"For the third and final time, who was the man with you in the store?" Yoongi all but slammed his palms on the steel desk, getting more and more irritated by the minute. The detective inspector wanted answers but the baby faced man quivering in front of him sure as hell wasn't giving him any. "I p-promise! I didn't do anything! I didn't!" Jimin protested, voice reaching a petulant whine. Under the desk, the black haired male squeezed his sweaty palms together. It was only the both of them in the interrogation room, the air thick with tension. It was cube shaped with a steel table in the middle of it and two chairs facing opposite each other, the tape recorder right in the middle. The walls were a deep navy blue, the floor a similar colour carpet and there was a big black window on the wall directly opposite the younger boy in the room. Jimin sat at the table while Yoongi paced to and fro from the door to the wall, hands running through his recently dyed silver hair. "Then why did he pass you the bag? He wouldn't pass a stranger a bag full of money he's just robbed out of a till!" Yoongi said, incredulity blatant in his voice as he sat down at the table, clasping his hands together and resting his chin on them, looking Jimin straight in the eyes. Any hesitation in his facial features would be spotted immediately by the detective; Yoongi wasn't called HawkEye around the precinct for nothing. (This is excluding the fact he spotted Officer Baekhyun and Officer Chanyeol passionately making out in the kitchenette when they thought everyone had gone out for lunch. Yoongi just wanted some instant coffee, not a re-enactment of Fifty Shades of Grey)"I don't know!! I just wanted to pay for my apple juice but all of a sudden this super heavy black bag is thrown at me and I catch it cause I don't want to be knocked out and I'm hearing police sirens and you're telling me to freeze? And put my hands up? I just wanted to buy apple juice!" Jimin says in a rush, the anxiety of being interrogated for over an hour in a closed room finally getting to him. And suddenly he can't breathe. Fuck. "It just seems a bit shifty that- Hey? Park Jimin ssi? Are you okay?" Yoongi, mid-way through his sentence stops when he notices the boy across from him breathing a bit too quickly and his face going a bit too pink."I.......I" Jimin attempts to speak, wheezing more than forming actual words. Yoongi bolts up from seat and walks over to Jimin, taking one of the younger's sweaty palms into his. "Hey hey look at me." Yoongi says, his voice taking a softer tone as he used his free hand to lightly rub small circles on Jimin's back, the repetitive motions soothing the panicking boy slowly."You alright now?" Yoongi asked in a low tone. Jimin simply nodded, not trusting his voice. Now that the detective was closer to Jimin, the younger boy could see how attractive the elder was. His gruff voice wasn't the only appealing feature about him; his sharp eyes and his soft pouted lips making Jimin taking a sharp breath in. "I guess we'll stop here then hm?" Yoongi gave the black haired boy a small smile as he got up, a joint somewhere in his body popping. As the detective stretched himself out, the door swung open and banged loudly against the wall. A man with brightly coloured thick rimmed glasses and pastel lavender hair stood at the threshold, face contoured into a grimace at the intensity of the door hitting the wall. "Sorry about that. I've been listening and it's ok, Boss says you can let him go" The svelte man came in, leaning against the big black window on the wall opposite Jimin.'How was he able to hear everything? There weren't any cameras in the room from what he could see' Jimin pondered. Almost as if the man understood what Jimin was thinking, he knocked on the glass window with his knuckle twice getting Jimin's attention. "It's a two way mirror. We've seen everything that's happened in here, including Yoongi hyung's heroic act hoho" The man tittered behind a hand, exaggerating the shake of his shoulders as he laughed. "Fuck off Tae. Where's Joonie hyung?" Yoongi asked, hand on the the door handle as he was halfway out the door. "Boss is next door, should I stay here with Suspect ssi?" Taehyung said, turning to look at Jimin who was watching this exchange with bewilderment obvious on his face. "Yes please and he has a name, be respectful you egg""I'm vegan! Tag your triggers hyung!" Taehyung gasped obnoxiously, Yoongi rolling his eyes as he left. The room went silent when the detective left, Taehyung sitting in Yoongi's previous seat."Don't be worried Suspect ssi, Boss knows you're innocent so he's just gonna come in and sound important for a bit 'fore letting you go. 