Work Text

You stand in front of the mirror as you finish getting yourself ready for your orientation, readjusting your shirt and fixing your hair a bit. A heavy sigh releases from within your chest as endless thoughts of what your life will look like now swirl in your mind. Ignoring your growing anxiety, you try to stay positive about your new job. Pulling out your phone, you double check you have the correct location. It’s a bit of a drive, but the pay is going to be worth it.Satisfied with your appearance, you walk into the kitchen to grab your keys and wallet. One of the kitchen lights were burnt out, and the other two were slightly dim.. You make a mental note to replace them when you have time, but for now, a dim kitchen is what you have to work with. The table was littered with leftover fast food bags, and your stack of bills seemed to stare at you mockingly. A small shudder runs down your spine and your eyebrows furrow at the sight. You turn away in one swift motion, grabbing your belongings and moving swiftly out the door. The heat from the impending summer hits your face, causing you to squint at the sudden change in temperature. You walk to your car quickly, desperate for the relief of blasting the A/C. Inputting the address into your GPS, you see that Fazbear Pizza is almost 30 minutes away, and you have to be there by 2 o’clock for your first day.”I don’t even have anything to be worried about, it's just an orientation. They’ll probably just walk me around and tell me random facts about the place or something.” You don’t sound very convincing, even to yourself. After all, you’ll be working for a huge company that you don’t know anything about, except the fact that it has had a shit ton of controversy. Surely this would be a simple job to help cover your rent and other necessary bills… right?Unfortunately, you needed this job just to live in this damn economy.“Passing up 28 an hour isn’t exactly an option right now..” A low groan escapes your chest as the weight of everything that needs to be paid for presses heavily on your mind.“Besides, maybe being a party host, I can learn what people are looking for when it comes to their celebrations. I'll just look at this as an opportunity to become a better decorator!” A smile grows on your face, finally replacing that almost permanent stress frown, as the heaviness in your chest fizzles away. A way to make people feel special and seen on their day, that’s your goal. It’s not that you don’t love your other full-time job, it just simply isn’t covering the bills anymore. But trying to open your own cake business isn’t exactly a walk in the park either, especially since you're doing it alone. “Cake decorator by early morning, party host by afternoon. Welp there goes my hope of sleep! It’s not like I was getting regular sleep anyways.”The thoughts spinning in your head are soon interrupted by your GPS.“You have arrived at your destination.”You realize that a 30 minute trip can go by pretty fast when you’re preoccupied with things other than the roads.’Freddy Fazbear Pizza and Entertainment!’ Announced the gigantic sign, which had 80’s themed colors and its star animatronics placed directly above it. You recognize them as Montgomery Gator, Roxanne Wolf, Chica Chicken and Freddy Fazbear himself. The building was so big it honestly looked more like a mall, and you imagined they could fit mini roller coasters inside. Shutting the car door with a quick press of the key to lock it, you make your way towards the front of the massive building. As you enter the building, you’re hit with a wave of cool air carrying the scent of pizza and equipment cleaner, followed by the echoing sound of arcade games, children’s laughter, and Fazbear’s very own music. It’s almost like stepping into the 80’s, but with a modern twist. You can’t help the small smile creeping onto your face as the nostalgia of a children’s arcade surrounds you. A staff bot is standing at an entrance podium, unmoving and silent, as if waiting for something to interact with it. You walk towards it, causing it to suddenly go into a preprogrammed rant.”Welcome to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and Entertainment! How can I help you today?” Its robotic voice and unwavering eyes glue into yours, waiting for an answer.“Hi uh, I’m here for orientation? I got an email abou-“ Its voice abruptly cuts into your sentence.“Wait one moment as we find someone who can assist you.” You blink a few times in shock and nod your head before saying a quick “okay thanks.”After a couple minutes of standing there awkwardly, you decide to take a seat on one of the benches so you won’t be in the way if anyone comes inside. You aren’t entirely sure how it would find someone to assist you, seeing as it didn’t move, but it was a robot; maybe it was sending some weird message through its programming or something. And you must’ve been right, because a few minutes later another staff bot decorated with Freddy Fazbear ears, glasses, and a name tag that said “New Hire Bot” approaches you.It speaks in a monotone- almost masculine- voice, shoving something into your hands before you can get a word in. “New Hire. Your welcome package, uniform and.. name tag.” There was a brief pause between uniform and name tag, like its programming buffered for a moment.Soon after the items were shoved into your arms the staff bot turns 180 degrees and begins rolling into the pizza plex. You quickly follow it as it begins to go over some of the basic history of the company, conveniently leaving out its major controversies of course. What else did you expect? They were trying to hire you, not scare you away with its messy history. Though you weren’t really familiar with what that history was, you just knew it was there. ‘Sometimes ignorance is bliss…’ you thought to yourself as the robot’s voice became background noise. You were joking with yourself before, but you really could fit mini roller coasters in here; this place was massive! ‘How am I supposed to find my way around here?! I feel like this place needs its own GPS system!’The anxiety was building within you once again as the space was growing more overwhelming by the second. However, those thoughts stop right in their tracks because you ran right into a wall of metal, the staff bot. “Oh shit I’m sorry I-“You were cut off again by the staffbot, like it was annoyed by your response. “That is not proper Fazbear Language.”Then another voice, soft robotic laughter came from in front of the staff bot. “Oh dear, are you alright? My apologies, I did not see you there.”
There he is, Fazbear’s pride and joy, Freddy Fucking Fazbear himself.
