Work Text

A dark, thick fog settles beneath the skyline of the city. The city lives and breathes with the excitement of nightlife. Its citizens fill its nightclubs, speakeasies, bars, and any inhabitable space that will serve them. The streets themselves lie empty except for whisps of shadows passing by. The city of South Park can be quite deceiving to those around it, for truly, it is not as quiet and “small-town” as it seems. While the liveliness of the night continues to roar on, on the outskirts of the city, a bigger issue unfolds.“Come on, come on! I don’t have all night for this!” The light of the moon reflecting off the young man’s watch is the only light seen around. He looks up, watching those who he hired haul the cargo boxes into their designated spot. He goes over the plan one more time in his head. The amount of damage he could make with the explosives in these boxes… No one would be able to interrupt-“Uh- Professor Chaos, sir”“Oh, for goodness sake. What is it? We are going to be caught if we don't hurry this, up general!”“Well, that’s just it.” As if on cue, he hears the heavy sound of a body falling to the ground. And the painful sound of wood falling and breaking apart right after.“Gosh darn it.” The Professor mumbles as he feels his hands get restrained behind him. Again. This happened again. Fudge. He went over it this time. Since his childhood, everyone always got the best of him, and it just hasn’t stopped now. No, this masked idiot was taking him down again. “Mysterion, don’t you ever get tired of coming after little old me?”“No.” Cold as ever. He never talks. Hardly gives any indication of anything. You could say,… mysterious. The blond boy chuckles to himself as he watches the scene unfold in front of him. General disarray is on the ground not too far away for resisting a little too much. All his men are already tied away. He watches the rest of the team of the Extreme Avenger League (previously known as Coon and Friends) disassemble his whole plan. Toolshed drills into the boxes to safely take them apart, at least the boxes that didn't fall with his men. Tupperware safely puts away the contents while Super Craig takes them and runs to dispose of them. The rest of the team doesn’t seem to be there. As they grew together, it seemed that they did not always go out as a whole group. He’s sure that another group of them is inside of the city dealing with various crimes. Most of the time, they act independently as well and just group as they seem necessary. Professor Chao, however, definitely can tell Mysterion is the one calling the shots. Just as everything had come undone in front of him, an opportunity presented itself. A small stick of dynamite had just grazed his shoes. Quickly, he steps on it ever so lightly so no one else would see. He waits for Mysterion to start giving orders to use his just slightly free hand to focus down on the ground in alignment with the explosive. He moves one leg a step forward and tries to position the stick in the least painful way possible. Then, after some concentration, a spark ignites.“Fiddlesticks, this is going to hurt,” Chaos mumbled, and the next thing he knew was that Mysterion and him were being propelled meters away from each other. The initial adrenaline doesn’t let him stop for a minute. The thought of his companion General Disarray did cross his mind but screw it! One foot hit the pavement hard, and the next thing he knew, he was hitting the ground running. He does hear the faint sound of a group of heroes trying to clamor after him, I'm, but he weaves through the innerworkings of the alleyway to get around. As he begins to slow down, the pain starts to get to him. You could hardly say he was limping. Finally, the reddish house appears from around the corner. On the way, the helmet and cape were already taken off and tucked under his arm.“Aw man, my parents are totally gonna ground me for getting my leg hurt”The walk back to the middle of the city is quiet. Super Craig was using his ability to transform space to transport the explosives. Once they had cleared what they couldn't carry, he sped off to the base. That left only Mysterion, Toolshed, and Tupperware to walk alone. A few passersby looked over at them, some whispering among themselves, others giggling and waving. It wasn’t anything unheard of, whether it be day or night. Most of the crew had their identities exposed regardless, so they never really heard the end of it. Although considering they chose to have their identities known, they didn't mind. Toolshed waved back at the girls, giving a smile.“Stan, don’t you get tired of all that?” Token asks him, taking the shield off his face and allowing him to be heard more clearly“Whatt Token, you weren’t much better than me not that long ago. The only person that has any right to say anything is Mysterion over here,” Stan playfully jabs their masked companion. The only one out of them that remains with no identity. Mysterion only looks over at him and nothing more. “Hey, maybe he’s one of the vampire kids they usually try to be cool and mysterious”“They aren’t vampires they’re goth,” The hero retorts only leading to Token and Stan getting more interest in prying into his secret identity once again.“You know who would say that… A goth kid”“Do goth kids want to be superheroes though?” Token questions Stan back“Damn it. One day Mysterion. How’s your leg holding up?”In response to the question, he looks down at his leg. They had wrapped it at the scene. Fortunately, he didn't use an entirely effective or very big explosive so the damage wasn’t as bad as it seemed. But regardless they wrapped it up. It hurts with each step it takes but he had no time for that. There are bigger problems to face. What was he going to do with all those explosives? What is he planning? How could he let him get away again?“Mysterion?”“Oh yes, it's fine.” And with that, they reached the dead end of a dark alley. On a brick in a rather out-of-reach spot was a brick with a faintly etched-on question mark. Mysterion pressed on it opening a doorway to their hideout. “You guys go ahead I’ll catch up with you later.” Stan and Token look at each other and nodded as they headed in.They headed down the stairwell. The place used to be what seemed to be an old speakeasy so their team took the chance before the city government could and covered it up immediately. But what lies inside now doesn’t even resemble what it used to look like. The place wasn’t very high-tech. A few computers a surveillance system and that's about it. At the end of the day, they’re almost all teenage boys. So it looked more like a glorified hangout, equipped with some couches, beanbag chairs, PlayStation, and multiple controllers, anything that would be a kid’s dream. Stan and Token walked with a “We’re back!” and were greeted happily by various members. Stan immediately sat next down to Kyle to get on the game with him.“Hey, Stan how was it?”“Not bad got most of it done.” Stan shrugs not caring too much just wanting to play some games with his friend. “Everyone back yet?’“No. Craig just got back” Kyle gestured over to the extra large bean bag chair across the room where a Wonder Tweek is sitting and occasionally glancing down at the passed-out Super Craig beside him. The two had become friends upon joining the team. “Jimmy and Clyde are still out but I’m not sure they’re even coming back here. It’s late we have school tomorrow”“One more game?”The redheaded boy smiled and nodded before queuing up the next game. The bright sunlight crashes through the window directly onto Craig’s eyes. God, he has never hated anything more in his life. As if in reflex he raises his hand and flips off the sun then quickly turns away from the window. Then as if the universe just absolutely wanted to ruin his morning his phone started buzzing. He rips the charger out and unlocks his phone. ``You have 3 new Messages````Tweek Tweak
