Sakumo at War
The Hatake estate stood like a steadfast monument against the rolling hills of the countryside, its expansive grounds whispering tales of prosperity and heritage. Yet, beneath its grandeur, a palpable unease had taken root. War had a way of leaving no corner untouched, and with the young Marquess Hatake Sakumo on the frontlines, the household’s heart felt incomplete. Yasuo, the estate’s venerable butler for over thirty years, adjusted the lapels of his immaculate black coat as he moved through the main hall. His sharp eyes, dulled slightly with age but still alert, scanned the polished floors and glistening chandeliers for any speck of imperfection. Behind him, his omega wife Mariko emerged from the kitchens, her apron neatly tied, and her silver-streaked hair pinned in a tidy bun."The younger maids are gossiping again," she murmured, her voice low but tinged with disapproval. "Speculating what would happen should our young master fall on the battlefield."Yasuo’s jaw tightened, though his expression remained composed. "I will speak to them. Such talk is unworthy of this household and deeply disrespectful to the Marquess."Mariko placed a gentle hand on his arm, her touch grounding him. "They’re frightened, Yasuo. We all are. He’s too young to shoulder such responsibilities. Twenty-three, Yasuo, with no mate and no child. If… if something were to happen, who would take over? The Hatake name is too illustrious to let fade away."He sighed, his stern facade softening for a moment. "I know. But we must set an example. The Marquess entrusted us with his home, his people. We cannot falter."The war had weighed heavily on everyone, but for those who had served the Hatake family for decades, the fear of losing Sakumo felt personal. Yasuo and Mariko had been part of the household since Sakumo’s parents had been alive. They had watched the boy grow from a spirited child to a determined young man, and their pride in him was only matched by their concern. The staff often gathered in the evenings to listen for updates, their usual routines punctuated by nervous glances and whispered prayers. Mariko, ever the caretaker, made sure tea and light snacks were ready, even when the atmosphere felt too tense for appetite. One particular evening, as the estate basked in the golden glow of the setting sun, a letter arrived bearing the seal of the military. The hall fell silent as Yasuo received it, his steady hands betraying no tremor despite the heaviness in the air. He broke the seal with precision, his eyes scanning the contents swiftly before he turned to the assembled staff."The Marquess has been injured," he announced, his voice calm but heavy with implication. Gasps rippled through the room. "He is recovering in the Konoha hospital and will be returning to the estate for rest once discharged."A wave of relief washed over the servants, though it was tempered by concern. Injured or not, Sakumo’s return meant he would live, and that alone was worth celebrating.  When Sakumo finally returned, his arrival was met with quiet reverence. The staff lined the grand entryway, their expressions a mix of joy and solemnity. The young Marquess’s silver hair was as untamed as ever, but his usually upright posture was slightly diminished by the sling supporting his left arm. Despite his injuries, Sakumo’s smile was bright as he greeted his staff.Yasuo stepped forward, bowing deeply. "Welcome home, Your Grace. We are relieved to see you safe.""Thank you, Yasuo," Sakumo replied, his voice warm but weary. "It’s good to be back."Mariko, standing slightly behind her husband, took note of Sakumo’s condition. Though his injuries were visible, it was the exhaustion in his eyes that concerned her most. She resolved to prepare his favourite meals and insisted on sending tea to his study each evening to help him recover.  As Sakumo’s strength returned, so too did his natural exuberance. It wasn’t long before whispers of a certain omega began circulating through the estate. It started subtly—the Marquess mentioning his hospital stay to Yasuo in passing."There was a doctor," Sakumo said one afternoon as Yasuo served him tea in the study. The Marquess’s storm-gray eyes glinted with a hint of mischief and longing. "An omega… quite the beauty, though he’s as sharp-tongued as he is brilliant."Yasuo raised an eyebrow but remained silent, his professional demeanour unyielding. Sakumo’s grin widened. "He drugged me, you know. Said I wasn’t cooperating."For the first time in decades, Yasuo’s composure cracked. "Drugged you, Your Grace?"Sakumo chuckled, waving a hand dismissively. "I deserved it. I wasn’t exactly… behaving myself."Yasuo’s lips thinned, but he refrained from comment. Mariko, however, was less reserved when her husband recounted the tale later."A sharp-tongued omega doctor? Drugging His Grace? Sounds like he met his match," she said with a knowing smile.  The rumors grew louder when Sakumo began spending his free time in the city. Though the staff were used to his absences during military campaigns, his frequent departures after his recovery and breaks from the war effort were unusual. Eventually, the name “Orochimaru” reached their ears, accompanied by whispers that he was the adopted son of the illustrious Uchiha family."An Uchiha?" one of the junior maids murmured as she polished the silverware. "I heard he’s beautiful but cold as ice."Mariko, passing by with a tray of linens, arched an eyebrow. "Mind your gossip and focus on your work. Whatever the Marquess chooses is his business."Despite her reprimand, even Mariko couldn’t deny her curiosity. When Sakumo announced that he would be bringing Orochimaru to the estate for an outing, the staff’s anticipation reached a fever pitch.
The Visit
The anticipation in the Hatake estate was palpable. The halls gleamed brighter than ever, the grand carpets freshly beaten, and even the gardens seemed to hold their breath in anticipation of the guest’s arrival. The announcement that Marquess Hatake Sakumo would be bringing Orochimaru, the enigmatic Uchiha omega, for a visit had thrown the household into a quiet frenzy.“An Uchiha,” one of the younger footmen whispered as he adjusted the curtains in the drawing room. “Do you think it’s true he’s as beautiful as they say?”“Quiet,” Yasuo admonished, his sharp eyes narrowing. The butler moved with a sense of purpose, ensuring that every corner of the estate met his exacting standards. “Whatever tales you’ve heard, leave them outside. His Grace has chosen to bring him here, and that alone speaks volumes.”Mariko, overseeing the arrangements in the dining hall, chimed in without looking up from the immaculate table settings. “The young master doesn’t invite just anyone here. This is important, and we must be at our best.”The staff took her words to heart, redoubling their efforts as the hours ticked by. By the time the Marquess’s carriage pulled into the driveway, the estate was flawless, every surface polished to a gleam.  When Sakumo stepped through the grand entryway, a rare brightness lit his storm-gray eyes. Beside him was Orochimaru, his elegance almost otherworldly. The omega’s ebony hair was styled impeccably, and his attire—a rich, deep violet kimono dress with silver accents—was understated but undeniably regal. The staff assembled in a line, their bows synchronized as the pair entered.“Welcome home, Your Grace,” Yasuo intoned with his usual precision before turning his attention to Orochimaru. “And welcome to the Hatake estate, Uchiha-sama.”Orochimaru inclined his head slightly, his golden eyes sweeping over the room with a calm that bordered on aloof. His gaze lingered on the intricate woodwork of the banister and the grand chandelier overhead, taking in the understated elegance of the estate.Sakumo, ever attuned to those around him, leaned slightly toward Orochimaru. “What do you think?” he asked softly, his voice carrying a note of eagerness that did not go unnoticed by Yasuo or Mariko.Orochimaru’s lips curved into a faint smile, his gaze meeting Sakumo’s briefly. “It’s lovely,” he replied, his tone measured but genuine. The simplicity of his response seemed to satisfy Sakumo, who straightened with a grin. “I’ll show you the gardens later. They’re even better in the evening.”Yasuo, who had seen countless guests pass through the estate, found himself studying Orochimaru more closely. There was a quiet intensity to the omega—a presence that demanded attention without words. While his demeanour was composed, almost detached, there was an undeniable connection between him and Sakumo. It was in the way Sakumo’s gaze softened when he looked at him, and the way Orochimaru’s guarded expression eased just slightly when the alpha spoke.  As the day unfolded, the staff’s curiosity about Orochimaru only deepened. Mariko, busy with overseeing the tea service, found herself charmed by the small, subtle moments she observed. When Orochimaru´s brother, Jiraiya, the chosen chaperone for the outing, engaged the pair in conversation over tea, Orochimaru’s wit was on full display. His dry humour elicited a bark of laughter from Sakumo, and even Jiraiya seemed taken aback by the omega’s quick tongue.“He’s clever,” Mariko whispered to Yasuo later, as they cleared the tea tray. “Not at all what I expected.”Yasuo nodded thoughtfully. “There’s more to him than meets the eye. His Grace has chosen well.”The rest of the staff, too, found themselves drawn into speculation. In hushed tones, they debated the details of Orochimaru’s life—his rumoured rejection of countless suitors, his adoption into the Uchiha family, and the mystique surrounding his reputation.“It’s like something out of a storybook,” one of the younger maids sighed as she dried the dishes. “The beautiful omega and the brave alpha.”“Don’t romanticize it too much,” Mariko chided gently, though her smile betrayed her amusement. “Their story is theirs alone.”  As the visit drew to a close, it was clear to everyone that this was no ordinary guest. Orochimaru’s elegance and intelligence had left an indelible impression on the household, and the bond between him and Sakumo was undeniable. When the carriage departed, the staff gathered discreetly in the servants’ hall to share their thoughts.“He’s different,” Yasuo admitted, his tone contemplative. “But that difference is what makes him extraordinary. His Grace… he’s found someone who matches him, in strength and in spirit.”Mariko nodded, her eyes soft. “If this is the beginning of something, then I welcome it. He deserves happiness.”Yasuo didn’t respond immediately, his gaze drifting toward the window where the carriage had disappeared from view. “Let’s see what the future holds,” he said quietly, his voice filled with a cautious hope.  The staff’s impressions of Orochimaru would only deepen in the next year to come, when news of an engagement spread through the estate. But on that first day, as the sun set over the Hatake grounds, the servants were united in their belief: something significant was beginning, and they were ready to serve their master and his chosen partner with unwavering loyalty.
