Tears rolled down his face as he watched the glinting rocket ship carry off his only true friend. Or, at least, he had thought they were friends. But Captain Olimar had boarded without even sparing him a second glance. No hugs, no comforting words, just nothing. As Pikmin Red closed his eyes, he started to long for times past.      The first time he had laid eyes on Captain Olimar was shortly after his space craft had crashed on PNF-404. Olimar had stumbled out, battered by the impact, and fell to the ground. He smiled at the memory. But then Olimar’s mission was completed and Pikmin Red was forced to watch as he returned to his home planet.           He could bear it the first time, but that was because he had never tasted the bitterness of abandonment. But then tragedy after tragedy occurred. Captain Olimar, much to the pikmins’ chagrin, did not return. Then his wife left him, taking his only son. Now, Pikmin Red was tired. Tired of the betrayal, the loneliness, the false hope. That feeling of forlornness was not one he wished to bare again. Captain Olimar was dead to him.
