Everything in this world is in perpetual motion. Seasons come and go, the sun sets and rises, but the portent of our decisions with the consequences therein always finds a way to change us. Thin though these invisible strings are, the web we weave wraps around and bind us together until we have no choice but to stop moving.
Notice of TerminationLucifer never lived life frivolously. He came from wealth. If he had a need, it was dutifully fulfilled by the legion of teachers, tutors and chefs. If he had a want, it was personally obtained through money, tenacity and the beds of his past omega lovers. But he never lived his life frivolously. He didn’t want for much and it was his self control that defined him and made him the perfect alpha son.He was top of his class throughout his schooling years. His background had little say in the grants of his numerous meritocratic scholarships (which he politely declined). He was the favorite of teachers but even their considerations paled in what he could achieve for himself. He made friends, had little enemies, and he moved on. Life was a series of checkboxes and he had a good pen. After that, he obtained an executive position with his father’s company. His father was an eccentric man and obfuscated the dealings of his business operations with strict hierarchies. “If you don’t need to know, then you don’t need to know.” The man was fond of tautology. Each department was strictly controlled and would only report to him. Teamwork was encouraged on a comparatively microscopic level. Each process was documented heavily and if anyone even deviated by one point on the map then they were subject to punishment. It kept the company from dissolving in the worst of times and trounced all competition in the best of times.Whatever his father did with the company, the man also did at home. He had a perfect life by the standards of society, but he hid his extra relationships almost as well as he hid his suppliers. He was a monopoly unto himself and everyone beneath him was departmentally segregated, never knowing about the others… until they knew. And suddenly it seemed like the company had more employees than they had chairs.Lucifer was the first son, but by the time he was ten, he learned that he had brothers other than Michael. Satan was the only alpha of the bunch. Mammon, Leviathan and Asmodeus were omegas. Beelzebub and Belphegor were betas. They were a rowdy bunch, but that was to be expected since they were children of extra-marital unions and never needed to live up to their father’s demands or suffer the worst of his temper.Lucifer always took care of his brothers. It wasn’t their fault for being tenuously connected to the family, for being extraneous in their father’s eyes, even for how chaotic they can be. It was all in search of the attention that they never got, Lucifer presumed, so he took it upon himself to give them as much attention as he thought they needed (a lot of it). That care extended from home to work. But no matter how well-planned a life is, there will always be the threat of change. It only took one day before the jaws snapped shut over Lucifer and his brethren. His termination was unfounded. His brother’s terminations were vindictive. All this audacity and his father couldn't even bother to make it categorically above reproach. Doubtless that a court of law would survey the situation in a favorable light, but it was one thing to drag everyone into a legal battle and a whole other entirely to drag them all into the public spotlight, which is what would happen if he fought his father with a lawsuit, to which his only right would be a position back at the company under his father’s thumb... a right that definitely did not extend to his brothers.No. Lucifer wasn’t naïve.It was enough for his father to lose the best heir any industrial goliath could ever hope to produce and that was the only satisfaction that he could take, even as Michael had taken his place.A prodigious son is never without options.Though his father had taken many actions against him and all but ripped away the strings that held him up, Lucifer was still fiercely protective of his siblings and would move heaven and earth to make sure they all lived comfortable and fulfilling lives, even if he had to crawl into hell and bow his head to the proverbial devil. And this included going to one of their competitors, one he had met years ago. He called this man an old friend.Work conferences were considered necessities in the business world. In its most complicated form, they were advertised and operated as a kind of business nexus, a place where the brightest of minds from every industry would gather and rub their minds together on the best ways to generate capital; however, the reality is that it was simply a place to trade favor for favor, a marketplace in its own right where industry titans sent their soldiers to pick through their competitor’s best and maybe come away with an edge.Lucifer was no stranger to such things. He had been raised in the forgotten corners of boardrooms with their ostentatiously patterned carpets and bright lights that revealed every line on any charlatan's face. He had always been good at reading people and understanding the nuances of power. Society demanded that of him and so did his father.”I’m pleased to finally meet you.” The smooth and cheery voice broke the stale air of the convention center.Lucifer cleared his throat and returned the polite greeting. “Nice to meet you… Diavolo, was it?” Diavolo, the heir and COO of Three Legged Crow Industries. Lucifer knew who he was already, having read the ins-and-outs of the competition from his father’s dossiers, but it made sense to make someone’s acquaintance the normal way.”It’s been a while since I’ve come to one of these!” Diavolo laughed boisterously. “I usually send my assistants, but I made Barbatos take a day off - actually, forced - and this didn’t line up with Mephistopheles schedule - they’re definitely well-versed compared to me. I almost got lost-” Diavolo prattled on and Lucifer let him. The man was tall and wore a simple suit- a suit that hid its true origins as something from the vaults of the best bespoke tailors- with matching monochromatic body and a pop of dark red in the tie and a long overcoat thrown almost casually over the man’s broad shoulders. There was no question that this man was an alpha. He held himself well. “I was actually hoping to run into you-“”Oh?” Lucifer tilted his head playfully and smirked, inviting Diavolo to divulge as much information as possible. “Me too.” He lied. “Is there a particular reason you wanted to see me?””I am the keynote speaker for today’s main event- oh, sorry-“ Diavolo’s bright eyes sparkled underneath his mop of auburn hair. He didn’t quite answer the question. “I’m sure you already knew that.””Of course. Who would go to a conference without at least reading the schedule?” Lucifer sighed internally. It was one of these, was it? Alphas always felt the need to brag and posture. It was the most annoying thing about society. Though the repartee came naturally to him and the conversation bounced back and forth like a melody, he wasn’t feeling it. His father had sent him on a grunt mission and his gaggle of troublesome half-brothers were probably living up to their roles and causing chaos back at headquarters so half his mind was on them; however, in the process of showing a good face, Lucifer found himself having coffee with Diavolo- it wasn’t good coffee by any means - just the standard convention fare. The soft paper cup looked comical in Diavolo’s large hands and broke the man’s intimidating silhouette.”I’m sorry to monopolize your time like this,” Diavolo laughed heartily. Lucifer saw people looking at them from the corner of his eyes. He rarely drew attention to himself since it was more tactical to remain understated, but Diavolo did not have a quiet bone in his body. “But truly, this has been very fun.””This is one of the more interesting events I’ve been to,” Lucifer replied, amused. “You can have the credit for that I suppose.” It was the truth. The smile that broke across Diavolo’s face was genuine and Lucifer became impressed. People usually showed their true selves the longer a meeting went on. Either Diavolo meant it or he was so good at deception that even Lucifer had to admit defeat. A worthy opponent. “With pleasure. I wanted to talk with you about the future-… I know- please hear me out.” Lucifer cleared his throat and glanced around. No distractions, in a corner with almost no people, holding drinks so there would be no excuse to get one- hmph. It was a perfect play. Lucifer looked back at Diavolo. “Go on then.” The good face remained. Surely, no one could go to a convention without hearing at least one pitch.”Celestial Reams has been our main competitor since before you and I even existed.” Diavolo took a small sip of his coffee. “I have a dream- where we exist at peace, working together-“Lucifer scoffed. “This is business, Diavolo. If you want peace, you will either buy the company or crush us. Anything else is nonsensical.””I know it’s unprecedented, but I would hope you would hear me out.” Diavolo’s boyish smile remained.Lucifer was automatically defensive. There was almost never any need to seek anyone out by name at a work event, especially not someone he had never met, and especially not the direct competition, but here was Diavolo divulging pertinent business information to his competitor. It was strategically incomprehensible. But also... compelling.“So, do we have ourselves a deal?”Lucifer shifted back to the present. Now Lucifer was at the mercy of another man; another alpha CEO to be exact. He dug his fingernails into the vintage glass in his hands and coughed lightly to stop the growl that was bubbling up in his throat. There was no time to question his own decisions. Diavolo had extended grace and he knew more than enough to accept it.Diavolo's Executive Assistant slid a stack of papers closer to him in one smooth motion. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up on ends as he glanced up to see Diavolo's eager expression. That overly friendly smile was the pleasure of a devil. Old friend.Lucifer knew better than to trust it. In this world, he couldn't afford to be naïve.Without another word, Lucifer picked up a pen between firm fingers and pledged his allegiance to secure a future for himself and his six brothers. He gave a sharp smile back, one that would tell any beholder that they could let their guard down because any issue would be handled with absolute competence. But even as he shook that extended hand there was something dormant within him, trained into him by a lifetime of nurture, that wanted to reject the young heir.
Alphas depend on no one.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It was quiet in the CEO’s office.Diavolo leaned back in his chair and stared up at the ceiling. The pure white tile served to calm his busy mind. Overviews of operations, suppliers, market trends, reports reports reports. He hated this aspect of his work, but both his COO Lucifer and Executive Assistant Barbatos insisted that anything of utmost importance lay in the contents of these letter-size paper stacks and it was their opinions that he held most dear. It was necessary, he knew that, but still so cruel. Unfortunately he could not delegate this to anyone else; he was the end of the line and he needed to parse the information into bite-size pieces for the board since their attention spans were worse than his own. Diavolo felt ill-prepared to run the company, but he tried. He cared for his employees. He knew them all by name. He personally felt that it was the sign of a good leader and the most crucial thing about his job to improve morale and make sure everyone’s needs were met, from the bottom to the top.Everyday, he would sweep through each department in the building and talk with everyone to see how they were, if they needed anything, only to be ushered back into his office by either Lucifer or Barbatos.
That's not what CEOs do.
It was only the promise of tea and sweets from Barbatos that moved the dial from hostage situation to pleasantry with his dear friend. They had met long ago when Diavolo was just a child. Sometimes Barbatos still treated him like one. His father had hired him as a tutor but he was so exceptional that he quickly moved from helping a kid with homework to helping run a multi-million dollar company. Still, they became fast friends and were inseparable.Diavolo was an only child. His father was always away and his mother died in childbirth. He never knew if his father tried again, but since he was so busy, it was doubtful there had been any time to find another mate.He had become his father’s COO after a time, but he wasn’t sure if it was because his father believed in him or if he was just a convenience. It was natural to pass things onto progeny after all, even more so if there was only one of him.Nonetheless, the years went by and the man grew old. It was rare for any obsessive CEO to step down, but he did, and the company became Diavolo’s to steer even though the board was indifferent. Maybe that was his way of saying he was proud of his son, but that question would never be answered. It seemed that he knew very little about the old man and his decisions.Still, Barbatos said he had been proud and there was nothing Diavolo trusted more than the word of his friend.Barbatos had been the only friend he had made for himself until by chance he finally met Lucifer at a random convention, which he only went to because he had last minute mandated that Barbatos take the day off and allow him to give the keynote address. His dear friend later lectured him for inconveniencing the convention staffers who had to change the schedules. The convention was oddly stressful. People moved so much quicker than what the physics of time and space would normally allow. Their personalities weren’t personable and their smiles weren't smiles. Many of them hardly cared for anything beyond how to get to the next phase of their [work] [life] [plan] and it made Diavolo feel like an interloper, a transient being playing pretend in the corporate arena. He felt all the more nervous for his keynote, because he was to set the tone of the convention and he trusted that no one of those he already met would be moved. And then he saw him. He had already known about Lucifer but he had never seen him in person before then. Diavolo found him in a miserable little corner carrying a furrowed brow and sighing every few seconds. It was life-changing. He had never seen someone so flawless in person. His eyes were the colour of velvet rose petals, his hair was dark like a raven’s feathers, and his svelte form was dressed in a neat understated suit with a solid blue tie. This mirage of a man was so tall, but he took himself down a few centimetres looking down at his phone which lit up incessantly. Whatever he saw then triggered a sigh and caused his elegant brow to furrow further. If Diavolo had never seen an alpha before, this man was it.
Lucifer Morningstar, in the flesh.
The meeting was such a blur, but Diavolo remembered the most important part of the day.“They’re important to me.” Lucifer had said this with such honesty about his brothers that it made Diavolo awe. “Whatever you’ve heard about them is just sensational garbage.”Lucifer was someone who cared. Lucifer was principled. Lucifer was fair. That was the impression Diavolo got and it never left him, even as the news cycle churned out story after story about the brother’s scandals, even years later as the news broke that Lucifer and his brothers had been disowned, even when Lucifer asked him for help.
Any position, Diavolo. Whatever you have.
With a clear head, Diavolo made Lucifer his new COO. He put Mammon in Business Expansion, Leviathan in IT and Digital Security, Asmodeus in Administration, Satan in Research and Development, Beelzebub in on-site catering and Belphegor in Maintenance… all these positions filled in each arm that needed a body, because in talking with the departments every day, he knew where the pain points were and believed that the strange bunch would fit right in.It made the news.
Three Legged Crow Industries takes on Celestial Reams Paper and Office co.
The news pumped up the stocks, the board was happy, but the relationship between the companies became toxic. Nonetheless, it would be something he would never regret.
“Diavolo, remember to look this over before the meeting tomorrow.”
“Diavolo, don’t miss lunch or you’ll make Barbatos cry.”
“Diavolo-“
It was important for Diavolo to be successful, because he wanted to protect the people in his care.
You care too much. You don’t deserve your position. You’re just a convenient body.