The Proposal
The third part of the tale began with the triumphant return of the Hi no Kuni grand army, in the second year of their master courting Orochimaru. The Hatake estate buzzed with anticipation days before the announcement. News of the army’s victorious homecoming spread quickly, and the staff found themselves swept up in preparations—polishing the grand entrance, airing out rooms, and arranging the estate’s most splendid carriage to ensure the Marquess’s journey back was worthy of a hero.Yasuo stood in the entry hall, meticulously inspecting the family crest, a wolf standing in a golden field, above the door. “Everything must be perfect,” he muttered to himself, his discerning eyes missing nothing.  Mariko approached, her arms full of freshly laundered linens. “You’ll wear yourself thin, Yasuo. The Marquess will be overjoyed simply to see his home again.”“Perhaps,” Yasuo replied, though his expression remained taut. “But after what he’s endured, he deserves more than just relief. He deserves a celebration.”Mariko’s lips softened into a knowing smile. “He deserves happiness, Yasuo. And from what I’ve heard, he’s found it in the form of a certain omega.”The mention of Orochimaru’s name brought a flicker of curiosity to Yasuo’s stern face. Though Sakumo’s letters home had been brief, his praise for the sharp-tongued omega had been anything but. The staff, of course, had taken the news with a mix of excitement and curiosity, though whispers about Uchiha Orochimaru’s lineage continued to circle. When the day of the regiment’s return finally arrived, the estate’s key staff joined the crowds at the city gates. Yasuo and Mariko stood together, flanked by other senior servants, their eyes scanning the throngs of soldiers. The city was alive with energy—banners fluttered in the wind, children darted through the crowds, and the cheers were nearly deafening as the gates opened to reveal the soldiers.“There they are,” Mariko breathed, clutching Yasuo’s arm.The first to appear were the illustrious leaders, Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara, flanked by their officers. Their presence commanded immediate attention, and the crowd surged forward, cheering wildly. But even as the Uchiha and Senju families embraced their returning members, Yasuo and Mariko searched for one face among the sea of uniforms. And then, they saw him.Hatake Sakumo entered the gates with his regiment, his silver hair gleaming like a beacon in the sunlight. Though his uniform bore the wear of months in the field, his storm-gray eyes shone with determination and—to the staff’s relief—joy.“There he is,” Yasuo said, his voice thick with emotion. But their attention quickly shifted to another figure. Orochimaru was there, his golden eyes scanning the crowd with a fervent intensity. Clad in a refined ensemble of dark silk, he was an arresting sight, his poise and elegance pulling attention even in the chaos. The moment his eyes locked onto Sakumo, Yasuo and Mariko both saw the change in him—a lightness, a relief that seemed to dissolve the icy facade he so often wore.Without hesitation, Orochimaru moved. He pushed through the throngs of people, his strides purposeful and unyielding, until he reached Sakumo. The Marquess’s face lit up the instant he saw his love, his arms opening just in time to catch Orochimaru as he threw himself into his embrace. The crowd around them seemed to fade into a collective hush, as if unwilling to intrude on the moment.“You’re back,” Orochimaru whispered, his voice trembling with relief.Sakumo tightened his hold, burying his face in Orochimaru’s dark hair. “I missed you,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. The sight was enough to bring tears to Mariko’s eyes. Yasuo, ever composed, cleared his throat and turned away slightly, though the faintest smile tugged at his lips. But then, to everyone’s surprise, Sakumo spun Orochimaru in a wide circle, laughing with unrestrained joy. “You have no idea how much I missed you!” he exclaimed, his voice carrying over the crowd.“Sakumo!” Orochimaru’s indignant shout made several onlookers chuckle. “Put me down this instant!”Sakumo obliged, setting Orochimaru gently back on his feet. As the omega adjusted his coat, his glare was half-hearted at best, betrayed by the soft smile on his lips. And then, before anyone could anticipate it, Sakumo dropped to one knee. The collective gasp from the crowd was almost comical in its unity. Yasuo and Mariko exchanged wide-eyed glances as Sakumo pulled a small velvet box from his coat pocket. The sunlight caught on the yellow diamond within, casting golden flecks of light that mirrored Orochimaru’s eyes.“Uchiha Orochimaru,” Sakumo began, his voice steady but filled with emotion. “You are the love of my life. You’re strong, brilliant, and everything I never dared to hope for. Will you marry me?”For a moment, Orochimaru seemed stunned. His golden eyes widened, and his lips parted soundlessly. Then, suddenly, he dropped to his knees, throwing his arms around Sakumo’s neck.“Yes!” he whispered fiercely. “Yes, of course!”The cheer that erupted from the crowd was deafening. Yasuo felt an uncharacteristic lump in his throat, while Mariko clutched his arm, tears streaming freely down her cheeks.“He deserves this,” she whispered. Senju Tsunade’s voice carried over the din as she nudged her granduncle. “Told you it was only a matter of time.”Uchiha Madara sniffed, wiping his eyes with a handkerchief. “They grow up so fast,” he muttered, though the pride in his voice was unmistakable. As the couple stood, now surrounded by well-wishers and family, Yasuo found himself smiling. The Hatake estate had faced its share of challenges over the years, but this moment felt like the beginning of something truly extraordinary.
The Wedding of the Century
The Hatake estate buzzed with an energy it hadn’t seen in years. From the lowest stable boy to Yasuo, every servant seemed caught up in the whirlwind of preparations. The announcement of Marquess Sakumo’s engagement to Uchiha Orochimaru had set the entire household ablaze with activity. And what a union it was destined to be—the military nobility of the Hatake line joining with the prestigious Uchiha family."I still can’t believe it," Haruto murmured, his tone laced with awe as he carefully polished the crystal glasses, their surfaces catching the soft morning light. "His Grace, marrying the genius of the Uchiha family—do you think Orochimaru-sama’s rumored ice-cold heart is truly capable of loving His Grace?"Mariko’s hands stilled for a moment before she shot Haruto a sharp look, her eyes narrowing in quiet reprimand. "Mind your tongue, Haruto," she chided, her voice firm but not unkind. "If the master has chosen Orochimaru-sama as his mate, then that is all that matters." She exhaled softly, shaking her head. "Besides, anyone who has seen them together would know—whatever rumours say about Orochimaru-sama’s heart, there is no doubt that it belongs to the master."The servants had seen it with their own eyes during Orochimaru’s first visit to the Hatake estate. The omega was unlike any noble they had ever met—elegant and poised, with an air of effortless superiority that made it difficult to tell if he regarded the world with quiet amusement or detached indifference. His inky-black hair fell in smooth waves, framing striking golden eyes that seemed to pierce straight through those who dared meet his gaze. He carried himself with the untouchable grace of someone who had never needed to prove himself to anyone. But it was Marquess Sakumo’s reaction that had truly caught their attention. The master—who had always been known for his quiet strength, his steadfast discipline—had softened in Orochimaru’s presence in a way none of them had ever seen before. It wasn’t an obvious change, but it was undeniable. The way his usually sharp gaze turned watchful and gentle when it landed on the omega. The way his hand would linger just a moment longer on the small of Orochimaru’s back. The way his expression, normally unreadable, had taken on something far more tender when he looked at his mate. And, though subtle, Orochimaru had responded in kind. The way his golden eyes would linger on Sakumo when he thought no one was watching. The faintest softening of his lips when the marquess spoke to him. The quiet way he leaned, almost unconsciously, toward the alpha’s warmth. It was in those moments that the servants understood. Orochimaru’s heart may have been rumoured to be cold, but to their master, it was anything but.
The Preparations
From the moment the wedding was announced, the estate transformed into a hive of activity. The grand hall was decorated with garlands of winter roses and lilies, the chosen flowers of the season. Mito-sama and Tobirama-sama had taken charge of much of the planning, ensuring that every detail reflected the dignity and grandeur of both families. Still, Yasuo and Mariko oversaw the work within the estate with meticulous care."There’s to be no skimping," Mariko instructed the kitchen staff. "The Hatake name deserves nothing less than perfection."The preparations weren’t without their challenges. The younger maids often found themselves gossiping during their tasks, speculating about the grandeur of the event."I heard the gown was made by the finest seamstress in Konoha," one whispered as she dusted the grand staircase."They say the wedding band has a yellow diamond to match Uchiha-sama’s eyes," added another, earning a soft chuckle from Yasuo as he passed.Even the head gardener, an elderly alpha named Genji, took extra pride in his work. "The snow will make it perfect," he said, surveying the pristine grounds. "Winter weddings are rare, but there’s something magical about them."