Hey dude!!! R U AwaKE????
HELLO?
U R L8``
Craig rolled his eyes and threw his phone down on the bed and got up. This tweek kid he recently became friends with him but something about him. How can you not be on edge with someone always on edge? Whatever, he barely had time to live a double life much less put in effort to maintain friendship. After brushing his teeth and washing his face he rushed to get dressed. A dark blue sweater will do just fine today. He checked the time on his phone.  Shit only 10 minutes  He thought to himself. While running downstairs he throws on his hat, grabs his keys, and replies to his 3 new texts from his unnerving new friend.``C - Hey I’m on my way there now. I’ll just see you at lunch.``And with that, he drives off into the godforsaken building of he must attend every damn do. Once he parks his car he starts walking in through the front door. Usually, he’s greeted by a shaky blond boy but today was not the day. There just wasn’t enough time to make it so Tweek would just have to go to class.“C-Craig!!” He stands corrected.“Hey Tweek,” The smaller boy looked like he was the one running late. They had been in the same school for years so if there’s one thing that Craig noticed it was just a tad bit cleaner the boy had gotten. Coffee droplets hit the ground from the cup shaking in his hand. And he still wears his signature green button-down. One that is still misbuttoned, although not as bad. Craig reached down without saying a word to do the quick fix.“Argh!!” Tweek almost jumped back ripping out the buttons. The boy coughed to clear his throat. “S-so are you still tired after yesterday?”Craig shrugged as they began to walk toward class. They were surely going to be late. “It was fine. It went down pretty fast. But we can’t talk about that here remember?”“Oh yeah…” Tweek nodded rapidly as if he was being questioned by the police. Craig sighed this was going to be a long day. He wasn’t particularly interested in talking with anyone. Finally, they made it to class with a few bad looks from their teacher. “Ahem! Craig Tucker and Tweek Tweak do you know what time this class starts?”“8 AM.” Tweek immediately replies the shaking in his hands increasing.“That's right! And you know tardiness is not tolerated!” She uses her wooden pointing stick to tap rather aggressively on the board where it reads
NO LATE STUDENTS. NO LATE WORK. PUNCTUALITY IS KEY
Garnering a collectively annoyed groan from the class. “That’s detention after school for both of you. Don’t make this happen again.”“Nice going dipwad” An Eric Cartman gives the short snark comment to Craig as he goes to his seat. Craig flipped him off and a short comment of fatass as his back was still turned from the teacher. As Craig took his seat he sighed and looked up at the ceiling. God this is tiring.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick…The time is dragging. More than ever. Craig’s eyes follow the small red marker on the clock, slowly past the numbers against the white background. Then, finally, once it goes full circle, a beautiful sound blesses his ears. The lunch bell. Quickly, his notebooks are tucked into his book bag. The half-complete worksheets are taken and shoved to the bottom to join the other similarly tossed papers. And with that sweet satisfaction of the zipper hitting the other end, she runs to the cafeteria. The swarms of students flooded the halls in unison. Craig pushes through the crowd and finally finds himself entering the wide room lit by devastatingly bright fluorescent lights. Every group has assembled at their tables or is still standing in line. The food here is hardly what you could call edible. But regardless, he stands in line and waits his turn. Once the food is on the tray, he walks over to the large table in the middle. His friends are already sitting there and greet him with a smile, quick to return to their conversation. Token and Clyde are seated beside each other, diligently arguing over who would have the ultimate form: ManBearPig or PigBearMan.“What about BearPigMan?” Craig asks jokingly, only for dumb and dumber to gasp in unison and start to factor in yet another character. This only led to him rolling his eyes at the stupid argument and landing on Tweek. He takes his seat beside an eccentric little blonde boy once again. The boy was quickly eating his lunch as if someone was going to take it from him. He could swear he once heard him mumbling something about food fairies. To accompany the lunch was a small little water bottle, a green one, of course, that was not filled with water either. Man, doesn’t he get sick of being overly caffeinated? The four of them weren’t always friends. Well, Token and Clyde had been quite good friends for some time, and they considered Craig right along with them. However, he didn’t see himself as close as they did. But he couldn’t complain. Tweek only joined them this year. He had decided to take on his superhero persona, and he made enough impact that the group decided to take the new boy in. Clyde immediately took the nervous kid under his wing, and since then, Tweek has just been stuck. Craig looked around the large room. It was a strange phenomenon how normal everything seemed now. About a year ago, the first heroes began to come out. Everyone went crazy. People were conspiring, whispering, making fan works, there were even some fan clubs started. It all built up until Coon and Friends officially became known. All the other students tried talking to them and becoming friends. It was too much to bear and watch. Craig could hardly care when his friends were involved. Sure, it was nice what they were doing, but at the end of the day, they were still his friends. He didn’t even know why they didn’t all just hide their identities, but it was too late for that now. The only ones that are truly unknown are Mysterion and Professor Chaos. They all had ridiculous and not very conspicuous costumes at first, anyway. That's all died down now. Thankfully. And since then, the Coon and Friends have had to rebrand due to the withdrawal of The Coon.“Hey, Fellas!” Butters come over to their table with a little wave. In his hand is a brown bag with the top edges neatly folded down. He would sit with them from time to time. It varied. Today, though, he seems like he’s lagging as he’s walking over to them. Craig looked down to see his leg wrapped in a splint, earning him a raised eyebrow. Last night… He shook his head. It couldn't be.“Hey, Butters,” Clyde greeted the other boy with a smile. Token hesitated, making eye contact with Craig. So he wasn’t crazy. But thankfully, it was Clyde who asked what they were both thinking. “Woah, what happened to your leg?”The blond boy didn’t skip a beat when he was asked, as if it was rehearsed. “Oh, this?” He laughs nervously “Oh, it’s nothing! I tripped, going down the stairs to get to dinner. My parents will ground if I’m not on time, y’know.” The brown bag sat down against the plastic of the table, reserving his spot. “It ain’t nothing bad though doc said I only have to wear it for a few days on account it’s not as bad as it looks.”