Lawrie looked at the bear standing in front of him. His taser hadn’t done a thing to Bruce, and it was clear that he was still looking to tear him to shreds.Lawrie knew he was strong, but he didn’t think he was strong enough to deal with Bruce on his own. He had already called for backup, and he was waiting for Larry to come and help.Bruce had already lunged at him, and now Lawrie was trying to hold him off. Bruce was twice his height and weight. Lawrie couldn’t hold him up, and he fell. He hit the ground really hard and suddenly, he couldn’t feel his legs.Bruce’s bit into his arm, and he shook it around like he was a dog playing with a dog toy. Lawrie trying to hit him didn’t do anything. His arm was torn off, and his wires sparked as it happened.He couldn’t hold back his tears as Bruce’s teeth made their way into his stomach. He tore off the metal shell, exposing all of Lawrie’s insides.Lawrie noticed Bruce’s eyes fixating on his mechanical heart. His teeth sunk into the heart, causing oil to gush out where they did. Lawrie felt the wires connecting the heart being tugged as Bruce tried to pull his heart out.Lawrie still tried to hit Bruce, it still didn’t do anything, and he felt himself growing weak as each of the wires connected to his heart snapped.His vision started to blur.He heard footsteps.There was muffled shouting.The last wire snapped.Someone started screaming.And Lawrie’s whole world went dark. Everything was handled swiftly once Larry arrived, but it was too late for Lawrie. Everyday he still blames himself for what happened.“If I had just shown up sooner… maybe he would still be alive…”
