Man...How long had it been since they had a proper adventure? Not a small quest that felt more like an errands or a simple request to find someone's missing animal. A real adventure, one with that... thrill. That's what been lacking ever since he fortified Beacontown. He loved it here, don't get him wrong but sometimes... that itch for adventure never quite got scratched...So you could imagine the potential he saw for adventure when...  "Woah!""Jesse?!"  That strange gauntlet decided to choose him.  "Uhh... Are... Are you ok, Jesse?" Petra scrambled up to where Jesse stood silent, staring at the glowing gauntlet on his hand. "Let me try get it off!" Jesse nods, holding his now gloved hand to the warrior, who tugged with an audible groan of effort only for the effort to be in vain. It didn't even budge! The strangely warm gauntlet seemed almost fused with his skin and Petra looked at it defeated. "Oh! Ok, so uh... That is not coming off! Though, I mean... I-it's cool! Like I get that it's... kinda stuck to you right now but it's actually really-""Weird..." "Oh, yeah. I was definitely going to say that. Weird." Petra shifted, glazing towards the gauntlet as well now. "Well, I guess it is cool! If it wasn't stuck to me..." Jesse looked it over, unable to ignore the way it felt on him. The material looks like it should be cold and yet it's like it's heated... No, more like the temperature is fluctuating, pulsing even... "What are we going to do?"Jesse finally is able to tear his eyes away from the glow of the gauntlet to face Petra. "Well... I know somebody who's expertise in all of... this." She gestures to his trapped hand when an uncertain look. "Well then... Lead the way for us."  Jesse couldn't help but smile a little as Petra was basically vibrating with excitement to meet The One and Only Jack, her words not his. He was just hoping he was as knowledgeable as the warrior said...When he grew tired of the many different names Jack seemed to keep listing, Jesse sighed, slamming the hand with the gauntlet down into his front desk, hard. The adventurer jumped, letting out a drawn out nose of shock, backing up away from him. Whether it was the aggression or seeing the gauntlet, Jesse was yet to figure it out. "Oh!... Oh, ahem. You seem to be in quite the... predicament..." Jesse couldn't help but notice a slight tremor from the man. "That's some crazy stuff. Not... that I've seen it before..."Jesse raised a brow. "Yes, thank you for staying something we already know. I was just hoping that you could potentially help us, you know?" He glances over to Petra momentarily. "Petra has a lot of faith in your ability.""You can help... Right?"Jack sighs. He frowns a little, rubbing his temple. "Did you find it in a bottomless pit? And war it spring out monsters too perchance?" The pair nodded, earning another deep sigh from the adventurer. "You shouldn't have picked that up, kid... That... isn't something is mortals should be messing with...""Wow, yeah thanks. I'll remember that the next time I see a creepy prismarine gauntlet whispering my name." Jesse crossed his arms. How was he supposed to know this thing would just attach itself to him?! "Come on, kiddo. Sas won't fix this right now."Jack starts to pace as he talks. "If it's where I think it is, it's an ocean monument. It holds the Structure Block..."
A Structure Block, huh?
Jack explained to the pair that it was a legend that floated around for quite some time, of a block carriage of creating cities in the blink of an eye apparently. A villager comes out from once the back rooms behind the counter. "Is there a problem?" Jack turned to the villager and shakes his head. "Oh, no. Not at all... Uh, you two... This is Nurm. My... other half." Petra waved, enthusiastically towards the newcomer, while Jack puts a gentle arm around Nurm. "Uh, I was just about to tell these two that I... Uh, can't help them...""What?" Jesse frowned deeply, as did Petra, though she seemed more shocked to see this from Jack. He explains that he refused to take anyone to the monument again, even going as far as to burn the very map that took him there. It took... some time to convince him to take him there but to their luck, they managed to create some courage in him, the adventurer going along with the villager to pack resources before they head off. Petra was... obviously ecstatic to be going on an adventure with the idol she looked up to. It was quite sweet.Upon arrival of the destination, Jack equipped the group with these strange helmets Jesse had never seen before. They seemed to be enchanted with some sort of water breathing. Quite cool, actually. Made the whole underwater thing so much easier.  The temple was not far now, but of course not without struggle. The damned Guardians surrounding the whole place immediately noticed them and attacked. Gosh, manoeuvring is so much harder underwater! Jesse just barely served out of the way of one of the beams, pushing his way forward to the rest of his group ahead.
Huh.... Why is the gauntlet starting to pulse again?...
Finding the remains of one of Jack's friends was... grim. He ended up being hunched over it for a while, holding the inventory to his chest. Petra and Nurm stayed with him while Jesse volunteered to search around for them. As he approached underneath one of the strange obsidian cages hanging from the ceilings, the gauntlet began to feel warm. No, that's understatement. It was hot, almost burning. And the pulsing, the beating of a hear-"Uh, hello?! Is someone there?"Jack seemed to perk up, his disbelief visible before he quickly ran to where Jesse stood. "Vos?!" A heavy sigh. "Oh, thank goodness! Jack! My friend, is it really you?!""Yes! Yes, it's me! How did you get in there?""Oh dear, I can't remember that well... I know I was put in here by someone but I just can't remember who! I'm so sorry, my memory is seriously failing me..." Jack shook his head. "Don't worry about it, old pal! All that matters is getting you out of there!" With that, Jack turns to Jesse. "Got any blocks, kiddo? And that pickaxe I gave you?" Jesse nods with a smile, passing the adventurer half of the stack he had. The two build their way up to the tough cage.Jesse let's out a pained gasp. The damn gauntlet! It feels like it burning his skin and it throbbed as if it were alive. "Kid?""Ah, sorry Jack. I'm... mostly ok. This damn thing feels like it turned into lava!" With a soft curse under his breath, Jack frowns. "Shit... Would putting it in water help? I can do this myself-""It's fine. I'm already up here now." Jack nods reluctantly as he shifts so that Jesse can reach. Upon breaking the cage, he sees and old man in there, blue warm adventurer gear on. His face lights up and he approaches the exit. Jesse bites back another gasp as the burning pulsing grew. "Oh, thank you! You don't know how long I've had to sit in that darkness for!" He nods silently, as he breaks the tower back down to the floor. With that, Jesse goes over to the little pool of water and notices that the sensation is lessening. Strange..."Vos, my friend, how did you even survive all this time?" Jack checks his old friend for injuries, three old man just laughs. "Ohh, well... You'd be surprised how long a pork chop lasts if you just sit really still."Jesse finds himself testing something, walking a bit more away from the newcomer and finding the gauntlet simmering down. It has to be a coincidence...
Right?...