'Kay?" Taehyung had quite a deep voice yet he had a sweet lilt to his voice, a contrast suiting him so well."Um.. I have a name. It's Jimin. And thank you" "Yeah I know your name is Jimin but like... Suspect ssi sounds better 'cause it sounds like it's an inside joke between us to any one who hears us. And we're friends right?"".....Yeah I guess we are" Jimin agreed with a soft huff, a smile growing on his face. Did he really just befriend a police officer? If the grin on Taehyung's face was anything to go by, he just made a new friend. "Tae you ass fuck what you doing to Jimin" A strange man's voice jolted Jimin a little as the door opened revealing Yoongi coming back in with another man who was a little taller than him. (Okay maybe a lot taller... But it's cute) "Um Boss I was just making friends with him? Stop thinking the worst of me?" Taehyung turned to this 'Boss', a scandalised look on his face. "Don't call me Boss I'm literally not even the Boss. And I'll stop thinking the worst of you when you stop befriending arsonists" The Boss-Not-Boss was dressed in quite monotonous colours, giving Jimin quite a mature vibe. Yet his choppy blue hair said 'I may be Boss, but I don't get too Cross!!" Or something. "It was one time! And he only set fire to himself it's fine" Taehyung turned back to the table, holding his chin in his hand. "It's not fine? But anyway, Park Jimin ssi" Boss-Not-Boss suddenly focused his attention on Jimin, the younger immediately correcting his posture as the blue haired man came over to perch a slender leg on the desk. "Y-yes?" Jimin croaked. Rip his voice. "I'm Police Captain Namjoon" He said with a small wave, ignoring the small chime of 'Boss!' in the back. "I was assigned this case and these fuckers 'cause there was literally nothing for me to do but! That's irrelevant! I'm here to tell you you're free to go! We were able to scan the CCTV footage from the store and we were able to see that you, in fact, did get the bag randomly thrown at you and in fact, did want to buy apple juice""Say in fact one more time I will literally taser you" Yoongi speaks up from the back, arms folded against his chest and a fixed expression on his face. "T-thank you Namjoon ssi" Jimin grinned, bowing slightly. "Oh no it's fine! Thank you for telling the truth! Sorry we had to subject you to Grumpy over there" Namjoon nodded his head in Yoongi's direction. "I literally have the taser in my right hand""Oh no.. He was fine! He was just doing what he was told to after all" Jimin said, looking over at Yoongi and ignoring the fluttering of his stomach as the blond detective smirked at him."Alrighty then, if you go to the front desk you'll get some papers you need to sign before we let you go. It was nice to see you! Hope we never see you in here again!" Namjoon stood up, tapping Taehyung on the head and the lavender haired boy stood up too. "Come visit me Suspect ssi! Bring food next time!" Taehyung waved at Jimin before rushing out the door, leaving the black haired boy and the blond detective alone in the dark room."Um.." Yoongi started, trailing off. Jimin looked up to see quite a coy expression on the detective's face. It gave him the sudden urge to get up and clasp the detective's face between his hands, but Jimin thought that wouldn't really be an acceptable thing to do at this point."Yes?" Jimin hoped that he didn't look as eager to hear what Yoongi was going to say as he sounded."I just.. wanted to apologise for like snapping at you and shit""Oh there's no need to apologise. It's your job after all!" Jimin beamed at Yoongi. (Yoongi's heart clenched a little at that sight..... Or maybe it was the seven bowls of instant ramen he had last night clogging up his arteries) "Yeah well. Thanks for being understanding and stuff. See ya never" Yoongi said simply and pushed himself off the wall, walking towards the door and opening it."W-Wait!" The black haired boy blurted out, not realising he shouted out until he saw the look on Yoongi's face; Confusion, vexation and maybe interest?"Yes?" The furrowing of the detective's eyebrows made interest seem more like annoyance. Jimin, still sat down, got up and knocked the chair over in the process. Well done Jimin.".....goddamn it" Jimin murmured to himself as he bent over to pick up the chair, blush growing on his face by the second. "Cute" The detective smirked as he watched Jimin flounder to pick up the chair and slide it under the chair. The black haired boy patted the chair awkwardly before turning back to Yoongi who was trying to fight a smile off his face."You were saying?" The detective leant against the door handle in a swift manner, Jimin's heart leaping to