“Sir?” A firm voice broke through the veil.Diavolo shook his head and laughed, “Oh Barbatos, sorry I was lost in thought.”“I would caution you to find your way soon, sir. You have a meeting in five minutes.” “Of course, of course.”It had been a few months now since the brothers joined his company. The beginning was rough. It seemed like their company cultures were diametrically opposed. The brothers were jumpy and acted out. He remembered a time when Leviathan, the third brother, became overwhelmed and hid under a desk. Only Lucifer managed to coax him out then, but when he was at his peak, the company operated beyond even the world's largest tech giants. Satan was prone to destroying company property, but he worked harder than anyone in the entire department using knowledge that fell beyond the scope of any reasonable man. Belphegor camped out in the custodial closets, but would appear in random places to give insight so genius that it was hard to pin down what exactly he would be capable of if he applied himself. Beelzebub ate half of anything he would make, but Diavolo was especially fond of the man's giant puddings and how he looked after his brothers in a way that took the pressure off Lucifer.Asmodeus was interesting in a different way. He seemed to be the most emotionally stable of the brothers and did his job most consistently even though Mephistopheles complained about him often. Of course, it was hard to please Mephistopheles. Their families had been close and, even as children, Mephi had standards rivaling that of an emperor's. Perhaps putting Asmodeus directly under his Executive Secretariat's purview may have been a mistake. They were both omegas but sometimes the strain of society fed inequitable ideas, especially coming from those who were already at the top."That one is trouble," Mephistopheles had said. "He's sleeping with everyone in the office and it is certain to cause problems in the long run."But that wasn't what Diavolo noticed.“Whatever you’ve heard about them is just sensational garbage.”One of the first Diavolo-appointed hires was Solomon, a General Contractor ne freelancer who could do any role. The fox-faced man was prone to dip his pen in the company ink (with a body count of at least seventy, if Human Resources gossip was to be believed; quote "The man is a slut.") but he was one of the most competent workers and had the tenuous trust of Barbatos (that was more impressive than any resume, reputation be damned). Diavolo personally knew one of his rumored partners, Thirteen, who was head of R&D; people theorized that relationship wouldn't last long for many reasons - most of which was speculation that they were an alpha-alpha couple - but it had gone long enough that marriage seemed like the next step... until it wasn't. Maybe people felt bad for him and stopped talking about it, but whatever it was, Solomon the single man did his job and no one complained anymore. Then Asmodeus came into the picture. It seemed like it wasn't too long later that Solomon and Asmodeus started making eyes at each other. It felt like he was the only one to care even though the office was normally fussy over who slept with who and he didn't like to pass around unsubstantiated information. Still, it felt good to see the spark of love in person even though neither of them had said anything to him about it... yet.It wouldn't do to be kept in the dark, Diavolo mused. He didn't want to pry, but he felt like this information was important to confirm for himself. You're living vicariously, Barbatos would say about his tendency to indulge.Did Lucifer know?It was obvious, after all, and Lucifer was one of the most observant people Diavolo knew.Diavolo was sure the head of the house would be as ecstatic as he was. After all, Solomon was a good man and had more than enough to provide for and keep Asmodeus happy. What family head wouldn't be thrilled to have such a self-sufficient new member? And it was good to see Solomon fancy someone again after his break up."Sorry folks. Technical difficulties.""Five more minutes."It was coming up to the end of the first quarter. It would be important to raise morale before everybody became busy with the reporting period. Diavolo glanced over at his overfull calendar and smiled.
Valentine's Day!
"Everybody's in?""Yes. I'm going to share the screen.""This meeting will be recorded. The minute-taker is out sick today.""Sure."It was his opinion that having regularly scheduled events strengthened the team and having the departments intermingle led to weddings and honeymoons and maybe a child or two for him to spoil. After all, the office was his family."I'll be sending a link to your emails soon.""Do you have-""Yes, I will send it.""I'll also need a copy-""I'll send it."The last party had been for New Year's and that felt so long ago it might even have been last year. Valentine's was a day for partners and future-partners to show off and shower each other with affection... supposedly. He never had time to participate. Still, it was the perfect excuse for an office party and that was close enough. And perhaps… just maybe… Maybe he could even talk no-fun Lucifer into dancing. Diavolo was clear-headed after the meeting. It was sometimes hard to keep track of all the subjects that crossed his desk, especially when Mephistopheles wasn't around. Speaking of, he would have to set things in motion soon if he wanted high attendance. They all needed the pleasure of good company and a nice night out and Mephistopheles was the perfect person to handle all the details.Plus it would help the brothers ease further into their roles and contribute to the company culture.Diavolo paid close attention to their development because it was important for them to fit in, but also because he wanted to care for them like Lucifer did. Lucifer worried about them so much; it was clear that they were his entire world, so the least Diavolo felt he could do was to look out for them too and make sure-Diavolo caught himself. He knew that he was prone to overdoing things, but-
Why do I care do much?
In a moment of clarity, one the likes he had never before experienced - and behind the assurance of a locked office door - he let his mind wander; of course his mind often wandered, but he had never taken such a dangerous path before; still, he kept walking. He let Lucifer's warm hands feel under his suit and tear it open, and he did the same in return and then dressed Lucifer in kisses and rubbed his scent into him and-
“Diavolo-“
Oh.
“Back to your cubicle, please.”“A'ight, a'ight. I'm going. Geez.”Lucifer sighed.Working with family wasn't the most relaxing job, but it did give him the reassurance that he would be there to catch them if they did anything particularly foolish. If there was some higher power out there in the universe, it absolutely knew that the extra oversight was needed for the good of society and surreptitiously funneled his chaotic half-brothers into his care.Alphas always got too chummy with the three omegas. The papers loved to pick them up and advertise them as available bachelors looking for love and the ragtag bunch seemed to invite it through no fault of their own. It was the curse of their father haunting over them. Doubtless they would all have handled better if they weren't a convenient in for the nearest alpha dreaming of money.Even so, Mammon had the most trouble with money. He should have been the most responsible as the second oldest of them all, but that word didn’t even exist in Mammon's vocabulary. Unlike Lucifer, Mammon lived his life frivolously; a dollar wasn’t even earned before he spent it. Nonetheless, Lucifer had to admit that he was the most reliable, especially for an omega, even after the papers accused him of financial abuse, embezzlement and fraud.“Can I just grab my credit card from y-”“Mammon.”Lord knows where they would all be if not for the fortunate son Lucifer watching over them, even if they couldn't yet appreciate it.Mammon had slipped out of his door in a quick panic with Lucifer now hot on his heels, but instead of catching the troublesome younger brother, Lucifer met with a face full of paper hearts and his now sore shoulder that had connected hard with the beating edge of a steel ladder.Someone yelped unceremoniously. “Do you have to be such a brute?” Lucifer rid himself of the tangled mess and looked up at Diavolo's Executive Secretariat white-knuckling the ladder. That title was bigger than the man himself even with those white-heeled boots. Lucifer was certain that Diavolo and Mephistopheles had slept together once upon a time. Omegas tended to get jealous easily especially when their alphas were concerned and Lucifer often felt the burning crusade from him. Still, alphas were no better. The only thing surprising about the arrangement was that Diavolo never let his façade break.“Perhaps you shouldn’t be above my office then- what is this?” Lucifer raised his arm to adjust the cuff of his sleeve as the Mephistopheles huffed. "Or, is it that, like Mammon, you are also slacking on your work, hm?”Mephistopheles gasped and shot up from where he gripped the ladder. It was overdramatic, but perhaps that was just a trait of omegas. Lucifer was used to it from the three he already oversaw and Mephistopheles would be no exception. He found him to be a shrill and a groveling mess who often went belly-up in agreement to appease his superiors (except Lucifer). “How dare you!” It was funny listening to the omega scuttle down the ladder and then go almost chest to chest with him, but less amusing to be jabbed in the chest with a bony finger. “I will have you know that Mister Diavolo asked me personally to decorate the office!”"For what reason?" Lucifer became wary.“He believes that celebrating Valentine’s Day would be wonderful for morale and I wholeheartedly agree.” "If by ‘wonderful morale’ Diavolo wants to inspire frivolous and inappropriate fraternization between his employees, then that is certainly what will happen.""Don’t you dare badmouth him!" "I did no such thing."“He has planned a party for the end of the week.” "He told me nothing of the sort." Lucifer was dismayed. Hadn't there been a New Year's party just a week ago? Where did the time go?Mephistopheles moved in closer with a rather smug expression on his face. “Attendance will be mandatory,” his voice dripped with pleasure. “But you understand, don’t you?”“Of course, crystal.” Lucifer pushed past him. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have important matters to attend to.”As he walked away, he paid no mind to the semi-crumpled hearts that adorned the floor.Gone were the days of peace. It wasn't as if his father's company was relaxing, but they never had parties. It was considered a distraction and a waste of time and money. He would have to find Diavolo and discuss his concerns with him today before any real plans were set in stone and money exchanged hands; it was one thing to decorate the office, but booking a venue, food, drinks, and inviting people took precious time from work. Everyone needed to focus (and he didn't want his brothers to take the cue). Hopefully their CEO wasn't running around and playing hopscotch with each of the departments like he usually did. Lucifer didn't expect life to be easy, but it would make a difference if he could pin him down in one place.Unfortunately Diavolo's office probably wouldn't be that spot-“Marvelous!” -but now he had a pretty good idea where he was.“Gorgeous as always, Asmodeus,” Diavolo grinned. Lucifer frowned. His hand was too close on the back of Asmo's chair for his liking. Lucifer watched as he leaned in closer and Asmo let out a delighted laugh. "The colour you chose suits the theme wonderfully."“Sir, please, you're too kind,” Asmo purred back, and of course, he leaned right into the attention. The tarnished reputations of all of his siblings preceded them, and they all played into in their own ways.
Asmodeus seduced all the alphas in the office on the clock and when he was done with work he booked private rooms in exclusive clubs with daddy's money and kept going. What a shameful omega.