The Wedding Day
When the day finally arrived, the estate was aglow with light and warmth, a stark contrast to the snow-dusted grounds outside. The church, situated on the estate’s edge, was transformed into a wonderland of white flowers and golden candlelight. The servants who managed to sneak peeks inside swore it looked like something out of a fairy tale.Sakumo stood at the altar, resplendent in his military parade uniform. Even Dan, his best friend, second in command and now best man, had barely managed to wrestle Sakumo’s wild hair into something slightly resembling order. The servants’ chatter about how handsome their master looked buzzed softly among those stationed in the back. Then, the music began. The servants’ collective breath hitched as the doors opened to reveal Orochimaru. The omega’s gown was a masterpiece. The intricate lace bodice clung to his slender frame, the silk skirt flowing behind him like liquid starlight. His veil, long and sheer, was pinned with delicate silver combs that shimmered as he moved. Beside him, Madara-sama, regal in his formal uniform, walked with a rare tenderness.Yasuo couldn’t help but murmur to Mariko, "He looks… like he stepped out of a painting.""And His Grace can’t take his eyes off him," Mariko whispered back, noting how Sakumo’s storm-gray eyes shimmered with emotion as Orochimaru approached. When Madara-sama placed Orochimaru’s hand in Sakumo’s, he said something too quiet for the servants to hear. But the look on Sakumo’s face was unmistakable: a vow made before the words even left the priest’s mouth. The vows were simple yet profound, leaving not a dry eye among the attendees. Even Yasuo, ever composed, had to discreetly dab at his eyes. And when Sakumo kissed Orochimaru, the church erupted in applause, the servants cheering just as loudly as the nobility.
The Wedding Party
The reception was a grand affair held in the estate’s ballroom. Tables laden with delicacies lined the room, and a massive cake—a marvel of sugar and artistry—stood as the centrepiece. The servants worked tirelessly but happily, their pride evident in every dish served and every glass filled. The newlyweds danced together for the first time under the warm glow of the chandeliers. Orochimaru’s dress shimmered with every step, and Sakumo’s laughter rang out as he spun his mate gracefully. The image of them standing together in the snow later that evening, with soft flakes falling around them, became a memory the staff would treasure forever. They looked like a painting come to life, the embodiment of love and joy.
The Morning After
Not all memories of the night were as poetic. The unfortunate souls tasked with serving breakfast the next morning returned with wide eyes and crimson faces."What’s wrong with you lot?" Mariko asked, hands on her hips. One brave soul stammered, "We… uh… heard… things… from their chambers."Mariko rolled her eyes but couldn’t suppress a smile. "Well, it’s their wedding night. What did you expect?"Yasuo simply adjusted his cuffs, his expression one of amused resignation. "Let’s just say it’s a sign of a strong union and maybe followed by an heir soon."The household buzzed with stories of the wedding for weeks, each servant’s pride in their roles evident. Orochimaru’s transition into the Hatake family was seamless, his influence soon felt in every corner of the estate. Yet, it was his love for Sakumo—and Sakumo’s for him—that left the deepest impression on the staff, solidifying their place as the heart of the Hatake household.
The New Matriarch
The Hatake estate, once a bastion of military discipline and tradition, saw a quiet transformation in the first three months following Orochimaru’s marriage to Sakumo. As the new Hatake matriarch, Orochimaru stepped into his role with a meticulous precision that left even the seasoned staff in awe. His entrance into the household was nothing short of revolutionary, and the staff soon realized that the omega’s reserved demeanour masked a keen intellect and an unrelenting determination to better their lives.
A New Era Begins
Yasuo had been sceptical at first, though he would never admit it aloud. As the butler, he had served the Hatake family for decades, his loyalty unwavering. The thought of an outsider—even one as esteemed as Orochimaru—assuming control of the estate had initially unsettled him. Yet, as he stood in the grand hall watching Orochimaru pore over ledgers and records with the same intensity he might dedicate to his scientific research, Yasuo found himself quietly impressed."Yasuo-san," Orochimaru called, not looking up from the thick tome before him."Yes, Your Grace?" Yasuo stepped forward, his posture impeccable."These expenses," Orochimaru gestured to the pages, his slender finger tapping a specific column. "There’s waste here. Redundancies in supplies and outdated methods of procurement. We can cut costs without sacrificing quality. I’ve outlined a proposal. Have it reviewed and implemented by the end of the month."Yasuo’s eyebrows rose slightly. "Of course, Your Grace."Mariko entered the study shortly after, balancing a tray of tea and biscuits. "You’re working too hard again," she chided gently, setting the tray down.Orochimaru glanced up, a faint smile touching his lips. "It’s necessary. If the household runs efficiently, everyone benefits."
Changes That Made Sense
Within weeks, Orochimaru had introduced a series of changes that rippled through the estate. He worked closely with Yasuo and Mariko, taking their advice into account while reshaping the estate’s management. Staff schedules were reorganized to allow for more rest days, reducing burnout and improving morale. Budgets were streamlined, unnecessary extravagances eliminated, and the saved funds reinvested into the estate’s upkeep and the staff’s well-being."He’s remarkable," Mariko confided to Yasuo one evening as they reviewed the new schedules. "Have you noticed how he’s always thinking ahead? Even the smallest details don’t escape him."Yasuo nodded, a hint of pride in his usually stoic expression. "He’s not just managing the estate; he’s improving it. I’ve seen a lot in my years here, but this is unprecedented."Under Orochimaru’s guidance, the estate’s profits soared. In only a month he established new businesses in the surrounding villages, partnering with local artisans and merchants to create a network that benefited both the estate and the community. The Hatake name, once synonymous solely with military prowess, now became a symbol of innovation and prosperity.
A Personal Touch
Despite his demanding schedule, Orochimaru made an effort to connect with the staff on a personal level. He learned their names, their strengths, and their aspirations. When Mariko’s niece fell ill, it was Orochimaru who arranged for a physician to visit her home. When a stable hand expressed an interest in carpentry, Orochimaru funded his apprenticeship."He’s different," one of the younger maids whispered to Mariko during a brief pause in their tea break. "Not like the other nobility. He actually… cares."Mariko’s eyes softened, a gentle smile touching her lips as she nodded. "That’s because he understands what it means to be overlooked," she said, her voice tinged with a mix of respect and reflection. She remembered the conversations where he shared tales of his early life before being taken in by the Uchiha—tales that had clearly shaped him. "And he recognizes how much this estate and everyone in it mean to His Grace."
A Partnership of Equals
Sakumo, for his part, was more than happy to let Orochimaru take the reins of the estate. Though he maintained his military responsibilities, he trusted his mate implicitly and supported his decisions without question. One afternoon, Yasuo walked into the main salon to find the couple deep in discussion. Orochimaru sat elegantly on the sofa, a ledger open on the low table before him. Beside him, Sakumo knelt, resting his head in Orochimaru's lap, his gaze fixed intently on the page. His expression was one of deep concentration, absorbing every detail as Orochimaru outlined the nuances of a new investment opportunity."You’re incredible," Sakumo said, his voice tinged with admiration. "I don’t know how you do it." Orochimaru glanced at him, his golden eyes gleaming with a mixture of amusement and affection. "It’s simple, wolf-heart. I plan, I execute, and I don’t let sentiment cloud my judgment."Sakumo chuckled, reaching for Orochimaru’s hand. "And yet, here I am, completely sentimental over you."Yasuo quietly exited the room, a rare smile playing at his lips. The Hatake estate was in good hands.
Transforming Lives
The servants thrived under Orochimaru’s leadership. The new schedules allowed them to spend more time with their families, pursue personal interests, and enjoy a quality of life that had previously been unimaginable. The estate’s younger staff, in particular, admired Orochimaru’s work ethic and often sought his guidance."Do you think I could… one day manage an estate like this?" one of the footmen, aspiring to be a butler, hesitated to ask Mariko during a quiet moment.Mariko’s gaze softened. "If you work hard and learn from the best, anything is possible. And you’re already in the presence of greatness."The footman nodded earnestly, his eyes shining with determination.
A Legacy in the Making
Orochimaru’s influence continued to shape the estate. The staff’s loyalty deepened, their gratitude evident in every interaction. Yasuo and Mariko, once cautious about the changes, became Orochimaru’s staunchest supporters, their pride in him rivaling that of Sakumo himself."He’s built something extraordinary here," Yasuo said to Mariko one evening as they watched the estate’s lights twinkle against the night sky. "Not just wealth, but a legacy. And it’s one we’re honoured to be part of."Mariko smiled, her heart full. "The Hatake name has never shone brighter."And as they retired for the evening, the Hatake estate stood as a testament to the power of vision, determination, and love—a legacy forged by a remarkable omega and his devoted alpha.