He stood in front of you and the staffbot, with a warm patient smile. He gives off such a genuine warmth that it almost makes you forget that he’s a robot. “Oh, no no it's okay I should be the one who’s sorry I wasn’t paying attention.” You give a shy, awkward smile as Freddy dismisses your apology.“No need for the apology Super Star! Are you our new party host?” Giving him a small nod his smile brightens at you.“That is wonderful to hear! I’m sure you will do a fantastic job!”Heat flushes your cheeks, and your smile brightens. “Thanks! I’m excited to get started.”Freddy nods in approval and gives you a quick gentle pat on the shoulder. “I need to get to my rehearsal now, but we can talk a bit more! Enjoy the rest of your tour Super Star and have a Faztastic day!” He gives his signature smile and wave before walking off to meet with the rest of his band.
Geez you can really feel that branding showing through.
Despite the silly pun it did make you smile, and his presence managed to lift a weight off of your chest. Can’t deny that it works either, no wonder he’s the face of the brand.Even though the moment of peace was nice, it was still only a moment, and now the staffbot was practically shoving you into the nearby office. It was a standard desk space with a singular double sided window looking into the arcade. It almost feels like a closet as you take a seat in the small metal chair, the faux leather cushion torn in the center. The staffbot hands you a comically large stack of papers as it repeats: “Please sign here.” And doesn’t stop saying it until all the papers are signed. Feeling the pressure from its words you quickly sign all of the legal documents and contracts.‘Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for any bodily injuries on the job. Tampering with any Fazbear Entertainment Animatronics will result in immediate disciplinary action up to and including: termination of your contract, and legal consequences. .’ It just keeps going on and on, and the papers never seem to end. After a few grueling minutes of this paper signing hell you finally manage to sign all of what was given to you, including a Non-Disclosure Agreement.Once the staffbot finally stops speaking you realize that you may want a copy of all of these so you can read them more in depth later. “Is there any way I could possibly get a copy of all the papers?”The staffbot with your signed papers in hand keeps its blank stare as it speaks. “A meeting with upper management about further details must be scheduled.” Then it swiftly rolls out of the office, probably to go file your papers somewhere.‘Great, a silent fuck you.’ With a soft sigh the staff takes your papers and shoves them into a file as it rolls to the door to exit. You follow close behind, making your way towards the food court.Neon lights stretch from wall to wall and artwork of the cast covers the place. Themed restaurants and tables decorate the cold tile floors and the space is filled with hungry parents and children. On the other side of the room there was a small birthday party being hosted by one of the staff bots and by the look of it, it was not going well. It was anything but a happy experience as the birthday boy was sobbing uncontrollably, and parents were delivering some words that are definitely not Fazbear approved. It was anything but a happy experience for the attendants, but the staffbot gave no reaction, staring unwaveringly through the parent.“Yeesh..” You mumbled, unable to look away from the painful scene. Glancing at the staffbot you decide that helping the situation wouldn't hurt, it might even be good practice for you. Leaving the tour bot behind, you approach the troubled family.“How the fuck do you misplace a cake?! Honestly, is this company good for nothing but taking my money?” The fathers words echo throughout the large room as you get closer.“Hey, I noticed something was wrong. Could you please explain the situation to me?” You gave the angry father a concerned look as you naturally began to switch into a customer service like voice. The man’s eyes look at you with an instant relief as he begins explaining the situation. “Oh so this place finally got some damn human staff? Took them long enough, these stupid metal canisters never do anything right.”Your eyes squint slightly in reaction to his words but you knew how to hide your body language well.“They lost my son’s cake, I gave it to the robot and it told me it would place it in the back of the kitchen somewhere and now it's just gone.”Nodding your head in understanding his frustration, you quickly offer a solution. “If you’d like I could take a look back there for you? I would be no trouble at all.”His anger noticeably cooled down as he nodded his head in agreement. “Please, we really can't have anything else going wrong with this party.”You give a reassuring smile and make your way through one of the kitchen backroom doors, starting your search in the ‘Staff Bot Sweet Center’. Walking inside immediately reminded you of the bakery you work at in the morning as the smell of fresh baked cookies fills the air. It wasn't on any of the countertops so you start looking in the industrial size fridges.“No…. No… No. Definitely not that one- wait..” You slide some pastries out of the way to get to the back of the fridge.Grabbing a hold of a two layer foxy themed cake, with what looked to be buttercream icing. The borders itself were relatively simple with the shell piping tip and the writing was nice, saying “Happy 4th Birthday Evan!!” . The background was a slightly yellowed edible image of Foxy on his pirate ship. The icing colors chosen did match the image nicely, though the longer you look at it the more you are changing little details about it in your head on how you would decorate the cake. You turn your focus back to the task at hand, and bring the cake back to the family. The father is the first to notice you as the stress and anger immediately melted away into relief and gratitude. “Oh thank you, thank you so much!!”You smile widely, feeling pride in yourself that you were able to help them, reassuring that it wasn't a problem.“The next time we come back I’ll be sure to ask for you, you're the only competent person around here.” After a few more moments of gratitude you leave the family and start to look for the staffbot that was giving your tour, except for the fact that it was nowhere to be seen. You walk around curiously, looking for wherever this staffbot had gone. 20, or 30 minutes go by and there was still no no sign of where the bot disappeared to. The pit in your stomach churns slowly and you groan in frustration.