Tabloids loved Asmo. Even if the fifth brother was the most chaste of them all, it wouldn't make a difference in all the attention he got from alphas attracted to the lure of the easy non-committal sex advertised in the papers. Out of all of his siblings, the way Asmo interacted with people kept Lucifer up at night with worry. The youngest omega didn't seem to comprehend the dangers that came with being intimate with alphas. Lucifer did his best to shield him from that, but even in a new company with new co-workers and different expectations, everyone still threw themselves at him. All except one. Solomon, the company's jack-of-all-trades, the alpha whom Diavolo insisted could do anything and everything they needed, didn't pay Asmo any mind. It was a welcome surprise. Lucifer knew Solomon's type; non-committal and constantly on the move for frivolous short term pleasure. His ex Thirteen still worked in the office, and the fact that she was an alpha only confirmed what he knew to be true; Solomon would sleep with anyone."An alpha couple could always work, but you have to choose to be together more than any other couple," she'd said to a doe-eyed omega at a company outing. She swirled whatever concoction of poison she had in her glass. "Fortunately, I decided that Solomon wasn't that alpha.”He wanted to think better of Diavolo, he really did, but at the end of the day, he was subject to the same urges as the rest of them were, but unlike father, the man was unpredictable and did things on a whim. It would not surprise him one bit if he found out that every omega in the building had been in the CEOs bed. That's just how it goes and it was none of his business. All except one. Lucifer wasn't sure whether the drive was longing for romance or carnal pleasure, but he did know that anyone who wanted Asmodeus would have to go through him.Lucifer cleared his throat and attracted the attention of the pair before him. Diavolo's grin widened and he let go of Asmo's chair to greet him. Lucifer always noticed a twinkle in his eyes when Diavolo gave greetings. It was a disarming tactic used to have people lower their guard under the guise of some sort of bonding friendship. Lucifer knew it well, but of all the people he'd met in his life, Diavolo was the only one to never drop his face.If he didn't keep his wits about him, he would have given in to that warm feeling in his chest long ago.“Lucifer! Just the man I was looking for!” He clapped Lucifer on the back and pulled him into his side. Diavolo was an incredibly touchy man, and on more than one occasion Lucifer found himself reminding Diavolo of professionalism. But, of course, like with everyone in his life, his words fell on deaf ears.“What a coincidence, I was looking for you too,” Lucifer said, taking a step to the side to give himself more space, “We're having a Valentine's Party?”"Yes-"“I personally think it's a great idea!” Asmo chirped up. He wasn't looking at Lucifer, rather he was staring down at the desk and touching up his nails. “Valentine's Day is one of the best days of the year! It reminds people to cherish their loved ones and everything is pink and sexy. And all that chocolate? Yum!” “You shouldn't be doing your nails at your desk Asmodeus.”“I'm almost done.”“That's not the point.”Asmodeus took one last look at his work and finally looked back up at Lucifer. "But the orders came from the top... didn't it?" He flapped his hands in the air to help dry his wet polish. “I’ve been playing with ideas for the party! I want to look cute for this wonderful occasion after all, especially at such an upscale venue. And I'm sure the décor is bound to make anyone fall in love, right sir?”"Oh, I know so!" Diavolo laughed. "That's what the holiday is for right? Love?”“Oh, Luci! I bet even Levi could find someone to share allll his favorite lil' games with!”Diavolo hummed. “And what about you Asmodeus? Do you have someone in mind for yourself?” He let his arm slip from Lucifer's shoulders and went back to looming over Asmo in a way that made Lucifer bristle.Asmo snorted before throwing another look Lucifer's way before leaning conspiratorially close into Diavolo. “Not as long as he's listening. Let’s say I don't.”Diavolo leaned down closer.Lucifer heard enough. “Diavolo I need to speak to you about concerns I have over this activity,” he snapped.Diavolo faced him once more withconfusion plastered on his face. “Concerns? Lucifer, what do you mean?”Lucifer felt his eye twitch involuntarily. First Mammon, then Mephistopheles, and then this; annoyed was putting it mildly. How could he, in nicer terms, find the correct words to inform their dear CEO about the problematic behaviors that could potentially arise at such an event and in a way that Diavolo would understand?“For one; even though this is a company event, people behave completely different once you remove the framework of a workplace, correct? If there were issues, interpersonally, behaviorally- it can affect how people do their jobs."He was met with a blink.“So, knowing that there are crucial and critical items to take care of by the end of the quarter, do you not think it would be wiser to hold off on such things until after?"Asmo groaned and put his chin down on his desk. “Ugh, you can be such a fuddy duddy Luci! If we listened to you, the only party we'd ever get to have would be a funeral!”Diavolo laughed boiterously.Lucifer shot him a look. Come. Lucifer gestured away from the cubicle and did not utter another word. Diavolo understood of course. It had been a few months; new beginnings were always difficult but they were used to each other now. That meant this conversation would be a little easier to stomach since they should be on the same page.Diavolo merged easily into his lane and chatted. His voice was almost melodic. Lucifer had to admire him for his softness. Most alphas thought they had to posture and flex to advertise their superiority, but that made them too obvious and easy to read. This was untrue for Diavolo, but Lucifer could read him. He could read the danger rolling off the man in waves underneath that easygoing smile.“Lucifer?” Diavolo tilted his body forward to look at him as they walked, almost like a schoolgirl.Lucifer did not answer him and led him to his office. Mephistopheles’ crumpled valentine hearts were smoothed out and hung over the doorway in such a way that there was no choice but to be hit in the face with them. Travesties abound. Lucifer sighed as Diavolo took a heart off and smoothed it to put into his pocket. For what reason, Lucifer did not know. Probably another Diavolo-whim.Once the door closed, Lucifer broke his facade. “Diavolo, I understand that you must live your life as you see fit and I have no business interfering with your decisions outside of my duties here; however, I cannot allow you to pursue my brother.”Diavolo’s eyes widened and Lucifer could see how striking the gold was under his thick lashes. “Now what gave you that idea?”“I think you understand my capabilities quite well.”“I… do.” The mighty CEO looked lost.“You were close to Asmodeus. Too close.” Lucifer explained the obvious. “You repeatedly leaned in. I know when my brother flirts, Diavolo.”“Oh, that…” Diavolo floundered for a second but he regained his composure. “I assure you that it was nothing of the sort. I merely asked him some questions that I thought were relevant to the party.”“About his nail polish?” Something he shouldn't be doing at his desk regardless. Lucifer fanned his fingers out like a caricature of Asmodeus and watched Diavolo’s expression change to something more suitable for his face. “You’re free to do as you wish, for your company, for your personal life… but I hope you reconsider-"“Lucifer, please don’t misunderstand.” Lucifer sucked on his teeth and nodded. That's right. Diavolo treated him like an equal but they were still at work with all the expectations that came with it. “Okay Diavolo.” He walked around his desk and reined in his grievances. “I apologize for my outburst. I am grateful for my position at your side and for the opportunity to oversee the professional development of my brothers. I know I overstepped here, and I’m sorry-”“No.” Lucifer looked up. Diavolo had approached the desk and despite the space the slab of wood afforded between them, it seemed incredibly close. “No, you did not overstep.” His voice was soft; his eyes, gentle. “I know how hard you work and how much you care for them. That is one of the most beautiful things about you.”Lucifer found himself wordless. It wasn’t that those words were unbelievable, but he had seen how alphas acted when they wanted an omega; in fact, he had acted like that himself when he fancied people in the past. He saw it in all the suitors he has had to chase away from his brothers. His heart beat thickly in his chest against his logical mind. Pheromones.“Diavolo, what do you mean by…” Lucifer cleared his throat. “Now is not the time for jokes.”There was a long stretch of time where they both said nothing. Diavolo looked lost even as his scent took over the room. Even though it was obvious. Neither wanted to break the standstill because it was the last thing standing between them and the unknown. For two powerful people who took pride in their self control, nothing threatened them more than-“I’m attracted to you.” It was barely above a whisper. “That’s why… that’s why you have nothing to fear regarding your brothers… at least from me.”Lucifer felt like a truck had just hit him. Endless possibilities drowned his mind and overlapped him. Left to his own devices, he took his oft-beaten track; a single word that acted as a shield between him and the black ocean-“No.” Lucifer cut him off. It felt natural to say, having said those words all day, but it was foreign to feel even as he pushed Diavolo's phermones away with his own. No, what? No I don't want you or No, I don't know- No-Diavolo recoiled but regained his composure as if he suddenly realized where he was. His golden eyes lost their shine.“Right. I’m sorry for imposing myself. Please excuse me.”And that was that.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Lucifer spent the next few days frustrated. Diavolo had left after he said his piece and Lucifer had made a point to stick to work for the rest of the day. And then the next day. And then the next day. Yet the hours of paperwork did not numb his mind as well as he hoped because knowledge was too powerful of a thing and data points were suggestible things, even as he kept himself scarce for the benefit of his productivity.Lucifer was an alpha. It didn’t make sense.Diavolo… was attracted to him? Since when? Why?
Was Diavolo so easy and loose that he would sleep with anyone? Was that a proposition?
Not only was the question of Diavolo’s attraction at the top of his mind, but also the realization that he himself had not been with anyone for a long time. He took care of his father’s affairs both inside and out of the company and that left little time to sate his physical desires.Omegas fancied him as a matter of fact, and on the rare occasions when he had time to fancy one back, he would delight in their warmth. They weren’t all virgins. The experienced ones were his favourite because their sex often had a unique flavor; they wouldn’t shy away from wearing lace and silks and enjoyed when he pushed the sexy fabric aside to get to his prize; they would be playful and knew the angles to best display their features, whether cute or sexy. He loved sinking his cock into their shivering bodies, listening to them moan as they lost themselves in the feeling, feeling their slick drip down between them when they switched positions- sometimes they’d even leave their underwear on and he felt their wetness as they grinded on his cock- he loved it.The memories made Lucifer undeniably horny, but it felt wrong to masturbate to old thoughts; unfortunately, the lack of recent material made his mathematical mind inventive which rushed to make sense of the outlier fact of Diavolo’s attraction. It caught him off guard. What did Diavolo sound like as he fucked? What did his cock look like? And, most damningly, how do two alphas fuck? - as if he actually needed to know. The confusion precluded him from touching himself because it would be a tacit admission that he had let this get to him and it simply wasn’t in the books no matter how bored he was.Ergo… his frustration. He hated being caught off guard.Diavolo, for all his worth, kept himself scarce as well. Lucifer theorized that he was embarrassed by propositioning an alpha, but whatever it was that took the man from his sight, it dissatisfied him. Questions often begged for answers and Lucifer was no different than anyone else in the world, curious cats all tugging on loose strings, but his self control was one of his most prized assets. It made him angry that his internal metric was disturbed thusly. He jumped back and forth between performing a hard interrogation on Diavolo or shutting the door on the whole ordeal, before finally settling on the latter. The confession was just another Diavolo-whim. That single thought relaxed him enough to refocus on his work and finally let it go.
For good.
Diavolo had the habit of checking the calendar every day so he knew exactly how many had passed between the rejection and the present- two points in time sandwiching twenty three tasks. He was heartbroken of course. He had never faced a rejection like that in his life. He was an alpha son borne into a mighty legacy and, even though he understood completely that he had overstepped and embarrassed himself, he had to pull himself up by his pride.
Still.
It stung more than he thought it would. He hadn’t even steeped himself fully in his realization - that Lucifer is the sexiest being he had ever laid eyes on - before he went and squandered it.
Fool.
It happened so fast- the accusation, the defence, the revelation, the retreat- and usually he had his wits about him so this was even more embarrassing. Of course rejection was a possibility- Barbatos kindly attempted to remind him of it after the fact- but there had been so much hope in his heart from the casual touching, from the everyday banter, from years of commiseration- that it seemed like a given that Lucifer would want him too- and it was only after he left the room, chased out by Lucifer’s defences , that the rose-colored veil fell from his head and he realized who he was and who they were.It felt fair to move on, and he certainly didn’t want Lucifer to feel like he or his brothers were under threat. He would continue on as normal with a smile on his face and a cheerful outlook on life even as Lucifer made himself scarce for the rest of the week. Completely understandable. There was still a party to look forward to after all. Ugh… the diametrically opposed emotions made him even sadder.Lucifer committed to going above and beyond expectations. It was a given. He was proud of his work ethic and, though he disapproved of the party itself, he handled everything; even things that he would normally delegate to an assistant.Diavolo loved parties. He was a social butterfly and no month went by without one. It drove Lucifer crazy because the extracurricular scheming always took precedence over real work. But, if he was honest with himself in the dimly lit corner of his mind, he liked that the man was enamored with simple things. Diavolo had a nice smile that attracted all who beheld it. It was one of his best features, though people often eyed his broad shoulders and chest when they thought they wouldn’t get caught, and especially behind Diavolo’s back.Lucifer saw it all. Diavolo, the prized alpha with riches and grace and a hot body. To which gods did the man pray to that gave him all that and a good personality? He didn’t believe for one second that someone could have everything and not be ruined, so Diavolo must definitely love the attention and was a seasoned liar. Just like his dearest father who was in the business of affairs, Diavolo plundered his staff for sex and to be cornered in his own office was proof of that. Lucifer shuddered to think what would have happened if he had been an omega.Doing all the work brought Lucifer all around the office. It was incidental that Diavolo himself also did the rounds. He laughed and leaned over people and took over each floor with his noisiness. Lucifer could always tell when Diavolo was nearby, but it was even worse now since he was hyper-aware of him as if he was a car and Diavolo was a building he should avoid driving into.It was just a typical day but there was no one there to shuffle the man back to his office.Lucifer certainly wasn’t going to. He stayed in his lane.He had just been in R&D to speak to Satan. He was going to leave soon.Diavolo laughed and the sound seemed somewhere far away. Lords, it was hot in here.Curiosity stopped Lucifer and he had to look. He watched as Diavolo leaned over someone’s desk, so far forward he seemed to be bowing, with shoulders pushed up by strong arms to support that small arch of his back in tandem with his legs- statuesque - which mimicked the form of the finest piece of art in a first-rate museum. He wasn’t wearing his overcoat so Lucifer followed those long legs up and settled on the curve of his ass. Those finely tailored pants were loose enough to allow movement, but he was packed in there so well that Lucifer could see the lines of his briefs and what seemed to be the outline of a nice package. You want to touch me, don't you? Diavolo's suave voice entered his mind. You want to rip my pants off and see what kind of underwear I wear. You want to push me onto this desk in front of everyone and show them who the real boss is. Here I am, Lucifer. Diavolo fell backwards onto the desk and spread his legs open artfully. Do you want me?Lucifer’s hand twitched.Well. Fuck. Who gets their heart broken before Valentines? Diavolo sulked, opposing his earlier resolve to let it go.He kept telling himself that everything was fine and that it was normal for Lucifer to be away from him for long stretches of time and that the party was still on with lots of associated work to do from within and out of the company. His right-hand-man worked above and beyond expectations as a matter of course so it was understandable that he would not see him. Diavolo steered the ship and Lucifer powered it. The fact was one he came to know well and one he adored among all the other things he liked about him.Perhaps his heartache was why Barbatos allowed him to wander through the departments today.