The Pregnancy
It was the end of February when the Hatake estate first noticed subtle changes in their graceful matriarch. Orochimaru, always poised and methodical, began to retreat earlier than usual and appeared visibly tired at breakfast. At first, the household thought it might be exhaustion from his relentless dedication to managing the estate. However, Mariko, ever attuned to the omega’s well-being, noticed a deeper pallor and the slight hesitations before meals. The realization came one frigid morning when Orochimaru barely made it through breakfast, excusing himself abruptly before retching into a nearby basin. Mariko hurried to his side, soothing him with a damp cloth and soft words. Sakumo, ever-watchful, was immediately at Orochimaru’s side, his storm-gray eyes wide with worry."This has been happening for a week," Mariko informed him softly, her expression caught between concern and certainty. "I believe it’s time Tsunade-sama had a look."Orochimaru initially resisted, brushing it off as a seasonal illness. But a particularly intense bout of nausea and the realization that his monthly period was late since January, left him pale and trembling, forcing his hand. The next day, accompanied by Mariko, Orochimaru visited Konoha General, where Tsunade conducted a thorough examination. Her diagnosis came with a beaming smile: "You’re pregnant, Maru."Orochimaru froze, the word reverberating in his mind. He clutched the edges of the examination table, golden eyes wide. "Pregnant?" he echoed, his voice wavering between disbelief and awe.Tsunade nodded, her amber eyes glimmering with tears. "Yes. You’re carrying Sakumo’s child."It was as though a dam had burst. Orochimaru began to cry, silent tears slipping down his pale cheeks. Tsunade hugged him tightly, whispering congratulations. Mariko, standing nearby, smiled knowingly.   By dinner time, Orochimaru handed Sakumo the medical attest, as the alpha had been unable to accompany his mate to the hospital due to an important meeting at the Ministry of Defence that demanded his presence."You’re... you’re pregnant?" Sakumo whispered, staring at the paper as though it might vanish."Yes," Orochimaru confirmed softly.Sakumo dropped to his knees, his hands trembling as he pressed one palm against Orochimaru’s still-flat stomach. "We’re having a baby?"When Orochimaru nodded, Sakumo’s breath hitched. His tears came openly as he laughed, pulling Orochimaru into a tight embrace. "Thank you," he murmured. "Thank you for making me the happiest man alive again."
The First Trimester
Morning sickness hit Orochimaru with relentless force. The once unflappable omega now spent much of his mornings battling nausea, his usual grace diminished as he struggled to keep anything down. Mariko became his shadow, ensuring he had ginger tea, broth, and light biscuits to help settle his stomach. Sakumo, when not attending to estate matters, was constantly at Orochimaru’s side, ready with pillows, blankets, and reassurances."You’re hovering," Orochimaru muttered one afternoon, half-exasperated as he lay on the chaise longue in the salon.Sakumo grinned sheepishly, crouching beside him. "Of course, I am. I’m your husband, and you’re carrying my child."Mariko chuckled softly as she entered the room with another tray of tea. "Your Grace," she teased, setting the tray down, "you’d do well not to smother him. Though," she added with a knowing smile at Orochimaru, "I doubt he minds too much."Orochimaru sighed but didn’t argue. Instead, he sipped the tea Mariko prepared, grateful for her attentiveness.
The Pregnancy Reveal Party
By the end of the third month, Orochimaru began to regain his appetite and energy. It was during this time that he and Sakumo decided to share their joyous news with the extended family. Tsunade, the sole keeper of the secret thus far, smirked knowingly as she helped arrange a small gathering at the estate. Yasuo and Mariko, sworn to secrecy, oversaw the preparations. The dining hall glowed with warm light as the Uchiha and Senju families gathered. Platters of delicacies adorned the tables, and laughter filled the air as the evening wore on. At last, Sakumo stood, raising a glass for a toast."We wanted to share some news," Sakumo began, his voice steady but tinged with emotion. He turned toward Orochimaru, who stood gracefully at his side. "We’re expecting a child."The room fell silent for a moment before erupting into cheers and exclamations. Madara, ever the stoic, bawled openly, clutching Hashirama, who himself clung to Mito. Tobirama, usually reserved, pulled Orochimaru into a quiet embrace, his silent tears speaking volumes. Jiraiya, Tsunade and Nawaki teased Sakumo relentlessly, grinning as they toasted his "strong swimmers."Mariko, standing discreetly near the doorway, dabbed at her eyes with a handkerchief. "It’s a beautiful moment," she whispered to Yasuo."It is," Yasuo agreed, his voice thick with emotion. "Our household will be blessed with a new Hatake soon."
The Second Trimester
As Orochimaru’s belly began to grow, the changes in the household became evident. Sakumo was insufferable in his devotion, often carrying Orochimaru up the stairs or ensuring he wanted for nothing."I can walk," Orochimaru protested one evening, though his voice lacked its usual sharpness as Sakumo effortlessly lifted him."But why should you when I’m here?" Sakumo replied with a grin, earning a light swat on his shoulder. The servants were equally doting. Mariko insisted on accompanying Orochimaru on every outing within the estate, while Yasuo ensured the staff remained attentive without being intrusive."As strong as he is, he’s still an omega," Mariko explained to the junior maids. "Carrying a child takes a toll, even on someone as composed as him."One memorable evening, Mariko delivered tea to the salon and paused at the doorway, witnessing a tender scene. Sakumo knelt before Orochimaru, his head resting against the growing curve of his belly. "You’re beautiful," Sakumo murmured, his voice filled with reverence."It’s unbecoming of a Marquess to kneel like that," Orochimaru teased, his fingers threading through Sakumo’s hair."I don’t care," Sakumo replied, his pout drawing a soft laugh from his mate. The servants couldn’t help but gush about the sight, their respect and affection for the couple growing even deeper.
The Third Trimester
By the final months, Orochimaru’s belly had grown considerably, and the baby’s movements became more pronounced. One evening, as Orochimaru and Sakumo reclined in their bedroom, a particularly strong kick startled them both."Ow," Sakumo muttered, rubbing his nose where the kick had landed.Orochimaru laughed, his golden eyes shimmering with amusement. "Our child has your strength already."Mariko, who had entered with the last tea of the evening, witnessed the moment. She smiled warmly, knowing the Hatake heir would be just as exceptional as their parents. The estate buzzed with anticipation as the due date approached, the household working tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect for the arrival of the newest Hatake. Each servant felt a personal stake in the family’s joy, their devotion unwavering as they prepared for the momentous occasion.
The Birth of Hatake Kakashi - The Morning Preparation
The morning of September 15th dawned cool and crisp, the early sunlight filtering softly through the curtains of the Hatake estate. Orochimaru, always meticulous, was already seated in the study, his delicate fingers gliding over the documents that Yasuo had arranged neatly on the polished mahogany desk. Yasuo, ever the attentive butler, stood nearby, his hands clasped behind his back, ready to assist at a moment’s notice.“Your Grace, would you like more tea?” Yasuo inquired, his voice calm yet tinged with a hint of concern. Orochimaru had been restless all morning, shifting uncomfortably in his seat.“No, thank you, Yasuo-san,” Orochimaru replied, his golden eyes flickering briefly toward the butler before returning to the parchment in his hands. He frowned slightly, a subtle line forming between his brows. As he leaned forward to adjust a sentence in the ledger, Orochimaru suddenly stilled. A peculiar sensation rippled through his abdomen, followed by an audible gush. The sound was faint but unmistakable. Orochimaru’s hand froze mid-motion, his eyes widening in alarm as he slowly turned his gaze downward. The floor beneath him glistened with a growing puddle.Yasuo’s sharp eyes followed the direction of Orochimaru’s gaze, his usually unflappable demeanour faltering for a split second. “Your Grace?” he asked, his voice a notch higher than usual.“I believe… my water just broke,” Orochimaru said, his tone even but tinged with a rare note of vulnerability. For a moment, both of them simply stared at each other, the gravity of the situation sinking in. Then, Yasuo sprang into action.“Mariko! Fetch Mariko at once!” Yasuo bellowed, his voice carrying through the halls. He turned back to Orochimaru, who was still seated, his hand gripping the edge of the desk for support. “Your Grace, we must get you to your chambers immediately.”Mariko arrived within moments, her apron already untied as though she’d sensed something was amiss. “Oh, heavens,” she breathed, her eyes darting to the puddle on the floor before settling on Orochimaru. “Your Grace, let’s get you comfortable. Yasuo, call for Tsunade-sama and inform His Grace immediately.”Yasuo gave a curt nod and hurried off to alert the doctor and then Sakumo, leaving Mariko to tend to Orochimaru. “Lean on me, dear,” she urged, slipping an arm around Orochimaru’s waist. Despite her smaller frame, she supported him with surprising strength as they made their way to the master bedroom.