chill in his throat for a bit. The younger boy didn't even remember what he stopped Yoongi for, he just knew that he didn't want to leave like this. No matter how simple Taehyung made it sound, he couldn't just pop in to a police station to say hi."Do you want to go out for dinner?" Jimin's eyes widened as he blurted out, words forming on his lips before he could even stop them. Yoongi mirrored Jimin's expression, shocked at the suddenness of the request. "Dinner?" Yoongi repeated, just in case he misheard although it's pretty damn hard to mishear that sentence unless Jimin said something like "Did you get thinner" which he definitely didn't say probably hopefully."Yes. Dinner. A meal. The dindins" Jimin internally cringed at how gross and awkward he was being. Yoongi let himself snort out loud at this, finding the bumbling mess in front of him completely endearing. "Okay sure, why not. You're lucky that it's the end of my shift. I'll meet you outside in like fifteen okay?" Yoongi said, this time actually leaving through the open door."Right! See you in a bit!" Jimin said to the detective's retreating figure, not bothering to hide his excitement anymore. Yoongi actually agreed to his impromptu dinner date. What are the odds? Although he usually hates filling in repetitive forms like this, Jimin actually smiled while filling in the unending questions. A rare occurrence if you ask him. Questions filled in and given the "Ok" to leave, Jimin stood outside the precinct with his hands shoved in his pockets and coat zipped up until it touched his chin. It was only when five minutes passed of him standing outside did it hit him: Why would Yoongi come out to dinner with him?! I mean, he was under suspicion for helping rob a store? But he was cleared of that suspicion but that means that him and Yoongi have no more reason to see each other. Or maybe Yoongi thinks Jimin is taking him out because he's guilty of something? But he definitely is innocent but what if-"You ready?" The younger boy is jolted out of his thoughts at the sound of the detective's voice. He turned to see Yoongi stood at the top of the building steps, scarf wrapped around his neck so tightly his head could actually come off while walking. "Uh yeah" Jimin mumbled as he got up off the wall, the detective making his way quickly down the stairs to stand next to the younger boy. They were roughly the same height, Jimin just being those one or two centimetres shorter. (Finally, Yoongi thought. Someone ACTUALLY small)"So where we going?" The detective asked once they began walking. Jimin had no idea where they were going so he improvised, pointing at this Italian restaurant across. "Good choice. Namjoon dragged me there once. They have some lit garlic breadsticks" Yoongi hummed as they stood waiting for the lights to turn red so they could cross. Jimin thanked every deity out there for helping him make a good (yet spontaneous) decision. The journey there was short so short conversation was made, no time to really elaborate on things since they reached the place of choice in less than five minutes. After being ushered to a table, given their menus and picked what they wanted to eat, they were able to talk more and discovered they had more things in common than they thought.("You hate peanut butter hyung? Oh my god I hate peanut butter too!"Literally God bless you Jimin only you understand me I need no one else)After two plates of lasagne and a shared bowl of gelato, they paid for the meal (they both halved it) and were stood outside. Unfortunately, Yoongi had to walk back to the precinct to get a bus stop from in front of it and Jimin had to continue on from the restaurant to get to the train station. "So! I just guess this is where we stop!" Jimin says, zipping up his coat again. "Yeah" Yoongi murmured as he watched the black haired boy struggle with his zip with a soft smile on his face. When Jimin successfully zipped it up, he looked up at Yoongi with quite a proud grin on his face as if to say 'I did it!'"I'll text you later?" Jimin thinks to the phone sitting in his jeans pocket with Yoongi's number saved in it.(The fact Yoongi's number is saved under "Detective Hyung ❤️" is something only Jimin needs to know about)"Yeah ok" The detective responds, thinking for a few seconds before outstretching his hands. Jimin too the hint immediately and stepped forward, letting himself be enveloped in Yoongi's arms. The detective smelt like fresh mint and garlic bread, a weird combination but definitely a Yoongi combination. After what felt like a whole two minutes, Yoongi lets go and waves. Jimin does the same before turning around, a skip in step as he made his way back home.