“So you broke your leg going down the stairs. Stairs you’ve walked down your whole life. And you always know you’re going to be grounded.” Craig stated in his nasally monotone voice. “You know there was an explosion on the outside of town last night.”“O-oh yea? I haven’t heard anything about that.”“You know what else they say, that Professor Chaos was behind it.” Token added on. This caught the table's attention. Clyde perked up and looked between the three of them.“Hey, actually, did Professor Chaos have blonde hair too?” Clyde raised his eyebrow, starting to have a hint of suspicion in his voice. The thought had never crossed his mind before. Butters is a sweet kid. But then again, he's never heard him even mention thinking about becoming a hero. Then again, Butters doesn’t have any powers; he would only be a danger. Then there’s his parents too.“Let's calm down, you guys! No reason to start pointing fingers.” The situation was this close to de-escalation until the table behind him overheard the conversation.“Butters, we should’ve known!” A large boy loudly announced. Eric Cartman. That kid never fails to just cause a disruption. Stan, Kyle, and Kenny are all sitting at the same table, and they look over to see what’s happening. Kenny, in particular, looked Butters up and down, thinking of his bandages hidden beneath his bright orange clothes.“Tweek has blonde hair, too!” Eric got up and began to circle the table.“Well, well, well, A great evil is sitting at this table, ladies and gentlemen. And the only way it can be settled… A fight to the death right here in the middle of the cafeteria“Shut up, fatass! Don’t be ridiculous!” Kyle yells at him comfortably from his seat.“No one cares what you think, you frickin jew!!” Their endless battle should be the one of the century instead. Cartman’s attention returns to the table, focusing on Tweek. “Well, Tweek, that is true. What do you have to say for yourself?“W-what, that’s not true!” Tweek exclaims. He can feel the weight of everyone's eyes looking at him. Even Craig’s attention is on him, and for some reason, his eyes feel twice as heavy.“Here, look,” Butters stops the interrogation for a moment. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a receipt. One for a restaurant, on the opposite side of town. It was late. Not as late as the explosion. But based on the distance and how far along the little plan of the professor was, it would be impossible to achieve all in the same night. Cartman ripped the receipt out of Butter’s hands, that is, until Kenny took it out of his. From under the orange hood, he scanned over the receipt and then nodded. That only leads to everyone looking at Tweek.“B-but I am one of you!”“Tsk, tsk, tsk young Tweek. You didn’t join the ‘Extreme Avenger League,’” The team name of the group in air quotes by Cartman, who never well approved. “Until recently, ANDDD, we never really saw you battle with Professor Chaos.” The large boy paces back and forth, definitely envisioning himself as the top-world detective. His dramatic gestures and wonderfully drawn conclusions only added to this little spotlight moment. “ANDDDDDD, these so-called lightning powers look pretty similar to what that evil bastard can do.” Then, finally, with a spin on his heels, he brings his arm to the air and then quickly brings it down to an accusatory point at Tweek. “So if I dare say it, you, Tweek Tweak, ARE Professor Chaos”There’s a collective low gasp around the group. Tweek’s shaking intensifies. His eyes are shifting everywhere, trying to look at his friends for help, but he can’t even bring himself to make eye contact. This can’t be happening. He’s gonna lose all his friends. Then he’s going to get kicked out of school. And arrested. Then he’s going to lose any hope of a future. Oh god, this can’t be happening. Tweek feels like his whole body is quivering. He stands up without a word and begins to step away.“Woah you guys back up. This could be serious-” A hard force stops his sentence in its tracks. A stinging sensation tingles up to Cartman’s face. At first, he doesn’t feel anything, and out of reflex, his hands fly up to his face. “T-TWEEK WHAT THE FUCK YOU SICKO”Tweek is staring at him. Everyone is staring at Tweek. And with that, he bolts off, not even sure what happened. Why did he do that? There’s a silence over the cafeteria; if anyone wasn’t paying attention before, everyone is focused now. Kyle looked at Cartman, furious.“What the fuck is wrong with you!” However, even Kyle couldn’t argue with the fact that everyone had given some thought to what Cartman said. Eric turns to the ginger.“Shut the fuck up, that psycho broke my noseee!” The boy whined, still clutching his face, a droplet of blood hitting his “Who Is The COON?” T-shirt. Finally, Craig is the first to move. He isn’t sure what compels him to get up. He wasn’t even sure he didn’t kind of believe what Cartman was saying. But the next thing he knows, he’s running after… his friend. The hallways are barren. He is grateful to be able to find the boy way faster. But there isn’t a single trace of him. Finally, he enters a nearby bathroom when he hears it. The quick placed rapid breathing coming from inside one of the stalls. Craig approaches the gray-painted door. The paint is peeling, the walls seem to have something growing from them, and one of the lights at the far end is flickering every so often.“Tweek?” The name was starting to feel more familiar on his tongue.“Gah!!! G-get- Get out!!” Tweek hardly gets the words to come out of his throat. Craig can tell. I mean he has spent enough time with this kid to be able to tell what he always talks like.“I’m coming in.” There’s no response. Just as he was about to climb over the poorly secluded stal he noticed the lock wasn't through all the way. As if it was pushed in a rush. So with a quick force of the door there he stood towering over a rather startled boy. Tweeks hair was even more frazzled than usual. Anyone could tell it's been pulled at and messed with. The button-up sleeves are pulled to his forearms only showing the white long-sleeve shirt that tightly hugs his pale arms. However right at the end where cloth and skin meet there's a pink patch, freshly pink. It doesn’t take long for the taller boy to recognize this to be from the boy's own doing. Scratching he presumes. Tweek himself is sitting on the toilet seat. Probably not the most sanitary but that seems to be the last thing anyone is worried about here. The blond-haired boy is sitting there doubled over with one hand on his knee and the other clutching his chest.“Holy- Are you okay??!” Craig slowly steps over further into the painfully small cubicle of a space. “Breathe focus on my voice” The loud rapid breathing started and stopped in no way an organized manner but an effort was being made. “Shit okay um.” Craig gently and kind of awkwardly puts his hands on the sides of the panicked boy’s shoulder and lifts him to his feet. This only causes Tweek to squirm and look around frightened when he looks into Craig’s eyes“M-my” Tweek points to his chest weakly. This elicits a small smile from Craig“Don’t worry you’re not dying. Put your feet down and feel the ground supporting you “Can you hear my voice?” A small nod. God, he wasn’t trained for this he only had shows and movies to go off of. “Okay tell me what you feel.” Slowly he led them out of the cramped stall closer to where the sinks are located.“I … I feel my shirt, I feel um uh” Then it was sudden all without warning a splash of cold water hit his face just as we were talking. “Ah!! Cold! What the fuck Craig!”