Preparing for the Birth
Once Orochimaru was settled in the grand bedchamber, the staff worked with quiet efficiency. The curtains were drawn to let in the soft morning light, casting a serene glow over the room. Fresh linens were brought in, along with basins of warm water and stacks of clean towels. A fire crackled gently in the hearth, its warmth adding to the comforting atmosphere.Mariko busied herself preparing Orochimaru for labour, her movements precise yet gentle. She helped him change into a loose, soft robe of ivory silk, the fabric flowing easily over his swollen belly. “You’re doing wonderfully, Your Grace,” she murmured soothingly, tucking a stray strand of hair behind his ear. “Just breathe. Everything will be fine.”Orochimaru nodded, his fingers gripping the edge of the bed as another contraction rippled through him. Though his face remained composed, the sheen of sweat on his brow betrayed his discomfort. An hour later, Yasuo returned, his usually impeccable composure slightly frayed. “Tsunade-sama is on her way, accompanied by Dan-sama and Tobirama-sama. I also sent a runner to the Ministry of Defence to alert His Grace—if all goes well, he should arrive in time.”Mariko glanced at Orochimaru, her smile reassuring. “You see? Everything is being handled. Just focus on yourself and the little one.”
The Arrival of the Family
Tsunade arrived shortly thereafter, her medical bag slung over one shoulder and a determined expression on her face. “How are we doing, Maru?” she asked, striding into the room with Dan and Tobirama close behind.“The contractions have started,” Mariko reported, stepping aside to give Tsunade space. “They’re still spaced apart, but they’re gaining intensity.”Tsunade nodded, rolling up her sleeves. “Good. Let’s get everything set up. Dan, you stay with Sakumo and keep him from barging in here. Tobi-oba, I’ll need your help steadying Maru if things get rough.”Tobirama moved to Orochimaru’s side without hesitation, his expression calm but tinged with worry. “You’ve got this, Maru,” he said softly, pressing a cool cloth to Orochimaru’s forehead.Orochimaru managed a faint smile, though his grip on the bed tightened as another contraction hit. “I’m not… weak, you know,” he muttered through gritted teeth.Tsunade chuckled. “No one’s questioning that. But even the strongest need support sometimes.”Outside the room, the servants bustled about, their movements a mix of urgency and quiet reverence. Mariko directed the younger maids to bring extra linens and water, while Yasuo ensured that every detail was accounted for. Though they worked with practiced efficiency, the tension in the air was palpable. “Do you think it’ll be a boy or a girl?” one of the maids whispered as she carried a stack of towels down the hall.“It doesn’t matter,” Mariko replied firmly. “What matters is that both mother and child come through safely.”Yasuo, overhearing the exchange, added, “And remember, we’re not just serving a master today. We’re welcoming the future of this household. Conduct yourselves accordingly.”The younger staff nodded solemnly, their awe for the Hatake family evident in their expressions.  Inside, Orochimaru’s journey had only just begun.
A Father´s call
The morning passed in its usual rhythm at the Ministry of Defence, save for the quiet undercurrent of expectation as the officers and civil servants prepared for another busy day. In his bureau, Sakumo sat across from Umino Kohari, his third-in-command and trusted friend, her sharp eyes scanning the parchment spread before them. Dressed in her military uniform, the alphas’s auburn hair was tied back neatly, her expression focused.“Mizu no Kuni’s latest naval exercises have been encroaching dangerously close to our trade routes,” she began, tapping the map between them. “And Tsuchi no Kuni… let’s just say their ‘increased fortifications’ near the northern borders are hardly defensive.”Sakumo frowned, his storm-gray eyes narrowing. “We’ll need to reinforce the diplomatic channels, but we’ll prepare for the worst. Have our scouts reported anything unusual?”“Nothing we don’t already know,” Kohari replied. “But it’s a powder keg waiting for a spark.”Sakumo nodded thoughtfully, leaning back in his chair. “I’ll bring this to the council’s attention, but in the meantime, double our intelligence efforts. And I want contingency plans drafted.”Kohari smirked. “Already working on it. You’re lucky I’m always ahead of you.”He chuckled. “I’d expect nothing less.”For a moment, the conversation eased, and Kohari’s sharp gaze softened. “How’s Orochimaru? The pregnancy treating him well?”At the mention of his mate, Sakumo’s expression transformed, his stern demeanour melting into a warm, almost boyish grin. “He’s… remarkable. Even with the challenges, he’s so strong. The morning sickness was tough on him, but he never complains. I can’t wait to meet our child. Sometimes I think I’m more excited than he is.”Kohari laughed. “You’ve been glowing like a fool for months, Sakumo. It’s endearing, really.”Sakumo rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “I just want everything to be perfect for him.”Before Kohari could reply, the door to the bureau burst open, and Kosuke, a runner from the mansion, stood in the threshold, his face flushed with urgency.“Your Grace,” the young alpha said, his voice steady but urgent. “Orochimaru-sama’s water has broken.”For a moment, the room was still. Sakumo blinked, the words processing slowly before the gravity of them hit him like a thunderclap.“He… what?” Sakumo stammered, already rising from his chair.“The labour has started,” Kosuke clarified, his voice calm but insistent. “Mariko-san, Tobirama-sama and Tsunade-sama are with him now.”Sakumo didn’t wait for more details. He was already moving, striding down the corridor with Kohari close on his heels. His mind raced, a flurry of thoughts crashing into each other. Was Orochimaru in pain? Was the baby coming too quickly? Was everything prepared?Kohari struggled to keep up with his long strides. “Sakumo, breathe,” she said firmly. “You’re not going to be any help if you’re panicking.”"I'm not panicking," Sakumo snapped, though the slight tremor in his voice betrayed him as he stepped into the carriage, Kohari and Kosuke following close behind.  As soon as the mansion came into view, Sakumo didn’t even wait for the carriage to fully stop—he leapt out, urgency propelling him forward as he rushed to his mate’s side. When he reached the hallway outside the birthing room, he was intercepted by Dan, who was leaning casually against the wall.“Not so fast,” Dan said, stepping into Sakumo’s path. “You’re not allowed in there.”Sakumo’s eyes flashed. “What do you mean I’m not allowed in there? That’s my mate! My child!”Dan held up his hands in mock surrender, though his grin remained firmly in place. “Relax, wolf. You’d only get in the way. Let Tsunade and Orochimaru handle this.”“I should be protecting him,” Sakumo growled, his hands clenching into fists.“You’re not much use to anyone if you’re pacing like a madman,” came Tsunade’s sharp voice as she emerged from the birthing room. Her sleeves were rolled up, her hair tied back, and her expression brooked no argument.Sakumo lunged toward her. “How is he? Is he okay? Is the baby okay?”Tsunade placed a hand on his chest, effectively stopping him in his tracks. “Orochimaru is fine. The baby is fine. But birth takes time, Sakumo. If you keep storming around, you’ll wear a hole in the floor.”“Can’t I just—”“Sit. Down,” Tsunade ordered, pointing to a chair nearby. To the amazement of everyone, Sakumo obeyed, dropping into the chair with a huff. He buried his face in his hands as Dan and Kohari exchanged amused glances.Hours stretched on. The muffled cries and groans from behind the doors sent Sakumo’s heart racing with each sound. Every so often, Mariko or another servant would slip in and out, bringing fresh water and linens. They moved with quiet efficiency, though their concerned glances at Sakumo did not go unnoticed.“I’ve never seen him like this,” Yasuo murmured to Mariko as they passed by. “He’s always so composed.”Mariko gave a small smile. “Love does that to people. And this is his family. It’s everything to him.”As the hours ticked by, Dan tried to distract Sakumo with small talk, though it did little to quell the alpha’s nerves. Eventually, even Kohari’s quips fell silent as the tension in the air grew thicker. Then, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, a piercing cry cut through the silence. The moment Sakumo heard the first cry of his child, he sank to his knees, burying his face in his hands in sheer relief and gratitude, his heart pounding with an emotion he couldn't name.
