I know if you can help me find what I am looking for,” he answered, looking down at me.

God, he was tall. This was annoying. “And when will that be? Tomorrow? Next week?”

He grumbled something about asking questions before leaning down and holding me up. I yelled at him to let me go. I would have sworn I felt him chuckle as I tried to wiggle my way out of his arms.

“Hey, that's enough; I will tie you up and drag you back to the house,” Pan said, bracing a tight arm across my thighs before he started walking.

I sighed and went limp; there was no use
;
I wasn't getting out of his grip, and if I kept wiggling, my dress was going to ride higher and higher. I wanted shy, far from it but I didn't need all of Neverland seeing up my dress. I ignored the stares we got from the lost boys sitting on the patio
, the
music picked back up when Pan took the steps back up to the bar room.

He
unceremoniously tossed me onto the couch
when we finally reached the room
. I quickly scrambled to pull my dress down over my legs, and I caught the twins staring
;
I know Kas saw maybe Bash, but Kas raised an eyebrow in question. I shook my head. It wasn't my fault that I ran
;
hell, I didn't even want to
,
but
Vane did his magic or whatever the hell
that
happened.

“Look, little Darling, here is what you need to know,” Pan’s voice broke through the silence in the room, “Something was taken from me a long time ago; it was hidden, and I need you to help,”

I cut him off.” I don't,” I started. He looked at me, staring straight at me, and my heart stopped. His eyes were beautiful and commanding. He was beautiful. His eyes weren't the pretty shade of jade I was hoping for, but in the light of this room, they were more like clouds on a sunny day, a soft white. As lovely as they were, it was also terrifying to have them now trained on me.

“Stop talking. I do not need your permission to dig through your memories,” Pan said, taking a drag of a cigarette he had gotten from one of the twins. He let the smoke curl in his mouth before speaking again.” The more you are willing to help, the easier it will be,” he finished, pouring himself a drink and taking a long sip from the glass.

I couldn't look at him. I couldn't put my finger on it, but something was unsettling about his stare, the way he stood there staring. He was godly, unlike any other man I had seen in my life. Something was pulling me in, and I was terrified that I was going to drown in Pan if I let myself.
I think it
was the magic of this place of Neverland that was clawing into me, making me feel ways I shouldn't about the people who came in the night and took away.
I should have hated them; they should have been my enemies, but they were kind and strange. I sighed and turned away
, I
watched as the tree that they had built their house around released another leaf; it fluttered as it fell, and in some strange way, I felt like the leaf, only I did not know if I would land among the other leaves of somewhere else.

“Do you understand what I am saying?” Pan asked. The light glistened off the silver rings he was wearing, and even his hands were attractive.

I nodded, “Yes.” I couldn't say much more because I didn't trust my voice not to shake.

“Good girl,” Pan purred, a smile
played
at the corner of his mouth
, “
Put her in her room.”

Bash and Kas looked at each other; they looked unsure of what to do with that command.

“Now,” Pan ordered before draining the glass, leaving it on the counter, and leaving the room.

Kas sighed, “Come on, Mina. " He walked to me holding his hand out, “I promise we will be nicer than Pan. " He added the sentence, sounding a bit sarcastic.

Bash was already out the door, walking down the hall as Kas and I followed. I didn't wanna be locked up in a room. It made me shiver at the thought. It reminded me of when my dad got really into his head and would lock me in my room, saying it was for his safety. Bash was standing outside the door when Kas and I made it to the bedroom; Kas walked in first. I reluctantly followed; he took the cuff off the bed and gently placed it around my wrist when I got closer to him.

I caught Kas looking at my legs, I knew he saw the scar, but he didn't say anything
, I
was sure that my secret was safe with him.

“Ya know, for your first day in Neverland, it went alright,” Bash said as he leaned against the door frame, arms folded across his chest.