“Well, if it isn’t the head honcho himself! How ya doin today, boss man?” Thirteen, head of Research and Development, was a loose-cannon of a woman who bled confidence wherever she went, but it was a rare sight to see her at a desk; normally, she had herself holed away tinkering as she pleased. The most he had ever seen her out of her cave was when Solomon came around when they were still together, but in any case, her face was a welcomed one. “Ah…” Diavolo thought it had been easy to deflect the how-do-you-dos with other people, but it didn’t feel right to do it here. “I suppose I could be better, but the days keep going, don’t they?”“They sure do.” Thirteen smirked, but she didn’t press. He glanced over her shoulder at the blueprints on her stand as a distraction. Thirteen was known to make things both for the office and her own personal tinkering. The only problem was, he could never quite tell which was which. Her role as head of R&D was hands-off, but somehow she became a part of her own supply chain.“Curious?” she asked.Diavolo nodded and leaned in closer as Thirteen scooched her chair back; her work was at once majestic and esoteric.“Looks big and fancy right? Super impressive?” She was being coy. Diavolo had no idea what he was looking at.“I would call that pretty impressive!” “Well, thank you kindly. It’s not as cool as some of my other stuff, but I think it might potentially be the most useful.” Thirteen carded her hands through her hair to take it out of her face. “You know that shitty plotter we have? There’s always something wrong with it and it’s become inconvenient for me personally. I developed a way to get any printer to stop jamming among other neat upgrades; I think this might revolutionize how things will be built-” Thirteen reached for the pencil behind her ear, but she hit it in just the wrong way to send it bouncing across the floor.“Allow me,” Diavolo stopped her from getting up with a raise of his hand. “I was the one distracting you from your work after all.”He bent down to pick it up, but as he did, he caught the sound of someone’s quickly retreating footsteps and raised his head just in time to see the back of Lucifer’s head and a file’s worth of papers fluttering to the ground. A few omegas looked around the room in a daze.“What was that?” Thirteen took the pencil from him. “There’s stuff all over the floor now.”Whatever caused Lucifer to leave in such a hurry, Diavolo knew he needed to get those papers back to him. After all, if there was one thing Diavolo knew would upset Lucifer more, it was losing something he knew was important.Solomon wasn't sure what it was about Asmodeus that had him acting like a complete fool, but he never once regretted it.It wasn't that he was a virgin who had never been with an omega before. No, Solomon had been with omegas, betas, and even other alphas, and while Asmo was certainly pretty, that hadn't been what won Solomon over.Asmodeus was special. No omega had ever hunted him down the way Asmo did. He made moves hidden under the pretenses of discussing company projects, switching between the faces of seasoned professional and flirt with the snap of his long fingers.Even when they did talk about work, Asmo was quick witted and smart. He knew how to command a room. He knew what he was talking about and never came ready to take no for an answer, even when Solomon himself was uncertain; it was the same persistence he chased Solomon down with. When an alpha stepped over the line, Asmo bit back and destroyed them with honey-laced venom. It was impressive- hot- and while many alphas would find it to be a red flag, Solomon thought it was the most attractive thing he'd ever seen. "Even if you're just a pretty face, we'll have a fun night and we can leave it at that ,” Asmo had said. Against his uncertainty, Solomon said yes.Of course Solomon had heard the rumors about all seven of them, especially Asmodeus. The loose omega who wasn't quite fit for long term partner material, but good for a night. That version hadn't been something that Solomon was interested in, but that also wasn't the Asmodeus that Solomon experienced. They'd talked for hours about the world, current affairs, favorite movies, pastimes, snacks they enjoyed- no subject too big or too small.By the end of it Solomon walked him home and had a hard time saying goodbye at his doorstep. He lingered. And lingered. And lingered.Even after Solomon went home that night he reminisced about their date. He felt like a giddy teenager, rolling in his bed with his mind racing with sweet thoughts of the pretty omega from the office.Asmo knew what he wanted and he was anything but textbook. He was intuitive and could lay out a stranger's life story from a glance, but he would never use his powers for evil because he was kind and considerate. He had a heart of gold.Solomon thought he was perfect partner material. So much so that his new partner could talk him into sneaking away into the janitor's closet for a quickie in between meetings on the days he did find his way into the office.Of course they kept everything on the down-low as much as they could. Whatever they did outside of work on their own time was their business, but anyone at the office picking up on their relationship and finding out what they did was a glaring risk. Solomon would be reprimanded, but consequences would be worse for his partner. They had started being intimate about a month after they started dating. He had heard that Asmo had taken a sick day, and, wanting to be a supportive partner in his newfound relationship, he decided to make his lover a nice home-cooked meal and bring over to his apartment. It was cute and domestic and sweet and the perfect way to nurture a blooming relationship. That was day Solomon discovered that Asmo didn't use suppressants, or anything really. That day, Asmo had pulled him into a heated kiss. His movements came with such urgency that Solomon didn't register the door locking behind him nor his soup crashing to the ground. It was only when his rut kicked in that Solomon realized Asmo was in heat, then his rationality died, and long gone were thoughts of tucking Asmo in and offering to watch a movie. When Solomon tried to take over, Asmo growled. Normally he liked to take his time, play with his partners and taste every last drop of them. But not then, no. The miniskirt Asmo wore was enough for a bit of decency if he needed it, but underneath he was bare, thighs wet with slick from desperately trying to fuck himself to gain some sort of relief.Something Solomon now knew intimately was that, in Asmo's world, nothing could compare to the real thing. And so he ended up on his back on Asmo's couch, the omega desperately riding him in quick little bounces to relieve the burning in his core. With their mouths messy with spit, Asmo whining and moaning on top of him, it had all almost been too much for Solomon. When Asmo finally allowed him, he flipped their positions, trying to keep up with the desperate pleas of “faster” and “harder ” and then when Asmo finally came, he tightened around Solomon- who cursed under his breath as shaky moans left him-His knot formed under Asmo's grip. His cock twitched and released. And Asmo? The omega was still humping him, whimpering with each shallow thrust until his body stilled hours later when his fever finally broke.Of course Solomon had stayed, long after they were able to part from each other. He bathed Asmo and tucked him into his bed, which had been thoroughly nested, and then he went to clean up his apartment. Every now and again Asmo would come out, looking at him with those beautiful pleading eyes, so different from the domineering omega he had witnessed moments before. Each time, Solomon would kiss his forehead and usher him back to bed, promising to be with him soon.Solomon was a man of his word too. With the invitation still standing, he joined Asmo in his nest and they just talked. They pulled out the laptop and turned on the series they'd been watching together on their last date, up until the moment Asmo wanted Solomon inside of him again. After the explosive first time, Solomon was good about keeping Asmo at bay long enough to at least get a condom on, but his whirlwind of an omega was hard to keep down. Of course, concerns of accidents were always at the back of Solomon's mind, but so far they'd been lucky and the temptation was too much when he most needed his rationality.“Come over later?” Asmo asked, breathless in between kisses, “I want a weekend. Alone. No one else.”Solomon could smell him. Those sweet enticing pheromones made his cock harden almost painfully. His fingers were tangled in Solomon's hair. Asmo's scent was dizzying, and he was struggling keeping his thoughts straight- Asmo had incredible hips and thighs- Solomon could touch them forever. He felt himself back up against one of the walls and chuckled blissfully as Asmo started to nip at his neck. “You've been online and busy this week, and I want you so badly .” Painted hands travelled from his hair down to his belt buckle and undid it with ease before grabbing Solomon through his slacks. “I need your knot.”“I know.”“I'm so wet. ”“God I know.”And no matter how many times they did it, it was beautiful. It seemed like he could let Asmo convince him of anything.Solomon was brought back to the present after a particularly thrilling suck at the tip of his cock. Asmo was on his knees and sucking him off in the janitor's closet. He tried his best not to mess up Asmodeus’ hair too terribly as he ran his fingers through it. The idea of Asmo's pink lipstick on his skin made him restless and he would have thrust his hips to meet that feeling had Asmo's firm grip not held him in place. He couldn’t help but groan as Asmo’s skilled tongue flicked the underside of his cock head. That particular region was one Asmo loved teasing. Solomon was a particularly sensitive man, and Asmo took advantage of it in every way that he could. The concept of multiple orgasms wasn’t optional with Asmo. Solomon hadn’t really known he was capable of more than two before they met. He was close. His head tilted back, his eyes fluttered-
So close-
A door slammed open.Solomon's heart nearly stopped in his chest as he watched Lucifer storm by. He was sure they had been caught fumbling around in a storage closet like a couple of clumsy idiots, but, as the seconds ticked by, the alpha didn't return. Solomon pulled a protesting Asmodeus off of his cock and hurriedly tucked himself back into his pants.“What the fuck, Solomon.”Solomon gestured frantically to the door and quickly went to shut and lock it properly as quickly and quietly as he could. It wasn't the first time they'd almost gotten caught by Lucifer. The first time was… well… their first time. The doorbell rang. After cursing under his breath, Asmo ushered Solomon into his closet. He held his breath, listening to the conversation outside as Lucifer entered the home. He set prepped meals on the counter and asked Asmodeus how he was faring.Did the omega need help with cleaning? Groceries? Any treats from the store? More blankets? He also asked about the scent that covered him. Surely he didn't have an alpha over right? Not during his heat?Asmo had laughed, assuring Lucifer that there wasn't an alpha. Rather, it was a new technique he was trying. Alpha pheromones were supposed to help omegas through heats after all, so why not buy synthetic ones online? And as Lucifer could see, it was doing a wonderful job."Solomon?"“I'm sorry, I just-,” Solomon sighed and leaned them both against the office wall. He gently cupped Asmo's face and kissed his lips tenderly. “Let's continue this later, okay? That whole angry raging Lucifer thing kind of put me out of it.” He kissed Asmo once more, the passionate fire inside of his core dulling to a warm affection. He wanted nothing more than to keep Asmo in his arms.Asmo sighed and leaned into him, “Yeah I guess, but that wasn't an angry outburst. That was sexual frustration.”“What?”"You really couldn't smell it?" Asmo's eyes widened, “Babe, it was quick but those pheromones were wild. Maybe it's because you're an alpha? Or was it because you were scared?”Solomon rolled his eyes and stood, pulling Asmo with him. His teasing didn't bother him in the slightest. “Behave or you'll be paying for dinner.”It was endearing that they could volley back and forth with each other, but even moreso was the return of the warm tingling he felt in his chest flowering like a long forgotten memory.Though Mephistopheles held affection for Diavolo, he had wanted to speak to him about matters that were entirely related to work. He had clients asking to switch schedules at the last moment, documents that needed approval, events schedules that needed to be looked at and so on. Just absolute busy-work.Mephistopheles’ life purpose was to serve Diavolo. As long as he could do that, he was happy with himself.Diavolo and Mephistopheles’ families had been intertwined for generations, providing favors back and forth that kept both within the gilded walls of high society. In fact, it was those close ties that assured Mephistopheles would be Diavolo's official Executive Secretariat. He took his job with pride too. He wasn't going to be one of those undeserving omegas that laid down on the job, unlike the certain rabble gallivanting around the office. And he certainly wasn't about to flaunt himself around the contractor like some floozy. He had more respect for himself than that.He organized the stack of papers on the table and then tapped them so no single sheet was out of place, then again, then a third time before carefully and neatly pressing them into a vanilla envelope. The last thing alphas in the office needed were more distractions, and making eyes at one at the water cooler was disgusting behavior for an office setting. They thought no one could see them, they really did.It was omegas like Asmodeus that made it hard for the rest of them. But no matter. Diavolo wanted them around. End of story. The other job Mephistopheles took up was making sure Diavolo remained undistracted. He kept everyone and anyone away who didn't have business with him, he filtered meetings to make sure they were worth his time, and he kept his own pair of eyes on that rowdy bunch his superior was so infatuated with. What a perfect and patient mate he would make the right alpha. Of course he wanted to focus on his career first and grab someone in his field, someone worthy of his pedigree. There were very few he could think of that would match his specifications and if he settled for anything less than what was worthy of him it would be an absolute scandal.Luckily he had a short list of alphas he thought to be a suitable match, and only one stood head and shoulders from the rest.Mephistopheles had to look around for him since Diavolo was rarely in his own office and-He came chest to chest with the man himself. They didn't speak a word to each other, eyes locking for only a moment. And his pheromones. It was a raw and powerful scent that Mephisto had never picked up before, especially not this close. Despite himself, and despite being on the best suppressants money could buy, Mephisto felt a tingling between his legs. A deep rumble emitted from Diavolo's chest and Mephisto whimpered. Just like that it was over. Diavolo was gone without a word.Mephistopheles was left in confused shambles, holding tightly onto an envelope for dear life, until he found himself bolting for the exit.Lucifer needed to pull himself together. He wasn't an omega. These things weren't supposed to happen to him. Lucifer grunted and tugged on his collar in an attempt to loosen it and let him breathe easier. The sooner he could calm down and relieve himself of the impropriety, the sooner he could refocus on work and do what he needed to do.What was it he needed to do again? Something about the party, or investors. And his paperwork-
Where did I leave that damned paperwork?
Sure sure, give Mephistopheles yet another reason to needle at his side. Perfect. Just perfect. He needed to calm down, to think straight, but nothing was working. His frustrations were making the heat in his abdomen worse, and he found himself rocking against the edge of the table to move it along. It was embarrassing and his cheeks burned with shame despite the fact that no one could see him.
Lords.
Acting like an omega in heat was far far beneath him. Alphas were affected by their conditions too, but he never had the displeasure of giving into his urges in public unlike his uncouth classmates who always forgot the time of the month or their suppressants. He got along with betas best because they were the most reasonable. But here he was, the mighty fallen, slowly fucking the edge of the desk like it owed him something. The feeling was physically gratifying but emotionally devastating. Despite his earlier admonition to not tread through old memories, he rampaged through them now. He allowed himself to imagine those past encounters and relationships with omegas who felt so warm and wet around his cock and the feeling of their undulating bodies as he drove them insane with lust- seductive mewls, breathy moans from bitten lips- how his knot swelled with the promise of relief-Then his thoughts shifted from his omegas to his larger-than-life boss.He pictured the way Diavolo moved through the office effortlessly, how tall and benevolent he was that people often asked him for help to get things down; when he would stretch upward the buttons of his shirt strained to keep the fabric together and Lucifer could see into it because the man did not wear undershirts and not even a fine tailored shirt could keep that broad chest contained. He pictured his own hands sliding underneath the material to relieve the shirt from the strain and popped the buttons himself. He hugged Diavolo from behind and felt downwards-Lucifer remembered the shape of that ass in those tailored slacks and blushed as his dick throbbed with approval.
This is the opposite of helpful!
What did Diavolo sound like getting fucked? What did his cock look like at the edge of release?Lucifer cupped his bulge roughly as he supported himself over the desk. This is fine. It will pass with time and decades of repression was bound to cause spillover. This would be the first time it happened like this and it will be the last-The door opened. "Lucifer, I-"
Fuck.