The Birth of Kakashi
The opulent birthing suite of the Hatake estate was bathed in the dim light of noon, the heavy velvet curtains drawn slightly to shield the room from the late summer sun. Orochimaru lay propped against a mound of soft pillows, his pale skin glistening with a sheen of sweat. Despite the exhaustion etched into his features, there was an undeniable strength to him—his ink-black hair falling in damp waves around his face, and his golden eyes blazing with determination even in the throes of labour. Each contraction tightened his abdomen with an unforgiving grip, leaving him breathless. Mariko, the ever-attentive maid, stood by his side, gently dabbing his forehead with a cool cloth. “Breathe, Your Grace,” she murmured softly. “In through your nose, out through your mouth. That’s it.”Orochimaru’s sharp golden eyes darted to her, his voice a low, biting murmur as he panted through another wave of pain. “Mariko-san, I appreciate your concern, but your encouragement is as helpful as…” he groaned, unable to finish the quip as another contraction wracked his body.Seated at the foot of the bed, Tsunade examined him with a professional but sympathetic eye. She placed a comforting hand on his leg. “Still not quite dilated enough,” she announced, her tone calm but tinged with warmth. “It’s early yet, Maru. Try to breathe through the contractions. It will help.”Orochimaru cracked open one eye to glare at her. “Breathe? That’s your grand advice?” His voice was dry, trembling slightly with exertion. “Brilliant. Simply brilliant.”Mariko stifled a chuckle as she wrung out the cloth and pressed it gently to his flushed forehead. “It’s sound advice, Your Grace. Believe me, I’ve been through this three times myself. My second labour continued for nearly two days and by the end of it, I was ready to wrangle Yasuo’s neck for simply breathing.”A soft laugh escaped Orochimaru, though it quickly dissolved into a wince as another contraction surged through him. “Two days? Sage forbids. I’m hardly equipped for another two hours, let alone that.”The room’s momentary levity was interrupted by a commotion outside. The muffled sound of raised voices reached them, unmistakably Sakumo’s deep tones edged with panic. “Let me in! I need to see him!”Orochimaru groaned audibly, rolling his eyes even as he braced himself against the wave of pain coursing through him. “That man will be the death of me,” he muttered. “Tsunade, please inform my overly dramatic husband that if he so much as steps into this room right now, I’ll wrangle his neck for not keeping his dick in his pants,” Orochimaru hissed through clenched teeth as another contraction gripped him. With a shaky breath, he added, “and I suppose I’ll wrangle myself for encouraging it.”Tsunade’s lips quirked in a knowing grin. “Do you want him in here?” she asked, already rising to her feet.“Absolutely not,” Orochimaru replied firmly, though his voice wavered with exhaustion. “He’d only pace, fuss, and… breathe too loudly. Tell him to practice his patience elsewhere.”As Tsunade stepped out, the muffled protests from Sakumo continued, punctuated by her sharp admonishments. Back inside, Tobirama adjusted Orochimaru’s pillows with the steady care of someone who had known him all his life.“You’re doing wonderfully, Maru,” Tobirama said, his voice calm and reassuring. “Birth takes time, but you have all of us here for you.”Orochimaru let out a frustrated groan, throwing an arm over his eyes. “Yes, let’s all take our time while my body tears itself apart.” Despite his words, a faint twitch of gratitude softened his lips.Mariko patted his hand gently. “You’re stronger than you think. And remember, this child will be as remarkable as their parents.”Tsunade returned moments later, her apron smoothed and her expression wry. “Your mate is now firmly planted in a chair outside. No more pacing. For now.”“Good,” Orochimaru muttered as another contraction gripped him. He bit his lip, his golden eyes blazing with determination. “How much longer?”“You’re progressing,” Tsunade said gently, crouching beside him. “Not much longer now.”  Time blurred as the contractions intensified, each one stealing more of Orochimaru’s breath and composure. The maids, quiet as shadows, brought fresh linens and bowls of water to the room, their movements careful and reverent. Despite the pain twisting his features, Orochimaru’s beauty was undeniable, they whispered among themselves, marveling at how he still managed to appear otherworldly despite the agony. As dusk fell and the lamps were lit, Tsunade’s voice cut through the room with quiet determination. “You’re ready now, Maru. On my count, push as hard as you can.”Leaning back, his chest heaving, Orochimaru summoned what strength he had left. “Fucking finally,” he muttered hoarsely. “Let’s get this over with.”Tobirama and Mariko supported him as Tsunade positioned herself at the foot of the bed. “One, two, three—push!”Orochimaru bore down, his body trembling with the effort. His sharp tongue, usually so composed, let loose with a string of curses that left Mariko blushing and Tobirama smirking.“Why is this child so stubborn?” he gasped between contractions. “They’re just like their father.”Tsunade smirked faintly, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. "They certainly take after the both of you. Now, push again, Maru.”Time stretched on as Orochimaru kept pushing, each effort draining more of his strength. Mariko stayed by his side, dabbing his face with a cold cloth, her soothing presence a steady anchor. Tobirama, ever the stalwart, steadied him with one hand while offering gentle massages to his shoulders, murmuring quiet reassurances. After an especially hard and painful push, Orochimaru collapsed back against the pillows, his chest heaving as he let out a frustrated curse.“I know you probably like it better in there, little one, but I would really fucking appreciate it if you could make your grand appearance already,” he groaned, his golden eyes narrowing in exasperation.Mariko chuckled softly, patting Orochimaru’s knee. “You’re nearly there, Your Grace. You’re stronger than you realize.”“You’re doing wonderfully,” Tsunade added, her voice steady and encouraging as she peered intently. “I can see the head. Just one more push, Maru. You’ve got this.”With a final, guttural cry, Orochimaru gave everything he had. The room fell silent for a heartbeat, then the sharp, clear cry of a newborn pierced the air.The maids, who had quietly retreated to a corner of the room to give the family space, watched the moment unfold with tears of joy in their eyes, marveling at the miracle before them.Tsunade’s face broke into a radiant smile as she carefully lifted the baby. “It’s a boy,” she said, her voice soft with awe. “A healthy little alpha.”Exhausted but triumphant, Orochimaru collapsed back against the pillows. Tears spilled freely down his face as Tsunade placed the tiny bundle into his arms. The baby’s tufts of silver hair were unmistakable, sticking out in wild, unruly wisps that mirrored his father’s.“Hello, Kakashi,” Orochimaru whispered, his voice breaking with emotion. “My treasure. My little wolf.”Overwhelmed by the deep love coursing through him as he held Kakashi, Orochimaru couldn’t stop the flood of emotions. Tears spilled freely, and he began to sob uncontrollably, hiccuping as he murmured softly, “I’m your Mama, and I love you so, so much. More than anything in this world.”Tobirama leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to Orochimaru’s temple. “You were incredible, Maru. Truly remarkable. I’m so proud of you.”Orochimaru cradled Kakashi closer, the soft weight of his son grounding him in the present, and for a moment, all the agony of the past hours were forgotten. With reverence, he showered Kakashi’s tiny face with delicate kisses. His golden eyes glistened with tears, each one catching the soft glow of the room’s lamps. The air seemed to shimmer with the warmth and love radiating from the moment. The sound of gentle sobs mingled with Kakashi’s newborn cries, filling the room with a harmony of pure joy and completion. The Hatake family had grown, and the estate had never felt more like a home.
 Together
The doors opened, and Tsunade stepped out, her face shining with triumph and exhaustion. She looked directly at Sakumo, a rare softness in her expression.“It’s a boy,” she said simply. For a moment, Sakumo stood frozen in place. Her words hung in the air, echoing in his mind. Then, without hesitation, he pushed past her, his heart pounding as he stepped into the room. The soft glow of the lamps revealed a scene that would remain etched in his heart forever. Orochimaru sat propped against a mound of pillows, his black hair damp and curling against his cheeks, his golden eyes shimmering with emotion. In his arms lay a tiny bundle, wrapped snugly in delicate, white linens—their son.Sakumo’s breath caught, and for a moment, he simply stood there, overwhelmed. The sight before him was too beautiful, too sacred to disturb.“Wolf-heart,” Orochimaru murmured, his voice a tender melody that broke through Sakumo’s daze. “Come meet our little Kakashi.”The sound of his name drew him forward, his legs nearly giving out beneath him. He crossed the room in a few unsteady steps and sank to his knees beside the bed, his gray eyes fixed on the baby cradled so lovingly in Orochimaru’s arms. With trembling hands, he reached out, brushing a calloused finger against Kakashi’s soft cheek. The baby stirred slightly, a soft coo escaping his tiny lips. Sakumo’s breath shuddered, and tears spilled freely down his face.“He’s… he’s perfect,” he whispered, his voice breaking under the weight of his emotions.Orochimaru’s smile was faint but radiant. “Would you like to hold him?”Sakumo hesitated, as though afraid to shatter the moment, but when Orochimaru carefully placed their son into his arms, his hesitation melted away. Kakashi fit so perfectly, so naturally, against his chest. Sakumo held him close, his hand gently cradling the baby’s head as tufts of unruly silver hair tickled his fingers.“Kakashi,” he murmured reverently, his lips brushing the baby’s forehead. “My son. My little wolf.”He looked up at Orochimaru, his gray eyes filled with gratitude and wonder. “You’re incredible, Oro. You’ve given me everything I could ever dream of.” His voice cracked, and he pressed a trembling kiss to Orochimaru’s forehead.Orochimaru let out a soft laugh, his own tears glistening in the warm light. “He looks like you,” he said, his golden eyes scanning their son’s features. “Especially that hair of yours, unruly as it is.”Sakumo chuckled, his voice thick with emotion. “He has your delicate features,” he replied, his gaze softening. “But those eyes… he’s got my gray, but they’ll carry your brilliance, Oro. He’ll be as extraordinary as you.”Outside the room, the key group of servants who had served the Hatake family for decades exchanged knowing glances, their hearts swelling with joy. Ayko, the cook, wiped her flour-dusted hands on her apron as she sniffled quietly.“It’s been years since I’ve seen him this happy,” she said, her voice trembling. “Not since before the master’s parents passed.”Genji, the gardener, nodded, his weathered face breaking into a rare smile. “He’s been through so much. To see him like this again… it’s a gift.”Daigo, the carriage driver, stood a little apart, his cap held tightly in his hands. His deep voice rumbled softly. “The little one carries a strong name,” he said. “Kakashi. The old master would be proud. We’ve come full circle.”The three shared a moment of quiet reflection before Mariko, who had been watching from the door, turned back to peek inside. Her heart swelled at the sight of Sakumo pressing kisses to Kakashi’s forehead, his arms wrapped protectively around the baby as Orochimaru leaned against him, their heads close together.Inside the room, Sakumo rested his cheek against Kakashi’s soft hair, his voice a gentle whisper. “You’re our little wolf,” he murmured. “You’ve brought light back into our lives.”Orochimaru rested his head on Sakumo’s shoulder, his golden eyes heavy with exhaustion but shimmering with contentment. “Our family,” he said softly, the words a vow and a promise. The warmth of the moment filled every corner of the Hatake estate, and for the first time in years, there was a sense of completeness that no one dared disturb. The servants retreated to let the family enjoy their peace, but in their hearts, they carried the joy of this new beginning. It was a moment they would cherish forever—a moment where love, life, and legacy intertwined seamlessly.