“Sorry, I panicked I don’t know what I’m supposed to do here!”“Not that! Ah, now I’m panicked and cold!”“But you’re speaking in full sentences.” The two looked at each other. The room stood still after what felt like spinning for hours. A small smile crept onto Craig’s face. Next thing he knows the two begin to laugh. It’s joyous and relieved laughing. Tweek still shakes as he wipes the water out of his face. His anxiety isn’t completely ridden from him but at least he feels like he can take a deep breath.“Listen I know we fought as kids and all but I didn’t think you had it in you to throw a punch like that” Tweek gives a nervous smile and accepts the paper towel Craig had extended to him“Ye-a I just I don’t know I was, uh panicking” His arm, the same one that hit Cartman twitched. He hoped silently to himself that Craig wasn’t looking down at him for being so, all over the place.”“He got what’s coming to him. Don’t worry. I’m glad you’re okay now let’s go back maybe you can get away with it” Craig led the way out of the bathroom, leaving him blind to a shaky panic-ridden teen with his mouth slightly agape in awe? Shock? Even Tweek couldn’t tell for sure what he was feeling. The last bell finally rings. At least for the rest of the students it did. Unfortunately for Craig, it was the first bell for detention. He wasn’t in any rush to get there either. Once he finished gathering his belongings and putting them away at his locker he made his way over to the detention room. It wasn’t anything special. It was just a classroom that no one ever really touched except to make out, work on projects, and of course, serve their time in detention. As he enters he looks around the room. The usual suspects are here. Most of them he only knew through detention. Of course Cartman. But this time a new face is entered among the crowd. Tweek sat in the back looking like he was on death row. For some reason instead of the typical annoyance from having to spend even more time with him a small smile graces his face.“Hey dude,” Craig greets setting his bag down beside the empty desk in the back. He looks up at the teacher proctoring them. The guy was already enthralled with the big book in his hands so it looked like they were in the clear. Tweek jumped in his seat and turned to the sound of the voice.“O-oh hey! Forgot we got detention together. They accidentally gave me detention again. Cartman ratted me out to the nurse. Then they told me I had to go to detention. I was almost going to get expelled. I was going to tell them that I already had detention. But I don't think they even know that”“SHHHHH” An annoyed voice echoes from the front of the class, his eyes not leaving the words on the page. Tweek sunk into his seat a light pink settling onto his face from the embarrassment and Craig gave a light chuckle.“That’s cool you got away with all that. You know I have to tell you for a while there I didn’t know if you were going to be cool to hang with at all.” Tweek smiled ever so nervously. Hs hands were folded together, his thumbs circling one another in an attempt to be still. The random twitches from his leg not helping.“O-oh! Thank you?!” Craig didn’t reply again but instead just shared a smile. The sun outside filled the otherwise dreary classroom. For the events that ensued today, detention didn’t seem all that bad. Nor did it seem it was going to last very long as his phone goes off``EXTREME AVENGER LEAGUE ALERT - ALL MEMBERS REPORT TO BASE IMMEDIATELY``Craig and Tweek looked at one another and nodded. They were going to have to find a way out of here.“Mr. Teacher Tweek is going to throw up I have to take him to the nurse.” The teacher looked up to eye Craig and his sudden announcement. He looks so much taller when he gets out of his seat to stand next to his dear, sick, vomiting friend“Looks fine to me.” His eyes return down to his book. Craig takes the opportunity to hit Tweek. And while he initially meant for his shoulder in a kind of playfully go with it kind of way he hit his friend directly on his throat. This triggered Tweek’s instinct to double over on his side and begin making egregious coughing sounds while holding his throat. “Goodness, Okay okay just take it out of here!!” THe teacher quickly announced at the sound of the student. Clearly this guy did not handle the idea of being sick very well because he was turning green himself.“Thanks!” Craig quickly pulled Tweek up and escorted him out of the room. One Eric Cartman eyed them suspiciously as they walked out. But with no time to spare they rushed out of the building and into the parking lot.“Um… you can let go of me now”“Oh- Oh right! Sorry” The taller boy looked away embarrassed as he fished for his keys in his pocket. “We can take my car” Which they quickly located. Once inside they sped off to the hideout. Most of the drive however was spent in silence. Until they finally arrived. Quickly they got out and sped down the alley.“What do you think this is about”“I’m not sure.” A growing pit in Tweek’s stomach kept nagging at him that it’s about him. It’s about how they can’t trust him anymore and are going to have to lock him up and torture him for information. But upon entering everyone was huddled around the TV. No one even bothered to look over at them.“What’s going on?” Craig took his dark blue jacket off and joined the group.“You’re finally all here. We just got this sent to us today” Mysterion clicked play on the video. The TV displays a room covered in aluminum foil. Not just the ground but the walls even the bits of the ceiling that were showing seemed to be reflecting that silver shiny material. But besides the wrapping, there's no furniture anywhere. A light emits from the center of a hanging lightbulb. Typical. But right beneath it is a body lying on the ground. Gasps go around the room. What is this? Why would someone send it? Upon closer look parts of the silver metal are shrouded in a dark crimson accompaniment. The body on the ground appears to be a woman, long curly blonde hair tangled and torn lies beneath her. She looks lifeless. Then the sound of footsteps begins to approach. The next thing on the screen is a dark green cape. One that is instantly recognizable as belonging to Professor Chaos. Except he doesn’t turn around. This seems different. He’s never done something like this before. He stops right before the body and bends down to pick her up from the hair on her scalp. This immediately generates a reaction from the girl as if she were roaring back to life. She begins to scream and pull away only inflicting more pain.“Please no more!!” She pleads with him. But he doesn’t say a word. He only turns her to the camera. Her face is bruised and beaten but still recognizable.“Bebe…” Clyde whispers in utter shock. The tape continues“The professor will be ridiculed no more.” She cries in pain. Hardly able to get the words out of her mouth. “He demands all the heroes to hang up their masks. Their reign of peace and justice is over. Mysterion must submit to his power and unveil himself. If you -you want to save an innocent life.” She begs with her eyes, without even saying it directly “and the future lives of many more to come you must bring in cash a settlement of $50,000, and the key. One person must bring it. Alone.I drink the sky but remain dry,A serpent that never slithers by.I carve the land yet do not bite,A path of whispers in the night.Where am I?.”Then the screen goes dark.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