“Fuck! Now what am I going to do..?” Biting your lower lip, you wonder if it’s worth continuing your search or if you should just stop for a moment and get something to eat since you’re still close by the foot court.Your stomach rumbles in low agreement and you walk back towards the colorful food court. You’ll worry about finding the bot later, right now would be a great opportunity to use those new employee perks you got.Once reentering the food court, you begin to look around at the options available to you. You managed to remember some of the benefits you read in your contract, despite rushing through the mountain of paperwork given to you, and recall the complimentary meal, under a certain budget of course, otherwise it would be coming directly out of your check. There was also the fact that if anything were to happen to said meal, like it getting dropped or contaminated, you weren’t entitled to a new one. Or, if you didn’t use it that day, they didn’t carry over. Y’know, just the regular corporate bullshit, anything to save them their pennies. You decide to go for something fast and simple, walking into the pizza line that was Chica themed. You grab your mega slice of choice, a bag of chips, and a soda- just barely staying under the complimentary budget. You shouldn’t be surprised anymore at how expensive things are, but it still seems to shock you. Swiping your new employee card on the self-serving transaction, you make your way back into the dining area to find an empty seat, which wasn't too hard considering the size of the food court. Setting your tray down on the slightly sticky table, you dig in.The anxiety of today now settles as you finally get some food in your system. You barely ate anything this morning and now you were devouring your tray like a starved animal.Gulping down your soda and shoveling chips into your mouth you take this moment as an opportunity to really look at the place. Everything was intricately detailed, from the themes of the restaurant, the tables, to how they sectioned each part of the building. You noticed when you were walking around with the staffbot earlier, It seemed that each section you went to had different themed music, and you swear it had its own smells too. This place was ridiculous in size for being a family friendly pizza plex, that’s for sure. This was a good opportunity to re-ground yourself. Taking a few deep breaths, your eyes find objects, sounds and smells to focus on. You begin to feel yourself relax, your gaze now landing on a particular poster with a pair of animatronics you don’t recognize. Titling your head slightly your eyes squint trying to get a better view. Still too far to see it clearly, you stand up to throw away your trash and walk towards the poster, examining it closer.“Join us in the Super Star Theater for unforgettable performances by Sundrop and Moondrop! Show times every day starting at 1pm!’ The image showed a Sun and Moon animatronic holding hands while also gripping onto some sort of rope or cord. It looked like they were suspended in the air with large smiles, the sun noticeably having sharp canine fangs. The Sun’s and Moon’s faceplates were split, each with a darker and lighter side. They look like a pair of jesters, their designs complementary to each other. The Sun had a dark color scheme of blacks, yellows, purples and reds with sharp canine like teeth. His head was lined with seven alternating Black and yellow, almost flower-like, sun rays. The three black rays were oriented slightly behind the four yellow rays, and each had a golden charm of a crescent moon. The four yellow rays each had a golden charm of a star.. There were a few small pointed rays at the edges of the yellow petal-rays. It almost seems like he was wearing makeup in the poster, his eyes had purple and orange eyeshadow with blush to match the colors on his faceplate. Sun's outfit was a black sleeveless tailcoat, with a large red bow wrapping around the back of his waist, and red ribbons on his wrists that had little white bells hanging on the side. The ribbons and bow itself were lined with bright gold, and the one around his waist had a white lace trim. The base color of his metal was half sundried tomato on his right side and yellow on his left. His arms were golden-yellow that faded into the sun dried color, and the ends of his claw-like fingers were black. The final notable detail was his bright vermillion orange eyes. The Moon was more pastel in color, with light blues, greys and highlights of gold. His face was also split like the sun's faceplate. A blue side on his right and grey on his left. He had more of a familiar jester style hat that was split colored as well, a darker blue for his right side and a light blue for the left with golden embroidered star details. At the end of each side of his hat were two different star cotton balls. The one on the dark blue side was diamond in shape and the other was a typical star. He also had eyeshadow and blush, complimenting his color scheme with a dark periwinkle. His neck was adorned with a ruffled collar that had a dark blue outside and light blue underside with golden lining and a golden star emblem in the middle of it. The moon's eyes had also been split in color, His right eye was black with a white pupil, while the left was white with a black pupil. His sleeves were noticeably longer, almost princess-like with that same dark blue color and golden swirls embroidered on the edge of the seams. His dark blue pants had those same stars embroidered on them and around his waist was a see through periwinkle sash that opened up in front of him. His design was very elegant and soft, much different than his Sun counterpart. The corners of the posters are curling from the wall with slight tearing at its edges. “This must’ve been something a staffbot forgot to take down.. I’ve never heard of a Sundrop and Moondrop..”You find the idea of the twin jesters interesting, wondering what sort of shows they would perform, and what a Sun and Moon themed party could’ve been like, but decide to disregard the thought.Moving away from the posters you leave the food court and start to look for the staff bot that was showing you around. However, finding one staffbot out of the hundreds that were there was going to be… difficult, to say the least.Unfortunately, you were still completely unfamiliar with the layout of this building and your feet were starting to hurt from all of the walking. Just as you’re about to give up, you feel a surge of relief when you round a corner and spot a white animatronic chicken, well known as Chica. You quickly straightened your posture and brushed some of the hair out of your face, wanting to make a good impression as she approached you with a grin. “Hey! You’re the new party host right? Freddy mentioned seeing you earlier before our rehearsal!”Damn, Freddy Fazbear actually remembered you and talked about you with the other animatronics.