If Diavolo hadn't known when he first picked up the papers, he knew by the time he arrived at Lucifer's office. The omegas all along the destructive path were feeling randy judging by their faces and even though he had never experienced Lucifer's sex before, it was unmistakable. Of course, it was all a matter of checking up on his second-in-command and seeing if he was feeling okay and to recommend he leave early if needed, but the closer he got, the hotter he felt. Lucifer's office was in a fairly remote area, befitting a high executive. Lords, the scent was overpowering. His heart beat fast in his chest and he felt every b-bmp down below.Lucifer had startled when the door opened and, as Diavolo shakily closed the door behind him, he growled in warning before covering his mouth as if to rein himself in. His eyes shifted from place to place to avoid meeting their eyes but there were only so many things to look at before Lucifer seemed to challenge himself to get through it and finally- crimson irises darkened with sexual power- locked in on him and Diavolo found himself pressed back against the door and they were grinding, pushing, pushing themselves against each other and together, Lucifer's hands massaging his body and burning him as he went and-Diavolo moaned into the kiss.Everything they did next ruined any illusion of professionalism he tried so hard to maintain for the past few days. Lucifer wanted sex now- it didn't matter whose body he was using. The greater sin was to deny him of it.The papers were now crumpled up on the floor.Diavolo dragged himself desperately like a desert man at a mirage and Lucifer drank from him like he was the very fountain at the end of it.The kisses started sloppy and rough because Lucifer was mad at himself and took it out on Diavolo, but those lips bitten soft nudged him to be kinder even as Diavolo gained ground, because he did what an alpha didn't and let Lucifer take him down. They had been fumbling each other like dogs discovering a new toy, until he felt the front of his old friend's pants and finally put to rest the mystery of that cock. It felt good in his hand. Thick, hard, warm. He felt lower past the base and massaged the taut round softness between his fingers. Diavolo took a sharp intake of breath and pushed back against the door to support himself as he opened his legs to make it easier and, when he thrust forward to meet the touch, Lucifer put to rest the mystery of how he fucked too."-Lucifer-" The machinations of the kiss cut him off. Diavolo's normally smooth voice was mixed with a deep groan.Fuck. Diavolo was big but it was easy to push him on top of the desk. Lucifer had been thinking of this all day. Diavolo seemed to enjoy what was happening to him on an almost intellectual level, watching closely as Lucifer loomed over him, watched him as he tore the belt from his pants, pulling the neat pants- and soft black underwear- down to his knees, feeling the cool air of the office caress his throbbing cock before Lucifer engulfed it with the heat of his hand- rubbing from the middle of the shaft to the edge of the head- and he moved his hips with that rhythm until their lips met again and timed their kissing to it.It's not enough- Lucifer released himself from his pants and pressed their cocks together. It was the only thing he could think to do because Diavolo wasn't an omega and he couldn't just shove his dick in-The pressure mounted as Lucifer rubbed their wet cockheads together. The alpha pheromones took over the room, but Lucifer closed his eyes and imagined that maybe Diavolo was an omega and that he was wet when Lucifer licked into his mouth and so hot and perfect when wrapped around his cock- until he opened them to reality- but, even so, doing this with an alpha seemed so easy."Mm..." Diavolo moaned into the kiss. He was so pliable and sexy right now. Lucifer committed that sound to memory and then separated them so he could see the result of his work.Diavolo had turned his head downward demurely, almost like he wanted to avoid Lucifer's piercing gaze, but he became captivated with Lucifer's hands, watching it rough them up down below, one hand pressing their lengths together, the other lifting his shirt and grabbing at his chest.Diavolo watched, seemingly entranced by this experience.“Do you have any plans for the weekend?” Satan finally looked up from the book he’d been reading after a volley of endless questions. His day had been incredibly and painfully slow. No one was answering his emails, underlings missed deadlines, and the only thing keeping Satan from destroying his tiny office was his book- one he’d been trying to finish for a while now- and was currently being interrupted by the majority of his siblings deciding to take up space in his office. Of course, they did this whenever Lucifer was in one of his particularly bad moods, otherwise they’d be in his nice fancy office, which was quiet and perfect for reading, unlike his tiny insignificant one that didn’t even have a window, and had a chair which he had to replace twice-And he was going to have to replace it for a third time soon if people wouldn't get the hell out of his office. Right now. What bothered him more than the office was Lucifer’s ‘You should be grateful no matter what’ tirades. He was so far up Diavolo’s ass he could live there. But of course, it was easy for Lucifer to have that attitude. He wasn’t an affair baby, he was the choice alpha until daddy decided otherwise, and he’d never been tossed aside up until the moment the rug was pulled from under all of them. Lucifer just loved to keep everyone below him and couldn’t stand the idea of Satan surpassing him with his own goals and ambitions. At least, that was how Satan saw it.The only thing, keeping his tension at bay was his book. His book was being interrupted by his siblings. "Do you have any plans for the weekend?" Belphie repeated with a cuter intonation. With a sigh, Satan marked his page and looked up at Belphie over the frames of his reading glasses.“After the party we are so generously being forced to attend, I am going to spend the rest of the weekend with my book.” The Valentine’s Day party wasn’t mandatory, but Lucifer had insisted they all at least show up for a surface level hour. Satan could not think of a greater hell.Belphegor blinked. “That’s boring. Beel and I are going to go get discount food on the fifteenth from the restaurants around town if you wanted to join.”“They’re going to have half off on everything,” Beel chimed in, practically drooling at the idea. At least if his little brother drooled enough on it, Satan would have an excuse to replace the shaggy 70s monstrosity that was his office carpet.“It’s because so many people break up, yknow, the day after, or-" Belphie thought for a moment. "It's time they take all their affairs out.” His half-lidded eyes looked up towards the ceiling. “Wonder how many discounts Dad used to get.”“I don’t think Dad was taking anyone out,” Mammon snorted, “I don’t know about you guys, but before anyone knew I existed, I certainly wasn’t livin' the high life.”Of course they all knew that. Lucifer was the only one of them living with a silver spoon in his mouth. The rest of them only became accustomed to the lifestyle because their father believed anything else to be a threat to his status. Social suicide was the best term for that.So instead of brushing them under the rug, he was a gracious man, apologetic for the sons his secondary sex caused him to make and took his ragtag offspring under his wing, saving them from the jaws of broken homes. A story so sweet it was sickening.Satan still found articles published on the affairs and subsequent reconciliation from time to time. He would print them out and watch as each inky black word burned under the well-watched gaze of a controlled fire. It felt the closest thing akin to justice he would ever see.“I think if there’s one thing he succeeded in, it was making sure I spend the rest of my life alone,” Levi snorted, a smirk appearing across his face as he continued to stare at whatever game was on his phone, “Nobody has time for that.”“Except Dad apparently.” Mammon’s statement had a few of them snickering. A smirk even found its way to Satan’s lips. “Anywayyy, Beel and I were thinking you could come out with us if you don’t have any other plans,” Belphie continued, leaning in further to Satan’s line of vision, “It would be good for you to get out of that stuffy old apartment."Not because having more people meant bigger funds for Beel's endless stomach or anything. Belphie was the most cunning of them all. Sneaky cute little bastard.Satan closed his eyes and let out a sigh.“We’ll see.”“You’re going to the party right?”“Do I have a standing invite?Asmo smiled and leaned closer to Solomon. He batted his pretty lashes in a way most people liked. “From me you do. Plus Diavolo likes you, so he’d be more than pleased with your attendance.”He reached over and took Solomon’s hands in his, rubbing his thumbs over cold and pale skin. They were nice hands, Solomon's, they held him so gently, and he loved warming them between his own. “Besides, it won’t be fun if you aren't there, and you can come back to my place later. We can have a Valentine’s Day weekend of our own.”But those hands wouldn't control him, wouldn't force his every movement and they wouldn't lead him to any water when he didn't already want to drink. He'd had enough of people thinking he needed to be led. He'd had it from alphas who insisted on shoving his head down hard into the mattress when knotting him all the way up to Daddy Dearest who thought he had a say in his life despite not being there for a majority of it. It was an alpha's world, and he would claw his way tooth and nail to where he knew he deserved to be.Asmodeus Morningstar would not accept a life he didn't deserve.Asmo had decided a long time ago that a traditionalist’s lifestyle was not the one he wanted to live. Being some alpha’s stay-at-home omega and popping out baby after baby just wasn’t the life for him. Honestly, he didn't think it was a way for any omega to live, certainly not enough for it to be the default of society. No matter who told him he'd be happy if he just relaxed into it they would always be wrong, they didn't know him like he knew himself.Solomon was far from a traditionalist. When the subject came up he went on a ramble about times changing that Asmo had never heard slip from an alpha’s lips. “I was raised in a ‘traditional’ family ,” Solomon had said, “I decided a long time ago it wasn’t for me.”Asmo was going to marry this man one day. He knew it. And that wasn't something he took lightly. Solomon was a man who deserved his trust and respect more than anyone Asmo had met before. And that dick was a huge plus in Asmo's books.
Huge plus.
“Asmo?”But, it was the everything else that made him worth it. It made them worth it.Asmo hummed, closed his eyes, and snuggled up closer. PDA was no stranger to him. If he wanted to make his claim on his alpha and show everyone who Solomon belonged to he would happily do it. If they hadn’t been trying to keep their little romance a secret from the office, he would have moved in with Solomon in month two.“There’s never a non-awkward time to bring this up, and I don’t think I’ll have time when we get home-” Their home. How lovely.“-I think we should maybe try to be a little more careful when we have sex-”“I’m not pregnant.”“I know but-”Asmo didn't want to listen and the subject at hand was one he never wanted to discuss. If they didn't talk about it, he couldn't hear something he didn't want to. If they didn't talk about it, the idyllic vision he had of his own future wouldn't be sullied by the cracks people insisted on making. Solomon already said he was perfectly happy with a nontraditional lifestyle, and that was all he needed.“And if you do knock me up, you can always push me down the stairs.” Asmo could have his perfect reality, they just shouldn't talk about this. “Asmo .”“That’s what my mom did when she found out she was Daddy’s side piece.”“Jesus, Asmodeus.” Asmo shrugged and made himself comfortable once more to take another bite of his food. He opened his eyes slightly to stare at the group of omegas sitting in the booth across from them. They'd been trying to catch Solomon's attention since they sat down. Solomon certainly wouldn't notice their antics, but Asmo did; Solomon did not enjoy displays of possession, so he settled for staring daggers at them instead while he cozied up to his partner.“... My parents are wonderful people.”“You know? For some odd reason, I have a hard time believing that statement.”Asmo laughed and sat up. He stretched out his back while making the most enticing sounds as he did so, to give a show of what they could expect. It was getting dark and all Asmo wanted to do was go home and cuddle with Solomon after having some proper fun. Maybe they could watch a nice little movie and eat popcorn while cozied up in the nicest, warmest, fluffiest blanket they could find. And of course, Asmo needed to get a new shirt from Sol. The only one near his pillow was starting to lose its scent. “I am serious though,” Solomon continued. He stopped for a moment and nodded at the waiter. He offered a polite smile as he slipped his card into the bill folder. Once she left, Solomon turned back to Asmo. “That isn't something I want to put you through. I know Diavolo seems like a nice man but you never know. And what about other alphas in the office? How would they treat you?”Asmo scoffed and rolled his eyes, “You know they know not to mess with me. I've put more than one in their place.”The waiter came back with the little folder and Asmo handed them a tip. He offered the same polite smile that Solomon had earlier and watched as they walked away.“Look,” Solomon said, sliding out from behind the curved booth and offering Asmo his arm, which he gladly accepted, “I know you're more than capable of a lot of things. I know you're independent yet like to be doted on. You could do the job of any alpha and do it better without trying-”“Awww babe, you're makin me blush-”“But that doesn't mean other people see things the way I do.” Asmo gripped his bicep a little tighter as a chilled spike ran through the core of his body. He was more than aware of how their world was, he didn't need his alpha boyfriend giving him a lecture on how other alphas thought. It triggered something deep in his core that he quickly squashed. Besides, Asmo thought his curbing made his stance clear. He didn't want to talk about it.They were two sides of the same coin, Solomon just benefited more from their society than he did.“I just… worry that if we aren't careful, things could end up not going well for you. I don't want that.”Asmo leaned his head against Solomon's shoulder and let out a sigh, “You worry too much, my dear.” He forced his face to form a pout and looked up at Solomon, “But you're still comin over tonight right? You're worried enough that you won't leave me alone?”Solomon chuckled and nuzzled into the top of his head, eliciting pretty little purrs from Asmo. “Of course I'm going home with you. How could I ever resist a night with you?” The raspberry blown on the top of his head made Asmo screech in indignation, but any complaints died on his tongue when he caught that playful glint in Solomon's eye. In place of his dying reservations, he only had one thing to say:“God you are so lucky you're cute.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The Valentine’s Day Party.
