Heavens be damned if Rose knew what her father's servant was babbling about, again.
"He specifically told you to stay away from Hemomancy! It's the fifth time this week he finds you to be practicing something he strictly forbade you. Do you want to be exiled? You'd be giving your old man a heart attack if it was still beating," Sighed the assistant, making her take a deep breath in turn. "You have to stop trying to become a full vampire. You're already half-blood, he's just trying to protect you."
"What my father desires is not of importance, Sebas. He has already been exiled from Wallachia before and crawled to Italy in a desperate attempt to get away from his Patriarch... or was it Matriarch? Shouldn't have been attempting an excorcism when that was still so taboo," she hummed, rolling her blue eyes in exhasperation, while her brown hair- with a single blonde streak -was gently moved by the wind outside, covering her right eye.
The assistant, a tall, slender man named Sebastiano, could only watch in resignation as she stepped up and walked out of the room, Bible in hand, frustrated by the constrictions imposed upon by her Father.
"Return before the sun rises!" He called out, silently praying she'd come back safe.
Churches were not places where vampires should go to, much less should it be done when a priest was present.
"Ah! Rose, what a pleasure to find you here!" chimed Father Marco, "how have your daily prayers been doing."
"They're... fine..." she grumbled, knowing full well she wasn't exactly following his teachings to the letter; blind faith was never something she could stand by, and Marco's unwavering faith always made her question if she could truly be a woman of faith herself: after all, vampires were not creatures born of God's hand.
"Father, I wanted to-" before she could continue, shattering glass interrupted their conversation.
A clawed, hooved figure stepped on the marble floor, as the priest held up his cross.
"You shouldn't be here! This is holy ground! In the name of God, I banish you!" Declared the priest, only for nothing to happen.
The demon chuckled, his feathered tail swishing playfully as his wings softly stretched. "You have... an interesting guest, Father..." spoke the demon, "I have no quips with you, half-blood. Leave the church, what happens with me and him is not of your concern."
Her eyes widened when she felt the wave of energy coming from the demon; this was no ordinary fiend, nor any minor devil she could take care of with a cross and prayers.
"...I'm sorry Father..." she whispered, running out of the church.
She could only imagine what Marco must've done for God to let a demon crawl into a sanctuary like this.
...
She caught her breath when she came to a stop, pulling up her phone to browse the usual sites frequented by her kind.
'BREAKING NEWS!', one of the digital newspapers cried out, 'WEREWOLVES ACCUSE VAMPIRES OF ATTEMPTED EXTERMINATION OF LYCANTHROPES!'
She reeled as she read the news, as this meant only one thing.
A new Nocturnalis would be starting, and she had no way to properly defend herself from both sides.