I scoffed, “You say that like I was asked to come here,” I folded my arms, and the chain rattled, “Pan showed up and kidnapped me and chained me to a bed,” I held up my wrist.

“It could be worse,” Bash said, “Pan could have let Vane catch you.”

Kas shook his head. “We will be within shouting distance if you need us for anything,” he said, giving me one last knowing look before turning his back and walking out the door.

Bash gave me a nod and closed the door behind him.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Chapter Four

The Plan

Or Lack There Of

I looked up at the ceiling, thinking about the summer I was thirteen, almost fourteen. We lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere—well, not exactly the middle of nowhere; I don't remember where it was. But the thing I do remember is that my father would bring women home and send me to the neighbor who happened to be an escort.

That was the summer she taught me how to use my mind and my body. I loved watching her. She was so confident and comfortable in her skin. I thought about the time she was watching me, and we went out to eat a stranger's paid lunch, and all she did was flirt with him a bit. I'm sure this was normal for her, but to me, it was everything and more. She was an idol, someone I looked up to, someone I wanted to be like.

I know she was the reason I figured out how to survive, trading my body for the things I needed that my father often forgot to provide. I sighed, thinking about how Kas and Bash looked at me, the way Pan tossed me over his shoulder; I felt like a part of me wanted him to smack my ass. I trailed my hand up my thigh, sliding a finger up and down, thinking what it would be like to kiss the twins; they had beautiful full lips, soft and full. I closed my eyes, thinking about those lips trailing kisses up my thigh as I trial my finger in the direction I imagined they would go; I let out a soft gasp as I ghosted a finger across my pussy. I was making myself wet just thinking about how those strong hands would hold my legs open while the other gripped my hips, keeping me in place while he devoured me to orgasm.

I didn't have a plan, and if I did, I knew it wouldn't work, but I could have some fun while I was here. I sat up and took a deep breath. I was wet and bored, and I was honestly lonely. I wanted company, but who would I call first?

“Kas,” I called out and waited.

It didn't take too long before I heard footsteps outside my door. The hinges creaked as he pushed the wood open, and he looked concerned.

“Are you ok?” Kas asked, stepping into the room.

I nod, “Can you stay with me?” I question as I tuck my knees to my chest.

Kas nodded and closed the door behind him. He walked the few steps to the bed and sat, scooting so his back was flush to the wall. I moved next to him.

“I'm scared,” I confess. I'm terrified, really. " My voice shakes. I wasn't planning on crying, but for some reason, now that Kas is sitting next to me, I can't help the emotions.

“Hey,” Kas replies and wraps an arm around me.

I let him pull me close; the tears start to flow freely now. I couldn't stop them. Everything that had happened over the last twenty-four hours has been overwhelming. I sobbed as the reality of the situation came crashing down on me. I shook as Kas hushed me, trying to tell me everything was going to be alright.

“No, No, it's not,” I whispered, my voice thick with tears, “I'm going end up like him, cruel and crazy,” I sobbed
. This
time, I clung to Kas, pulling him to me
and
snuggling into his chest.

“Willa, you aren't going to, I promise,” Kas answered, rubbing my back, “Lay down.”

I looked at him. As much as I wanted him, it was a weird time. “Not like that,” he said, laughing. Not that I wouldn't; I wanna show you something else.”

I lay back on the bed, the frame creaking and the chain clinking as I did. Kas lay next to me, lifting his arm so I could lay my head on it. Kas told me to watch the ceiling. The moonlight was shining through the curtains, and I watched as the silver light turned blue and midnight purple with small shining dots, some twinkling
and
others moving like small comets bursting into the wall, only to reappear on the opposite wall, repeating the cycle.

“It's beautiful,” I whispered, reaching out like I could touch it.

“Willa, the mark on your leg,” Kas whispered.

“I don't wanna talk about it,” I replied a little too quickly as I turned my head to look at him.

Kas was looking at me; the look wasn't pity like I expected. It was worry, which in some way felt so much worse. I didn't want him or anyone to worry about me, I took care of myself, and sometimes it included a blade.