The dreaded Valentine’s Day party.Lucifer was on drink number two.The venue was luxurious. It was decorated but uncluttered and the tables were spaced just far enough from each other that not one was intrusive to another no matter how loud it became yet still close enough to the dance floor that attendees could splinter off and come back for water if needed. The music was exciting. The food was delicious. Everyone was in high spirits. It was perfect, as was always the work of his second-in-command.Diavolo tilted his glass and listened to the soft sound of the ice striking the side. It was clear amidst the muddled noise of the party and served to distract him from his scattered thoughts. He was on his second drink. He spent his day thinking of the party, thinking of what clothes to wear, looking forward to the selection of hor d'oeuvres - he couldn’t blame Beelzebub for scarfing down half of the initial buffet - shuffling his workload around, getting lectured by Barbatos… by the time he arrived at the venue, he had already worn through the entirety of his excitement and filled the empty space with equal parts desire and anxiety. He hadn’t really seen Lucifer after the rendezvous in his office. It was early evening when he got there. He immediately went to work greeting people, meeting new employees and marveling at their growing little families. It served as an excellent distraction to listen to how his staff lived their lives but the double edge cut deep. His desire and anxiety mixed well with envy.Diavolo tilted his glass again, but this time into his mouth. The bitter sharp taste made him brave enough to scan the room until he found Lucifer who was standing in a dead corner nursing his own drink. It was technically a work event so most people played it safe by dressing business-casual, but Lucifer went a little above. He was dressed in a plain black shirt and black pants with a black tie as if to blend in with the wait staff, but also a jacquard vest with subtle interlocking patterns that caught enough of the warm venue lights to make him look like a rarity. He always wore enough to look expensive, but never enough to look overdressed. He was always perfect. Lucifer's beautiful ruby eyes looked around the floor like a spotlight to make sure everything was where it was supposed to be but focused especially on his own brothers as if he expected them to be his biggest problem at all times.Diavolo’s heart ached. He wanted Lucifer to look back at him. He wanted to meet him in the middle of the dance floor and see him smile- maybe shyly because Lucifer wasn’t the type to draw attention to himself- and hold onto that slim waist and sway to a love song like in the movies he always begged Barbatos to watch. And maybe they would kiss. Fantasies were ridiculous things.Every time he caught himself dreaming, he would ask himself how Lucifer would kiss him, but where even a week prior he would imagine that it would be sexy and gentle and maybe even cute, now it always looked exactly like how they had kissed in the office. Lucifer’s kiss on his lips was hot, forceful, heavy - it had only been a few days, but it caught him on fire every time he thought about it. He couldn’t stop himself. He never stopped himself. The real thing was better than any dream and he had already overwritten the piecemeal plot of his bad movies with the wonder of reality.Lucifer had pushed him on top of the desk and ripped him apart like an animal. “Mn… !” Diavolo had thrown his head back to get more air as Lucifer continued his onslaught. Their cocks were pressed tightly together and oscillated until they were covered in precum from tip to base, lubricated and so ready for release that he felt like he would incinerate in those perfect hands, but Lucifer’s overwhelming pheromones drew out his own and, because they were both alphas, it seemed that meant he would have to be edged into submission.Their scents mixed and intoxicated them both. Diavolo had watched himself succumb. He watched as Lucifer trailed a gentle hand up his side - even as the other continued fucking them both roughly down below- and lifted his shirt, flicking and then rubbing -He listened to himself gasp and he felt himself arch and press himself into that touch, felt himself and his nerves burn to cinders, delighted - and Lucifer kissed him again and felt him lick into his mouth, felt the tip of that tongue draw across the middle of his own in the same way the tip of their cocks rubbed down below - He felt desperate. His legs were wide open.He wanted to know what it felt like to be fucked. He wanted to fuck Lucifer.“ Lucif—.. .” Diavolo heard himself moan, he listened to his own uneven breathing as their bodies undulated together as if riding a wave, as he came and wrapped his legs around the body above him, felt the pulse of Lucifer’s dick on his as their cum mixed and painted onto his dark skin.Diavolo suddenly felt very hot and he took another sip of his drink. They hadn’t discussed what happened, even as they cleaned themselves off and rearranged their clothes into a work-appropriate state. Lucifer only needed to look at him to send him out of the office. It was a fool’s dream to imagine the man had a change of heart, because if he did then Diavolo wouldn’t be at his own party shoveling drinks down his throat to replace the feeling of that kiss.
Lords.
Diavolo wanted to kiss him so bad.Third drink.Asmodeus had made himself comfortable at the table with a group of omegas and Satan. The indifferent alpha sat next to him like a sad log, barely able to keep up the volley of the conversation with his mms and hms and seemingly checking off items on the alcohol menu with his mental pen.Lords, he looked miserable and it was bringing the vibes down. Like, sure, okay, whatever, having hard work overlooked sucked, but could he liven it up a little? Maybe even a teenie bit?“No no, you’ve got to at least get to season three. Like, I know everyone skips the second season, but it’s so worth it when you finally get through it.” Asmo regaled everyone excitedly. He had just finished watching it with Solomon so it was still fresh in his mind.“Pffft,” Mammon snorted. “That’s the closest you’ve ever gotten to sounding like Levi.”“And what is that supposed to mean?” The snide statement made Levi look up from his game.“Eh come off it, it’s not that insulting.” Mammon needled him like usual. Levi let out another grumble, but surprisingly dropped the conversation. His game was clearly more important. "I'mma head out. See yaaa!" The other omegas at their table continued to chatter as Mammon slipped off to try to insert himself in a mixed group from the finance department. Typical. Asmo let someone else take over the conversation and sipped on his drink as he looked around the other participants in the room. There were members from every department here, mixing and mingling and drinking. It was open-bar. Although Lucifer had taken the reins of the production, Asmo knew that he hadn't been the only hand in it; if his big brother had complete control, then it would be one-drink maximum if not dry.It felt strange how mixed the crowd was. Many brought their partners who chattered away happily, one or two pregnant omegas (poor dears) turned away drinks in favor of juice. Many stuck close to their partners, but even more explored among each other. Asmo saw a few beta pairs even. Beel weaved around the room in between people, following after some of the waiters and completely oblivious. The atmosphere just seemed lovely. Asmo had to commend Diavolo on his encouragement of diversity in his company. He loved parties of course, but the work-sponsored events always had a majority alpha presence and he would either come away only having seen his own brothers or grabbed-at by the aforementioned alphas. It was a pleasant change to have other omegas that he could chat and spend his time with, sharing his "softer" interests and views on dating and marriage without that knee-jerk judgement. Some of his new friends even had omega partners. If he wasn't with Solomon then he was with his friends. Lately, Asmo had been toying with the idea of bringing his lover along and being more open about his relationship. If only he didn’t have to worry about Lucifer’s overprotective ass.Speaking of his dearest older brother-Asmo eyes looked across the room and took in more of the crowd. Lucifer had been short recently, easily frustrated and quick to snap. Could it be possible that the source of Lucifer’s frustrations was also here? That was more than likely. They had to be. Why else would Lucifer be so frustrated at work? It was the only thing that made sense since he was a workhorse and never suffered professionally. Perhaps he had been rejected for being such a stick-in-the-mud. The omegas in this company were vibrant souls after all.Asmo studied the different interactions, taking in details and eliminating people left and right with a practiced eye. Finally, there was one thing that caught his attention. Mister CEO himself, Diavolo. He was the ideal alpha in every way. He was handsome but not stuck-up, strong but soft, knowledgeable but not overbearing, firm but kind. If it hadn’t been for Lucifer’s threats, Asmo would have considered worming his way into the man’s bed when they first joined the company, but apparently that wouldn’t have been appropriate. Plus, those two were always together so it would inevitably slip out if he had gone for it.Now it was definitely a good thing he didn't.People weren’t hard to read, and secrets never kept themselves from Asmodeus for long. Diavolo’s golden stare crossed the entire room to be with Lucifer and lingered as the eldest tried his best to melt himself into the wall. From even an errant glance, Asmo observed the way Diavolo held his breath, the way his fingers tightened around the glass as to ground himself, the way his bright eyes softened even as his lips stiffened to not be too obvious how much he wanted to smile. Poor guy, falling in love with their fool of an older brother. Lucifer himself was standing oddly, back stiff like a board, clutching his drink like a lifeline, staring around the room as if to look anywhere else but Diavolo. It was the posture of someone who had an image to upkeep and would actually die to uphold it.Asmo sighed to himself. He was never wrong when it came to matters of the heart. His brothers always ignored the signs, played dumb, and trapped themselves in a hole of their own insecurities, but he knew.He glanced down to another table where a lone omega sipped sourly on a cocktail and bore holes into Lucifer from across the room. Not just any omega either; it was Diavolo’s Executive Secretariat, Mephistopheles, who was a personal thorn in his side more than anything. The man had it out for him and it was so annoying. Asmodeus there's a period missing in your third sentence. If you don't want to be written up next time, you should consider paying more attention to details. Ugh, like be for real, that was so petty.Still, it seemed like he wasn’t the only one aware of the tension between Lucifer and Diavolo and Mephi was looking less than stellar about it.Asmo looked back to his own table and shot another look at Satan who looked even more miserable than he ever had before. A sneaky little idea started to claw its way into the back of his mind. Two negatives made a positive and maybe two grumpy people fucking it out would be a net good.Asmo leaned in close to his brother and nudged Satan’s shoulder just as he downed another shot- whiskey this time - even though he normally enjoyed sipping it neat in a big glass while perusing a book. “Have you ever thought about getting laid?”Satan choked and sputtered on his drink. “What is wrong with you?”Asmo grinned deviously. “What? You’re stressed. Isn’t it like a totally normal alpha thing to fuck and relieve stress?” Asmo tapped Satan’s empty glass on the counter to signal the bartender for his own shot. “You’re full of shit.”“Rude! I’m just trying to be helpful.” Asmo downed the whiskey shot the second it hit the counter. He caught Satan’s scathing look and rolled his eyes. “Don’t be judgy.”“If you keep drinking the way you are, you’re going to wind up going home with someone and Mister Perfect over there is going to throw a fit.”“Well, if you don’t wanna take shots with me, you should go talk to Mephi. Take him a drink,” Asmo leaned forward on the bar and tapped on the one-page menu his brother had been digesting like a book. “You’ve both got beef with our dear big bro, so you two can vent to each other.”“Why would I do that when I could just talk to Belphie?”“You and I both know that Belphie is probably sleeping under one of these tables,” Asmo huffed. His idea was genius and it couldn’t hurt to have it acknowledged! “Besides that, Mephi seems like he’d be into some classy literature. His family is loaded right? He had to have gone to some fancy prep school where they have to wear those cute little uniforms.” Asmo pushed the drink menu closer and waggled his eyebrows teasingly. “UGH." Satan's angry face was adorable. "Alright, but I’m only getting him some water, not alcohol. And stop calling him Mephi. That’s so fucking creepy!”
Bingo.
His grin widened as Satan grabbed a water from an ice-filled tray table and made his way over to where Mephistopheles was moping.Asmo smiled to himself, satisfied with his subterfuge. Now that all of his brothers were conveniently distracted, he could make his move. Solomon himself was surrounded by a few alphas laughing and chatting away. He watched the alpha for a moment, admiring the way his lips curled and his eyes crinkled when he smiled. He always had this sparkle in his eye that Asmo was used to seeing whenever something caught his interest. It crackled like the first spark of a flame. Asmo waved the bartender over and ordered a drink, pointing in his boyfriend's direction.Solomon was a super-hunk. His cloud-like hair fell into his eyes and those long fingers would brush across his face to remove the offending strands as he talked about any number of subjects that he had studied or simply interested him; his house had a study filled with knick knacks and hidden gems almost as if to mirror his mind. An infinite amount of knowledge existed in the man like a treasure trove and anything could set him off and they would talk for hours on their dates until Asmo interrupted him with more pressing matters. Alphas always pretended to know more than they did, but Solomon never had to because he knew everything. Sometimes Solomon would even let Asmo paint his nails as they spoke, which sometimes proved a challenge as he was the type to talk with his hands. The bartender approached Solomon and placed a drink in front of him; the rim was absolutely coated in pink hearts and edible glitter. At first Solomon pushed it away, but then the bartender started talking and motioned down towards Asmo’s end of the bar. Asmo offered a little wave and just like that, that little sparkle was ignited in Solomon’s eyes.“Hey,” Satan started, and then he backtracked. “Uh.” This was a stupid idea. What was he supposed to say?Mephistopheles stared at him from under his elegant sweep of hair. The rueful gaze tinged those green irises dark and almost hid the stuffy derision on the young noble's face. “Excuse me?” Almost. It was going to be one of those conversations huh? Satan was already irritated by the needling of his idiot brothers. He didn't need this- “Pardon my intrusion,” Satan replied politely despite his irritation. “I was wondering if you'd like some company.”“And you thought I'd need your company?” Mephistopheles’ nostrils flared and his lips twitched into displeasure with a grace that could only come from someone who deserved their position. Satan wanted to take that glass from those gloved hands and dress him in it, but he chose to smile instead. “If you wanted to drink alone, you would have chosen a top shelf wine and a dark corner.” He placed the cool glass of water nearby as a peace offering.Mephistopheles was a good-looking man. He was tall- taller than Lucifer if those white heeled boots were a factor- and could very easily be mistaken for an alpha. In fact, Satan had a hard time believing he wasn't one when he first came to the company."Do as you wish. I don't care." The man had no filter when he wasn't incentivized to be nice. He seemed distracted. Satan looked to where he was looking and was immediately incensed. Lucifer?"Do you need something from Lucifer?" Satan called it out and Mephistopheles immediately exploded."I do not!" His volume-control was broken- "I hate him!" -and so were his inhibitions. "I don't see what Diavolo sees in him. He gallivants around the office like he owns the place and he's not even that great at his job-"Mephistopheles immediately became redder in the face."No, go on." Satan encouraged him. Hearing it from anyone else's mouth but his own brought a catharsis he didn't even know was possible. "He may be my brother, but don't think for a second that I'll defend his worst qualities- and there's many-""Finally something makes sense!""He pretends to be so good-""He's so disorganized- I was around when Barbatos was COO-""Did you ever see-"Mephistopheles looked away for a second and in that split second Satan was hit with a powerful scent. It was hard not to take a deep breath of it and the fragrance settled in the pit of his stomach like an anchor and made him sick. Satan coughed lightly and hovered a hand over his mouth as if to excuse himself; alpha pheromones. It was abnormal to experience something so strong when everyone in the room was clothed. He followed the source of the scent and saw that the big boss himself had walked by them almost brandishing a flashing sign that said he was looking to bed someone. At least the man had the decency to notice, because he stood still for a moment to collect himself and continued on his way. Must be the drink. It was typical of alpha CEOs so why did he even bother? Satan looked back at his conversational partner and stalled. If Mephistopheles was prickly before, now he was downright miserable. His face was flushed and Satan wasn't sure it was from his drink. A sharp pine scent permeated his improvised barrier and took the anchor right out of his stomach only to smash it deeper and lower-“Fuck-” Satan swore. He knew what this was. It wasn't something he had experienced but only an idiot would let facts fly over him. “Hey-”Mephistopheles didn't answer. He crossed his legs and finally took the glass of water Satan had offered, but though he tried to shrink himself, he was still too open despite the difficult expression on his face.“Are you in heat?” At those words, Mephisto snarled, “Of course not! I have the best suppressants that money can buy- I can't be-”But he was. Satan looked around and worried at the sudden attention of nearby alphas. They lived in a civil society, but it wasn't a good thing to be an omega in heat in public. He quickly grabbed Mephisto who barely resisted and dragged him to the washroom. It wasn't necessarily the best option, but it was the quickest one, and it would give him enough time to think about the next steps.