“Fuck, fuck, fuck me.” Mysterion paces around the room pulling on the edges of his hood. The rest of the superhero team is in a similar display of horror and dismay. The screen remains black but in everyone's mind, the atrocity that they had witnessed continues to replay.Kyle was the first to act. He did have a well-known reputation for being quite smart, and a fast thinker. He had already written down the riddle in the video and put it on the bulletin board. It was already filled with other skepticism and hints of their villainous counterpart’s identity. But until now the urgency to solve the mystery was not looming over them. Kyle and a few others gathered around trying to distract their minds and get to the bottom of this mystery before an innocent woman died. The very idea of this happening however was eating at the mind of poor Clyde Donovan, who was just on the verge of ripping out several tufts of his own hair. His only sanctity at the moment was his best friend, Token, who had his arm around him trying his best to reassure the distressed teenager.“This can’t be happening. How could I let this happen? I just went out with her last night. Fuck I should’ve realized something was wrong when I didn’t see her,” Clyde rocks back and forth his eyes darting frantically across the floor as if they were begging for an answer to appear before him. The image flashes in his head over and over. The bruises, the blood, a look of fear that he had always dreaded to see in those he loved. Then suddenly a shadow casts over him.“How much do you know? What did she last say to you?” It’s Mysterion. Clyde lifts his eyes from the floor to make eye contact. His eyes never felt so weighted. And in the masked man’s eyes, he sees a rabidness. A hunger, frantically searching for answers to feed on.“I-I don’t know… I don’t know anything I can’t believe this is happening what am I going to do.”“Why didn’t you realize she was missing you two are practically attached at the hip, she doesn’t text you all day, and what you don’t even realize??” The mystery man presses further into the boy kneeling on the ground. Token shoots him a dirty look but quickly returns his attention to his friend. Clyde’s trembling seems to have intensified further. His hands are on his knees, the nails of his fingers digging into his skin. He’s searching for something, anything to ground his racing mind. He hears Craig’s voice from behind him.“Hey lay off of him man I know you want to figure this out but he just saw his girlfriend beaten up in front of him.”“We fought.” The whispering voices over by the bulletin board begin to glance over. Clyde lifts a hand to his face to push the tears beginning to form away from him. He’s embarrassed. How could he let himself look like this to the others? “Fuck…” A shaky breath is drawn in “Bebe is being tortured and could be fucking killed and all she’s going to remember is us tearing at each other. DAMN IT. I should’ve waited to see her walk inside her house FUCK.” His hands are rolled into fists, and the sound of their collision into the ground echoes throughout the room. Mysterion grumbles something, not a shred of empathy displayed except in walking away.“It’s okay, it’s okay you didn’t know it's not your fault…” Token gently rubs his back and continues to reassure him in a quiet soothing voice. He looks at the others who are only watching in disbelief, shock, and pity. Everyone is just standing, lost, unsure of where to even begin. But Token knew one thing: it was that Clyde needed space, and definitely didn’t need to be watched. So he tucks his arm under Clyde’s and carefully supports him to his feet. Clyde allows this and just follows his friend’s lead. Token looks back at his team where they exchange quick nods before leading the now silently crying boy away. The only thing heard was the whispering of comfort before it dissipated away. It was silent in the room. As if everyone was afraid to make a single wrong move. Mysterion’s back-and-forth pacing alongside the edge of the wall didn’t exactly add to the atmosphere. Suddenly he stops and looks at his team. There’s a fiery rage in his eyes. This instills a secondary layer of fear into everyone in the room. They’ve never seen him like this. Sure, he was serious and put all his efforts into solving crime and such but this? To make him so angry, so intense? This is new. This is unsettling.“This makes no sense. No sense at all. Why now? Why has he never done this before?” He comes over to them facing the team with questions presented in front of them. They all look at each other not even sure where to begin to break this down. Stan is the first to take the initiative this time.“We don’t know why. Or how. Or when. Okay, what we have is this stupid ass riddle and some ridiculous requests. What we do know is that we can’t let him do this Bebe. I mean we all saw how fucked Clyde was,” They all nodded in silent agreement. “Let's, uh, damn, let's track him down!”“How?” Craig chimes in as if it is a ridiculous statement. To be fair it did seem like a quite out-of-reach solution to the rest of the team as well. “I mean come on he didn’t even give us a time limit! He could want this to all be done tonight!”“That’s true,” Mysterion agrees, beginning to pace again. “Something is missing, it just doesn’t add up, or make sense. Okay here’s what we can do, first things first let's decipher this riddle, and, maybe it’ll give us the answer we’re looking for. Next, let’s keep watching the video. There's gotta be some details we missed that’ll give us some clue. Kyle, Token, and Jimmy can get on that once Token gets back and if Clyde is ready he can help too. The rest of us will begin searching the city. The sooner we find this location the better. Get a map and we can start organizing and drawing out a plan.” Tweek goes and grabs a map and lays it out on a table on the side of the room and the rest follow. The team began to discuss logistics, who would work with who, and who was going to take what part, but of course, this day was already going downhill. Their phones chime in collectively. Some ringing out loud, some vibrations against the wood table. The synchronization draws their attention. They all grab their phones. The only one who doesn’t is Mysterion, who well, no one has seen him have any personal device except a laptop with strictly team information and plans.“What the fuck!” Tweek exclaimed, almost dropping his phone. The blood drains from his face. As if he was face to face with the dead. One by one their faces turn cold and begin to exchange confused glances. Mysterion leans in asking what the hell was going on. Craig turns to him and shows him the text that they all collectively received ` - Hey, you guys!!!😁 It’s your favorite girl Bebe-You are all invited to my super cool and exciting house party tonight!! Everyone is gonna be there so don’t miss out on the party of the year!!!!!!!!!!!)-Starts 8 PM (No parents (; )Drinks provided1357 House Street Road ` “How can this be possible?” Jimmy questions.“I don’t know what this is. Or what sick mind games these psychopaths are trying to play but you all have to go to that party and find out what the fuck is going on. I’ll stay here just in case I can break anything down or get any new information. Besides you all wouldn’t look as suspicious as I would being there since you know them. Until then let's break down what we have as much as we can.” They all begin to exchange conspiracies as they listen to Mysterion’s command. Everyone delves into their respective groups and starts to try to tear into the information that they have received. Not a single person in the room is even able to begin comprehending what is happening, or what is to possibly come. Two hours had passed. Not a lot of progress has been made. A few members had left either to fulfill obligations at their own homes or to begin scouring the city. The uneasiness and anxiety they had been feeling didn’t make it much easier to work or even focus. Then as if the universe was continuing to taunt them the alert went off indicating that there was an emergency to attend to. Stan walks over to the beeping monitor and clicks on it. The exhaustion in his movements is evident. A groan of annoyance escapes his mouth“Bank robbery on West 150th.” He announces to the group. Craig who felt like he was just faking tasks trying to help the others perked up. Before anyone even had the chance to say anything he grabbed the opportunity.“I’ll do it!” The speed and possibly a dash of excitement in his tone earned him a few side glances but he didn’t care. It was eating at his brain to just stand there not able to do anything. “Tweek and I can go I mean,” He says again in a more normal tone trying to recover from the initial outburst. “Might as well we can be fast so you know we can come and work on this” Stan shrugged, not a care in the world. This was usually Mysterion’s job but he had left a while ago. Tweek shot him a look of evident confusion but didn’t display any resistance either. Only followed Craig to go get their suits on in the attached room. Not a single word is exchanged as they enter the room, the door shutting behind them. It was their equipment room. Each person’s costume is hung up against the furthest wall in neat displays. On the right are various weapons lined in rows and columns. Ranging from the simplest of knives and guns to ones that were more tailored for each of their powers. Then on the left were, well enhancements you could say. Smoke bombs, actual explosives, rope, ammunition, weapon sharpeners, etc. Also on the opposing walls were tables in the front to be able to lay out and see what may be needed for each mission, as well as some chairs. The two grab their costumes and lay them down on the table, one on each side of the room. Craig lays down the top half and runs his hand across the embroidered symbol. A small chuckle escapes his mouth when he thinks back to the time it was just a piece of paper with an S stuck on it.“Wh- what are you laughing at?” Tweek asks him confused, and what seems to be embarrassed as he quickly pulls his shirt down, as if fearing any millisecond of exposure. Craig didn’t think twice about it, he was always weird.“Do you remember when we had pieces of paper on our costume? We were so stupid” This earned Craig a laugh“Haha no! That is not a ‘we’!” Craig continues to get dressed as he watches the other jerk and struggles to add the finishing touches to his costume. “When I joined and was trying to figure this out you-you just agh- You just slapped on me a piece of paper and said I'm good to go!” This time Craig laughs reliving the memory of that day
Everyone is hanging around the base quite frankly not doing much of anything. Eric and Kyle are arguing off in the middle of the room, a pretty frequent occurrence, there was even a tally on the board about it. Stan, Craig, and Clyde are sitting around the table playing a game of cards. Jimmy and Token are watching some comedy movies. Everyone was just excited to be there. They were recently established as a superhero team, and now they officially had a base, although it was more unofficially a hangout spot. Mysterion walks in earning a greeting from most of them. But behind him was someone else. Eric was the first to comment. He usually is.