“Willa, please, promise me while you are here that you won't do it again?” Kas asked, his voice pleading.

“I can't,” I replied, looking away. I rolled over and sat up. You wouldn't understand. How can you do this?” I asked to change the subject.

Kas folded his arms behind his head. “I am a lot of things, but in your world, I'm a fairy,” he told me.

I laughed, “There's no such thing I don't believe in...”

I had never seen someone move so quickly. Kas covered my mouth, saying, “Don't say it. It will kill me and Bash. " His face was serious. You have to promise you will never say the words.”

With the look on his face and the seriousness of his tone, I nodded; he moved his hand from my mouth, “But if you are a fairy, then how come you don't have wings?”

Kas looks away
,
“I lost them.”
he laid
back on the bed, picking up a loose thread on the waistband of his shorts.

“
Im
sorry,” I
didnt
know what to say
, “ and
the tattoos?” I was curious about him and the more I could find out the better.

Kas
didnt looke
at me
,
“They meant something at one point but now they are just a reminder.”

I
laid
back down next to him as the images on the ceiling started to flicker and then fade away
,
I
place
a hand on his chest gently rubbing small circles to comfort him. I
wasnt
really thinking as I trailed a hand down the length of the tattoo
,
Kas
grabs
my wrist as his stomach
contracts
.

“Don't,” his voice was dark and husky.

“I wasn't,” I said; I don't know what I was doing.

“I have to go,” Kas says, scooting off the bed.

“Kas, please, I'm sorry, please,” I cried, I really didn't want to be alone, and now I fucked up the one person I thought would stay in the room with me, “I’m sorry,” I whispered again.

I flopped back on the bed making it creak and moan under the motion
,
I
tuggged
at the chain in frustration
, this
whole thing was stupid. I tugged some more bracing my feet on the wall
I
pulled harder.

“What the hell are you doing?”

“I
wanna
go
,
I don't
wanna
be here
!!
” I exclaimed not looking to see who was at the door but I was pretty sure it was Bash.

“Mina, stop,” his voice sounded distant as I focused on what I was doing.

I tugged and tugged, not caring that the chain was now digging into my hands, making them hurt; I shrugged off the hands that were touching me, tears streaming down my face as I was picked up from behind and moved my feet no longer on the wall.

“Stop, it's gonna be ok,” Bash whispered.

“No, no
its
not,” I cried
, “
And now Kas hates me,” I added between sobs.

“He
doesnt
hate you,” Bash said
brushing my
hair out of my face
,
“What did you do?”

“I didn't mean to, I...” I couldn't finish the sentence.

Bash
didnt
say anything
he
pulled me into his lap
, “Its ok
Mina
,
Kas is nicer than the rest of us,” he said
postioning
me so I was
stradding
him
, “
Now, tell me what you need,” he said cupping my face wiping the tears away with his thumb.

“I
dont wanna
be alone
, please dont
leave me all alone,” I confessed not looking at him.

Bash rubbed my cheek. I moaned slightly, rubbing my cheek against his palm. I could feel him getting hard; I couldn't help but shift a bit. He groaned and pulled my face to his, pressing our foreheads together; he kissed my cheek.

“I shouldn't do this,” Bash said and kissed the corner of my mouth. One hand settled on the back of my head while his other hand settled on my hip; he shifted, pressing his cock against my pussy.

I bit my bottom lip and shifted
, he
moaned this time and kissed my lips
,
I
couldnt
help it I kissed him back
, he
tasted like whiskey. The scent of the alcohol filled my nose as he deepened the kiss
, the
hand on the back of my head now tangled into my hair pulling the strands slightly
, it
felt good
,
I loved having my hair pulled. Bash
pulls
away and looked at me.