Celebrations
The weeks following Kakashi’s birth brought a profound transformation to the Hatake estate, as though an unseen shadow that had lingered for years had finally lifted, allowing sunlight to bathe the land in renewed vitality. For so long, the estate had felt weighed down by an unspoken heaviness—a quiet mourning after the tragic loss of Sakumo’s parents, compounded by years of duty and sacrifice that left little room for personal joy. While the fields were tended and the manor remained pristine, there had been a noticeable stillness, a sense that the vibrancy that once defined the Hatake lands had faded. But now, with the changes made by the Master´s new mate and the arrival of the heir, laughter returned to the halls, songs echoed through the villages, and the very air seemed lighter, carrying with it a promise of hope and renewal. In the villages, celebrations erupted spontaneously, each one imbued with the unique spirit of its people. Feasts were arranged on long communal tables laden with roasted meats, freshly baked bread, and the finest seasonal fruits. Children adorned themselves with handmade garlands of wildflowers, their laughter echoing through the streets as they waved banners painted with the Hatake wolf emblem. Elders, sitting in circles by roaring bonfires, recounted tales of the Hatake lineage, weaving in stories of bravery and compassion that had earned the family their beloved reputation. Villagers lit lanterns at dusk, sending them skyward as a symbol of their prayers and gratitude for the health of the family and the new heir. Flute and drum players led processions through the cobblestone streets, and dancers, dressed in their finest traditional garb, performed intricate routines that had been passed down for generations, their movements a celebration of life and renewal.Within the manor, the atmosphere was no less jubilant, though it took on a quieter, more intimate tone. Orochimaru, bedridden for over a week as he recovered, became the subject of a collective doting campaign that left him caught between exasperation and a rare sense of vulnerability. Though he had always prided himself on his independence and resilience, he couldn’t deny the warmth that bloomed in his chest at the sheer devotion surrounding him. And, as Mariko fluffed his pillows for the third time in an hour and Sakumo hovered with barely disguised worry, Orochimaru allowed himself to sink into their attentiveness, a small smile tugging at his lips despite himself. Perhaps, he thought, being doted upon wasn’t so terrible after all.Sakumo scarcely left his side, carrying him from the bed to the balcony so he could enjoy the garden’s blooms or placing him in a comfortable chair by the window to feel the warm sun on his skin. Yasuo and Mariko, ever attentive, were a constant presence as well. Mariko ensured his pillows were perfectly fluffed and insisted on applying her homemade salves, while Yasuo took on the role of an unofficial nurse, ensuring Orochimaru wanted for nothing. “Mariko-san,” Orochimaru murmured one morning, his voice still soft with lingering fatigue, “I assure you, I’m perfectly fine without another blanket.”Mariko’s stern gaze silenced any further protest. “You’ll be fine when I say you’re fine, Your Grace. Now, eat this soup. Ayko made it fresh this morning, and you’ll need your strength.”From the doorway, Ayko peered in, her hands on her hips. “Don’t let it get cold, Your Grace,” she called. “It’s my best recipe, and I’ll not have it wasted.”Orochimaru sighed but accepted the bowl with a faint smile. “You’ve all become insufferably overbearing.”Sakumo, perched on the edge of the bed, leaned in to press a kiss to his temple. “That’s because we love you. You’ll just have to endure it.”Meanwhile, Genji redoubled his efforts in the garden, pruning and planting so that the blooms Orochimaru loved most were in full splendour. “His Grace should have something beautiful to look at when he’s on the balcony,” he told the others, his hands calloused but steady as he worked. Daigo polished the carriages to a gleaming shine, even though there were no plans for an outing, and the maids flitted through the halls, dusting and arranging with meticulous care.Orochimaru, too tired to protest the hovering, found himself surrendering to the attention. There were moments, late at night, when he would glance at Sakumo, who lay beside him with Kakashi nestled between them, and feel his heart swell with gratitude.  The family began to arrive in waves a week later, filling the manor with laughter, lively debates, and the unique energy of the Senju and Uchiha families. Madara swept in first, his dramatic entrance punctuated by loud exclamations and tears. “My baby had a baby!” he wailed, enveloping Orochimaru in a bone-crushing hug. “How could you not let me come sooner? I should have been here!”“You would have been unbearable in the birthing room, Father,” Orochimaru quipped, though his golden eyes softened as he patted Madara’s arm.“You should have called me still!” Madara sniffled, but his tears dried immediately upon catching sight of Kakashi. “Look at him! He’s perfect. He’s… he’s even got that blasted Hatake hair!”Behind him, Tobirama sighed, his arms crossed as he sat beside his son. “Must you always exaggerate?” he asked, though his tone was softer than usual. His sharp eyes softened as he stepped closer, peering down at the baby. “A baby is worth celebrating, though I suppose I’ll have to endure your theatrics forever now.”Madara spun around, glaring. “Our grandchild is far more important than even a coronation, Tobi. Don’t downplay this.”Tobirama rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide the fond smile that tugged at his lips. He reached out, gently brushing a finger across Kakashi’s tiny hand. “He’s a bright one already,” he murmured, his voice uncharacteristically soft.Jiraiya entered with a booming laugh. “He’s got a point,” he said, walking across the room to poke Kakashi’s unruly tufts. “But seriously, that hair. It’s definitely a Hatake thing. Poor kid didn’t stand a chance.”Hashirama and Mito arrived soon after, their warmth filling the room. Hashirama immediately scooped Kakashi into his arms, cooing at him with the same energy he reserved for his beloved plants. “A strong boy,” he declared, his deep laugh booming. “He’ll grow up to protect all of this, just like his parents.”Mito, elegant and composed, kissed Orochimaru’s forehead. “You’ve done wonderfully, my dear. He’s beautiful.”Nawaki bounded in, his youthful exuberance impossible to contain. “When can I start training him?” he asked, only to be swatted lightly by Mito.“He’s barely a week old,” she chided. “Give him some time to grow first.”  Tsunade came for regular checkups, though her visits were less clinical and more an opportunity to tease Orochimaru mercilessly. “I’ll never forget how bitchy you were during labour,” she remarked one afternoon, leaning casually against the doorframe. “Now look at you, smothering the baby with kisses like nothing ever happened.”Sakumo, who had been playing with Kakashi, looked up in confusion. “Did I miss something?”“It was just hormones,” Orochimaru interjected swiftly, his golden eyes narrowing at Tsunade. “Nothing worth mentioning.”  Kakashi, for his part, became the most doted-upon treasure in the manor. Mariko would often be found rocking him gently by the fire, humming soft lullabies that filled the room with warmth. Ayko, taking immense pride in her role, prepared small, nourishing batches of mash to ensure he would grow strong (although Kakashi couldn´t eat them yet), often declaring with a smile, “The future lord of the estate must have the finest start.” Yasuo, ever the stoic, allowed a rare tenderness to surface as he stood watch over the cradle, his quiet smiles a reflection of his deep affection. Genji, took special care to gather the most fragrant flowers, arranging them just so in Kakashi’s nursery, his weathered hands steady as he worked. Even Daigo, who spent much of his time tending to his duties outside, would peek in on the infant, his gruff demeanour melting as he murmured, “A fine heir, indeed.”The younger maids, brimming with enthusiasm, vied for the chance to hold Kakashi or play with his tiny fingers, their laughter brightening the halls. Each servant found their own way to express their affection, and the manor buzzed with a sense of collective joy and purpose. Through it all, Kakashi basked in their attention, his tiny coos and bright eyes drawing smiles from everyone who saw him. And through it all, Kakashi basked the most in the warmth and love of his parents. Orochimaru and Sakumo spent hours with him, marveling at his tiny fingers and the way his gray eyes seemed to sparkle with curiosity. Sakumo often carried him through the estate, pointing out the lands that would one day be his. “You’ll protect it all,” he would whisper, his voice filled with quiet conviction. “Just as I will protect you.”At night, when the manor grew quiet, the three of them would lie together, wrapped in a cocoon of love and contentment. Orochimaru would press soft kisses to Kakashi’s forehead, his golden eyes shimmering with emotion. “Our little wolf,” he would murmur. “You’ve brought us more joy than I ever thought possible.”  The Hatake estate, once weighed down by unseen shadows, now shone with a brilliance that seemed unshakable. The future stretched out before them, bright and full of promise, and for the first time in years, there was nothing to fear.