“Hey, hey hey! Who the fuck is that!”

“Everyone, this is Wonder Tweek. He’s going to be joining us”

“Hey!! You cannot let just anyone into Coon and Friends without my permission!”

“It’s not your group fatass!” Kyle quickly corrects before looking at the newcomer. “Hey Tweek right, you go to our school we’ve seen some of the stuff you’ve been doing around the city. It’s good work, you'll be great here.”

“Agh! Thanks!” Tweek says quickly his movements are frantic. The eyes on him. All of them. “Ah this is way too much pressure” He mutters more to himself but it can faintly be heard. A few more welcomes from the team are heard. They already knew who he was. It kept showing up on the news. A new superhero had appeared that was ‘striking’ down criminals. The corny play on words was often used due to the new hero's power to control electricity. Although he didn’t take down anyone big, the efforts were clear. They talked of bringing him in before but Cartman may have just coincidentally not been there that day.

“Craig will show you around.”

“Huh, what? Me?” Craig looked down at his cards. A bad beat. He did not have the money to lose either. So he threw his cards face down and got up. “Me! Yea of course!” Stan and Clyde exchange snarky remarks about being scared to play but they were ignored. Craig walks up to the newcomer and goes to shake his hand. He’s seen him before but not like this. “Hey, welcome to the team.” Tweek shakes his hand. Hard grip, one that caused Craig to jump not from pain but from surprise. They were also very sweaty, the guy was nervous. He twitches and jerks his arm away. Craig shot him a weird look. Regardless he showed him around, introduced him to the others then took him into the equipment room. “And here’s where we put all of our equipment”

“Wow…”

“Yeah, I know it is kind of cool I guess. You can put your costume and stuff in here”

“I, I don't have a costume…”

“Oh.” Craig looked around. He saw on the table an open notebook with a pen lying on top. The only things written were some coordinates and a list of supplies. As he walks over he can feel eyes on him. He flips to a new page and begins to write. ‘W T’ He rips the page out and grabs some tape to put across the top. Once it was ready he walked back to the new boy and attached his paper to the front of his shirt. “Here this is all you need, trust me.” He smiles at the other and for the first time since he’s ever seen the boy he sees his eyes. They were like nothing he had ever seen before. As if the waves of the ocean were crashing down onto the beach. His eyes were blue and faded into a yellow. It was as if all you had to do was shake him so they could mix and turn green. Which was quite ironic considering the boy was constantly moving.

“Oh, thanks! Are you sure…” Tweeks question faded away “What? What! Oh god! Is there something on my face!” Craig laughed and shook his head no