“We are supposed to fuck the Darlings,” Bash informs me, “But, you..” he sighs, “Fuck, you are so fucking beautiful,” he moans in his voice as his hands trail up my thighs. To the slight curve of my ass, he squeezes and repeats the motion.

“Bash, I need you,” I plead, “Please, Please,’ I begged.

I gasped as his hands pushed my dress up my thighs, and his hands found my nipples; I let out a ragged breath as he tugged and rolled the sensitive buds. His mouth found mine again. I shift my hips, trying to find some friction. Bash lifts me up, not breaking the kiss; I can hear the zipper of his shorts come undone, and I slide my panties to the side. I moan as he glides his hard cock to the entrance of my pussy and pushes it in; we moan together.

“Fuck, Mina,” Bash said, grabbing my hips and pressing me down further onto him.

I took a second to adjust to the fullness; he had to be one of the largest cocks I ever had. The sensation of being so full was beyond anything I had words for; I moved, adjusting my knees, and started to move. The scent of whiskey, the ocean, and lemon grass filled my senses. I could barely see through my blurry eyes, and the tears were still falling. I could feel his muscles flex and bend as he thrusts, meeting me. The heavy breathing between us was the only noise in the room as the party continued, barely audible over the sounds of us.

I can feel someone watching us in the darkness, and Bash could, too. He stopped moving, his dick throbbing deep inside of me as the lighter flicked the flame, illuminating his face for a second.

“Don't stop,” Pan says I can feel the smirk in his words. He moves across the room
sitting in the wing back
chair, the ember in the cigarette burning bright as he takes a drag.

Neither of us moved, unsure of what the fuck was going on; I looked over my shoulder, still watching the cigarette; he waved his hand, telling Bash to continue to fuck me; I looked at the lost boy under me,
and he
sighed.

“I said now,” Pan commanded, taking another drag of the cigarette.

Bash doesn't wait; he lifts me and thrusts up at the same time, picking up the pace—I breathe heavily as he moans.

“Fuck, fuck,” Bash moans as I meet his thrust.

I was throbbing as I adjusted my hips, trying to find friction for my clit; Im was so fucking close I needed more, just a few more thrusts, and I would have been joining Bash as he released cum deep inside of me. I'm sweating; the warm air isn't helping as I wrap myself around Bash.

I yelp as Im lifted into the air like a ragdoll cum, and my own wetness makes a mess in my panties as Pan holds me to his chest, telling Bash to go.

“If you are
tryin g
to teach me
somthIng, I dont
think it worked,” Bash said tucking himself back into his shorts.

“Get out,” Pan repeats, still holding me to him.

The second Bash left the room, and he tossed me into the chair he was occupying. He rubs his face and points the finger at me, the moonlight glinting off the silver ring, “I don't know what you think you are doing, but stop,” he moves closer, “You have no clue what you are doing,”

“I
wasnt
...” I stuttered
, “
It
wasnt
on purpose
, please dont
be mad at Bash.”

I squeeze my thighs together, still horny from Bash, and turned on even more by Pan lifting me like I was nothing more than a feather; I swallow as I watch Pan he's staring at me. I take a breath and lean back in the chair, fuck it. I slid the hem of my dress up my thighs and slipped my pants off; I didn't need those anymore. I slip a finger feeling the wetness making me moan, fuck I was so horny. Pan's eyes shifted from my face to between my legs in the moonlight. His white eyes were silver and hooded with lust.

I have never pleasured myself in front of anyone, but he was different; they all were, even Vane, who I still wasn't too sure about. I lick my lips and bite the bottom one, dragging it between my teeth, arching my back as I circle my clit slowly. I watch as Pan's breathing changes. He steps closer to me; that is what I want
.
I slow down more, trying to keep my eyes open. I shudder as Pan reaches out and slides his hand up my thigh. I smirked at him; this was incredible. His hands were soft and rough against my skin
, I
spread my legs wider, scooting down and letting him take in all of me.

“Go on, Darling,” he says as he slips two of his thick fingers inside of me.