Fuuuuuuck...
Not only was Mephistopheles in heat, but Satan could feel the beginnings of arousal stirring in his own abdomen. He'd always thought he was too much of a gentleman to take an omega he wasn't committed to, yet the moment he was setting Mephisto on the sink, he unintentionally pressed his hips onto him. The gasp that escaped Mephistopheles’ lips simultaneously egged him on and snapped him back to reality.
What am I doing?
This wasn't him. He would never.Satan caught his reflection in the ornate mirror on the wall, eyes blown wide and hands shaking as he gripped the pearly porcelain with one hand. He pulled away when the reality of the situation finally dawned upon him. He couldn't treat an omega like this, especially not one as high profile as Mephistopheles. The omega was safe now, that's what mattered. He should leave. He should get a water, hop in his car, and leave. Staying for the amount of time he already did was too long already. He could deal with Lucifer's pompous ass later.“I should go-”Then the sharp heel of those tall leather boots dug into his hips and drew a hiss from his lips.“Don't you dare.” Seeing Thirteen at the party wasn’t something that surprised Solomon, but when she willingly slipped into conversation with him at the bar, it did.Of course, they had both been avoiding each other at the New Years party and that had set the tone for what he thought was the rest of the year. She had moved on and he had moved on- he loved Asmo and he would never leave him for the world- but Thirteen's avoidance stung. It took a while for him to understand that it hadn't been the breakup that hurt the most; it was losing their friendship.Given how she had been then, he hadn't expected her to approach him now. Thirteen took a seat one stool down from him and had slipped in with ease with the group around him. It was once the conversation became boring that she finally turned to him.“You look good.” Solomon's ears perked up at her words. Her hair was pulled into a messy ponytail and her long bangs framed the easy smile on her face. “And that's not me making a pass at you, just so we're clear.”He found himself at a loss for words. "Thanks. I've been..." It was hard to describe what he was feeling to someone who hadn't needed to know for months. "… feeling good.” “I'm happy for you. I was worried about you after-” she hesitated. They both knew what she wanted to say. You spiraled after the breakup, but instead she said, “I'm glad you're doing okay.”The silence stretched between them to the point of becoming uncomfortable. They had been together for so long and they couldn't even figure out how to talk to each other. The realization felt incredibly icy in Solomon's chest. But… perhaps rebuilding their friendship was still possible. She had bothered to make some sort of conversation after all.He was about to say something when a drink slid his way. It didn't take him long to make eye contact with Asmodeus across the bar. The omega batted his eyelashes and his lips curled up devilishly. A fire sparked in his chest and flared to the tips of his ears. Then, just like that, the omega turned back towards his group.“Cute.” Solomon felt his cheeks flush at the acknowledgement of his partner. He whipped around to look back towards Thirteen with cover stories ready on his tongue.“Is he your new potential mate?” she asked. “Gotta say, I would be surprised you ended up with an omega, but honestly that one makes sense.”“And why do you say that?”“Solomon, we were together for three years. You think I don't know what you like?” Thirteen rolled her eyes before they settled back on Solomon. “He's bossy. You like bossy.”The statement slipped out of her mouth as if it were a fact of life. How could he deny what she said? They knew everything about each other. Thirteen could write his memoir if he wasn't sure she would slip in something just to mess with him.The cold distance warmed into a familiar fondness. They never had to be on the same page to understand each other, like when they'd be working on their own little projects in the living room on a weekend or deep into the night. Like when they were still planning their lives around each other.Maybe it wasn't too late to save what remained of their fragile friendship.“Can I offer you some advice?” Thirteen tapped the counter for her own drink and received it almost immediately.Solomon nodded and sipped at the drink Asmo had ordered for him. It was bright and bubbly and burned his throat as it went down but left a sweet aftertaste that tingled on his tongue before evaporating into a smoky memory.“Treat him like a person Sol, none of that pedestal bullshit.”“I do not-”The look she threw him stopped Solomon in his tracks. “I mean it. You fall fast and hard. I get it, you’re starved for connection and your family has a shit dynamic, boo hoo.” She took a swig from her glass and slammed in back down on on the counter pointedly, almost upsetting the entirety of the contents on the bar. “Don't grovel until you lose your personality this time.” Her gaze softened but her lips curled downwards ever so slightly. “Who you are is why he likes you. You're a good guy, Sol. Don't lose yourself.”Solomon cleared his throat and he struggled to meet Thirteen's gaze but he did anyway. Her eyes were soft even with the serpentine contacts. She wore them everyday and bought packs in bulk to get her through the year. He couldn’t help but wonder if she still kept the packages tucked in the bathroom cabinet in the corner behind the mirror.“I know. Believe me, I had time to learn,” he said softly. Then he took her hand and gave it a squeeze. “It was a hard lesson, but I've done my work.”“I hope so, for your sake.”Satan's thrusting wasn't perfect, but Mephistopheles could make it work. He didn't have too much time to think about how debauched he must look, with his pants and undergarments hanging from his leg as his nails clawed into the back of Satan's shirt. Anytime the alpha would bend over to press his lips against him in any fashion, Mephisto yanked him back by his hair and growled a warning. He may be letting this lower class dog fuck him, but that was it.Thank the lords for condoms in bathrooms. Why the venue anticipated individuals would be looking to fornicate in such public places would surely be something he would bring up at their meeting later, but for now he could reap the benefits of such foresight. He could lean back and not worry about a thing but keeping Satan's hips in a rhythm with his own."Mmgh..." Satan moaned. It was almost like he'd never slept with an omega before with how he was moving. His hips lost their rhythm and he needed help keeping his pace and his motion.Had Mephistopheles come here with the intention of getting drunk and fucking a nobody in the bathroom? Absolutely not. If anything he had been hoping to maybe seduce Diavolo back into his arms. Well perhaps seduce wasn't the right word. That was something Asmodeus did. Seduction implied a form of trickery, using an alphas sexuality and exploiting it as a weakness. He'd watched how the other omega flirted around the office enough to know exactly how he operated, using his slutty body to keep alphas strung on his every word. If only he put the same amount of work into his job as he did being a floozy, Mephistopheles might actually be concerned for his own position in the company.A moan ripped from his throat. Fuck. If only Satan could be consistent with his thrusts. It was an inopportune moment when Diavolo walked past. It had been happening a lot lately and it always happened when he was just walking by. Those alpha pheromones triggered something in him that his heat suppressants could not account for.He hated how weak he became. But it wasn't his fault! What kind of monster runs around releasing his scent everywhere like this? This was the second time in a week!Oh but Mephistopheles craved it.Diavolo was a large man, so he imagined everything about him was large. So much so that his own pleasure would be guaranteed because those powerful thrusts would penetrate the deepest parts of him and-Mephisto pulled Satan close and stopped their mismatched movements.“Wha-”“Listen to me now ,” he hissed. “If this is going to work, I'm going to need you to be a good boy and sit.”Mephisto pushed him away from the sink and ignored his shaking legs as he hopped off the counter and backed the dick he was using onto the toilet seat. He barely registered how blown those green eyes were or how they watched his every movement in calculated detail. Perhaps it would have been cute had his core not been aching for relief. Mephistopheles climbed on top of Satan's legs unceremoniously, sank back down onto the length before him and let his mind run wild.It wasn't any alpha from the office, it was Diavolo, finally realizing that their coupling would be most ideal for a perfect future. They would finally unite two powerful families in the closest way they could, and overcome with passion he would take him right there in his office, back pressed against the smooth surface of his desk and papers scattered about. Or perhaps on his fancy leather chair? The details could be worked out later. The point was it would feel good, better than whatever he felt now. For one, he wouldn't be doing all the work. He'd be taking orders, feeling that cock claim him over and over, and maybe his hands would be held firmly above his head. And then at night, they'd be on a large plush king sized mattress complete with ornate sheets and silken linen, and it would happen all over again. He would do anything and everything to please his alpha, because Diavolo was a man worthy of his respect. In return Diavolo would please him in the most intricate of ways and tend to his every need. "Ah- ah-... Dia... Diavolo, please... mn..."Thinking about those broad shoulders, large hands, and that golden stare immediately tossed him over the edge. His insides spasmed and his mind blanked as pleasure washed over him. The grunt from the alpha beneath him alerted him to his surreptitious paramour’s arrival as well.He lifted himself up immediately despite his protesting thighs. While he would have loved to lose himself in fantasy, he couldn't allow himself to be knotted by an alpha that wasn't on his list of prospectives. It was simply inappropriate. With shaky legs he propped himself up against the wall and caught his breath. His heat continued to rage through his body, but the shame was also starting to set in and he hated the way his asshole continued to twitch as if this needed to continue on further than required. He needed to leave.Diavolo wanted to stay forever by Lucifer’s side.Lucifer, for all his usual contrarianism, kept his walls down this time. They stood away from everyone in Lucifer's dead corner and chatted about work, how the catering almost cancelled, what they each had in their glasses. They were both a little drunk so it was easy to pick up the small subjects and bat them around a little. They laughed about inconsequential things.Lucifer’s cheeks were pink and Diavolo thought it looked like the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.He wanted to be Cinderella at the neverending party and learn to stop time so it never reached midnight. He wanted to reach out and feel the warmth of those cheeks and lean in and find out what flavour of Lucifer he would receive, but while they were both drunk enough to sand down their awkward edges, they were cognizant enough to act respectfully in the public space and to each other, so Diavolo kept his desire to himself. Still, the conversation was fun even if the man himself was determined to be mostly business.Diavolo especially liked when those long fingers brushed back the soft raven locks falling into his face. No pomade could ever hold Lucifer’s beauty. He wanted to let him know, but after their tumultuous week, it seemed like a good idea to fall into the familiar track instead.Still… all conversations ended somehow, and after a lull in the small-talk-“We should discuss what transpired in my office.” Diavolo wasn’t sure if Lucifer’s cheeks were red because of the drink or the audacity. “I apologize for my behavior.” Lucifer continued. His lips pursed and he took extra effort to not meet their eyes. “I forced you. You caught me at a bad time and I-”“You needn’t apologize,” Diavolo hadn’t wanted to cut him off, but the new formality chilled him. He didn’t like what it implied about what they did. “You didn’t force me. I… uhm… enjoyed it.” He also didn’t know how he could assuage Lucifer’s anxieties, but admitting something like that out loud made him unexpectedly shy. Lucifer stopped. It seemed that he had an entire speech rehearsed and he had not thought of a contingency for the possibility that he would not be able to deliver the entirety of it. Still, his eyes seemed softer and he almost smiled and that gave rise to a hope within Diavolo, just a remnant; it sparked inside him from nothing, daring to burn after being doused a mere week ago and again just days ago.“Hm.” Lucifer nodded, as if to agree. “I guess it was quite the opportunity for you, wasn’t it?” He sipped his drink pensively. “You tell me you’re attracted to me and suddenly you get to have me. The master of contrivances will be you.” No. Diavolo wilted. He wanted to yell. He wanted to admit to Lucifer how much affection he really had for him, how much deeper he felt about him than passion or lust, how much he wanted to hold him, how much he wanted them to be comfortable, to be domestic, and how much he simply adored him. He wanted to deny Lucifer’s conjecture, that, put in those words, the opportunity for their encounter was absolutely masterminded and devious, but that surely Lucifer could understand if he was allowed to explain his intentions and that he didn’t intend to harm… especially not towards someone who was so near and dear to him.
I can fix this!