“It’ll be fun working together! Those stuffy staffbots are always so boring handling the parties, but when we learned that they were hiring a human expert we were excited to finally meet you!”You smiled, face flushing from the flattery. “Human expert huh?” She gives an enthusiastic nod as the heat in your cheeks grows hotter.“W-Well i'm just as excited to be here! I was uh, actually looking for the area I needed to be in? Like for scheduling the parties and such. The staff bot was supposed to show me but something came up and it just kinda.. rolled away without me.”Chica shook her head in disappointment, like this was something she had heard before. “Those staffbots, good at so many things but they really lack any customer service. Alright, that settles it! I’ll be your guide for the rest of your orientation!” She clasped her hands together and gave you a large smile.Returning a smile to her you express your gratitude as you both begin walking together.“So, what’s really cool about Fazbear Parties is the many varieties of options we have! Each animatronic has their very own theme and designated games! For instance, Freddy’s themed party is going to be hosted by Fazerblast because that package comes with a 30 minute complimentary game valid for up to 10 guests! (Any additional guest will be a $10 charge per person.)”You couldn’t help the smile growing on your face while Chica was explaining the details, she sounds like one of those medical commercials you would hear on tv when they started explaining its side effects.“Each party has complimentary pizza, your choice of 2 Pitchers of Fizzy Drinks, Glamrock themed decorations, the party room for 2 hours, a picture with the glamrock, a signed birthday card with the glam rock, and a special performance by the glam rock!”You were almost shocked by Chicas knowledge but I guess it did make sense if she knew the details of what was going on, she was an option for parents and children to choose from.“Each of us has different games and activities though, like mine is Cookie decorating! Roxy has Roxy Raceway and Monty has Gator golf.”As she was explaining the different activities provided for each animatronic she eventually made her way to a dusty and cluttered office space properly named Party Help Desk, somewhere you would be spending a majority of your time, specially located on the 2nd floor.“So my job is to basically schedule the parties and make sure they run smoothly?” You say, and she gives you a nod and thumbs up.“Yup! I knew you were an expert!”Your smile widened a bit as the heat returned to your cheeks, taking a look at the dusty space. The longer you look at it the more your smile fades, and Chica quickly notices.. “Do you have any questions? You seem a bit worried.”Snapping out of your thoughts you look at her and fix your face laughing softly from the nerves. “Yeah! I’m okay, just a little overwhelmed, this place is huge and I'm hoping I don’t forget anything.”Chica’s face seemed to soften, strange for a robot, and she gently placed a hand on your shoulder. “Don’t worry, you won't be alone and we'll make sure things go smoothly together.”Your mask to hide your stress falters slightly as a soft smile slowly replaces it and you give her a nod in response.”So! When do you start working?”Your smile immediately disappears once again. “Oh uh, well… the staffbot was supposed to give me my schedule but I kinda lost it, the staffbot.”A ping of guilt flashes on her face for a moment though it was quickly replaced by her bright smile.“Well that’s okay! Fazbear Entertainment has its own app specially designed for looking at your schedule and a way for you to clock in and out, as well as putting in requests!”You giggle at her response and pull out your phone to look at it. “Good to know, I'll download it.”Excited, Chica gives you the instructions for how to access it, and its access code.“Well, I’m starving so I'm going to run off now, but I can't wait to see you again!” She waved off before leaving you there, seemingly heading back towards where the food court was.Watching her leave you can’t help the confusion in your face as to how she would be hungry.“Maybe… it's a Fazbear thing?” You mumble to yourself before looking back down at your phone.“7:23pm. Damn, I can't believe it's already been that long.” You thought to yourself looking back up at the office you would be spending a lot of your time at. Taking in one last deep breath you smile, downloading the app and setting it up as you make your way towards the exit of the pizzaplex.“What a strange first day..” You thought as you passed by the many entrances to different locations and storage rooms.Making your way back to the front took you a good 20 minutes, seeing that the sun had gone down and the moon was beginning to rise.

You exit the pizzaplex, the soft warmth of the summer evening caressing your face as you walk back to your car, and make your way back home.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

You were thankful that Chica told you about the app for your schedule. It was simple to navigate and had everything you needed to know all in one place. Fazbear Entertainment did always pride itself on its innovative technology, that you knew for a fact. By the looks of it, your schedule was set for 2 weeks in advance, which is helpful for you to plan around and manage. “Mondays. 2-8pm, Tuesdays 4-9pm, Fridays and Saturdays 2-10pm. For the next two weeks, it should be simple enough.” You say, your finger pressing the power button on your phone. Your hand wipes the condensation from the mirror staring at yourself for a while, before exiting the bathroom.  A cloud of dense fog escaped into the kitchen as you were greeted with a wave of the cool air. Your skin immediately ripples into goosebumps as you begin vigorously drying your hair in the damp towel. Getting a shower is usually a good de-stressor for you, seeing as it always manages to wash away some of your anxiety.