I clench my pussy as he pumps them in and out; I start circling my clit again, picking up the pace, his finger so deep inside of me curling just right in time with me, it doesn't take too long for me to cry out; he holds my legs open working me through my orgasm. He smiles as he pulls his fingers from me so slowly he brings his fingers to my mouth.

“Clean them,” he says, holding his hand inches from me.

I open my mouth, darting my tongue out, licking the sweet juices and tart cum from his hand. Fuck, this was turning me on now
too
; what the hell was wrong with me. I moan as I take his fingers deeper into my mouth, wishing it was his cock instead.

“Mmm, you are going to be trouble,” Pan growls letting me continue, “I have a rule,” he continues pulling his hand away, ”We aren't supposed to fuck the Darlings.”

I look at him as he turns and walks out the door, closing it behind him. I smile at the door; well, I guess I got under his skin. Maybe now he will know what it feels like, and even if he doesn't, I think I might make this a game, fuck the twins because why not and maybe, just maybe, I can get Pan too, hell maybe Vane depending; I think there is more too him then he lets anyone know. I sighed contently as I stood; for the first time, I was relaxed. I climbed into the bed, allowing the well-worn mattress to engulf me as I drifted off to sleep.

The sun was bright when I woke up, high in the sky. The sound of the waves crashing outside was lovely. It was almost like a dream vacation, except I was chained to the bed and kidnapped, like I said, nearly a dream vacation. I sat up and rubbed my face, my bladder screaming at me, I carefully made my way off the bed, happy to see my foot had no pain. I walked to the bathroom, headed back out, and grabbed the discarded panties off the floor; I should wash these if I'm going to be here a while.

“Good morning!” Cherry's bright voice called out, making me jump.

“Geez,” I yelled from the bathroom
, “you
scared me,” I said walking out of the bathroom
, “
What happened to you?” I questioned walking over to Cherry as she set a tray on the bed.

“it's nothing, I fell,” Cherry replied, “I made you coffee and breakfast.”

“Out of the tree,” I asked.

She was covered in scratches and bruises
,
she looked more like she
was
beaten and dragged across the sand. Cherry changed the subject pointed to the tray. She had made coffee
,
toast, and there was a bowl of fruit. That was sweet of her
, maybe
she could be a friend.
I could use a friend around here.

“I wasn't sure what you put in your coffee,” Cherry sat carefully on the bed.

“Cream is fine,” I replied as I joined her on the bed.

I watched as she took the lid off the jar and poured in the white liquid
,
I told her when to stop making sure the coffee was the color I
like
it. She pointed to the bowl of fruit telling me to eat and how Cherry had picked the berries that morning.

“The bush never produces much, so these are like gold,” Cherry said, looking around before her eyes settled back on me.

“
the
chain clinked as I reached for a berry
,
Cherry frowned
,
“Not a fan?” I asked raising it up.

She giggles,
it as
high like bells at Christmas
,
“You are really pretty,” Cherry tells me.

“I know, but so are you,” I replied and swallowed the fruit.

Cherry made a face and shook her head, “Not really,” she looked away.

“Your hair, those freckles, come on,” I replied, taking a sip of the coffee.

Everything was so much more intense here. The nutty and chocolate notes of the coffee were some of the best I had ever had; I looked at Cherry as I lowered my cup. The poor girl she was like me in a way lonely a need for attention no matter how she got it, I could give her the attention she needed that she clearly craved.

“Who do you like the most?” I asked, picking up the toast and taking a small bite.

“Of the boys?”
Cherry asks,
she seems suprised
by the question. She
seemed to be
more ignored than I thought.

I nod and
tak
another sip of
the
coffee. Cherry looks down at the bed
picking at a lose
thread before tucking her hair behind her ear
, ‘well
,
”
she starts and looks up at me
, “Its
Vane
.”

“Really?” I ask, taking another berry and popping it into my mouth.