However, Diavolo did not possess enough mental acuity after countless drinks and his diametrically opposed barrage of emotions. “Yes. I… knew about your- not immediately of course - but I saw you run to your office and I followed you and then I knew, but I was going to tell you to go home and rest and then we- we-”“Don’t misunderstand.” Lucifer cut him off. Mercy. “I’m not accusing you of anything. This is just us clearing the air.” The drink became the most interesting thing between them. “This is the first time that has happened to me. I’m normally quite aware of my surroundings when nature takes its course. It was merely a coincidence that you happened to be nearby.”Just like that, the flickering beacon of hope faltered and died once more. This wasn’t Lucifer changing his mind. Lucifer had urges, he was busy, stressed, running from task to task. He just needed someone’s body to fulfill him and had hidden himself away to ride it out, until Diavolo had placed himself in the line of fire willingly so… and for what? Lucifer hadn’t been wrong after all.
You manipulated him into fulfilling your own desires. You only had to be in the right place at the right time. You know that, right?
You’re just a convenient body.
You don’t deserve your position.
You were just there.
Diavolo laughed magnanimously to offset the sting. “You truly have my apologies, Lucifer. I understand completely. I know it wasn’t a perfect solution, but I’m glad that you were able to get what you needed.”“It won’t happen again. You have my word.”Really, it could be anybody but you, right? Who would want you? Diavolo shook his head to rid himself of self-depreciating thoughts. The drinks made everything worse. He felt very wrong, but at this point he had nothing to lose by being honest. “I hoped that it was satisfying even if it hadn’t been enjoyable. I personally enjoyed our meeting thoroughly, especially when you touched my chest near the end. You really turned me on.”Lucifer was even redder now. He took a large gulp of the drink and it seemed to make him more audacious. “… It was enjoyable for me too. It has been a while since I last- well.” He cleared his throat and ran a hand down the front of his outfit as if to straighten it but it was still perfect. “I’ve only done things like that with omegas. I’m sorry if I perhaps… ah.” Lucifer sighed. “... If I treated you like one.”Diavolo replayed the way Lucifer tore into him and blushed. “I’m surprised you don’t have a partner. You would do very well, I think.” Why can’t I stop thinking about it?Was it the drink or Lucifer’s pheromones that was making his head cloudy? “Diavolo…” Lucifer pulled him aside and out of view from the rest of the party. It was another dead little corner where the excess bus carts lived. It seemed his second-in-command knew all the best spots to disappear. “It is strange for us to be talking about this kind of thing. We are at a work event and we are colleagues- no- you’re my superior-”Diavolo huffed. “I daresay Lucifer, I think it might be a little late for that-”“You should hear me out.” Lucifer threw back the rest of his drink and held the empty glass tightly in his hand. Despite his qualms, Diavolo listened to the ensuing pitch intently. “We are both busy people. We both have needs. We’re both alphas- you know exactly what I’m talking about.”What was he talking about?Diavolo’s mind ran wild- back to the office, back underneath Lucifer’s wandering hands, back to that last kiss as Lucifer jerked them both off. Lucifer was close now too; they could kiss if they wanted. They were in a secluded corner, but it was still a public place and somehow the possibility of shame made him hotter for it.“Lucifer,” Diavolo whispered just loud enough to be heard over the music, but he could barely hear himself over the sound of his own heart beat. “Did you bring me back here to proposition me?”“Not exactly-“ It felt like Lucifer wanted to say no, but his alpha pheromones pushed back against that idiosyncrasy and made him obvious. He couldn’t lie even if he wanted to. The air was almost acrid with it. “I propose that we continue this arrangement- I mean, we can’t undo what we’ve already done, after all.” Lucifer’s smirk was delectable. “We can trade sexual favours until one or both of us finds a mate- who knows when that will be? Won’t that make our lives simpler?”Diavolo was confused and horny. Where did this audacity come from? “How is this simple, Lucifer? We barely saw each other all week- you’ve been avoiding me and I can’t say I looked for you either. Doesn’t that tell you something?”“Forget this week. We spend quite a lot of time together.” Lucifer looked down at his glass with renewed interest as if it would fill up simply by itself. They were both drunk and rambling at each other and it was hard to keep track where the conversation would go, but Diavolo let him speak because anything was better than nothing. “This is purely transactional of course- but let's say we consider the benefits of exclusivity-”
Exclusivity.
With just one word, that pesky burning hope dared to rage inside him once more. Of course there were practical reasons for being exclusive. It would lower the chance of possible disease, it would keep their connection low key, and invite less opportunity for conflict, but Diavolo dared to read it as a declaration of mutual attraction and maybe-“-of course, we must segment our activities here to very specific locations and consider the scope of work-”To any other ear, this was simply a matter of business, but Diavolo hung onto the pitch with bated breath. Once more, he remembered how Lucifer touched him, rough and soft and sexy- remembered how he kissed, remembered the weight of his body-“And of course, since we’re alphas, there’s some stuff we just can’t do-“He remembered holding him after, for a minute, clutching onto his wrinkled shirt, breathing heavily in the crook of his neck. He remembered how Lucifer’s pheromones crawled over him. He remembered the afterglow, where it seemed like maybe they could have kissed one more time before they removed themselves from each other.“-So do we have a deal? ” Lucifer was a dangerous man. His sharp gaze pierced through the fuzzy veil. “Deal.” Diavolo, for the life of him, did not hesitate to say yes, even as his heart hurt that this was all they were. Business partners. Would a handshake be appropriate here? He took a step into Lucifer’s domain and was welcomed for once.“I’m looking forward to our future projects.” Lucifer had reached around and grabbed his ass; he pet down the curve slowly. It brought him so close. They were almost hip to hip. Any more and Lucifer would be able to feel the start of a hard-on.“How about we get to work then?” Diavolo smiled despite himself… any closer and Lucifer would be able to feel how fast his heart was beating. “We can start tonight.”“It would be my pleasure.” Lucifer purred.Satan smoothed out his dress shirt one more time and attempted to smooth out his unkempt hair. The nerves he felt prickling the back of his neck had him on edge. What he had just done was incredibly offensive, and something that he hadn’t even intended on doing. Who cares if it felt good? He wasn’t an animal. He and Mephistopheles would probably not speak again after this, not like they had ever really all that much before. It certainly wasn’t how he imagined his own deflowering. When he had thought about an eventual coupling there were a lot more flowers and candles and a lot less public restroom. He couldn’t fault Mephistopheles for dragging him back when he could just as easily have left anyway.Mephistopheles had already snuck away a while ago and Satan waited behind as to not draw suspicion. When he finally left, a quick scan over the rapidly thinning crowd told him the omega was long gone, and it was time for Satan to head home as well. He sucked in a breath and ran a hand through his hair one more time. Satan made his way towards the exit. That was, until a hand gripped his ankle and he let out a shriek that turned more than a few heads.
Who in their right mind would be grabbing his ankle?
“Hey. Can you give me and Beel a ride home?”Belphie!Belphegor’s head peaked out from under a long tablecloth which draped over his head like a veil. Asmodeus wasn’t exaggerating when he said Belphie was asleep under the table and Lucifer couldn’t even be mad because he had technically attended. How had no one noticed him? Did no one sit at this table? “Hey,” Belphie yanked on his pant leg harder, “Take me home. I’m tired.”“And I’m hungry,” Beel echoed somewhere behind him.”You’ve been eating all night!” Satan retorted. Then he sighed. “Come on then.”The trio walked back to Satan’s car with Belphie being carried on Beel’s back as he claimed he was ‘too exhausted to walk’. The truth was he was spoiled and always had been. It was probably the result of being the youngest since even Lucifer went easy on him. That and the twins had always looked out for each other and probably always would.Must be nice.It was chaotic. There was a traffic jam waiting to get out of the lot and people continued adding to the blockade by calling taxis. Peels of laughter assaulted them as employees drunkenly stumbled to their rides and giggled with friends. Lovers held hands. As if it wasn't enough, he swore he caught a glimpse of Lucifer running off with none other than Diavolo himself which especially made his blood boil considering the omega that had just used his cock and ran had been quietly whining the CEO's name in his ear.Satan was stuck with an inexplicable emptiness in his core. Of course Lucifer would somehow be involved in his misery.“Hey.”Belphie's annoyance was evident, but it in no way could compete with Satan's boiling state of mind. He hadn't even wanted to be here in the first place!“You driving or what?”“JUST GET IN THE FUCKING CAR.”Sneaking away from the party had been a welcomed reprieve. Solomon’s social battery wasn’t quite as high as Asmodeus’ and he was definitely starting to feel it wear on him. He already knew that Asmo was a social butterfly, so he was more than pleased when his excitable partner agreed to head home early to start their personal Valentine’s Day. Just a quiet night in together.Solomon was comfortable and relaxed. He was reading a book someone had given him. Asmo painted his nails and removed the face masks he'd applied to both of them earlier. The cold cloth on his forehead felt relaxing, and they had a nice arrangement of fruits to snack on with a yogurt dip Asmo had found earlier in the day. The omega had also cut the fruit into cute shapes- stars, hearts, flowers- it was almost a shame to eat them. And what Valentine's celebration would it be if Solomon hadn't gotten some festive chocolates? And flowers. He absolutely couldn't forget flowers for his perfect omega. There was nothing better than a quiet candle lit dinner and getting to cuddle up without a distraction in the world.Solomon put his book down and smiled at his partner, who was completely comfy in a plush robe, slippers, and a headband. All pink. A perfect matching set. “Is this too domestic for you?” he teased. Solomon was met with a soft slap to his chest, which made him chuckle. “If our relationship won’t be like this when we’re married, you can forget about that cute domestic life.”“So you wouldn’t mind getting married one day?” Solomon felt his chest flutter with the strangest, happiest feeling. Asmo paused and looked at him with a puzzled expression. “I never said I didn’t want to marry you,” he snorted a little and returned to his task at hand, a soft smile spreading over his face, “I always knew I wanted to be with you.”“Then I guess we’ll need to tell your brother then at some point.”Solomon knew why Asmo wanted to keep things quiet. He had heard many stories of Lucifer’s overprotectiveness, but in the same breath Solomon wasn’t sure if they could progress to the level they wanted to without Lucifer’s knowledge.Asmo ignored him. He set down his tools and blew on his fingers, and flicked his wrists a few times before placing them down on his lap neatly. He scooted closer and leaned against Solomon's shoulder. “I think they turned out really good.”“They did.” Conversations revealing their whirlwind romance to Lucifer would be for another time he supposed. “The colors really fit you.”“They doooo. You have such an eye for colors.”“Are they dry?” Solomon lifted his hand and tapped his thumb against the nail of his partner’s ring finger. He didn't see it smudge in any noticeable way. The dark blues and blacks shimmered as he moved his hand to admire his partner's handiwork.“I think so?” Asmo leaned into him and looked up at him with his big, gorgeous eyes. “Put a chocolate in my mouth?”Solomon chuckled and plucked a treat from the container, “Say ah.”Asmo compiled without a second thought, a soft moan tucked away behind his lips. Once he swallowed, he stuck his tongue out and signalled for another. Solomon chuckled as he slowly unwrapped another sweet. As he held the second naked chocolate in his finger a grin crossed over his features. “Close your eyes,” he said softly.Asmo smiled knowingly but complied.Solomon used one hand to tilt his chin upwards and ran his thumb over the softness of Asmo’s lips. He was the most beautiful person Solomon had ever known, and that pink tinge on his cheeks always made him so much prettier. How much color would he have by the end of the night after Solomon had lavished him in affection properly? Solomon never had to wonder. He placed the chocolate between his teeth and leaned forward.Asmo's lips had never tasted sweeter.Solomon was greedy for affection, so he knew full well what he was doing with each additional kiss he stole from Asmo's lips. His movements became more fervent as his hands traced along his partner's svelte frame. When he opened his eyes, Asmo was staring up at him with more affection than Solomon's heart could handle. In those eyes was his entire future, and it made his heart hurt for it greater than he already did. Asmo was warm and welcoming, and Solomon's mind only had room for cozy and comforting visions of the future. He thought of quiet mornings spent in a kitchen together on opposite sides of the table with the smell of coffee permeating the air as the golden light painted their room.He thought of listening to Asmo chatter and sing as he worked in his study. He thought of Asmo’s perfume wafting through their living space, forming a ghost of one who would soon return. He thought of nights gazing up at the stars, huddled together on warm summer nights when fireflies danced and the smell of roses always lingered somewhere on his sheets.“I love you,” he whispered. His lips found Asmo’s once more. And who could blame him if he found himself on top of Asmodeus again? His body slotted perfectly between the omega's legs as his pretty pink silk robe rode up to his perfect hips. He was pulled back up to the omega's lips, fingers tangled in his hair and their hips temptingly close. The rational side of Solomon was slowly losing out to his passions and desires. And for better or worse, Asmo seemed to prefer Solomon's reckless abandon. Slowly and carefully his hands worked to undo Asmo's robe, his lips trailing kisses down the well marked paths of his body until he was biting small bruises into his inner thighs. If one thing was for certain, he was going to assure that Asmo had to wear those high waisted pants with the flared ends for a while. He liked those pants. He liked them a lot.“Solomon. You're teasing me.”He really should have laid down a towel first, but he could wash their sheets later. For now he wanted nothing but his face covered in Asmo's slick.“Barbatos always tells me I should put my mouth to better uses.”“Does he now?” Asmo loved double entendres. The knowing smirk was a sight to behold but it disappeared soon after Solomon licked a stripe on his thigh and- “Oh…”Solomon’s cock twitched. He wanted to bury it deep in his lover so badly but the taste of Asmo was something he wanted more. He had been tired of yearning; it was a pit he could never seem to fill, but now he took the most pleasure from it.