The growing mountain of plates and cups sat on the edge of the counter next to the sink, still unmoving from the night you put them there, and your stomach turned into brewing shame.  “I really need to do those when I get back..” You mutter as your gaze shifts away from the sight. Frustration sinks in your chest as you glance around the apartment, which reminds you of the party desk space you now had. If you want to get anything done and set yourself up for success with hosting, you need a clean and organized space. So the apartment had to wait another day; nothing you haven’t repeated to yourself for the past week.“I work two to eight today so I’ll have six hours to get the space clean and hopefully organized. I'd like to see Chica or Freddy again, they were really nice.” A smile crosses your lips as the pleasant memory of interacting with them fades into your mind. When you initially applied, you weren’t sure if this was something that was going to be fulfilling but you haven’t been dreading things so far! Everything was heading in a good direction. Grabbing your keys and exiting the suffocating space you call home, you head to your car and make the lengthy drive to Freddy’s once more.~~~Arriving just shy of 1:57, your pace quickens as you hurriedly make your way inside to ensure you would not be clocking in late. Your fingers fumble as you attempt to open the door, looking down at your phone to open your FazApp simultaneously while nearly running into the glass itself. Thanks to your scrambling you manage to clock in just before 2 o’clock heaving a sigh of relief. Some nearby parents give you a funny look, and you return an awkward wave before walking away. You don’t have time to think about your ridiculous entrance as the warm nostalgic feeling settles within you again, the air and sounds engulfing you. Coins clink in the distance as retro arcade music dances alongside the laughter of children’s voices. It's all brought together by the smell of pizza and Freddy’s hit song. If this place was around when you were younger, you would’ve loved to have a party here. Your feet follow the black and neon path, vaguely towards the area you think you’re supposed to go in. You did remember that it was on the second floor, but weren’t exactly sure which direction from there.  Finding a flight of stairs was simple enough seeing as there were many to choose from, and you make your way to the top. The layout was practically identical to the bottom floor, your feet finding that black carpet once more. The only difference that you immediately notice is Monty and Chica taking some photos with a small group of kids. A warmth fills you seeing Chica once again as you watch the interaction from afar.Monty is striking a pose to show off his muscles while his teeth are bared into a large toothy grin next to a little girl. With messy pigtails in complete disarray and pizza grease glistening on the corners of her mouth. She is striking the same pose as him and her gleeful mother is taking the photo. Chica has a pair of fraternal twins at her sides, the girl's blonde hair is covering her face as she timidly holds onto Chica's hand. Her more extroverted brother is adorning a Freddy t-shirt and a birthday hat, smiling brightly and eagerly waiting for their father to finish taking their photo.Chica gives the children and the parents a warm and enthusiastic goodbye while they leave, and Monty eyes you curiously as his arms cross over his chest.

“Yer new.” The gator's words were simple, and his voice was slightly gruff and robotic. He focuses on you as a swirling storm of uncertainty rolls deep within your stomach. “Oh yeah, they’re the new party host I was telling you guys about last week! They hired a human expert to help with the parties now!” Her chipper voice hums as she walks towards you, giving you a playful wink. “It's good to see you again, friend. Is today your first official day?”You nod and the discomfort from Monty’s stare is soothed away in her presence. “Yeah, I'm actually looking for the party desk again.”Chicas hand meets yours holding it between her much larger metal fingers. “Well you're headed in the right direction, just keep going that way until you pass by Arcade 23, they’re labeled right by their entryway frames, and then you’re going to take a left past the family bathroom and it’ll be right there! Can’t miss it.” As her hand leaves yours, you notice she leaves a small passkey for you.Your brows furrow slightly as you look down at the passkey then back up to her. She gives you a large smile and another wink, this one much more mischievous. “That’s for the door to your office and it also has access to your party supplies in storage room D7.”Monty’s eyes narrow noticeably as a mixture of emotions cross his face, his gaze now looking at Chica. His arms are still crossed, but it seems more tense. Before you or Monty could speak Chica pipes up once more.”You might need to make a list and order more supplies, those staff bots are not the best at organizing so there’s going to be a lot of things missing, old, ruined or discontinued. After you do that, I suggest ordering your supplies on one of the staff computers.” Her arms move behind her back, her large warm smile never wavering as Monty looks away from her. “Thanks Chica, you’ve been such a big help. What would I do without you?” Her metal hands reach up to her cheek in flattery and she giggles sweetly. ”Aren’t you sweeter than apple pie?” Monty’s eyes roll and he huffs in slight annoyance. “We’re gonna be late if we don’t meet up with the rest, and you know how Roxy feels ‘bout us being late to things.” Chica’s smile, while still there, scrunches in uncomfortable remembrance walking back over to Monty. Your goodbyes are enthusiastic but brief, as the two of them walk off together. You look back down at the passkey once more, rubbing the glossy surface between your fingertips and start walking in the direction Chica told you your office was in.Following her instructions leads you right back to the office. The desk is closed off with a metal gate. Dust lightly lingers in the air of this corner of the pizzaplex as you walk over to the door, pressing the passkey up to its scanner. A soft click sounds, and you feel the door unlock.Stepping inside you're met with a deep sense of dread filling your stomach. Papers, bags, hats, there were supplies and order forms everywhere . “Geez what the hell did these staffbots do?! How do you find anything in this mess?!” You nearly trip on a box attempting to walk into the space, or lack thereof, and switch the light on. All of the lights don’t fully turn as most are burnt out, and the ones that did work flickered. A gnawing sense of regret eats at you when the room becomes illuminated because it looks much worse now. A heavy sigh escapes