‘There's something about him,” Cherry says
,
fonding.

“you mean psycho?” I ask, not missing the look that slides across her face.

“No, you don't understand it, his shadow,”

I cut her off asking about the Shadow
, she looks
at the door like she was checking to see if anyone was listening. Cherry leaned in close, I followed her actions
, she
was really pretty, her lips soft and pink, her skin pale with freckles covering almost every
exsposed
surface.
I bet she was a good kisser.

“Mina, I'm not supposed to say anything,” Cherry whispers.

“I
wont
tell, I promise,” I
tell
her and it was the truth I was about to tell anyone anything we
talk
about.

Cherry looks at the door again
, “Ok
there are more islands than Neverland. Seven with seven kings. Every
isiand has to
shadows,” she whispers leaning closer.

I set my cup on the tray, lifting the whole thing to place it on the bedside table, scooting closer to Cherry to hear the rest of what she had to tell me.

“One is life and one is death
, the
king always claims a shadow,” Cherry continues
, “its
in his blood to be able to claim one
,” she
spoke faster
, “
Pan picked life a long time ago
way before I
I was born. When Pan lost his shadow, he lost power and now,” she checks the door again, “now the island is sufffering for it and he might be dying too
,
I
dont
know.”

Now everything was falling into place
, he
thinks a Darling stole his Shadow
. Thats
why he had been taking us. I
dont
know how he expects me to find it when I
didnt
even know it was possible for a person to
loose
a shadow.

“What about the death shadow for this island?”

Cherry shrugged, “No one has seen it for a long time. No one seems to want to find it either
,
they are nasty business
,” she finishs looking
off into the distance like she was remembering something
but I didnt
pry.

“Kas said he and Bash are Fae but lost their wings?”

She nods and scoots closer to me
fingers
touching. Cherry's fingers were soft, “They killed their father,” she replied, her voice low.

I slid my hand closer to hers, “Oh my god,” I whispered, covering my mouth.

“They were banished from the fae court; that's why they are here with Pan and the other lost boys,” she finished her pinking rubbing against mine.

She
wasn't only
desperate for attention
but for
physical touch
as well,
I was sure they guys were probably
a jerk
to her. I
take
her hand and smiled at her
,
“What about you?” I
ask lacing our finger
together.

“
Im
human
,
I come from Hooks territory,” Cherry replies looking at our laced fingers but
doesnt move
her hand.

I scoot closer to her and bring her hand to my lap, I don't know what it is about this place that was making me so damn horny, but that was going to have to wait as I coax more information out of Cherry. I asked who Hook was and learned he was a pirate who hated Pan and wanted to take over Neverland. I was curious if he had a shot, Cherry shrugging, not taking her eyes off our hands.

“Have you ever crossed worlds” I asked, caressing her arm
rubbing it to tey
and make her feel better.

She shakes her head, “No, I haven't, and I don't know how.”

: I frown, “I guess I'm going to be chained to this bed forever.”

“
Ill
talk to the twins,” Cherry replied taking my other hand in hers
,
“Bring
you down to the bonfire get you out of the house for awhile,” she
smiles
lacing our fingers together.

I
nod
, thinking about sitting by the fire meeting the others who lived in the house.
I
would be nice to be outside. I was lost in my thoughts
thinking about when
the last time I was at a bonfire I blew half the football team and a few of their friends.

“I'll ask Bash; he's more likely to say yes,” Cherry said, shifting so her back was to the wall, not letting go of my hands.

“Sounds like a good idea
,” I didnt sya anythng
about what I had done the night before
, ‘
Can I ask, did Vane do that to you?” I let go of her hand and brushed
a humb
over her cheek
where a fe
of the scratches were.

“
Its not hat
you think
,
it just comes
itht he
territory,” Cherry replies turning her head and rubbing her cheek against my palm
, “he
has a shadow from a different island.”

She didn't need to tell me what Shadow it was, Death.