The Estate Through Kakashi’s Eyes
Four-year-old Hatake Kakashi was a small whirlwind of energy, curiosity, and boundless affection. To him, the Hatake estate was not just a grand and sprawling property; it was a magical kingdom filled with fascinating nooks, loving faces, and the comforting warmth of family. From the stately manor to the well-tended gardens, every corner held a story, and Kakashi took it upon himself to uncover them all.The manor stood tall and dignified, its grand halls and gleaming chandeliers speaking of a rich history Kakashi was too young to understand but old enough to sense. The carved wolf emblem above the grand fireplace fascinated him, its fierce yet protective gaze making him feel safe. He loved to run his tiny fingers over the smooth wood of the bannisters, sliding down them whenever he thought no one was watching.
Genji´s Garden
The gardens, lovingly tended by Genji, were his favourite place to explore. Kakashi often wandered among the blooming flowers, his small hands trailing over petals as soft as silk. Genji, the estate’s gardener, was always nearby, his weathered hands deftly tending to the plants.“Genji-jii,” Kakashi called one day, peeking around a bush where Genji knelt, pruning roses. “Why do you talk to the flowers?”Genji chuckled, his deep voice like the rumble of distant thunder. “Because, young master, flowers grow better when you treat them kindly. Just like people.”Kakashi’s gray eyes, wide with curiosity, mirrored the thoughtful expression of his mother. He nodded solemnly before crouching next to Genji, whispering, “Grow big and strong, flowers.”Genji’s laughter echoed across the garden as he tousled Kakashi’s silver hair. “You’ll make a fine gardener one day, young master.”
Mariko-baa and Yasuo-jii
Inside the manor, Kakashi often sought the company of Mariko-baa and Yasuo-jii, the elder servants who had become surrogate grandparents to him. Mariko, the head maid and his nursemaid since birth, was a steady and loving presence. She always ensured Kakashi’s clothes were perfectly neat and that he never went without a hug or a kind word.“Kakashi-bouchan, come here,” she called one morning, holding up a freshly folded shirt. “Let’s make you look presentable before you run off to find trouble.”Kakashi giggled, running into her arms instead. “You always make me look like a lord, Mariko-baa.”Mariko kissed his forehead. “That’s because you are one, my little wolf. Now go on but stay out of the mud this time.” Yasuo, the dignified butler, was a quieter presence but no less beloved. Kakashi loved watching him polish the silver or adjust the grand clocks, his movements precise and deliberate. Yasuo always had a story ready, tales of the estate’s history or of Sakumo’s adventures as a young boy.“Your papa once climbed the tallest tree in the garden,” Yasuo recounted one evening as he polished a candelabra. “Said he wanted to see the whole world. I had to fetch him down before his mother caught him.”Kakashi giggled, his gray eyes shining. “Did he get in trouble?”“Not with me, but his mama…” Yasuo’s lips twitched into a rare smile. “Let’s just say he didn’t climb trees for a while after that.”
Orochimaru and Sakumo Through Kakashi’s Eyes
To Kakashi, his parents were the centre of his world. Orochimaru, with his golden eyes and silken voice, was both a source of comfort and awe. Kakashi often marveled at the way his mother seemed to glide through the manor, his robes trailing behind him like liquid shadows, reminding him of the pretty fairies in his storybooks. To Kakashi, Orochimaru’s intelligence was nothing short of magical. He loved to sit by his mother’s side, listening to the calm cadence of his voice as he read aloud or explained the mysteries of the world.“Mama,” Kakashi asked one rainy afternoon as they sat in the library, “how do you know so much?”Orochimaru’s lips curved into a soft smile as he closed the book in his lap. “Because I’ve always been curious, little wolf. Just like you.”Kakashi beamed, crawling onto Orochimaru’s lap and snuggling into his chest. “You’re the smartest and prettiest person in the whole world, Mama.”Orochimaru’s eyes softened, and he kissed the top of Kakashi’s head. “And you’re the most important person in mine.” Sakumo, on the other hand, was Kakashi’s hero. Strong and kind, his father’s laughter filled the manor like sunlight streaming through windows. Sakumo would lift Kakashi high into the air, spinning him around until they were both breathless with laughter.“Papa, do you think I’ll be strong like you one day?” Kakashi asked one evening as they walked through the estate, the sunset casting a golden glow over the fields.Sakumo knelt, placing a hand on his son’s small shoulder. “You’ll be strong in your own way, Kakashi. Stronger than me, I’m sure.”Kakashi tilted his head. “How do you know?”Sakumo smiled, ruffling Kakashi’s hair. “Because you’ve got your mama’s brilliance and my stubbornness. That’s a powerful combination.”
Ayko’s Kitchen
The heart of the estate was Ayko’s kitchen, where the scent of fresh bread and simmering stews made Kakashi’s mouth water. Ayko ruled her domain with a wooden spoon and an unyielding determination to ensure that everyone—especially Kakashi—was well-fed.“Young master, you’re too skinny,” Ayko declared one morning, setting a plate of warm pastries in front of him. “Eat up, or you’ll blow away in the wind.”Kakashi grinned, already stuffing a pastry into his mouth. “Thank you, Ayko-baa!” he said around a mouthful of food, earning a fond shake of her head.“Manners, Kakashi-bouchan,” she chided, though her smile betrayed her affection.
The Servants’ Love for Kakashi
The staff doted on Kakashi with a tenderness that reflected their deep love for the Hatake family. Daigo, the carriage driver, carved small wooden animals for him during quiet moments in the stables.“What’s this one, Daigo-jii?” Kakashi asked one afternoon, holding up a tiny carved wolf.Daigo’s weathered face softened into a smile. “That’s a wolf, young master. Just like the one on your family crest. Strong and loyal.”“Like Papa,” Kakashi said, clutching the figure tightly.Even the younger maids adored him, often finding excuses to play with him or sneak him sweets. They marveled at his energy and sharp mind, declaring that he was destined to be just as amazing as his parents.

A Day in Kakashi’s Life
On an ordinary day, Kakashi would wake early, nestled comfortably between his parents in their grand bed. He loved waking up there, surrounded by his mama’s soft warmth and his papa’s steady presence. Orochimaru would often still be drowsy, his golden eyes half-lidded as he kissed Kakashi’s temple, while Sakumo would grin and ruffle his son’s wild silver locks.Breakfast was an affair Kakashi insisted on making special. Instead of eating in his own chair, he begged to sit on his mothers’s lap at the dining table. “It’s nice here,” he declared, snuggling into Orochimaru’s embrace. “Mama always hugs me and kisses me.”Sakumo would laugh softly, leaning across the table to tweak Kakashi’s nose. “Who wouldn’t want to spoil you, little wolf?” he’d say as Orochimaru pressed a gentle kiss to Kakashi’s cheek, murmuring, “You’re my heart, little one.”With his parents indulging his request, Kakashi would eat happily, the dining room filled with warmth and love that lingered long after breakfast was over.He might spend the morning with Orochimaru in the study, listening to stories or trying to sound out words in the thick tomes. By afternoon, he’d be outside, running through the gardens with Genji or playing with the wooden animals Daigo had carved for him. When evening fell, he’d curl up between his parents, their quiet voices lulling him to sleep as they spoke of the day’s events.
A Legacy
Sometimes, Kakashi would stand in front of the large portrait of his great-grandfather, the man he was named after, displayed in the manor’s grand hall. The stern yet kind eyes in the painting seemed to watch over him, and Kakashi’s small hand would reach out as if trying to touch the proud figure. He cherished the stories everyone shared about his great-grandfather, a man of remarkable strength and wisdom who had safeguarded the family, their lands, and its people with steadfast courage and an unyielding sense of duty.“One day, I’ll be just as strong,” Kakashi whispered to the portrait. “I’ll protect Mama, Papa, and everyone, just like you.”His chest swelled with determination, fueled by a moment from earlier that week when he’d scratched his knee while chasing a butterfly in the garden. Despite the sting, he’d only cried a little, and Orochimaru had kissed his forehead, calling him “very brave.” That praise lingered in Kakashi’s mind, solidifying his resolve to grow into the kind of person who made his family proud, someone who’d inspire stories to be told long after he was gone. And at the centre of it all, his Mama and Papa were his greatest treasures, their love wrapping around him like the warmest embrace. To Kakashi, the Hatake estate was more than just a home; it was a world filled with love, laughter, and the steady rhythm of a family who cherished him beyond measure.