your chest as you assess the situation. Most of the items on the floor like tableware had been soiled by dirt or old drink stains so that they could immediately go into a trash bag. Walking a bit closer to the desk your eyes spot a ripped open bag of what looked to be Roxy balloons. You pick one up curiously and feel the thin latex between your fingers. “ This is ruined too.. damn. ” Your gaze moves towards the other side of the desk seeing a small trash can on the floor, overflowing with crumpled papers. Next to it was a box of trash bags, thank god .You spent the next two and a half hours just deeping cleaning the office, saving old papers that might be useful and trashing everything else. Most of the party supplies needed to be replaced due to the amount of damage it all had so a list would be helpful. Luckily there was an order guide by the computer. However, when you are elbow deep in cleaning, you attempt to turn on the computer. It sparked and shocked your fingers, whining at its attempt to turn on, before you promptly powered it back off. “ Computer is going to need to be replaced too..” A groan leaves your chest over the amount of things that were not prepared for you. On the bright side, since you had to throw almost everything away, there was now a floor to walk on and much more space on the shelves. Yay.Your new desk was now barren, only having the few papers you saved, some minimal party supplies that were salvageable and the passkey Chica gave to you.”Chica mentioned there was a storage room with even more supplies.” The knots within you twist and you dread the idea of having to clean out another space. You could only assume it might be worse than the one you just spent hours cleaning. Reluctantly you go over to the desk picking up your passkey as you fixate on the engraving that states D7. “Whelp.. time to assess the damage.” You hope it wasn’t going to be a literal statement as you leave the office. Sitting outside of it, seven to eight trash bags were filled with the junk you tossed. Staffbots were beginning to roll towards you, picking up the trash bags and carrying them off to throw them all away for you. You feel yourself smile, thankful and relieved you didn't have to deal with that. You eventually find the storage room Chica mentioned, and you look at the number that shone on the passkey once more just to double check. “D7. Please tell me it won't be as bad as the office..” You reach up, scanning the passkey and hearing the door click, as it unlocks. Stepping inside, this room wasn’t as dark as your office. A few flickering lights shine but it has quite a few boxes blocking your view of the back of the room. Dreading the idea that each of these boxes consisted of more party supplies you begin your search, opening them and checking inside. You aren’t sure how long you’ve been looking in here, finding the occasional stray box of old party supplies. To your surprise, the few boxes you open are mostly miscellaneous items, ranging from bathroom supplies to spare robotic parts to who knows what. Your eyes catch something that you didn't expect to see, as you almost drop the items in your hands. A powered down animatronic, with a Moon like face.Curiosity swirls inside you as you slowly approach the animatronic that was lying chest down. Your eyes squint at the floor by its claw, unsure if you’re looking at an old stain or something else. It’s too dark to tell with the flickering lights. Gently turning its face towards the struggling light you get a better look at it, knowing it was the same animatronic you saw in the poster during orientation. “That’s strange.. what on earth are you doing here..?” Your hands gently cups his face plate and your fingers brush against a cord connected on the back. Turning his head, your eyes follow the cord to a larger machine tucked away in the back. You place it back down on the ground as your body moves on its own, following the cord to what looks to be a large charging station, unplugged. Your hand reaches out, slowly, as you grasp the disconnected plug and connect back into the machine.
Silence.
The room is still. A soft hum vibrates from the machine, as it quickly comes back to life. A light flashes on the machine, blinking in a spot with the shape of your passkey. You don’t hesitate as a surge of excitement overtakes you and you press your card into the blinking spot, going from red to green. Your body feels electric as you walk back over to the Moon animatronic to see if it did anything.
Nothing.
It was still quiet and unresponsive. You wait a few more minutes, seeing if it was just slow from how long it was sitting in here, possibly needing to charge like a phone, but there was still nothing.Deflated, you let out a small sigh as you walk back over to the machine to turn it off when he speaks from behind you.”Hello.” His voice was airy and curious as you quickly spun around to face him. The moon bot was now sitting up and turning to face you. Your eyes widen in shock and disbelief as you realize it worked.
Then you realize it worked.

He looks down at himself and starts to readjust his sleeves, then his eyes start to scan the room. The pit of anxiety sinks deeper within your stomach as the crushing realization that you might’ve just tampered with a Fazbear animatronic settles into reality.”Hmm, It seems we must have had a malfunction in our resting mode. I should alert the maintenance team!” His blissful unawareness was about to get you fired, so you flail your arms at him. “Heeyyyy!! Actually let's- let’s not do that, we don’t need to call them for anything.” His head clicks as it turns slightly, like a dog that looks at someone when it’s confused. “But we aren’t supposed to be resting here, and it's not a part of the ‘Freddy Fun’ code if I don’t alert a problem!” He sits criss-crossed smiling widely at you, your face only reflecting dumbfoundedness. “Freddy what?” You wish you could take back asking, because he immediately goes into every single meaning of the acronym, Letter by letter. “Freddy Fun! F stands for Friendly! Here at Fazbear’s every one of us has a large part to play in making sure we are always friendly with our new friends!” His words dissolve in the background. You attempt to get him to stop, trying to grab the plug that was connected to him to see if that would turn him off, but he grabs your wrist firmly, his gaze locked onto yours as he speaks with frost covered words.“It is not Friendly to interrupt someone when they are speaking or touch them without permission, new friend .” His other free hand reaches up to gently boop your nose and his softer smile reappears, shifting back to that warmer expression as he lets go of your wrist. You’re certain that was a threat and you feel your knees buckle, lowering down on the ground and covering your face.