“No dude, nothing.”
The memory faded away from Craig's mind as they finished getting ready and exited the base. A bank robbery wasn’t something they were that worried about, it was an issue they had become accustomed to. Child’s play. But regardless, with the shit that had continued to come at them today, they were not taking any chances. The location wasn’t too far away either which was perfect so they can just get it over with.“What the… Not again.” Craig parks his car in front of the bank. The police had begun to arrive. And there he was. The captain was talking to an egregiously loud boy wearing a long fluffy mask that covered basically the top half of his face. Ridiculous little ears, a tail, and of course his signature red cape. “Is he just sitting waiting for anything to happen?” The two get out of the car and approach their former team members.“Super Craig, Wonder Tweek exactly who I wanted to see. Excuse me, officer, these underlings need to speak with me.” The captain walked away leaving the three of them alone. “What are you two doing, as you can see I already have this covered.” He explains to them gesturing to the officers while suspiciously eyeing Tweek.“Oh really. Where’s the bad guy?” Craig questions. Typically the police would’ve just arrested the guy and been gone by then so this just seemed odd. To add on he didn’t trust Cartman in the first place. He watched as Cartman reached into his pocket to search for something.“Well, Craig, for your information he got away. And it was not my fault some stupid hoe got in my way and I couldn’t get around her”“Yes of course you didn’t fatass. The robbery barely got called in and you already let him go away.”“No, I didn’t!!” He yells in the same agitated grating voice“What are you doing!!” Tweek is the one yelling this time. He looks frantic as if he is the one about to get arrested. Craig quickly looks over and sees the thick pad of money Eric is trying to flash at Tweek from his pocket. Although it was quickly shoved back in it was too late.“Cartman, did you take that from the bank?!” Craig whisper-yelled trying not to draw any more unwanted attention. “And why are you trying to show it off to Tweek??”“Who’s Cartman, I am THE COON. This has nothing to do with you, Craig. Listen Tweek dude I’m sorry for calling you out in front of everyone and exposing you for who you are. But I am just a protector of the city! It’s what I do. There is a lot more where this came from so you can leave me alone, this is all I can do!” Eric reasons with Tweek, who looks completely baffled by the statements coming out of the other's mouth.“Wait. The professor? Money?” Craig’s eyes widened with realization. “You got the tape. How do you know about that? Wait, since when do you care about someone else’s life?”“Okay first off I am the city's hero of course I care about people's lives.” Eric crosses his arms as if this is clear information. “And of course, I know about the fucking tape it was addressed to me! Personally!”“You have to come with us. We have to see the tape.”“Woah. Oh hell no. You can’t make me do what you want. It’s my tape. My property. Do you think I’m just gonna listen and come help a team that turned its back on me? If the professor over here won’t take my money in front of his gay ass boyfriend for his little act that's fineee by me. I got the money either way!” His hands go up as if to say that he’s innocent in all of this. The brown-haired antihero directs his attention to Tweek and leans into a whisper. “Tonight, at the party we can settle our exchange.” He backs up and throws his cape around him “The Coon OUT!” With that exclamation, he throws a smoke bomb down and escapes. Although not that far they see him turn into the alley beside the bank trying to run.“AGHH I am not the professor!!!” Tweek yells earning several looks toward the two. He begins to wrap his hands around his hair not wanting to deal with this again. But before he can begin his nervous habit of pulling at his hair, a firm strong grip wraps around his arm. Craig slowly brings his arm back down“It’s fine Tweek relax. Come on, let's go back and tell the others what we found.” Tweek nodded in agreement and followed Craig back to the carUpon return to the base, they were quick to inform the others what happened. Cartman receiving the same tape as them was strange enough. What did the professor want from him? What does he want from any of them? How are they even supposed to begin cooperating with their former team member? The questions couldn't grow and circulate them. The amount of impending pressure made it difficult to even breathe in the room. Before they knew it, it was 7 pm. Everyone gathered their things and made their way out to begin getting ready for this so-called party. They all made arrangements of who would go with who and how the night to go. Now that they had this information about Eric they planned to keep an eye on him. They decided to have Tweek go with the idea that he is Professor Chaos so that they could get more information.8:24 PM. They were going to be late. Craig groaned and tilted his back against the headrest. He glances at the red-brown house on the left. Sure, fashionably late is one thing it's another when a girl’s life is on the line. They have to make sure every detail counts. Finally, he sees the front door open and the blond-haired boy walks out. Tweek and he had agreed to go together on their way out earlier. He looks the boy up and down. Brown cargo pants, ones that were relatively baggy on the boy’s stature. The green button-up shirt remained the same but it was opened with a white, tight-fitted shirt to pull the look together. Craig didn’t know Tweek could dress like this. Sure he’s never seen him go to a party but he didn’t imagine this. Wait. Craig shakes his head completely baffled by his own thought process. Finally snapping out of it when he hears the car passenger door unlocked.“Sorry I got distracted getting ready” Tweek apologizes quickly as he fumbles with his seatbelt.“Oh! It’s no problem! Um, we're not that late anyways I’m sure the other guys are there anyway.” Craig quickly shifts the car into drive and begins to make his way into the party. He’s been to parties countless times so why is he starting to feel nervous? It was fine, it didn't matter there was a mission to focus on. Eventually, they arrive at the house. It looked to be filled to the brim with people already. Craig parked the car further down the street just in case anything was to go down. The two get out and begin walking towards the house. They walk in silence as the cold air brushes against them. Craig suddenly is glad he wore his navy pullover over his white shirt. Finally, they get to the front door. The music can be heard clearly before even opening the door. It’s Wendy that opens the door for the two to come in. Upon walking in it was like feeling the beat of the songs in their bones. The stench of alcohol is clear in the air. For a party that had invites sent just earlier that day, this was an insane amount of people. A couple is making out on the stairwell, several people making out on the living room couch, and a group playing beer pong on the kitchen island. Then everyone else was found somewhere in between.“Okay I’m gonna go around and see what anyone knows or if anyone’s even seen Bebe. You should go do the same and I’ll meet up with you later.” Craig instructs the boy beside him“W-what??” Tweek looks up at Craig. He can see a sense of fear in his eyes. In an attempt to comfort him, Craig places a hand on Tweek’s shoulder“You can do this. We have to focus alright” He reassures the shorter boy. Craig may have had some selfish reasons for wanting to get rid of Tweek. Maybe he felt a little bad but fuck it he didn’t care. Part of him needed just a distraction from everything. He smiles at Tweek and leads him into the kitchen. Out of the corner of his eye, he can see the nervous boy fiddling with the edges of his shirt. Craig puts a bright red cup into his hands. “I got you. This’ll make the night go down easier.” He pours himself his own drink and chugs it down like he hasn't had anything to drink in weeks. The cup in Tweek’s hand practically rattles as it comes up to his lips and he takes his sip. Then another. Tweeks grip on the cup begins to crush it as he tries to drink the beverage. “Woah woah Tweek.” Craig takes the cup away from him as he watches Tweek heave trying to keep down the alcohol. “You never had a drink before or something?”Tweek looks at Craig from the corner of his eyes, a look of pain and possible embarrassment and just looks back at the ground, trying to focus on what compelled him to do that. He’s never been a person to give in to peer pressure before. Nor has he ever had any compelling feeling to even drink. He hears Craig trying to reassure him and laughing. Which for some reason only agitated Tweek. And so forced by spite he grabs the drink and forces it down his throat. This causes him to lean against the counter, hand over his mouth. A look of shock, concern, and impression flashes across Craig’s face.“Tweek, what the hell. You didn’t have to do that! You never even had anything before take it one sip at a time!”“Why! Why does it taste like that!” Tweek looked repulsed which caused Craig to burst into laughter.