What was worse, losing your job because you tampered with an animatronic, or being threatened by one? Honestly you weren’t sure, as your breathing became irregular. Your chest tightens as it becomes harder to breathe. A storm rapidly brews and clouds every part of your mind growing more uncontrollable. The moon bot notices your shift in mood quickly, as he tries to think of a solution to help you. He buffers for a moment then gets an idea, and covers his face. He shows it quickly sticking out his tongue before doing it again. He sees you peek out between your fingers slightly to see what he was doing. You look at him,  hearing the sound of his metal moving, seeing that he was playing peek-a-boo with you. Your hands lower and you stare at him, watching as he continues to play with you.
Cover. Reveal. Tongue. Repeat.
A smile cracks on your face as you chuckle softly and tilt your head at him. “What… are you doing?” He peaks from behind his fingers and reveals his smiling face. “I’m trying to make you smile! You seemed really upset and this usually helps make people feel better.”
Cover. Reveal. Tongue. Repeat.
You sigh, feeling the anxiety fizzle away as you watch this robot play peek-a-boo with you. A few moments pass and he stops, and buries his hands between his crossed legs smiling at you. “Do you have a name?” You ask him softly, tilting your head at him curiously. His back straightens slightly and he goes to mirror your body. “Officially it’s Moondrop, but my friends call me Moon!”  “Alright, Moon ..“ You test the words and the indication of referring to him as a ‘friend.”“I need to get back to work so-“ His voice interrupts your sentence enthusiastically. “Ooh, can I come with you? I need to be somewhere.” Your brow raises curiously, unsure what he was referring to. “Where do you need to go?” Moon's hands reach around behind his faceplate, attempting to unplug the cord. You hesitate for a moment before going over to him and glance at the plug silently then back at him. He turns slightly allowing you to access the cord. He ponders your question as you carefully try to undo the cord connected. “What time is it?” He ignores your initial question, but you still respond to him. “It’s 3:15.” He stiffens slightly and begins to fidget with his fingers anxiously, strange . “I have a performance at 5:00pm in the Super Star Theater and I cannot be late.” With a slight tug and pull, you manage to get to cord out, a few sparks flying slightly and his body twitches, then relaxing once again. “You.. okay?” You aren’t sure why you’re asking, you don’t think he was able to feel any pain since he doesn’t have any nerves. He sits there silently for a moment, then stands up. You can’t help but trip over yourself slightly seeing just how tall he was as you look up at him nervously. From the ground, it was almost as if he could reach up and touch the ceiling. He turns to face you with a large smile on his face and gives you a thumbs up. “Yup!! We better get going!” You blink and look to see if there was anyone else in the room with you. “Uh.. we?” He returns your dumbfounded blink.“Yes we.” He points to the passkey slightly poking out of your pocket. “You have the passkey.” You look down at your pocket and grasp it.“Right uh..” you bite your lip, hesitant to say what was on your mind. His head tilts and clicks like a curious puppy once more.“How do I tell you this…” His eyes squint in even more confusion. “There aren’t any performances in the Super Star Theater today at 5.” He stares at you for a long moment, looking at you as if processing what you said. His gaze moves to the floor and his face transforms to a mixture of confusion and sadness. This is awkward. Why did you feel bad seeing him look so sad? Despite your earlier anxieties, you offer a solution (or distraction) for him. ”If you want, you could help me count the rest of the party supplies. I need to go towards the front and place an order on the front desk computer since mine is busted. It’s up to-“ His voice cuts in, interrupting yours with excitement.“I’d love to!!” He’s quickly on his feet and good lord he’s fucking tall . Any trace of the sadness that was there was promptly replaced by curious excitement. It made you wonder just how long he was in resting mode. With his help you both finish counting the flickering room's supplies. Strangely there isn’t much of anything for you in here, despite Chica mentioning this storage room to you. You exit the room, holding the door open for Moon. He has to duck his head under the door frame as he exits. His eyes are looking around and taking in all of his surroundings yet his frame is still unmoving, waiting for you to take the lead. You begin to make your way back to the front of the pizzaplex, passing by the many groups of parents and children. You bite your lip and hope that no one would stop you both to question anything as having him out was a big risk. This was the first time you were thankful that there weren't any other human employees working today. You both begin to approach and walk past a mother trying to calm her very fussy toddler, his cries echoing off the large walls. You go to glance at Moon but find that he was already making his way up to him.” Shit, shit, shit, shit!!! ” You quickly follow after him, attempting to stop him whenever he speaks.”Would you like some help ma’am?” He bent slightly as his hands rested against his knees looking at her and the fussy boy, who now looked at Moon with puffy red eyes. She nods her head, clearly exhausted from trying to settle her son and Moon offers to hold him, to which she quickly hands him over. Excusing herself to a nearby restroom you could hear Moon gently cooing and bouncing him to lull him to sleep.