“Okay well, it was just beer. I don't think it’ll be too bad. It’ll lighten you up. Now come on, we have work to do.” Before hearing a single complaint or protest from the other Craig walked past him and went to scope out the area. Sometimes he wasn’t sure why he came to parties. They weren't the most amazing hype social outing that they were made to be in the movie. It was obnoxiously loud music, the stench of alcohol and sweat, the sound of skin against skin. If it wasn’t for the alcohol this would be terribly overstimulating. He talks with a few people he's recognized before, from school, even those from other towns that typically show up to these things. Sometimes it felt as if he was just circling the lower level and continuously stopping at the kitchen for a refill. Craig shakes his head trying to get himself to focus. Then against the backdoor stands a Wendy Testaburger. Her arms are crossed across her chest, a drink hanging off her fingertips, a far-off look in her eyes, her lips sealed tightly as if there is a storm brewing inside of her that she is terrified of coming out. While the girl is typically distressed over one topic or another this seemed different, and Craig had a feeling this had to do with their missing friend.“Hey Wendy, what's up?”“Hey Craig...” Her sentence trails off eyeing the taller boy suspiciously“Woah don’t shoot me for checking up on you” Craig chuckled as he swirls the red cup in his hand before taking another sip. “Just seem in your thoughts is all”“It’s nothing.” She pauses a clear hesitancy in her actions. “Craig, have you seen Bebe while you were here?”Craig shook his head, no, and she only sighs in response.“Yea no one has. I talked to Stan to try looking for her here but I don’t know if something is off.”“What do you mean?” Craig pries further into her“Usually Bebe prepares way ahead if she is going to have a party. Or we would get ready together if it was a last-minute one.” Her eyes trail across the room as if she were imagining Bebe walking in front of her where she should be. “But she hasn’t answered any of my texts. I mean yeah she was having an off day but this isn’t like her to shut me out.”“Off day?”“I shouldn’t be telling you this.” She lifts her cup to her lips and forces the rest of the cup down. “She got into a fight last night. A bad one. And it happens but… She was acting so weird all day. She kept checking her phone and leaving to go do who knows what. And then the first time I heard about this party was through a copy-and-paste text that every other person got. To top it all off… I don’t think a single person here has seen her. Isn’t that weird?? How did this get so big so fast… it’s all too weird”Craig nodded his head in understanding. Something seems to have been going on before this all happened. Maybe she was being blackmailed and that’s how she ended up here. What details were they missing?“Don’t worry Wendy, we’ll find her try not to let it get to you” Craig smiled at her but it was only weakly reciprocated. The smell of smoke in the house was starting to make him feel trapped so he said his goodbyes to Wendy and went out the door behind her. The cold air abruptly hits his face but he takes it in full welcome. He takes a deep breath savoring every second of the fresh air. Around the yard are red solo cups just thrown around the yard. This reminded Craig to look down at his own cup. Empty. He frowned and put it down on the back porch lining. The intoxication was starting to build up within him. He goes to turn the corner around the back of the house but just as he is about to take the turn he pauses. The sound of light laughter fills the air. A sense of tension emanating from around that corner. Craig peeks over and he has the urge to even audibly gasp. There he was, his friend still dressed in the ridiculously bright orange outfit leaning against the wall. Smoke was coming out of his mouth and from his hand. The smell of weed was drawing near to him. But right in front of him was another. A short boy with blond hair, wearing a baby blue sweater, smiling brightly at the other. He would’ve never thought for a second to see these two so close. But just as he was beginning to take in the scene it was over. Butters made eye contact with Craig and he watched the redness paint across his face. The blond boy quickly whispered something to Kenny and rushed off, causing Kenny to look over with scorn on his face to who was disrupting him. However that look faded away as he saw Craig walking over“Hey.”“Hey,” Craig replied, holding his hand out as if expecting retribution for what he said. Kenny knew what he really wanted so he placed a cigarette in the other hand that was soon lit. “So… you and Butters becoming close?”“Shut up or I am not hooking you up anymore”“I’m not judging! Just didn’t think you were that close of friends” Craig took a long drag as he watched Kenny. A look of longing was painted across his eyes. But Craig was sure it was the weed affecting him. Then Kenny began to laugh“I know you’re not” A devious smile was strewn across his face“What? What’s that supposed to mean?”“Oh nothing, just noticed you suddenly got so close to your friend Tweek” This caused Craig to form a look of confusion, and was just frankly appalled. Kenny interlaced his fingers together and brought it up to his face, and batting his eyelashes at Craig “Oh Tweek let me take care of you from the big bad fat man. I’ll be the one to start taking care of you.” Craig partially wanted to be repulsed at what was being insinuated“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Tweek is a good guy and a good friend, sure it took me a minute to warm up to him but.” Another laugh from Kenny.“That’s not-” Just then they paused their conversation as they overheard another two voices appear, by the backdoor. Instantly recognizable it was Cartman and Tweek. Craig shot Kenny a look to stay quiet, there were big stakes at risk here. Kenny followed Craig's lead back to the corner of the house right before opening to the backyard, close enough to listen. Craig tries to warn the others he shouldn’t be here but Kenny was never one to really care what people told him to do.“Ah- Are you sure this where you want to do this?” Tweek nervously scratches at his arm following behind Cartman who looked around to ensure they were alone. With every step forward the growing feeling of nausea was intensified, the alcohol in his system didn’t help with his disorientation either. His eyes flicker to what felt like every blade of grass in the yard“Yes. Yes, this will do just fine” He nodded assessing their surroundings. Then he reaches into his pocket and pulls out two rectangles wrapped in white, a gold and white band surrounding each. “20 thousand dollars. Yea it's a little short of 25 but cut me some slack I had to go through a lot to get this” Tweek nods and takes the money. The two around the corner exchange glances in complete shock of the exchange occurring before them. Was Cartman right? How could Tweek possibly come to this? The weight of the money in his hands is like nothing he ever held before. Quickly he shoved it into his pockets, a fear of someone watching from anywhere eating at him. “50. It was to be 50k.” Tweek reminds him, but his voice is weak. Usually, he was a great actor, but it was although all his abilities of coordination were failing. Wasn’t alcohol supposed to make you more confident? He puts his hands at his sides clenching his fists. The cold breeze of the night swirled through the air but Tweek never felt warmer. A sick swirling feeling was growing in his stomach “Y-you don’t want a girl's life at stake do you?” His voice cracks as he tries to seize control of the situation“A girl? What the fuck are you talking about dude?”“Well, you, you know, Bebe?”“The fuck? Then why the hell are we here at her party” Cartman questions but just for a moment a flicker of something more sinister dashed through his eyes“Agh that's the point! How do you not know!” Tweek’s voice begins to raise frustration evident within him. Craig looked over at Kenny and whispered for him to go and that he shouldn’t see this. Kenny nodded knowing his place to not get involved in this superhero business.“Okay! Okay! My apologies Mr. Professor Gosh” Cartman rolled his eyes but a set of seriousness began to level in them. A new cold edge was brought to his tone “I did possibly hear about Bebe’s disappearance.” He watches as the smaller boy’s eyes are unable to meet his, causing a small smirk to grow on his lips. Cartman begins to circle him, like a hawk around his prey “In two weeks time a girl is going to die. If you don’t get your shit together her life is in your hands, isn’t it. You’ve never done violent crimes before. Why now? You need me. You need those stupid heroes. The key. Oh you’re after something”“2 weeks??!” Tweek began to pace, stumbling over the uneven grass, desperate for any stability. His heart rate was beginning to rise. He shook his head and his hand gripped into his palm as he tried to maintain composure. This wasn’t the time for him to falter. He forces the words to come out of his mouth“I-don’t know what you mean. It’s you who needs me. I'm Professor Chaos and you dare to- to undermine me!” There was a pause in Cartman’s movements, eyeing the boy up and down. “I’m the one pulling the strings here. I’m the one that got that tape in your hands in the first place. You’re a pawn in my game”Cartman stops behind Tweek and wraps his arm around him. Within his hands, he could feel the boy begin to tremble. A sick sense of satisfaction was drawn within him In a lower voice he began to whisper. “I know who you really are Tweek.” A shiver runs down his spine. The smaller boy tries to pull away from him. The way his heart pounds in his chest feels like it is going to be ripped out of him. “You’re going to help me with what I want won’t you?” Tweek begins to form the response of disagreement but the words never get to escape his lips “Or Bebe won’t be the last”Blood starts to seep into Tweek’s fingernails from the amount of pressure he applies. But still, it doesn’t suffice. The unbearable weight of the night sky weighs him down. His breathing becomes rapid but scarce. “I-I… I’ll do it” His voice barely comes above a whisper but the other is so close it was more than enough. A sick smirk remains clear as day on Cartman's face. He cups the shorter’s face in his hand a fierce grip holding it in place. A sense of pleasure he got watching the blood drain from his face.“Good boy.”