A faint melody began to play from Moon, one you weren’t familiar with as the toddler quickly began to quiet down. Moon's large hand rested against the little boy’s back as he nuzzled closer against Moon’s chest. His cries were completely silenced now as he fought to keep his tired eyes open. You watch him in awe at how quickly he managed to settle the boy down. Within minutes the boy was quietly resting against Moon. The mother returns freshened up and utterly grateful for Moon's assistance as he gently hands her son back to her. The two of them shuffle towards the exit and Moon watches them leave, a twinkle now in his eyes. “You’re really good with kids.” You meet his side looking up at him, his gaze moving to meet yours.”Of course! It’s what we Fazbear animatronics were designed for.” Right, obviously. He is a Fazbear animatronic, why would you expect anything else? You both continue on your way, a mixture of warm uncertainty filling you with more questions the longer you spend time with him. As you pass the Super Star Theater to get to the computer, you notice that Moon stopped following behind you. His eyes fixated on the dark space for a long moment.”Moon?” His head snaps back to you, following you again silently. Weird .You open the door to the small office with Moon hoovering right behind you, as you flick on the light switch. List in hand, you go over to the computer and go through the items you needed to order. Moon was… uncomfortably close to you. You try your best to ignore him, but he is really close to you. Too close. Your eyes slowly move away from the computer, up his sleeve, to see him staring at your screen.“Hey, uh.. Moon? Could you give me some breathing room?” His eyes shift to yours and his head clicks to the side, then takes a small step back. He was still really close. Softly sighing, you decide not to push it and just get the ordering done with. Suddenly you remembered..”Fuck!” You remembered your order guide, and it was still at your party desk. You could see Moon’s gaze in the reflection of the computer narrow at your choice words. “That’s not Fazbear Friendly language, friend.” You turn to face him giving a small, soft apology before explaining.”I left my order guide back at my desk and it’s got a list of barcodes I need to scan for ordering certain supplies.” “We can go get it together!” His smile was so bright, if only It could light the pit in your stomach.“Oh, no that’s okay! You don’t have to come with me. I can just grab it really quick.” He waves your ‘modesty’ off and puts his hand to his chest. “Nonsense! I would be happy to accompany you through your meticulous journey back to your desk!” He gives you a knightly bow as a mischievous smile crosses his face and you couldn’t help but smile. Rolling your eyes, you brush your fingers through your hair debating his offer.”You sure? It’s a bit of a long walk there and back.” He lifts from his bow and walks back over to you, getting onto one knee and taking your hand in his before speaking. “For the one who awoke me from my eternal sleep, I would do anything to aid you in your journey.” You could tell he was being dramatic, but that didn't stop heat from quickly flooding your cheeks. You pull your hand from him and shift your body away. ”Great!! Let’s go then.” You quickly shuffle past him trying desperately to ignore the flush in your face. You knew he was smirking but you did everything to ignore it as you left the room, Moon swiftly following close behind.Your feet follow the familiar carpet path back to your desk. If you had brought your order guide with you to D7 you wouldn’t have to make this walk all the way back, but then again you weren’t expecting to wake a sleeping robot. Your first day is going stellar .You start to approach the theater again, taking a glance behind you to see that Moon stopped in front of the entrance lost in a trance once more. You stop in your tracks and turn to face him, approaching him carefully.”Do you.. want to go inside?” He tenses slightly, as if he was knocked out of a trance. He looks at you, then back into the theater. You give him a reassuring smile and walk inside. “Hey, it's okay. We have some time. Help me look for a light and we can check it out together.” You step inside as the darkness consumes you entirely. Moon does not follow after you.It was hard to see anything as you began to look around for any sort of light switch.”Moon?” You call out to him, he doesn’t answer. You turn to look and see he’s still standing at the threshold, pondering, hesitating, though he seems unsure why.

“You coming?” You lift an eyebrow at him, shifting your weight to your left side. He stays silently as he slowly joins you in the dark of the theater. You turn away from him as you continue your search, carefully making your way around the theater's dark aisle. Your body stays close against the wall as you find your way to the sound booth. The door was already unlocked as you walked inside, eyeing the many switches and buttons. Some still had small faded labels but most are missing from age. Your fingers gently graze against the sticky residue on the switches, squinting to try to make out what they said as you look for a light switch. Your hand stops on a switch as you’re barely able to make out ‘STAGE’ in red sharpie. As you flip on the switch, the center of the stage becomes illuminated in a bright yellow spotlight. A large proud smile crosses your face as you leave the booth in excitement. The auditorium was still mostly dark but the stage made things a little bit easier to see now. Leaving the booth you call out to Moon.“Moon! I found a light!” You look around where you last saw him but to your surprise he was nowhere to be seen. The room stood eerily silent as you slowly approached the doors, noticing that they were now closed. “ Did Moon close the doors? ” Walking up to the door your hands gently touch the metal of the bar and attempt to push it open.  It doesn't budge .Your brows furrow in frustration as you try once more. “God Fazbear can produce expensive ass robots but they won’t fix rusty door handles?!” You try a few more times only to find yourself huffing in frustration. Great. “Hey Moon, these stupid doors won’t budge! Could you help me open them?” Your voice echoes off the walls as it makes its way back to you with no response from Moon. This is getting freaky, it’s too quiet and you have no idea where this tall ass robot disappeared to. Seriously, how do you lose an animatronic?!“Moon..?” You move away from the door and slowly descend down the aisle towards the stage. You could hear a faint cord pull somewhere in the room and you swerve in the vague direction it came from. A nervous laugh escapes your tightened chest as you stop in the aisle.“Moon I can’t play games right now, I have to get back to work, alright? Can you come out, please?” The silence was deafening, your heartbeat now the only sound drumming in your ears and your hands fidget with your fingers.“Moon?” A metal hand suddenly finds purchase on your shoulder, and you yelp startled by the touch. You turn your body to face Moon sighing as the tension dissipates from you.”God you scared the shit out of..” You don’t see Moon. What stood in front of you was something familiar, because he was in the same poster as Moon. He seemed off though, different from what you remember. Instead of orange eyes you saw a deep blazing red. His eyes felt as though they could burn right through you, almost igniting you in a flame of pure.. hatred. You were frozen in that stare as you felt his claws begin to sink deeper into the flesh of your shoulder.
